TAKE PART IN WELCOMING MOMUSU TO LA --
In the wake of learning about Morning Musume's arrival into downtown Los Angeles come early July, many things have been put into motion. The most prominent of these would be JPH!P's decision to attend to the even en masse. Along with this decision for our hordes of loyal pervs to make the pilgrimage comes the decision to present our 9 idols with gifts.
JPH!P has decided that the best way to offer unto our girls our affections is to bestow upon them a gift basket of epic proportions. The basket will consist of 4 stages.
Stage one - Limited Edition JPH!P/MM t-shirts. (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=18528)
Stage two - Stuffed animals (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=18529)
Stage three - Personalized journals
Stage four - FUCKING FOOD!! (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=18529)
This thread is dedicated to Stage three, the personalized journals for each girl. The basket will contain a letter addressed to Morning Musume as a whole, representing ALL of JPH!P and written by our fearless leader Daigong. But, we would also like to offer you the chance to write a letter to an individual member or several of them. Each member will have their own Journal full of your letters.
Write them a letter, a poem, draw them a picture, simply write DAISUKI on a piece of paper. Whatever way you want to express yourself to your favorite member(s) is okay by us (but I mean, try to keep it clean, lol)! We are still in the process of selecting the size and style of book to place the letters in, but I can give you this information:
-It will be no bigger than standard notebook size (8.5x11 inches).
-It will contain clear page protectors which we will place your letters into.
-We feel a handwritten letter is the most personal way to go.
-Feel free to write letters to as many members as you'd like.
We are seeking Japanese translators that translate the written letters into Kanji, etc.* so that the girls may read them easily. Both your handwritten letter and the translation will be included in the book. Whether you want to simply print the translation or attempt to hand write the translation is up to you.
We are also seeking someone to translate letters to JunJun and LinLin into Chinese*. We would prefer Simplified Chinese, but Traditional is welcome as well.
If you want your letter translated, PM the contents to one of the translators. When the translation is done, send both your handwritten original and either a handwritten translation (if you wish to try this) or a nice printout of the translation to either myself or Fenrir**. If you do not want your letter translated just send it on out!
The deadline for all material is June 6th! But if you do want your letter translated, don't wait until the last minute, we need time for the translation and everything. PLEASE don't make this a rush job, get your stuff in early! So get thinking and writing! Even if you can't make it to LA, this is your CHANCE to take part in this milestone event!
*We ask that volunteers for Japanese translators have a strong command of the language and know Kanji in order to present good translations to the girls. These translations will represent someone else's feelings, we want them handled right. Also all translators will have the option of attaching their name to the translation (ie, translated by tenkei). Those who wish to volunteer to translate post in the thread and send me a PM.
**We're still working a few things out about who will receive the letters. We will resolve this as quick as we can so you may start sending letters out. Addresses will be made available when the time is appropriate.

The gift basket is being spearheaded by myself and Fenrir, we will be dealing with most of the stuff between the two us. Also, JPH!P will be accepting donations in the near future (once some other things have been finalized), to help fund this gift to Morning Musume. These donations are COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY, but I would like to say every little bit helps and we appreciate anything you can contribute.

I was thinking of writing them a letter in Japanese to begin with and asking my Japanese teacher to check it over for me. Haha. Make it my extracurricular project or something. Lol.

^^ Hand written is more personal, but if you want to print it out that works too. Or for those who procrastinate until the very end, email, I guess, works too. XD

Might I suggest that we try keep track of approximatly how many letters are going to each girl? That way if it seems like someone is getting a lot fewer letters then the other members people can kind of take it upon themselves to write letters to that girl so she's not excluded?
Because it would suck if all the other girls got like 30 letters and then one got like 10 or something... or maybe I'm just being weird and it wouldn't be a big deal.

lol, did someone move this thread here? Good thing cause I never would've found it. You guys know I'm down. It's good that Estrea's will translate simplified, that's all they teach in the mainland, and a lot of trad. chars are pretty tough to figure out if you only know simplified.

wasn't gonna write a letter since I'm not really much of a fan anymore but daigong said exactly what I was thinking in his post. :lol: Just a simple thanks to them for coming would probably be nice.
He also answered a few questions I had. He read my mind. haha
I might just type up something simple and pm it in the following weeks.

^ I was thinking the same thing. I can't think of anything to write, but I thought about doing little drawings for each girl. Probably on something small like a nice card stock with a "Thank You" or something on there. I probably won't write much.

lol I need to work out my letter, it will be all in one page with small pieces for each girl :) and I am doing it by hand, so once I have what I am going to say to each girl I am sending um for translations :)
lol I just need to pick my stationary now, I have tons of different kinds. or maybe I will make my own lol!!!

For those of you who have no idea what to write, something simple like:
"Hello! I'm a fan from _____________. Thank you for coming to America! I'm looking forward to seeing you in concert at AX! I hope you had a great time! Best of luck to you! Love, ____________"
or if you can't make it to AX:
"Hello! I'm a fan from _____________. Thank you for coming to America! I can't make it to AX, but I hope you had a great time! Best of luck to you! Love, ____________"
You can also write about why you like/liked MM or your favorite song or whatever. So get your letters in!
As I don't have a lot of time to translate if you want it translated and I still need to work on that OPV... ARrrghhhhhh too much things going on!!!

Oh yeah, feel free to use that. I forgot to mention to Aewen too, but keeping it in simple sentences, with not so much slang will help speed up the process of translations.
I'm not THAT good in Japanese. lol If it's long that's fine, just want people to keep it simple.
Oh yeah, another note for everybody, if you are planning to hand write the Japanese, let me know if you are ok with Kanji. I might just put the hiragana in parenthesis too in case the kanji is too hard.

As for the Kanji, it's just I know some people would have a difficult time writing the kanji, but if we're just printing it, then I'm all for the kanji. XD

^ No idea. Tenkei is collecting all the letters; I just translate, so I'm not sure how the numbers are looking. We got some from H!O, but I'm not sure if we got anything from JPM yet.
Just write to who you would like to write to. If it's to MM in general or to a specific member, all is good. :)
