Title: Authorities close in on noodle factory disappearance
Post by: Foxy Brown on December 13, 2005, 04:34:29 AM
He worked 72-hour weeks at a noodle factory, earning about $5 per hour with no pay for overtime.

After two years in the near-sweatshop conditions at Rama Foods, Luis Osvaldo Diego Garcia finally had enough.

Call it blackmail or sheer chutzpah, the immigrant worker from Mexico confronted his boss with an ultimatum: Either the Thai rice noodle factory would pay for his overtime, or he would report the company to the state.

Fearing trouble, Garcia's employer agreed to hand over $5,000.

But on Nov. 23, 1996, the afternoon Garcia was supposed to collect, he simply vanished. (http://www.sbsun.com/news/ci_3300633)

See, real CSI's don't get all the necessary evidence within an hour.  Often it takes a REALLY long time.

Next time I order a bowl of Pho, I'm gonna be extra careful in checking out what's actually in it.
