Title: University ready for flesh-eating zombie attack
Post by: THUNDERDUCK on October 02, 2009, 03:12:25 PM
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - No one expects a zombie apocalypse. But the University of Florida is making sure officials are ready for a night of the living dead, just in case.

The school has a plan for responding to the undead on its Web site among outlines for dealing with hurricanes and pandemics.

The exercise lays out how university officials would respond to attacks by "flesh-eating, apparently life impaired individuals." It notes that a zombie outbreak might include "documentation of lots of strange moaning."

A University of Florida spokesman says the exercise was written by an employee to "add a little bit of levity" to disaster preparation discussions.

^Hey, why did my school never plan for zombie apocalypses???? Such poor disaster management skills...:P

I wonder what sort of guidelines they can issue. I can think of a few.

1) Do not stay in confined areas. Give yourself a lot of running room.
2) Do not stop to help suspected zombified victims.
3) Bitten individuals who have not yet turned should be confined to a room and barricaded in to prevent risk of infection spreading.
4) Aim for the head.

5) Zombie dismemberment does not always result in a kill XD

First an earlier study (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=20277.0) on a zombie apocalypse and now this? Is there something in the works that we don't know about? Should I get the shotgun and machete ready?

6) Do not try to be a hero. Run away when possible.

Yeah Tuffty, I think we should start stocking up on weapons and train our bodies up to stand a lot of running...or just invest in a bicycle or something else that does not require gas to run. XD
