Title: For some in Japan, a room is their world
Post by: Foxy Brown on January 15, 2006, 11:13:34 AM
One morning when he was 15, Takeshi shut the door to his bedroom, and for the next four years he did not come out. He didn't go to school. He didn't have a job. He didn't have friends. Month after month, he spent 23 hours a day in a room no bigger than a king-size mattress, where he ate dumplings, rice and other leftovers that his mother had cooked, watched TV game shows and listened to Radiohead and Nirvana. "Anything," he said, "that was dark and sounded desperate." (http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/01/13/news/shutins.php#)

If I would have my computer and internet connection that would be easy. Nice way of life. No school. No worries. Nothing. I guess it'll become boring in four years then. :D

Only thing you'd have to worry about (if even that) would be money/income.

As 99% of my work is done via the computer (the rest is holding a screwdriver to repair it  8) ) that would not be to much of a problem.

Reminds me of that episode of Ren & Stimpy where Ren decides to become a hermit then starts going crazy. At the end he gets kicked out of his cave for having imaginary friends.

I doubt this is the picture of his bedroom... because I wonder do they sell Tropicana orange juice in Japan?
and I doubt his room is that dirty.
