I love Football Management sims, and have put good hours in to both of these series. I used to prefer the FIFA series, but now stick to FM. Both are quality games, with demos to check out. You don't have to know a lot about football before playing these (it doesn't hurt obviously).

I'm enjoying a good run with Barca so far, not a single loss. Unlike Madrid, who have Casillas, Ronaldo, and a couple other guys out with injury for months to go (they're in the lower half of the table, HA HA).

So I've gone all 6 months permitted in the demo, without losing a single game as Barcelona. Henrik Larsson has been a great buy, in spite of his age (or real life retirement this week, lul). After the full game drops, I'll be getting Park Ji Sung and Franck Ribery at the start of the winter transfer window. RM is now about 5-6th on the league table, so I doubt they'll be able to catch up to me before season's end.

Playing a big club is fun, but I'm thinking I'll probably manage a smaller team again too. I had a good run with Shanghai Shenhue before, got to the semi-finals in the AFC Cup, won the league in China. Took Newcastle to the top of the PL, and also took Blackpool to the top of the PL. But I'm lazy, rarely ever manage a team more than 3-4 seasons.

i'm still playing 2008... i used to have the 2009 at some point but 2008 is... is just easier to cheat :D

my major proud with FM is that Peru assists to WC 2010 without even trying... oh and also my beloved FM Kettering that is doing well in the premier league with only free transfers :cokecat:

Yeah, I'm pretty incredible. Knocked out of the Spanish cup by Madrid, but I don't care. They got knocked out by Getafe anyway  Still on cruise control to the league win, and the Euro cup too :jerk:

Ribery has been a great buy, he's really man-handling the other teams. Messi is always on, but he's been shit for me. Wrong position maybe, but man.  Park Ji Sung is wrecking lives too. Got a nice 4-5-1 running now :shakeit:

Well, won the Spanish League with 7 games to go, without losing a single game. Won the Champion's Cup too. Decided to sell Henry because of his age, picked up David Villa and Luis Fabiano instead, for about 75m total. Also grabbed Sandro (20yo MC/DMC from Brazil with bitchin stats), and Boruc from Celtic to back-up Valdez. :shakeit:

Ibrahimovic is not happy and wants to leave... LOOOOL SUCKAAAAAAA

Throw the book at him and tell him he can be a waste of money for someone else. I can't believe you're even still paying the man. He's not even good at FIFA10 for me whenever I play as Barca. Just yesterday he was one on one with Cech, did a precision shot, halfway on the power meter works, every time. Zlatan shoots and hits the post which leads to a goal kick. Worthless.

I like the idea of Football Manager, played 07 for a time and as much as being a manager is appealing, I found I just don't have the patience to scroll through player stats and menus only to find my tactics are wrong and always will be. XD

Still undefeated in league, Villa has scored 11 in 7 games, Fabiano has picked up 5 in 5, and Zlatan is just sucking this season, after scoring like 35 last. On cruise control through my Euro Cup group. Picked up some massive wins this season, I'm like 22-4 after 7 games.

Sold Pedro and Marquez.. one not good enough, the other too old. Got so many players, I can rotate every game :jerk: Pique is being a boss, fosho

Yeah, I know. David Villa is completely dominating every match, 52 games so far this season, and 54 goals. :cokecat: I love my formation too, been using it all season to great results
Title: Re: Football Managers HQ

Well then, season is over finally. Villa picked up 60 goals total. I won every single competition this season, which is awesome. With the HUEG transfer budget I got this time around, I've picked up Pato, Guilherme (had him before in another game, was a BOSS), and Fabregas (lol, 100m). Also nabbed Sakho from some French team, because Puyol is about to retire, and a couple ridiculous youngins. I pretty much expect every other team to just give up, this is getting ridiculous. I'm also managing Spain, and we're undefeated in the Euro 2012 group stage, with only 4 games to go. :jerk:

Won the league with only 30/38 games played  On track to win everything again, FUCK YEAH
Cesc is replacing Xavi just swell, Pato & Delhaye are scoring like bosses, and Sahko + Santon (from Inter) and cleaning up the rear.
Undefeated with Spain, too. I'm now ranked as the top Swedish manager of all time, and im about 20th worldwide now.

Check out Sandro from Internacional if you can, worked well for me. Guilherme is at CSKA Moscow, and has great potential. Ribery can be bought for pennies, and has stats similar to Messi. Santon and Sahko will run a bit, but they're doing a fine job. :shakeit:

Babes, won all competitions with Barcelona again. I also won the Euro 2012 with Spain, completely wrecked Croatia in the final. Also on track for the WC in 2014. Most of the best 11, and top player awards for were either Barca or Spain.

I've sold Ribery and Villa now for 55m total. Put Maxwell and Valdez on loan to OM. I picked up Hugo Lloris (best keeper in the world in my game), fuck yeah. Also picked up David Silva, Kerrison (23yo striker, had sold him.. big mistake, became a top scorer in the league lul). Bought a couple ace looking youth players, too. The board gave me 162m for transfers this year, so unreal. Going to milk Zlatan and Xavi for another year or so, then ditch them for some bucks. Bojan, Pato, and Delhaye are all on track to be ridiculous, and they're all only about 23 now.

CANT STOP WONT STOP

Yeah, I'm the greatest manager of all time. Weep at my might.
Cruising to yet another league title, Euro cup tile, U19 title, and almost qualified for the WC2014 with Spain now. I've replaced about half the squad since I started. I'll probably sell Zlatan by the next Winter window. I keep training everyone in new positions :jerk: Pique is being a problem for me, he's picked up over 20 cards this season, and two reds. Outside of that, don't usually pick up many cards. Lloris as my keeper was a great idea, fosho.
Got two youth players that are going to be aces. Both strikers/AMs. The one is only 16, he's the top scorer in the U19 by 2x as many goals as the next guy (my other ace). Even better, my U19 are almost done this season too, with 1 loss, like 3 draws, and the rest wins, with almost no concessions. The players represent virtually the top of all the player stats. It's ridiculous.

So I'm entering my 6th season with Barcelona now. Won everything last season, too. I only have a handful of the original team now. I've neglected Barca At so long, they're way down in the leagues, so I'm sending them Hugo Lloris + Guilherme, Iniesta, and some other good players to get them promoted again.
I picked up Sergio Arsenjo (GK) this season, couple years younger than Lloris with equal stats. Otherwise I'm pumping all my money into building up the B team and youth team.
My U19 won every single game last season, scoring almost 90 goals (and half of those were all by one guy, who just turned 18 now). They're already up to about 15 goals in the first 4 games this season.
I also won the WC2014 with Spain. Now I'm ranked as the top manager of all time, besting Fergie by 20 points.

Cmon guys, I know some of you play!

so i finished my first season with Wolfsburg (actually i only played half of the season) the best is did was to sack a bunch of trainers coz i don't need anyone that owns more that i am, hired some new staff, a couple of players on loan and sold one... and in the end finished struggling with only one real DC ;_;

(http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/6724/wlf.jpg) (http://img534.imageshack.us/i/wlf.jpg/)

3 lost 3 draws and 14 wins (friendly games doesn't count)

edit: Ok so i qualify to the europa league so i need 4 players trained in the club at least 3 years but guess what!!!! i only have a bunch of losers from the B team to choose... FUCKIN FAIL!!!!

While not my biggest or best win, it was certainly lulz. One player on the other team finished with a rating of 1.3, which is the lowest I've ever seen.

I sold Ribery because he was whining / too busy sleeping with teens, bought two excellent players in his stead. Ivica Olic has unbelievable physical stats, and very nice mental ones. He can chase balls down faster than anyone, so awesome..

Overpowered teams can get boring easy. It was nice to completely obliterate everyone using Barcelona, but pushing my way to the top with Shanghai Shenhue was awesome

FCB going well, and my B team is starting to pick up, because I gave them my old starting keeper, and bought some decent players.

The Football Manager match engine is being brought into full 3D with motion captured animations for each player, developed in conjunction with SEGA’s in-house studio, Sports R&D Division. You can now watch your matches in 3D from multiple camera angles, and can re-watch any part of the match by fast forwarding and rewinding the action using a new match time bar that flags the key moments in the game. Carrying the official The F.A. Premier League license, the game features more than 600 club teams, over 700 manager names, and over 13,000 players researched by football fans all over Europe.
The game's developers have expanded on the 3D match engine first introduced in Football Manager 2009, with more animations, stadia, and even pitch degradation. There will be the ability to "shout" from the touchline to change tactics. The feedback from assistant managers and backroom staff has also seen considerable improvement.

I'm playing in the Wales league, entering 3rd season by now. The first season i got no money and a too many salary expenses but i managed to get some free players with potential and avoided relegation \o/. By the second season my whole staff chickened out but that's fine however couldn't hire any players because the stupid boss started the embargo shit just during the transfer time >:| NO PROBLEM since by the end of season (finally) the whole reserve team contracts expired and with that money hired 10 free players (plus a wonderkid that appeared out of the blue) XD. So now after avoiding relegation 2 years in a row, finally team is stronger, is playing good and fighting a place for the Euro.

FIFA Manager 11

Quote
FIFA MANAGER 11 is the 10th edition of the franchise, featuring a vast array of all-new features. Hundreds of improvements to the game have been made across the board with a special focus on its core areas. Introduced last year it also includes a separate online mode where up to 8 players can play against each other over the internet.

The manager still has full control over the management of a football club. In the game you are responsible for the line-up, the tactics and the training of your team – as well as for signing the right players, improving the club facilities and the stadium. Special highlights are the FIFA 3D engine, more than 13,000 original player pictures, the player manager mode, the national team manager mode, the Create-a-Club mode and the Match Prognosis Tool.

I started a new game in Football Manager 2010 as Inter Milan. I sold most of the older players, Eto'o too. I bought up Gourcuff, Suarez, Mata, and have Robinho, Lukaku, Sandro, and a few more on the way at the next transfer window. I'm undefeated so far. I've been running a 4-4-2 diamond, typically cleaning up every match. :thumbup

I figure I'll buy FM2010 now that it's at half-price on Steam.

I haven't played any of these games since Championship Manager 3 and that was like 10 years ago. Might as well see what's changed since then.

2011 is fucking awesome guys, check it.

Still rolling with my Inter from the video. Grabbed Frei for lulz, turned out well. Undefeated thus far, even though Maicon, Motto, and Sneijder are all out

On a related note, FIFA Manager 2011 comes out this week. I've always enjoyed the interface + manager life side a bit more there, hopefully the simulation aspect has improved to match :yep:

So FIFA Manager 2011.. The presentation is nice, for sure. The manager-life is still there, which was always mildly entertaining, and something that FM has lacked. It still suffers from pauses when loading graphics, complex menu navigation, and extremely easy transfers. I really wish they'd do something about the menus, it's probably the biggest turn-off for the whole thing.

UNF UNF FM2011

Loving the new contract negotiation system, and additional options therein, the new player interaction system, and player-agent bit.

I've been managing Bayern, up to December in my first year now. Breezing through the league currently, about to make it out of group in the CL too. Olic won't pass for shit, but he reliably runs the ball into the net every game. Kroos is actually the top rated player in the entire Bundesliga, has nearly as many goals as Olic, and the most assists. I wound up forking over a lot for Lukaku, since Gomez never performs consistently, and Klose is getting up there. Picked up Lichtsteiner (Swiss) for only 6m, and he's been playing better than Lahm. Fixing to grab myself a forward or two this winter break, and a defender to tighten up the back, since Buyten and Demichellis need to be put into the B team soon, along with Klose and possibly Gomez :catglare:

playing FM11 again, i started a game (with several backups just in case) with a low league team, stafford from england (amp knows)

man, started with 10 points deduction because of debts and now finances say my team have like 10 millions... took me 5 years after two quick promotions but good times returned; i hired some good players, doubled the salaries to the rest and now we are ready to the next level (3rd division lol)

buying players is not that difficult in FM11 i just bought 3 spanish dudes with a decent current ability and lot of potential... the thing is that is hella difficult to sell any player D: i wanted to sell my goalie  in a couple of millions but no one offered shit... i mean, no offers for the scotland team goalkeeper? I'm dissapointed and of course is not the only case

in other things my stafford team looks more solid that ever, we sellout 23 games last season in the championship and now the building of a new stadium was announced \o/ i just hope we don't run out of money after i buy this ManU kid XD

ahhhh lost my 3 best players because we couldn't agree to renovate for a reasonable ammount... fuck, i'm not paying 1/3 of my budget just for one player (lol one of then stayed for 9 years)
Title: Re: Football Manager HQ
Post by: shurastriker on May 27, 2011, 08:43:35 PM
finally got bored of my stafford game... is only because players want to renovate for a HUGE salary compared to current contract but because the budget is short i can't do eet T_T the other team that followed me all the way to the championship have my whole budget in 5 players... ... ... not sure if i resign or retire and start all over

no internet for 2 nights... consequence? STAFFORD TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE BABY

lol in the previous season we saved from relegation by an inch so next season i kicked my assistant, hired a new one and promised the title to the board so they opened the wallet like whores they are... only 10 millions in transfers and a dude i bought in mid season because he rated 4 stars of 5 (however one of my new players was pissed coz too many players in his position and shit so i kicked him out of the team) PREMIER LEAGUE AMP... 18 years without cheating :cokecat:

Football Manager 2012 is currently 60% off @ Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/71270 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/71270)

GET SOME :cokecat:

Anyone interested in setting up a JPH!P game? It's easy enough to play online, we just need some times. We could play in an established league (EPL or bust), play out the Euro 2012 (less time-consuming), or create a custom league.

thanks to malachite for the sale tip

Thought I could just give FM2015 a little spin last weekend. 50+ hours of playtime later.. Two leagues win, EL and CL wins, solid squad with talented youth breaking in. Also sold some older/not good enough players, like Lloris, Soldado, and Chadli. Picked up a cool $150m for them. I move to a bigger stadium next season, so my finances will will be dandy then, but I needed a big cash injection after I picked up an unhappy Gotze, Depay, and Lukaku.

More than any year before, though, it took so long to get my tactics correct. I had so many 5+ goal games.. I still get a lot of crazy goals. It's like the keepers' gloves are made from butter.

Best of all: Wenger retired, Mou/Pell/Gaal sacked. England won the Euro 2016, and now Mou is manager.

Still on my Spuds save: 2020 now. Only Eriksen remains from the real team, and he consistently pulls in 8.5+ ratings. I scout youth like a maniac, so my average age is around 20. A couple of my regens are world class now, but they're still on cheap contracts, so I have a ton of cash in the bank. Think I might move to some small club in Germany in a few years, need a new challenge!
