A 19-year-old broke his leg in two places while kicking at a spider in the NSW Southern Highlands. (http://www.theage.com.au/news/National/Man-breaks-leg-while-kicking-spider/2006/01/12/1136956282333.html)

Anger issues?
Lack of calcium and vitamin d?
Scared of spiders?
-
Despite being killed by the kick, I still say the spider won that one. :P

He probably scared of the spider, so he kicked right on the spider as much power as he can, while at the same time hitting the leg against a solid object (wall, floor, etc) and broken his bones.
First of all I think he's stupid... why killing a spider? It's not harmful at all, as well spider helps to keep pest (like mosquitos) away. Second if he has to kill the spider, he could of just take his shoe (or something) and smack it.

I've heard that killing spider causes rain.
-
^I thought it was killing praying mantises.
-
Well there's no mantises in Finland, so we have to get our rain by killing spiders.
-
LMAO. Works for me.
-
I had a tarantula crawl into my room once, i didn't even think they were indigenous to Virginia...anyways, it scared the crap out of me.
but not enough to break my leg.

That thing is huge.
-
is that the same sort of spider that he killed or just a picture of a random big spider to scare us all with? :P
-
Just a generic spider picture that I thought was cool.
The spider in the story was a huntsman, the same breed as the infamous "Clock Spider."
