I like the "~Soyo Kaze ni Yorisoutte~" part, but not the "sexy boy" part. It just sounds stupid... :lol: And I don't usually have a problem with any song titles. It's just like... Sexy boy, wtf. :lol:

I found the song to be pretty much 'meh'. In the beginning it sounded like a kickass track, but then it went to shit. It wasn't even slightly catchy, highly forgettable. No hook at all.
I seriously think Tsunku needs to take a break. He doesn't seem motivated in any way.

What the hell are you guys saying? This song surpasses all since Daichi's Go Girl KNV. I rember saying this on Iroppoi Jirettai, but that one is Daichi's too, and so has the Daichi generic background. However Sexy Boy breaks with that, becoming what everyone has been asking for: "Why MM doesn't sing soungs like Berryz?" / Why Berryz seem to be on Momusu songs?". It's damn cool. Get over it. :D

Well, I wasn't really into Iroppoi, and the Chokkan original was so much better than Chokkan 2. Hands down, the last one that swept me off my feet was The Manpower, and Osaka is still better than Iroppoi and/or Chokkan 2.
Sexy Boy sounds like Tsunku's sort of going back a bit, trying something different again. Okay, 80s may not be new, but for Momusu it is.

the interludes actually sound pretty nice. i like the arrangement too. sounds better than the new rainbow 7 tracks imo.
the 'ippai kitai..' part sounds like a prechorus. that would give the song a good structure to build up to the chorus.. i hope its the prechorus..

I try to avoid the previews myself. I'd rather listen to the full song before I decide.

What the hell are you people talking about? This song is great! Truly, there hasn't been a fast-ish catchy song since Go Girl, and Go Girl was kind of lame. This one isn't. This one kicks Manpower's butt. And there has been a disproportionate amount of lame songs or remixes (chokkan2, manpower, namida) released as singles lately. Stuff that would have really belonged on an album.
But Tsunku was busy giving the good songs (Nanchuu, Tea Break) to other groups, or he was ordered to do so (more likely, because UFA knows MM can't last forever and they want to pimp the other groups). We all know there's only a limited number of good songs he can write in a year. I think the limit is around five songs, myself.

Fuck, this song is mad catchy. I've put this song on loop for almost an hour. I'm such a sucker for these eurobeat-y songs that sound like oldies.

Correction, Kanjani8 is releasing an album, not a single but anyway. It's true that Johnny's fangirls are forced to choose over K8/NEWS/KAT-TUN (which totally makes my heart cry for K8), but... umm, I still don't think that Momusu could win the NEWS single. w-inds. maybe because they don't sell that much anyway nowadays. But "very bad One Piece song" as you said it, is actually freaking good and everyone loves it, besides it's NEWS' last single this year so hell yes fangirls are buying it (including me who is anyway spending my precious money to both versions of K8 album).
Even if they sold bad because of that, isn't it kinda sad to count Momusu's changes according to Johnny's releases *rolls eyes*

I actually think this seems quite promising. The preview could have been a lot worser and I think the pics look quite good. This seems more promising than Chokkan 2 was I think :D
The red lipstick reminds me of DEF. DIVA. The song also reminds me of DEF. DIVA's Sukisugite Baka Mitai (both clearly inspired from the 80's). I really liked DEF. DIVA.... :)

ついにモーニング娘。も記念の２９枚目（つんく♂枚目）ということで、
３月４月のさわやかな風に誘われ全動物たちも浮き足立つこの季節に
ドキドキするほど躍動感のある曲をお届けしよう！と、気合い３重丸の曲が完成しました。
１０人のモーニング娘。が軽やかなステップでパフォーマンスするこの曲。
テーマは「春のつむじ風のようなスピード感」です。
歌や曲調のイメージとして、春の天使がものすごい勢いの風のボードに乗ってやってきた感じで。
歌の主人公は、どこか清楚な感じのするお嬢様が春の海でクルージングしています。
そう簡単に「好き」なったりしないわ！って思ってた女の子がいつの間にやら興味津々。
「まったく興味ないって表情してますが・・・・・」と。
音のコンセプトはちょい歪みの激アッパーです。
スピード感を出す為に通常の感覚よりさらにコンプレッサー強めで
（モーニング娘。は通常からちょっとコンピーですが）、トラックダウンしました。
特徴としては、キックとＢＡＳＳをあまり激突きにしないという部分です。
後は、ギターサウンドが妙に古新(ふるあたら)しなところかな。
はまってます。
そうすることによって、音楽全体のスピード感が出たと思っています。
また何か、思ったことがあったらライナーノーツかＢＢＳの方でＵＰしますね。

Reina-Ai-Miki have more words, but lines are equally split, which makes me proud of Tsunku. The interlude is omg, like a remix. I'm so glad with this new song. It's damn good.

the song is pretty good, quite interesting but a bit repetitive.
The melody of the song (excluding the lyrics) makes me think that the song can be some main theme songs of live action anime (something like Mask Rider).

I'm just not a big fan of the very simple choreography. This whole parapara thing... I don't understand why people who get paid for singing + dancing professionally would have it as 'choreography'. It looks like a 12-year-olds' dancing performance at some school event.

first off, I still think the song is AWESOME :heart: It's so fun and catchy, and really makes you want to stand up and dance along.
now with the dance, it's (much) better than I expected. some parts of it looked a little...."weird", but others looked good and I really want to learn the moves now. rhe girls look awesome as usual, especially in the solo shots and I kind of like how everyone's hair is let down; even though it makes it 'difficult' to tell them apart and they all kind of blend into one big Morning Musume organism. except Koharu and Sayu, of course, due to their natural hair color still being retained.
I agree with someone in another forum who said that using a club-like setting would have been a good idea too.
more color in the PV wouldn't hurt though, perhaps the dresses could have been a little bolder, or just the background so they don't blend in too much with it. the PV looks simple, but in an elegant and nice way. not a boring kind of simple.

You have to be actually in Japan. Using a fake ip works up until you get the DRM licence, then it sees that it's not your real ip.

I just follow the PV and continue practicing. I usually stick with one member to start with first (someone good at dancing, like Ai-chan or Risa, and practice. Then if I find something weird I will watch another member and compare/fix my movement.

LOL i tried the dance too. And i don't know why, but i don't get it.
I haven't problem at all with Para Para, i like it, i easily learned how to para para on 5 songs, and usually i find the dance moves easy to remember.
But on Sexy Boy, i simply CAN'T. :shock:
Maybe i should continue practicing a bit more. Damn the H!P Para Para :lol:

They look less idol, like something else that deserves a serious look with spicy sauce. The result: Amazing :)

I guess it depends on culture - I live in South West United States. It's not just the stockings (although i don't know anyone who wears black stockings who isn't a secretary and gets away with it.). It's specifically black stockings and white shoes. From where I come from that's a major fashion faux pas - it's trashy. And when I think of black stockings, strappy shoes, bloomers, and night gowns or camisoles, I think of "dancers" from the 30's and 40's.

I see black hose, I think Betty Page and pin ups, hose fetishes, Halloween costumes. Maybe the japanese will see it and think it's cool -or maybe it has a different cultural connotation to it. Liked the perf, didn't like the stockings. For me, it wasn't so much the black stockings themselves, but the fact that they wore white shoes with them. Not a good look IMO.

I would've probably liked it alot more if they weren't wearing any stockings at all. But it really didn't bother me that much. And as I stated before, the outfits are alot like the Flappers which was a popular trend during the 1920's and 30's. Reina really shouldn't have worn shorts with it though, it just doesn't work. I want to see a performance using the white dresses from the PV, which I think looked alot better

However, it's definitely clear that, not only the fact of all music selling a lot less than years ago (various reasons), but also the fact that they customers seem to have reduced the "music to buy list" a lot, and now they only focus at one or two artists, and probably download the others. Artists can get in the top10 only with 12.000 copies sold. That was unthinkable one year ago. Breath deeply! JKM had an horrendous first week but thanks to its promotion it kept selling a lot and surpassed the previous one. Chances are there. =)

I don't see how a single being ranked 3rd is bad... that's actually pretty friggin' good.

yeah, the ranking doesn't mean anything anymore, since defdiva could hit weekly no.1 with just 26,000 copies sold. So what rather is interesting is if it can sell more than Choukan2. If it was a summerrelease, it would have bigger chance to sell more than its previous release-->shabondama,JKM and iroppoi had quite good sales compared to other singles from that year.

I don't know if its a current members. I think they are popular enough. I think for the next release, tsunku should go for some old school MM and see how it sells.

I don't think weekly 4th still means DEATH, there are tons of artists who rank worse and still have a record deal o_O Sure MM used to sell tons more and they're dropping down, but it doesn't mean they're DYING.
Nothing wrong with the girls & production & whatever in my opinion, it's just that
JAPAN HAS AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM TOWARDS HELLO! PROJECT
and it's something that CAN'T be fixed easily or by any obvious means such as better marketing etc. It's like trying to make Maki haters love her, completely pointless really cuz they're stubborn bitches. Only thing UFA can do is to try to get cool jobs & such to the girls so that the current fans will be happy & hope that in time there will be a change in attitude. But really, something HUGE would have to happen so that it would be possible any time soon. All we can hope is that Momusu will be "cool" again some day.
In the meanwhile, why not just sit back and enjoy the girls and the tunes?

It'll be nice to see how Berryz's jiriri sales compare to this. The wotas on 2ch are doing this berryz sales campaign too, though God knows how effective it will turn out.
37k is only a few thousand copies below Chokkan2, and bear in mind Chokkan single had this life-sized posters promotion and shit. I knew a friend of mine bought 5 copies of them just to get a Yossi poster. I don't think it's that horrendous of a figure, considering there is no goodies accompanied with the CD.

People just don't want to buy their cd's anymore. Hell most people probably don't like to buy singles of artists they're not big fans of... I've come to believe that single sales do not reflect what the general populus thinks about the song.
Sexy Boy is a infectiously addicting song, but I don't think it will get casual listeners to get up and spend their money on it. They could make one of the greatest H!P songs ever and I doubt that sales would make a significant rise in sales. The only thing I believe can do that is if they add extra goodies that people actually would want.
Some people might think that "illegal" mp3 dling is one of the causes to the drop in sales. As someone who is a fan and someone who dls music, this is true. But if you think about it, people are not going to dl a song if they don't like it. I think it's a good thing because it gets people into the artist relatively cheap and then they spend their money on the things that really matter; like concerts, photobooks, dvds, and other goods. These are the things that get them money. Just look at the crowd in the recent sports fest. The stands were filled with people.
CD sales have been low for a while now, but they are still concidered to be the top female idol group in japan. You can't blame UFA for low cd sales, blame the market that they're selling in.

Seriously the amount of single sold doesn't mean how popular the girls are. Like SITS said, look at how much people attended the H!PSF. As well look at the concerts each group in H!P had.
The low CD sales is a problem to many artists in Japan, as well as others around the world. There are people who are willing to buy the CDs, but there are also people who are willing to just download illegal mp3 files and never buy any CDs. So whether sales = popularity is not a question at all.
Back to MM, really they aren't droping their popularity at all. Think about how many people in Japan and in Asia knows about them. Furthermore look at how many girls are still want to audition MM and become one of the members.
So in conclusion MM (as well as other artists in H!P) still rules!!!

^ i guess you guys are right, idol sales are much lower than the "golden era of idols". Taking this into account, 4th with 40k ish sales is pretty damn good. In fact 40k sales mark is pretty respectable, since the average sales for the number one spot is close to 55,000 (i've done the maths for the last 5 - 6 months).
