Title: South Korean man busted for stealing 1,200 pairs of shoes from funeral mourners
Post by: Foxy Brown on March 06, 2010, 06:11:42 PM
A man, known only as Park, was arrested in Seoul, South Korea this week for allegedly stealing 1,200 pair of shoes from funeral mourners.

According to police, Park disguised himself as a mourner and entered scores of funeral homes and picked through shoes other mourners had removed.

It is a Korean custom to remove shoes during a funeral.

Park would either take off his own shoes and put on a more expensive pair and walk away, or simply grab whatever he felt was valuable footwear. (http://www.examiner.com/x-38158-Cultural-Oddities-Examiner~y2010m2d18-South-Korean-man-busted-for-stealing-1200-pairs-of-shoes-from-funeral-mourners)
