I was going to post this after I finished posting my Broken Destiny fic (so pray for a me having a good internet connection for the next few days.. :P)... but then...I think I'll just have to post first the trailer that I made..ahahaha...kindly comment if you want me to post it here..lol

Cogi, this looks like it's gonna rock the house. I'm (as anybody would know by now xD) a huge Rika (and IshiYoshi) fan, so I'm really interested in your work in general. I have yet to read Broken Destiny (still trying to get through some of chaptered fics here at JPH!P :jphip:), but it's on my reading list, as well as all of your one-shots. I remember seeing this fic in your blog, but I didn't check it out yet... I'll definitely follow it here though ^____^
I loved the trailer. Rika as a closet fangirl? :w00t: And there's a big possibility of IshiYoshi here. Truthfully, I wouldn't mind Charmikitty one bit. So bring them both on. :pimp:
It's just... :lol: Rika being a Rokkies fangirl, I can't quite picture it yet. LOL. I've always seen Sayu, Reina & Eri as the fangirls, at one point or another... because Rika tops them all :theking
Anyways, I'm looking forward to reading the story. Please post first chapter soon. :twothumbs

Chapter 1
“Ohayou!”
“Another boring day in office… “
“Ohayou, Ishikawa-san. The president wants to see you in his room.”
“Hai…”
“Now, what does he want? We just talked earlier.”
A girl with long, black hair walked slowly towards the room with a large wooden door at the end of the hall. The secretary greeted her politely. She gave out her best smile and went straight inside.
“Ohayou, dad!” She greeted the older man seated in a large glass table in the middle of the room with her ever energetic tone.
“Ohayou…” The man replied while giving a stern look at the new comer. “How many times have I told you not to call me that while we’re in the office, Rika?” The girl blinked several times before giving a light chuckle after she had seen her father’s smile.
“Sorry PRESIDENT Ishikawa, I forgot…” Rika played along, and went directly towards one of the vacant seats in front of the president. “So, you wanted to see me?”
“Yes, and I’ll go straight to the point. You will be facilitating our branch in Saitama. You’ll stay there for at least a month.” Rika’s eyes went wide. She was shocked but she didn’t utter any word. Any way, it’s not the first time her father surprised her like this. At least it’s much better than the last time her father sent her away. She stayed in Hokkaido for at least three months and helped manage their newly built company to become stable. But in Saitama, it’s already been well established and it can survive on its own. As far as she knew, there’s a really good employee behind that branch’s success.
“Hai, I’ll go there as soon as possible… but” Rika paused for a while. Her father always sent her to one of their branch whenever there’s a problem, it’s newly built or it’s on the brink of closing. But the Saitama branch was one of their strongest branches, “but why are you sending me there? As far as I know, it’s doing well in the market.”
“Well, there’s no problem. I just want you to check it and at the same time, learn some new things. It’s one of the best branches of the Ishikawa Group of Companies, so this time you will be there not as a facilitator but just like a newly acquired employee learning from the company. Of course, there will be occasional meetings and other office works but just let them handle it, alright?” Mr. Ishikawa said warmly. He was glad that he had a very helpful, compassionate and intelligent daughter. Even though he wasn’t blessed with a son, Rika will definitely become the president of his company without any comments from the other stock holders.
“Yes, it’s good to be the follower sometimes. So, when will I go there?”
“Two days from now. I guess that time is enough for you to pack your things?”
“2 days? Well, it’s better than the last time when you told me that I was going to Hokkaido the next day.” Rika laughed. He father can be really sadistic sometimes. The president just smiled at her daughter. Rika stopped laughing and stood up. “So, then, I’m going back to work now. I’ll just do my packing when I got home. Have a good day… “

Rika immersed herself with all the paper works that morning. When it comes to work, she can get pretty serious about it. But there’s one thing her father or other members of their company doesn’t know about her. All they know was that she graduated Magna Cum Laude in her college degree three years ago and she’s helping the company even though she’s still in high school before. Only her best friend knows what she’s thinking inside… and what her real personality is? Its 5 minutes before lunch. She’s sorting her papers on the table and transferred it to a nearby desk. She went to her small refrigerator and got herself a salad and some spring rolls for lunch. Rika put it on her table beside her laptop. She was about to type something on the keyboard when her phone rang.
“Moshi-moshi?”
“Rika-chan! I’ve uploaded my new fic. It’s just a one shot but be sure to comment on it!” Came a girly voice. Rika smiled. It was her best friend; the one who introduced her to this kind of world when they were in high school. At first, she thought of it as a ‘balancing agent’ to her busy life. Studying hard and helping in her father’s company at such a young age is hard. She needed something to help her lessen the stress and Ayumi showed her that. As the years pass by, that certain ‘world’ became a part of her. She never thought of it as a way to lessen her stress but as a part of her life. Her day wouldn’t be complete without it; the world of blogging and fandom.
“Sure! I was about to log in. Hey!!!! I’ve downloaded something!!!” Rika gave a suppressed squeal. It’s already noon and her secretary is on her lunch break but she can’t let down her guard.
“What is it?”
“You’ve heard about the latest concert of the ‘Three-Tums’ last week right?”
“Yes, I know that its Tanaka’s birthday special but I still didn’t read what happened in that concert.”
“Well, Maki Goto surprised Reina!!! When Sayumi and Eri was singing happy birthday, Maki went out from the back stage and gave Reina a gift. You should see how Eri glared at Maki!!! KYAAAH!!!! It’s pure jealousy!!!”
“EYAAAHHH!!! NICE!!!!” Ayumi squealed simultaneously with her best friend. Before, she was the one who’s so into this kind of fandom. She was the louder type of fan and Rika, the subtle type. They began from anime and then it evolved into J-pop. And now, it was the other way around. Her friend developed her ‘squealing’ voice so now she’s louder than her. And she let her be, for it’s the only way Rika was enjoying her childhood youth that was snatched by the company. She might look mature but deep inside, there’s still the little child who wants to have fun and have a normal, happy life. “Ahahaha, but sad to say, you know that I’m not a TanaKamei fan. I’m more of a TanaShige fan… but it’s cool. Why was Maki there? She’s a soloist from Avex Trax right?”
“I have a theory! You know that Yuki Goto and Koki Tanaka were from Johnny’s right? Maybe Koki told Yuki that his younger sister idolizes his older sister. And that’s why Maki decided to go in that concert.”
“Hey, you’re good! It’s possible… I smell something…”
“What?” Rika queried.
“A new fic!!!! Ahahaha… I’m going to make a love triangle between those three!” Ayumi excitedly squealed.
“And how about Sayumi? She’s your favorite right?”
“Hmmm… How about making it a Maki-Reina and Sayu-Eri fic then? Ahahahahaha!!!” Rika removed the receiver from her ear for ten seconds. That’s the rate that Ayumi’s incoherent words last every time she thought of new ideas for writing a fic. She took a bite from her salad and logged in on her blog site. She quickly clicked the linked to Ayumi’s blog account.
“I’m going to read your entry now. OHHH!!!!! It’s OhYass!!! HARHARHAR!!!” Rika laughed like a psychotic killer over the phone. She didn’t care whether her secretary will hear her or not. She’s so into her own world right now to be thinking of anything.
“Hahaha… I know you will like it… Comment!!! I need a really good evaluation from that!!!”
“Sure… I’ll give you a ‘novel’ type of comment. I’ll call you when I get back home ok?”
“Ok! Happy reading!” Rika put the receiver back. Her friend was a good writer. Even though she was gifted with intelligence, what she lacks was an artistic mind. Surely, she can write but it lacks some elements of a good story. Ayumi was a vivid writer. Whenever she reads her story, she can easily visualize what was happening in the story as if she was watching it from the television. But her story? It looks like a high school student wrote it. She can’t describe the scenes well no matter how hard she tried. The readers can easily see where her story was heading; her story was predictable. That’s why always gave her ideas to her best friend so that she can write it better. She occasionally writes fics but it’s mostly one shots and in the comedy genre. Rika was satisfied with just reading and giving comments as of now.
When she finished reading, and giving her ‘novel’ comment to her best friend, she checked other forums of her favorite girl group. She was having the time of her life reading the two groups, namely the TanaKamei and TanaShige, fighting over a forum. She’s a TanaKamei fan but she won’t do things like that. She’s satisfied being a ‘lurker’ of that forum. Rika glanced over the clock near the door.
“Oh, lunch break is almost over… I better check whether she has a new fic or not.” Rika typed in the address bar, her favorite writer’s URL. She was overjoyed when she saw a new entry.
“I’ll just copy this! I’ll read it at home.” Rika opened the notepad and pasted the text in there. She saved it and logged out of the web. She stood up and washed her plates and utensils before going back to her desk to resume her work.
“I’ll better remove those foods before I’ll go away.

Rika went straight to her room when she arrived in their house. Her father thought that she will pack her things right away but he was wrong. Rika was excited to read the new fic of her favorite writer. She locked her door and opened her laptop. She clicked ‘Documents’ and opened the file named: ‘new fic’. Rika finished it quickly and called her best friend.
“Ayu!!! My favorite writer has a new fiiiiiiiiiiiccccccc!!!”
“I guess it’s a TanaKamei fic right?”
“YES!!! How did you deduce that?” Rika curiously asked.
“Well, it’s easy, your tone is different. You have a high energy when it comes to TanaKamei and OhYass fics than in other pairings.”
“Ooh, is that so? Anyways, the story’s great.”
“It always is…” Ayumi cut off. “So, what’s the story this time?”
“It’s a TanaKamei version of Taiyou no Uta, but of course... there are differences though she just uploaded chapter 1.”
“How did you know that it’s a TanaKamei version of Taiyou no Uta when it’s just the first chapter?” Ayumi asked.
“Well, based on the first scene… It’s almost the same.. and I remember Kuwagata said that the next fic will be a TanaKamei one.”
“Ahh, I see. And? Have you already commented? You’re always giving me lengthy remarks but you’ve been following that writer for three years now and you still haven’t said anything?”
“I’m satisfied being a lurker.”
“C’mon! Sometimes, writers’ write because they know that there are people who reads their stories. Others, like me for example, just write what we want to express. We don’t care whether someone or nobody will read them.”
“But you always require me to comment on your work.” Rika sarcastically cut in.
“That’s different! It’s because most of my works are based on your ideas. I was just checking whether what I wrote is close to the story inside your mind. Your stories are wonderful. You just need to express them more. It will take some time. Remember, practice makes it perfect!”
“Sure, I’ll practice more. Oh by the way,” Rika remembered something she should have said earlier, “I’m going to Saitama two days from now. I’ll stay there for at least a month. Would you want to go shopping with me tomorrow? That is, if you’re free.”
“Hai, I’m free after lunch. Let’s meet in the usual place.”
“Ok, I’ll pack my things now. See you tomorrow!”
“Ja!”
Rika didn’t move from her position. She looked at the large bag near her cabinet and sighed. She’s not in the mood to pack her things right now. She decided to do it after dinner. For now, she will do what Ayumi’s saying to her. She will try to comment on someone else’s story. She re-read again the story from the notepad.

CHAPTER 1:
“She looks like a minor no matter how I look at her. I’m going to get her.” The officer released the lock of his seatbelt and opened the car door. There’s a curfew for minors; they must be inside their homes from midnight until 4 in the morning. Those who will not comply will be arrested. A much older looking policeman seating on the other seat tried to stop the leaving officer.
“Wait! Leave her alone. Her auntie informed us before about her situation.”
“What situation?” The young officer seemed interested in what his sempai will tell him.
“I forgot about it… but… she can only come out at night. She has a certain kind of sickness, something like that.”
“Ohhh…” The young officer trailed off; his eyes were watching the young lady dribbling and shooting the ball at the basket.

The young girl remained at the court until the wee hours of the morning. She was drenched in sweat as she tried to catch up her breath. The girl went to the nearby bench where her bag was located. She rummaged her things inside it and got her towel and her water jug. She emptied her fourth water jug in one sitting and wiped her face after that. The girl looked at her watch; it’s almost sunrise. She put all of her things inside her bag and stood up to go home. There’s no need to rush, her home is the two-storey house near the hill where the court can be clearly seen from her room.
When she arrived inside her room, the girl immediately walked towards her window. She can see that the sun was starting to rise. Her eyes quickly wandered towards the court that she left. She waited patiently for ‘that’ person to come. She pulled down a special cover on her windows as the sun rose higher on the sky. Her eyes widened with anticipation as she saw the person that she’s waiting for. She watched silently over her window the girl who was using the court she left earlier. She smiled inwardly as the girl gets frustrated over missed shots or getting happy whenever her three-pointers go in the basket.
She looked up at the shining sun. She always dreamt that she’s playing her favourite sport with that girl under the sun. Her smile vanished. That day will never come for her. The girl that she’s watching already went on her own way. She stood up and went back to her bed to lay her tired body. She’ll wake up when the sun already disappeared from the sky.

“Konnichiwa!” A girl wearing a uniform said after getting inside the house. It’s not her house but she considered it her ‘second’ home for she always comes here to visit her best friend. The lady just smiled and continued with her painting.
“Hey… you’re early today. Did you skip your last subject?”
“No, even though I wanted too because she’s really boring. Something came up and she dismissed us early.” The girl replied. She walked towards the lady wearing a colorful apron; thanks to the different paint marks on her white apron, and looked at the canvass. “Sugoi! You’re really good at painting nee, aunt Kaori…”
“Thank you, Sayumi. Now, go up and check whether she’s awake. I need to focus here.” The girl nodded and went upstairs. She went directly to the door on the left side of the staircase. She opened the door slowly, making sure not to make any sound. She closed it and tip-toed her way towards the bed where her sleeping friend lies.
“Oi! Wake up sleepy head!!!” The girl jumped over the figure under the sheets and put all of her weight on it.
“MOU!!! Shige-san!!! You’re heavy!”
“Hahaha… gomen.” The girl moved away from her still drowsy friend. “Come on Eri! The sun had already set so let’s have fun!” When Sayumi saw that her friend still wanted to visit dreamland, she pulled out the covers and grabbed her friend by her feet. “C’mon, I don’t want to do this to you but you’re forcing me to do it!”
“Sayu… I’m still sleepy… Please… STOOOPPP!!!” Eri was about to close her eyes when Sayu pulled her. She grabbed some of the sheets but it’s not helping her at all. Sayumi’s pulling her out of her bed and then a loud crash was heard.
“Itai… You’re really mean!” Eri sat up on the floor. Thankfully, her bed was somewhat low so it’s not that painful.
“Hai!” Sayumi answered using her cutesy voice. “ Gomen but I just did that because you’re wasting our precious time! Let’s go out and play.”
“It’s Saturday tomorrow, you don’t have any classes. You can stay up late.”
“I plan on sleeping early this night for my beauty rest.” Eri raised her eyebrow on her friend. She can see that her friend was just joking. She might be narcissistic but Sayumi will do anything for her; even skip her precious beauty rest just to spend some time with her best friend.

Rika was looking forward on the next chapter. She watched Taiyou no Uta last summer and she knew that the next scene will be her favorite; that is, if ‘she’ will include that cute part or her version will be different. Rika logged in on her blog account. She will comment to that author for the first time in three years.
Charmy: Hi! I’ve been lurking in your site for the last three years. I love the fics that you’re writing specially the TanaKamei ones. Your latest installment is cool. I hope you include the scene where ‘Eri’ will chase ‘Reina’ (the guy). It’s my favorite part. Can’t wait for the next chapter! Great job!
Rika pressed the ‘post’ button. It’s really short compared to what she’s been writing to her friend but at least, she made a comment. She was smiling inwardly for she knew that her best friend will treat her tomorrow because of the ‘milestone’ she achieved.

Chapter 2
Rika was unpacking her things in her new room; her room for a whole month. It was an apartment by their company for those employees who came from far prefectures. Her father arranged everything before she went in there. There was a 42 inch HD television coupled with large speakers and a DVD player; a black leather couch and a sophisticated center table in the living room area. The refrigerator was filled with different kinds of foods and drinks. There’s also a gallon of vanilla ice cream on the freezer. Her room was the best room that she had on her trips. Her queen sized bed was as soft as her real bed at home. The pillows were made from synthetic fibers, which were as soft as cotton or feathers, without her worrying to have an asthma attack. The bed sheets used were as smooth as silk but its thick enough to withstand the cold air given off by the air conditioner.
Rika sat on one side of the bed and got her keitai. She smiled at the cute pink accessory hanging at the side of it. As she predicted, Ayumi treated her to a restaurant and gave the accessory for commenting on someone’s work besides her. She typed a mail; one for her father and the other to Ayumi telling that she arrived safely at the new place. She opened her laptop and checked whether there’s something new about her favorite group, the ‘Three-Tums’, and to check if there’s a new fanfic on the forum.
She spent a full hour browsing the web, downloading new videos and reading new fics. She was getting hungry for it’s almost noon but before she decided to go downstairs, she checked whether her favorite writer has updated her fic. And she did. She was happy to see a new post entitled ‘chapter 2 but before reading it, she checked the comment’s page on her previous post. There was a reply.

Thank you for ‘secretly’ following me all this time. I’m glad that you’ve come out of your shell. And about your request, I’ve already uploaded the next chapter. I hope you will comment again.
Rika smiled as she read the reply. She clicked the back button and opened another window. She went to a site of her favorite group to download new videos while she was reading the new chapter.

Chapter 2
“You’re going to play again? I’ll not let you go until you’ve eaten your dinner.” Eri’s auntie said as she saw the two coming down the stairs holding a basketball. She laid her painting tools on a table, removed her apron and went to the kitchen to prepare their dinner.
“Of course we’ll eat first! I haven’t eaten anything since breakfast.” Eri laughed. He put the ball on their couch and went to the kitchen to help her aunt. Sayumi considered Eri’s house as her second home so she also helped in preparing dinner. When all was settled, the three of them sat on the dining table. They stayed for thirty minute in the table because they enjoyed their conversation. Sayumi was telling them that she was picked as the muse of their section for the coming Sports Festival in their school. Eri got excited over the news that she was choked because of eating and squealing with joy at the same time. When the meal was over, Eri picked up the ball and their bags before opening the door.
“We’re going out now!”
“Ok, take care! The sun will rise at 5 in the morning. Be sure that you’re here by then.”
“Don’t worry aunt Kaori, I’ll make sure she gets home safely.” Sayumi reassured. Eri pulled her friend out of the house and they head towards the court. The two played a game; the most number of shots made at the free-throw line within 60 seconds, wins. And 5 seconds before the time expired, Eri’s shot went into the basket, tying her score with Sayumi. All she needed now was another shot to be declared as a winner. But her concentration was destroyed when she saw a familiar person walking on the other side of the street.
“3….. 2….. 1! Time’s up!!” Sayumi screamed. Eri hasn’t thrown the ball on the basket. She stayed there, motionless for a couple of seconds. “Earth to Eri! Don’t worry about it; at least we’re tied right?”
“Hold this for a while.” Eri gave the ball to Sayumi and ran outside to chase the girl.
“Hey! Where are you going? Wait for me!” Sayumi got their bags on the bench and ran after her fleeing friend.
A girl wearing a uniform, with a yellow cap, was oblivious that someone was running after her. She was listening to her iPod when Eri tackled her on the ground.
“Itai… hey, would you watch where…”
“Kamei Eri desu!” Eri said energetically. The other girl was bewildered over her sudden outburst.
“Huh?!?”
“My name’s Kamei Eri.”
“So?” The girl retorted. She was slowly getting irritated by this girl.
“You can call me Eri… or Eririn. I don’t mind at all.”
“Look …” The girl glared at Eri. She didn’t know what to do; whether to call the police to help her, or to help this girl who looked like she just escaped from a mental asylum.
“My favourite colors are pink, gray and white… My favourite foods are spaghetti and yogurt… not spaghetti WITH yogurt... that taste’s bad” The girl didn’t have a time to say anything for Eri always interrupts her.
“Ma…matte..”
“I want to become your friend!”
“Eh?!? Nani?” The girl’s eyes opened wide. This ‘crazy’ girl just popped up out in the blue, and now she’s asking to be her friend.
“I want to become your friend!”
“Cho… chotto matte…”
“My hobby is reading books and I’m good at running… my favourite sport is basketball. I want to be your friend…”
“Sumimasen… I’m sorry about that… we’re going now.” Sayumi appeared from behind and apologized to the girl. She pulled her friend away.
“Sayu! What are you doing?!”
“That should be my line. Why did you attack that girl?

“Yeah, you’re just introducing yourself.” Sayumi stopped pulling Eri and faced her. She tried to imitate Eri. “My favourite foods are spaghetti and yogurt… not spaghetti WITH yogurt.. that taste’s bad” Sayumi reverted to her old self. “That’s so lame, you know that?”
Eri watched her friend imitating her. She just realized how stupid she looked in front of that girl. “I look stupid…. WAAAHHH!!!! WHY DID I DO THAT?!? Why didn’t you stopped me earlier?!?”
“Baka! You’re a fast runner! I had a hard time catching up with you.”
“But why did you hear what I’ve said?”
“Because you’re so loud when you become overjoyed with something!” Eri was stunned. Sayumi sure knew a lot about her; even the things that she didn’t know about herself. She has been her friend for 6 years now, make that her ‘only’ friend ever since coming to her aunt’s house in the Yamaguchi prefecture. Sayumi looked at her seriously.
“I was a little bit jealous over there.”

Rika proceeded with her unpacking after lunch, while downloading new videos and stuffs. Her room has a broadband connection so she’s ‘exploiting’ her new laptop for her old one just broke down two months ago. She didn’t throw or sell it to a recycling center but she kept it in her room because of its sentimental value. She received her first laptop from her dad when she was a freshman in high school. It’s larger and heavier than her current laptop and it doesn’t have ‘Wi-Fi’ access yet, but thankfully, it’s equipped with a modem that lets her browse the internet. Thus, her ‘fan-girling’ progressed, with the help of Ayumi of course. She has a locked cabinet inside her room. It contains hundreds of concert DVD’s of various artists and Anime series along with her backup data DVD for her downloads in the net. And now that she will be gone for a month, she brought at least 10 blank DVD’s for all downloads she will do while staying in Saitama.
She burned the recent J-drama where the main characters are the ‘Three-Tums’. She prepared some snacks before watching what she downloaded on the DVD. The series lasted for six hours so it’s already dinner time when she rose from the couch. She haven’t read the description of the series (a thing she always did whenever she downloaded something that has to do with her favorite groups) so she was shocked that its story revolved on a group of five girls gifted with psychic abilities. She learned that aside from ‘Three-Tums’, Ai Takahashi and Risa Niigaki of ‘Futari’ were there also, and all of them gave her a ‘nice’ time screaming her heart out. If it weren’t for the sound proof wall, then her neighbors might have already knocked on her door to check why she’s screaming.
And that’s how she spent her first day in Saitama. About her first ‘working’ day, due to her inability to sleep the night before because of the terror that the series gave her, her usual arriving time at the office, which is 20 minutes before the time, was reduced to 5 minutes. She had to literally imitate ‘The Flash’ to get there on time. She was greeted with respect as soon as she came inside their office.
“Good morning Ms. Ishikawa, welcome to our branch!” A man wearing the usual office tuxedo appeared from a corner and greeted her. She knew this man from the annual year-end meeting set by her father. The success of this branch was partly because of him and the kind of work management he’s implying.
“Good morning too, Mr. Nishida! I’ve seen last month’s sales report and I want to congratulate you for being the highest earning branch again. You have good policies and great workers.” Rika extended her hand and congratulated the president of the Saitama branch, who is only 5 years older than her father.
“But the best one is still the main branch, and I guess, that’s because you and your father are really good in handling people and managing the company. I’m really honored that you will stay here for a month, even though you’re here like a trainee.” The man smiled. Whenever there’s a meeting on the main branch, he always makes it a point to talk with Rika. He was intrigued at first when he learned that a high school student was the reason why the main branch was doing well in the market. The moment Rika first spoke in the 1st quarter meeting years ago, he was awed by her ingenuity and superb logical thinking to find a suitable solution to the problems presented, that even some of them thought it’s impossible at first. From that moment he respected the girl and made it a point to talk with her whenever possible. He considered her his daughter too.
“So, shall we start our orientation?”

Mr. Nishida started the day by introducing Rika to each department heads and their staffs. He also explained the rules and regulations of their branch. It was Rika’s turn to be impressed for they were following the Theory Z; one of the theories of management where the management integrates the positive features of Japanese and American firms. The rest of their branches, including the main branch is following the ‘Scientific Management of Taylor’ where the management determines the best way to perform the needed tasks and what are the job outputs to be expected. Also, they get the best person for each task and further train him to do the job properly. Even though they have a different type of management, they can still follow the mission and vision of the company.
When lunch break came, Mr. Nishida treated Rika on their cafeteria. Even though its break time, they were still discussing things related to their work; from the SWOT Analysis, to the business plans. At the back of Rika’s mind, she was somewhat sad. Sad that her break time was still used in work. That her precious ‘on-line’ time was taken away from her.
“I’m going to show you your own office where you will stay for the month.”
“Ehh? I have my own room here? But I thought I was just a trainee?” Rika joked. She knew that her father or even Mr. Nishida wouldn’t allow her to share with someone else’s room. After all, she was still the CEO of their company.
“Hahaha, of course you do. You’ll still do your paper works and stuffs while following our policies and most of the time, you’ll be a spectator on how we do things here. Now, let’s go.” Mr. Nishida brought Rika to a small room. It’s a normal office room; a table with two chairs in front and a couch near the door. There’s also a computer on one side of the room coupled with a 4-in-1 device with printer, scanner, copier and fax machine. It’s a lot smaller than her real office where she had a private kitchen and CR.
“It’s not as cozy as your office…”
“But it has the basic things I need for my work. It’s alright with me. Thank you.” Rika cut in. Mr. Nishida smiled and walked back towards the door.
“Your secretary will come when the break’s over. She will notify you about the schedules and what you will do here.”
“Hai, arigatou.” Rika sat on her chair when Mr. Nishida closed the door. Because she was in a hurry earlier, she forgot to bring her precious laptop. She looked over the computer longingly.
“No! Bad idea… That computer is for office work only! I won’t fall over this temptation!”
Rika browsed some papers over her table. She was having a hard time understanding what she read because that TanaKamei fic that she read last night was plaguing her mind. She thought of possible things that will happen in the next chapter; one version was TanaKamei and the other, KameShige. She was so into her world that she didn’t notice that someone was inside her room.
“Ano… good afternoon Ms. Ishikawa.” Rika blinked many times at the short-haired girl in front of her. “Are you feeling well?”
At that Rika ‘awoke’ from her fantasy. “Ahhh… good afternoon. Sorry, I didn’t notice you. How can I help you?”
“I’m Yaguchi Mari, your secretary.” The girl smiled.
“Oh, is that so? Mr. Nishida said that you will orient me with the schedules and other things.”
“Hai, I’ve brought your schedule here.”
Mari picked up her notebook and enumerated to Rika her schedule for the rest of the day. She also instructed Rika to push the number 1 button in the intercom if she wanted to contact her. Rika learned that she needed to attend the three o’ clock meeting. They finished the ‘orientation’ at around 2:30 in the afternoon. She stood up and went to the meeting room. There’s a large oval table in the middle. At the other end of the room, there’s a podium with microphone and a white board that can also serve as a ‘screen’ for the projector. She sat in one of the chairs but immediately stood up when she heard the door open. She saw a blond-haired girl enter the room.
“Good afternoon.” Rika said enthusiastically. The girl stared at her for a moment before nodding.
“She didn’t probably know me. I didn’t see her earlier.”
The girl sat on the opposite side of Rika. She was silent all the while. Rika wanted to speak with her but it seems that the girl was thinking something and didn’t want to be bothered. At last, Mr. Nishida came.
“Yoshizawa-san, glad you can make it to the meeting.”
“I made sure that I will finish my business trip before lunch time.” The girl replied. Rika looked back and forth towards the girl and Mr. Nishida.
“Oh, by the way, this is Ms. Yoshizawa Hitomi, our overall area manager. She’s your version here” Mr. Nishida winked at Rika. She understood it.
“So, she’s the reason that this company is doing really well.”
“Glad to meet you.” Rika said and extended her hand for a hand shake. “I’m Ishikawa Rika from the main branch, I’ll be staying here for a month.” Just saying her surname made the girl’s eyes widen from shock.
“Gla... glad to meet you to.”
The meeting started at exactly three and ended at exactly five. Nothing much happened during that meeting except that Hitomi can’t look straight at her face whenever she’s saying anything. “It must have been quite a shock to her. She didn’t greet me formally when she first entered.” Rika smiled to herself.
When she entered her apartment, the first that she did was to eat her dinner. Then, she opened her laptop and checked whether there’s a new chapter on that ‘Taiyou no Uta’ version of Three-Tums. There’s no update yet, but a lot of people have commented on it.

Chapter 2.5
“I’m already late for dinner but I don’t mind. I will make sure that I’ll be greater than those bigheaded girls. Only Risa and Ai believe are the ones who believe in me in that team… I’ll show them. I’ll rise up as a great point guard.” Reina thought as she was tidying up the gym. She stayed behind even though their practice was already finished 2 hours ago. Also, every morning she’s playing in a basketball court near their house to improve her basketball skills faster.
When she was already done, she turned off the lights and locked the door. She went towards the guard house and gave the key before getting her iPod and putting the earphones to her ears. It will be a good 15 minute walk from her school to her house. She passed the basketball court and saw that there were two girls playing. She smiled inwardly. Basketball wasn’t really her thing. She likes volleyball before but after bumping to Ai and Risa a year ago, it became her sports. She continued walking forward, her head slightly ‘moving’ to the tune of the alternative song she’s listening when suddenly, someone bumped into her and made her fall to the ground.
“Itai… hey, would you watch where…”
“Kamei Eri desu!”
“Huh?”
“Who the heck is this girl?”
“My name’s Kamei Eri.”
“So?”
“This is weird. Am I in some reality show? Are there hidden videos here? I don’t know this girl!”
“You can call me Eri… or Eririn. I don’t mind at all.”
“Look …”
“Can’t you notice my glare?! I’m really hungry I want to go home now!

Reina watched silently as the new comer pulled the girl away. She was stunned by the sudden event. She put the earphones back to her ears (which fell off her ears when she was tackled on the ground) and dusted herself of before continuing her way home. When she got home she quickly went to her room and changed her clothes before going to the dining room to eat. Reina retired to her bed after eating.
“Why does she have to prepare spaghetti for dinner? Now I can’t forget that girl.” Reina thought. She buried her face on her pillows as she tried to forget the girl’s face on her mind. She thought of Ai’s –not-so- funny jokes that she was blabbering during their lunch. She was thinking of Risa’s eyebrow talent during their practice but she still kept hearing that girl’s voice.
“I want to be your friend…” Something inside her was stirred. Hearing that phrase was somehow making her feel at ease. She didn’t know whether she will meet that girl again but… she definitely want to see her. She smiled as she imagined herself tackling the girl on the ground as a revenge on what she did earlier.
“Naahh, I can’t do that… That’s embarrassing… I’ll just talk to her formally…”

Chapter 3
A week had passed and she now fully understands how the management works in there. Good thing that Mr. Nishida provided her with a competent secretary. She learned that Mari’s birthday was January 20, a day after her birthday, and she’s older than her by 2 years. She was really amazed at first when she was introduced to her because her secretary and a famous JPOP idol, being linked to her ‘crush’ Shun Oguri, has the same name and surname. Mari knocked on her door and told her that they will have a luncheon meeting again. In the main branch, they only have monthly meetings or emergency meetings whenever a problem arose but here in the Saitama branch, they make it a point to have a luncheon meeting every week. The conversations were lighter than the regular monthly meetings and it’s not that stressful. It’s like they’re following a rule which states: ‘Prevention is better than cure’ so before any problem emerged, they can prevent it because of the regular meetings held by the management.
She was again, the first one to arrive in the meeting room. Rika can smell the aroma of the cuisine in the other room, and then her stomach grumbled. Good thing that she was there alone and no one heard it or so she thought.
“Good morning. I see you’re hungry already.” Rika froze on her chair. Someone did hear her. She looked towards the door and saw the somewhat ‘stoic’ face of the area manager.
“Good morning too, Ms. Yoshizawa. Yeah, I didn’t take my coffee break earlier that’s why I’m somewhat famished now.”
“I see.” Hitomi replied. She went again to her chair; the one opposite Rika, and sat. “I’m sorry about the incident before. I was thinking about something.” Rika thought about it at first and then nodded. Hitomi was pertaining to their first meeting. For the past week, she often left her room and did some rounds on the office but she can’t see her. Mari said that Hitomi rarely leaves her office, even on lunch breaks. If there were things needed to be done outside, Hitomi’s secretary, Yasuda Kei, was the one doing it. It’s normal in an office environment but for Rika, she will do whatever things she can do besides paper works especially if it involves meeting other people. It’s another way of supervising the company and she can see firsthand whether a department was experiencing difficulty at work.
“It’s alright, I understand.”

Rika was delighted at the Italian cuisine served during their meeting. The Alfredo Bolognese pasta with Pancetta toppings was scrumptious. Coupled with a Black Forest Cake, as a dessert with an ice cold fruit punch, the meeting became silent for a while because all of them were enjoying the delicacies served in front of them. After the meeting, Rika excused herself and went to the rest room to brush her teeth and to re-apply her make-up.
“You were drooling over the foods earlier.” Rika knew that voice. She looked up from the sink and saw Hitomi standing beside her. She was really intrigued by this person. She can make funny comments while staying in her ‘stoic’ face. Hitomi got her toothbrush from her purse and started brushing her teeth too. Rika applied some lipstick lightly.
“You saw that? You’re very observant.” Rika replied. She was about to put her lipstick inside her shoulder bag when she saw something dangling on Hitomi’s purse. “Kawaii!!! It’s a cute pink insect!” Rika’s eyes grew wide. Her façade had fallen off. She showed her ‘fangirl’ side to someone, much worse, to her co-worker. She moved back slowly and cleared her throat. “A… ano… it’s cute.” She said plainly.
“Ahh, it sure is. A friend gave it to me. It’s called a ‘Kuwagata’.”
“Kuwagata?”
“So, this is where she got her username. But why choose an insect? I can understand if her username’s Alien… or ERIen… because she likes Eri…but an insect? Does Eri like insect?”
“You’re in a stance just now.” Rika noticed that Hitomi was looking at her intently.
“Gomen! I just thought of something just now. By the way, where did your friend buy that? I really love pink things.” Rika noticed the girl looked away, as if she was hiding something.
“I don’t know. I didn’t ask her. I’ll better get going now.”

Chapter 3:
“W… why?” Eri stammered. This is the first time that her best friend looked intensely at her.
“Because, you didn’t do that the day we met.”
“Is that it? Come on, you know that I’m an introvert person before. I’m glad that you made me open up like this.”
“Like a turtle coming out of her shell.” Sayumi laughed forcefully. “I remember you squeezed between two cabinets when your auntie introduced you to me. You were really funny that time… till now.”
“Waaah!!!” Eri screamed while remembering the earlier events. “Don’t make me remember what happened earlier. It’s really embarrassing.”
“Now you realized it?” Sayumi sarcastically said. “You know, I wanted to do that to you too before. You’re so mysterious that time; only going out when the sun had already set. Thankfully I didn’t because I would look like a complete idiot and instead, I’ve asked your aunt Kaori to introduce you to me.”
“Hai, arigatou. I’ll follow your advice and ask her properly next time!” Eri joyfully exclaimed. Sayumi frowned.
“EHHH?!? I didn’t say that you can do it! You’re making me jealous… I’m your best friend!”
“Yes, I know. You are the bestest best friend that I ever had. It’s just that…” Eri turned serious. “I can’t explain this feeling growing inside of me whenever I see her. I really wanted to become close to her. I can’t explain it.”
“Dude, are you gay?” Sayumi asked seriously. Eri looked at her with disgust.
“Ehh?!? What are you thinking?! I’m straight, straight… STRAIGHT!!! I just want her to be my friend… OUR friend.”
“I see.” Sayumi smiled at her friend. She noticed that Eri exaggerated a little bit with her response and she can’t look straight into her eyes as well. That’s a sure sign that Eri’s lying or guilty about something. She knew her friend too well.
“Why are you smiling like that?”
“Because you are funny. Saa, let’s continue our game.”

“Yoh!” Sayumi greeted her friend.
“Woah, did you cut class? You’re an hour early today.” Eri rose up from her bed as soon as she saw her friend.
“It’s the first Monday of the month. There’s a meeting. Oh yeah, I have a surprise for you.” Sayumi showed her camcorder to Eri. She went to the television to set it up.
“What are we going to watch?” Eri asked curiously. She sat on the floor beside her friend.
“You will like this, I promise.” Sayumi finished connecting cables and stuffs on the T.V. She switched it on, as well as her recorder. She clicked the video button on the T.V and pressed the play button. Eri’s eyes grew wide from shock. It was showing a class room. But more importantly, the video focused on the girl she always saw playing on the court.
“Her name is Tanaka Reina. Tanakacchi as her friends fondly call her is a sophomore student in our high school, like me. Her close friends are Risa Niigaki and Ai Takahashi, the captain and sub-captain of our Basketball varsity team. They influenced her so she’s practicing really hard to be able to be accepted in the varsity team. Apparently, she likes yakiniku and goes to karaoke frequently, she’s considered as a ‘yankee’ because of her fashion sense, her blood type is O and she was born in Fukuoka last November 11, 1989.”
“Woah, you did all of this for me?!? Thank you!” Eri hugged her friend tightly and due to her excitement she kissed Sayumi. Apparently, Sayumi was suffocating due to Eri’s tight hug. She turned to face her friend to say that it’s enough. But when she did, Eri’s kiss which is supposed to land on her cheek, landed on her lips instead. Both of them were shocked by the incident.
“GOMEN!!! I really didn’t mean it! I was just about to kiss your cheeks, not your lips!”
“I knew it, you’re gay.”
“No, I’m not! It’s your fault for turning around!”
“It’s your fault trying to suffocate me!”
“Oh, I did?” Eri suddenly calmed down and looked at her friend. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean it. You know me when I get excited right? Sorry…”
“It’s ok… So, let us just continue watching it.”

Eri sat down on the court, panting and sweating profusely. She just finished her daily ‘training’ in basketball. She grabbed her bottle of water and gulped it down in one breathing. She lied down on the ground and looked up at the stars.
“Will there be a time for me gaze upon the morning sky?” Eri looked at her wrist watch and saw that she still has a full 20 minutes before sunrise.
“Excuse me, are you okay?”

As Rika clicked the ‘post’ button, someone knocked on her door. She immediately minimized the internet explorer and opened a sales report in MS Excel. She pretended that she was editing some of the graphs present in that report.
“Come in!” Mari opened the door wider and went inside the room. She was holding a light blue colored folder and handed it to Rika.
“It’s the business report made by Ms. Yoshizawa about her business trip in Kanagawa.”
“Thank you very much.” Rika received the folder and waited until her secretary closed the door. Lunch break’s over and she knew she had to resume her work but for some reason, she can’t get enough. She clicked the maximized button. She smiled as she saw that her comment had been posted. She proceeded with reading the earlier comments made by her fellow fangirls/fanboys.

If based on the movies, then in the last scene, that’s the guy… guy= Reina in your fic… There are only two possibilities that I’m thinking… One is that Eri will talk to her (like in the movie) and two, is that Eri will run away (considering she was a shy person at first). “Woah, they’re like Ayumi and me…” Rika blurted. She logged out of her account and went to a different site, her best friend’s blog. She looked over it and saw that it her friend had another fic… and this time, it’s a comedy fic about OhYass. Rika became teary eyed for she was trying her best to constrain herself. After finishing it, she clicked the ‘comments’ button.

SUUUUUUUUUGGGGOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!! That one was really unexpected. At first I thought that Ohkura’s mom was slow…. You know, Mari only looked like Yassan in some angles, not totally for they are not twins or anything, but hey, in the end she knew!!!! Harharhar… XD
~“Actually, I just wore my ultra-high shoes… So, Ohkura wouldn’t have a hard time when his kissing me.” Yassan accidentally blurted out.~
THIS ONE REALLY MADE MY DAY!!!! I was really trying so hard to stop myself from squealing (I’m still in the office and they might hear me) that my eyes became teary.
~”Yass… Yaguchi-san, will you marry me?”
“Ha… Hai, Tadayoshi kun”
“That’s good! Now kiss her intimately!!!!” ~
Ohkura has one cool mom… She’s supporting him even though his preference is a guy..LOL
~“That was it?! I didn’t get a chance to shoot a picture…. Ohkura, do it one more time… And this time please be passionate. Just think that you’re the only ones here. I’ll not bother you, so just do your stuff.” Ohkura and Yassan couldn’t believe what they are hearing from this old lady…~
I can understand Ohkura and Yassan. They are in such an uncomfortable atmosphere. :D
~“That’s great! So, who’s on top?”
“What?! I didn’t get it… Of course I’m always on top.”
“Ahh, it’s just that you’re both guys… I didn’t know who among you plays the Seme and Uke…”~
So they thought that they will be successful in deceiving Ohkura’s mom but… in the end they are the ones that were deceived. AHAHAHA..XD
But my favorite part was the one that Ohkura’s mom requested them to kiss in front of her… You gave me an idea that his mom is a Yaoi fanatic… (like us?LOL) I pictured her to have some banners and pom-poms yelling ‘GO OHYASS! GO OHYASS!!!’ like that.
I hope you will write a continuation… ONEGAI!!!!
(Oh yeah, did you know that my secretary’s name is Mari Yaguchi? Not the well-known JPOP artist who took my Shun… LOL…. Another ‘epic’ type comment, nee? XD)
Rika closed her laptop and went back to work. She finished reading and editing some documents before getting the blue folder that her secretary gave her. When she opened it, she was surprised to see the text written, crudely, by hand. They have a protocol in that company to print any submitted reports. She was about to put it down when she noticed that it’s not a report. Rika started reading the first paragraph and as she progressed her eyes widened with excitement. She continued reading it until she finished it.
” I can’t believe this! No way!” Rika quickly pressed the number 1 button on the intercom.
“I want to see Ms. Yoshizawa here, ASAP!”

Hitomi has just come back from her appointment on third floor. When she sat on her table, she felt that something’s missing; and indeed there is. She immediately called her secretary. Kei arrived a moment later.
“Yes Miss Yoshizawa?”
“Have you seen a light blue folder here a while ago?”
“Yes, you’ve told me earlier to pass your report to Ms. Ishikawa.” At that instant, Hitomi’s eyes widened with rage.
“WHAT?!?” Hitomi yelled as she slammed her fist on her table. Her secretary was getting scared for it’s the first time that she had seen her boss getting angry. “You’ve passed that folder to her?!? But you’re supposed to pass this folder!” Hitomi raised the dark blue folder on the left side of her table. Kei was surprised.
“I’m so sorry ma’am. I didn’t know that I’m supposed to pass the one in the dark blue folder, not the light blue one.” Kei explained. Hitomi opened the folder and showed her the front page.
“And I bet you didn’t even open it, right?”
“I’m sorry ma’am, but …” Kei looked over the phone as it rang. Hitomi slumped on her chair and pressed the phone’s speaker on. She tried her best to hide the irritation in her voice.
“Hai?”
“Ms. Yoshizawa, Ms. Ishikawa wants to see you in her office immediately.”
“Hai, I’ll be there in a moment.” She gave a piercing glare to Kei. Kei was as nervous as ever because for the last year that she had been her secretary, this was the first time that her boss got really angry. It’s as if there’s some kind of mystery inside that folder which she doesn’t want Rika to know. “She wanted to see me…” Hitomi coldly said on her secretary. She rose up, got the folder and left her room. Her office was in fifth floor and Rika’s in seventh but for the first time, she took the stairs instead of the elevator to delay the time and when she arrived, she knocked three times before hearing Rika’s voice telling her to come inside. She saw the girl, sitting quietly on her chair, looking at the ‘report’.
“There has been a huge mistake. Yasuda-san was supposed to pass the report on the dark blue folder, and not that one. ” Rika motioned her visitor to sit in the chair in front of her. Hitomi sat on the chair, feeling rather anxious at how her boss stared at her.
“Ms. Yoshizawa, I will ask you a question and I want you to answer it honestly.” Rika said in a stern voice. Hitomi nodded.
“Who wrote this story?”
Hitomi bit on her lips. She was having doubt telling about the truth for her boss might not believe it but, she has to say something. “Ahhhm… my … my friend. I was just...” Hitomi was cut short when Rika rose to her table and walked slowly towards her.
“So, your friend is the one who wrote this… Now I get it… the accessory on your bag that she gave… It all makes sense.”
“Huh? What are you saying?” Rika stopped when she was in front of Hitomi. She gave a wide smile before snatching Hitomi’s hand and gave her a very long hand shake.
“OH MY GOSH!!!! YOU ARE KUWAGATA’S FRIEND!!!! I really can’t believe it! It felt like I’m only dreaming.. My gosh!!!! I’m Charmy!!! I’m one of your friend’s greatest fan…Can I hug you?!” Before Hitomi managed to say anything, Rika took the liberty to hug her tight. She stood up from her chair and walked over in front of Hitomi.
“Didn’t you know that your friend’s really good??!!! I can’t believe it… Do you have a blog too? What’s your on-line name?” Rika released her grip and looked at Hitomi’s puzzled face. It’s like a cold water has been flushed onto her as she felt really stupid doing that. “Ah, gomen… I was just… shocked to know that my favorite writer and you are friends. Can you please let her meet me if that’s ok?” Hitomi looked at her from head to foot. Rika paused for a while and suddenly realized what she just did.
“Ahhhm, I really don’t know what to say…” Hitomi replied. Rika showed again her ‘genki’ mode. Only Ayumi knew this side of hers. It’s been a long time since she acted like this towards other people. Ayumi invited her to an Anime convention when they were in 3rd year high school. She went nuts over a certain ‘Uchiha Sasuke’ cosplayer and went as far as to get his email account and cellphone number. After a few months, she ‘upgraded’ and morph from being an anime addict to jpop addict. She listens from various artists; groups and soloists alike and she found Three-Tums to be interesting. Hitomi smiled for the first time since they met.
“I acted like Eri in her fic just now… Did I?” Rika asked and earned a nod from the sales manager. Rika caught a glimpse of Hitomi who was staring oddly at her. She looked at the floor immediately so her colleague wouldn’t notice that her face was already turning red.
“And just like Eri, you’re blushing from embarrassment right now.” If she were a cartoon character, she pictured her face will be crimson red and steam would be coming out of her head and ears. Hitomi nailed the spot and that made her even more embarrassed.
“I wouldn’t do what Eri did in her ‘draft’ for chapter four…. I want to know her better aside from our superior-subordinate set-up… And maybe… through her, I can get the first hand access to Kuwagata’s fics!

Chapter 4
Eri looked up at the face of the person next to her. She didn’t expect her to be there. It was 30 minutes too early for her. She bolted up from the floor and sat straight.
“Hai, daijobu.” Eri looked away. She can’t help but to remember the ‘crazy’ thing she did two nights ago. As she felt the other person sat beside her, she felt like her energy has been sucked away from her.
“Are you really feeling alright? You’re all sweaty and I remember that you were so energetic before.” Reina commented and thus, making Eri’s face blushed once more. “You play here often?” Reina decided to change the topic after seeing that she’s making the other girl embarrassed. Who knew that they will meet again after that night? When she came home her memories about her lessons in school and the practice in basketball have been replaced by that weird girl who bumped into her. It felt so odd to be attacked by a person who you just met for the first time and saying that she wanted to be friends with you yet, it felt so soothing, so warm to be desired by someone.
“Hai.” Eri replied shortly. Her mind went blank. She wanted her to be her friend but now that the opportunity’s right in front of her, she can’t even express herself. She was asking herself where the confident Eri disappeared to. Eri glanced at the girl beside her. She was wearing a dark blue jogging pants and a white shirt, a towel was placed over her shoulders and her wavy hair was carefully put up into a pony tail. “You play here too?” Eri bit her lower lip. It is such a stupid question to ask because she already knew the answer.
“Hai, I’m always practicing here.”
“Yeah, I know.” Eri whispered.
“What? Did you say anything?” Eri bit her lip. She didn’t want the other person to think that she was a stalker (although she acts like one). She shook her head vigorously. Reina looked at her, puzzled but decided to let it off. “Well, anyways I think we’re not properly introduced. My name’s Reina Tanaka.” Reina extended her right hand to Eri for a handshake.
“I bet you know that my name’s Eri Kamei.” Eri shyly took Reina’s hand and squeezed it. She immediately retrieved her hand and put it on top of her lap. She was shy originally but that particular night, her shyness disappeared and was able to present herself towards Reina. She needed that confidence back right now but it seems that it’s not yet going to happen.
“Yes, I remembered that. By the way, why are you laying on the floor? It’s rather dirty.”
“I was tired. I just finished playing.” Eri replied. She looked at her watch and saw that her time’s nearly up.
“Woah, you’re early… And I thought that I’m early today. What time did…” Reina stopped talking when she saw the other stood up. Eri bowed her head to Reina.
“I’m sorry, I should head home now before my aunt wakes up. Thank you for your time.”
“Hai, it’s nothing really… Uhmm, where’s your house?” Eri looked up. She wasn’t expecting her to ask that.
“Ehh?”
“Well, uhhm, you see…” Reina couldn’t look in Eri’s eyes. Deep inside she wanted to see her again so knowing her house would be a good idea. She thought hard for a plausible excuse. “You didn’t say that last time. You were all talking about your favorite stuffs and food.” Reina saw Eri’s uneasiness vanished and was replaced by a smile.
“It’s that two-storey house near the hill.” Eri pointed. “I’ll be here again tomorrow.”
“Hai, I’ll try to be here as early as possible. I want to play with you.”
“Sure. Bye!”

“SAYUUUUUUU!!!!” Eri screamed as she saw her friend enter her room. She ran towards her and hugged her tightly. “Guess what happened this morning!”
“Uhhh, you went out in your ‘space suit’?” Sayumi joked. It was far from a space suit. It looks a lot like those worn by geologists who were studying an active volcano. It was made by aunt Kaori for Eri wanted to go out in the morning too when she was little. It’s her protection against the harmful UV rays of the sun which can become a source of death to a person born with XP.
“Baka… It’s not that. Do you think I’ll be this happy if I went out with that?!”
“Ok, I give up. What happened?”
“I talked with her!!!!” Eri replied and squeezed her friend tighter.
“Itai~ Give me a break will you.” Eri loosened her grip on her friend. “Who’s her… HER?” Sayu eyed her friend. Eri was grinning like a mad person and nodding her head vigorously at the same time.
“She was early this morning that we met before I went home…. She’s so cool!!! She said she wanted to see me again and play with her. She even asked where I lived…. Ahhh, I can’t believe that this day will come!” Sayumi stood still. She didn’t know how to react. She’s happy for her friend and at the same time, she felt jealous that someone will take Eri’s precious time away from her.
“Ahh… Is that so? I’m happy for you.” Eri looked up at her friend without even releasing her.
“Your face says otherwise…. You’re jealous right?!” Eri chided.
“What if I am? You have any objections?” At this point Eri realized that they were in an awkward position. Her face was really close to Sayu; so close that she can feel the other person’s breathe on her face. “I already told you that you’re making me jealous.” Eri can feel her cheeks flushed from embarrassment. She remembered the day they accidentally kissed and her heart started beating fast. Is she feeling something for her friend? She asked herself but she’s still confused to answer.

“Ahahaha… Deshou? Yeah, like her I don’t know what I’m doing when I get excited over something. I kinda become impulsive especially when it comes to…… So, uhh can I meet her?” Hitomi bit her lower lip. She wanted to laugh but she tried her best to remain composed. Her ‘cool’ boss becomes totally disoriented when it comes to her ‘addiction’.
“I don’t know. We haven’t seen each other for a while.”
“Ehh? Then why did you have her draft?” Rika inquired. Hitomi looked at the paper on top of Rika’s table.
“My PC broke, I can’t proof-read her fic so yeah, she sent it to me via mail instead. Kinda low-tech right?”
“Sugoi! So you’re her official proof-reader… nice….” Rika walked right back to her chair and sat. She placed her hands on her chin, as if she was thinking deeply. She suddenly gazed back at Hitomi. “So, where’s your real business report?”

“Really? Why didn’t you make a blog account too? You see, my best friend Ayumi was the one who introduced to this blogging stuff and she’s making fanfics too. Mostly TakaGaki of ‘Futari’ and Ohyass of Kanjani 8 and I might say that she’s really good. Well, she told me to try writing and I did. It’s fun to write; mine mostly based from experience or from something that I’ve read or watched. It’s also fun meeting other fangirls or fanboys, sharing ideas and news about our favorite group. I already met some of them in real life during anime or toy conventions. Ayumi’s the one posting for a meet-up at least once a year. Did you know, the first time that I commented outside my blog and my friend’s blog is on the fic blog of your friend?” Rika raised her eyebrow towards her companion. She then sipped a little from her red wine before cutting the steak that she was eating. Her companion took a while before answering her, seemingly enjoying every move that Rika made from her graceful cutting of the meat to refined way of chewing it.
“Well, now I know. You sure do talk a lot when it comes to these stuffs nee?” Rika wiped her lips and smiled. Hitomi quickly looked towards the steamed salmon that she’s eating. Rika’s smile was something, its warmth seeped into her skin.
“I guess you can compare me to a spring of water hidden inside a wooden box. It looks tranquil on the outside but there’s a lot of force inside pushing on its walls. Once it finds an opening, even a little one, it will only take a small time before that box will burst and all its water will come out. You’re the small hole, my addiction is the water, and my front is the box, so yeah. You triggered my fangirling side, that’s why the water came out, my addiction came out.” Rika added some hand gestures when she explained it to help the other visualize what she’s trying to explain.
“Nice analogy there. Me? I’m the trigger? If I’m the trigger when I’m just her friend, how much more when you meet her?” Hitomi commented. Once again, she caught a glimpse of Rika’s sweet smile.
“Exactly, I need to have some valium to calm me up.” Rika laughed at her own joke but was suddenly stopped when her phone rang.
“Excuse me for a while.” Rika said to Hitomi before placing the phone on her ears. Hitomi continued eating her dinner. “Hello? Yes, may I know who’s speaking?.... Miki? Who’s Miki? AHHHH!!! Fujimoto-san! How are you? How did find my number? Yes… it’s working well? I’m glad about that. I miss you guys… Ok, take care. Keep in touch always… Ja!” Rika clicked the end button.
“Friend of yours?” Hitomi asked. Rika put her phone back into her purse and looked at the ceiling.
“Ehh? Are we friends?” Rika asked herself. She wanted to say that their kind of relationship is higher than being an acquaintance but lower than being friends. She decided not to tell it because she, herself, is not sure.
“Kinda… I met her when I was assigned in the Hokkaido branch. She’s just saying that the plan that we made before is working really well and is meeting up the established goals for the year. I might say that she’s a good marketing manager, just like you. She can predict what will happen in the future if we do this certain idea and so on and so forth. We were a duo back there but sadly, after 3 months I had to go back to the main branch. The people there are accommodating and friendly. I really miss them.”
“Well, there’s the phone and the e-mail. There are many ways for communication if you’re missing someone.” Rika stared at the person in front of her because she noticed that there’s a hint of sadness in Hitomi’s voice. She was about to ask something related to that but decided not to pry into her co-worker’s life for now. After finishing a scrumptious meal at the restaurant, the two walked together towards the bus stop. HItomi wanted to take her home using her black Toyota Vios but Rika really wanted to use the public bus so she decided to walk her ‘boss’ to the bus stop while leaving her car in the car park of the restaurant.
“Don’t you have any cars? You’re still the CEO’s daughter.” Hitomi asked after arriving at the bus stop after almost 5 minutes of walking from the restaurant.
“I have back in our town. I want to experience new things while I’m staying in a different place that’s why even though I can have one here, I didn’t do it. In a bus, you can see different types of people. Experience determines knowledge, so if that’s the case then what can I learn if I’m always alone, inside my car right?” Rika explained.
“I’m guessing that you have attended a pragmatist school?” Hitomi asked. “The way you think and act… is not more about practical things and not the traditional type. You must be a liberal student right?”
“Hmmm, I guess you could say that. I’m just following my dad, he’s the liberal one so technically, I became liberal too.” Rika breathe in the cold night air and suddenly coughed out loud. Hitomi rushed to her side and checked up on her.
“Are you alright?”
“Hai, I’m fine. I just remembered something. I used to I like the scent of the night air but Miki told not to do it often.” Hitomi raised her brows.
“Ehh? Why would she tell you that?”
“It’s because, we’re not the only ones who’s using oxygen; the plants breathe in oxygen at night. I laughed at it at first but now, it all makes sense. We are not living alone, there are other living things like the plants and we need to share the things that they also need. In return, when the morning comes, they will return something good to us like releasing oxygen that we breathe. They may look like they’re doing nothing on the outside but if it weren’t for them, we can’t live on this earth because we can’t produce the needed oxygen by ourselves. It’s just a matter of give and take relationship.”
“That’s so her…”
“Ehh? What did you say?”
“ I said, you really have a way with analogies.” Hitomi replied. Rika faced her and grinned.
“I’m not the one who thought about that. She just mentioned it to me, and now I’m saying it to you.” Rika looked up at the starry sky as if she was trying to express what she wanted to say ever since they were eating inside the restaurant. After a momentary pause, she looked back again at the person beside her. “And besides, I feel like I can compare you to the plants that are doing things that people don’t usually see with their naked eyes.”
“Ehh?! Me? Why?” Hitomi pointed her finger towards herself. Even though her voice sounded like she was surprised, her face still has no emotions.
“Hmmm, how will I start it?” Rika trailed off, “well, at first, I thought that you are a stoic person. You barely get out of your office, I hardly see you hanging out with other people… But after talking with you right now, I realized that you’re different from what I perceive you to be. I feel like you’re just trying to suppress something, just like me.”
Hitomi looked at Rika as she said the last part. She was right; she was trying to suppress something that she showed before. The thing that made her who she is now. Rika noticed the change in Hitomi’s behavior. She might be right with her theory. She decided to continue even though the bus was approaching them.
“Most people are close minded and they usually misjudge us so in order not to get hurt by their criticisms we tend to put on a façade that will agree to their beliefs. But for us, it’s hard to hide who you really are, right?”
“I guess so.”
“What I’m trying to say is, feel free talk with me in my office about your fangirling stuffs . So even if it’s just an hour of lunch break or overtime with dinner like this one, you can at least show your other side.” Rika extended her hand and offered a hand shake. “Well, have a nice evening and take care!” Hitomi took her hand and smiled.
“Sure, you too. I hope you will have lots of experience in the bus.”
“Of course! But next time, you have to drive me in your car. And by the way, you look better when you smile.” Rika said before going into the bus and sitting near the window. As the bus moved on, Rika waved goodbye to her co-worker. Hitomi waved back. When the bus disappeared into her vision, she walked back in the direction of the restaurant to get her car.
“You have no idea what I’m trying to conceal.”

Rika immediately opened her laptop as soon as she came back into her apartment. She checked whether ‘Kuwagata’ had already posted a new chapter; the chapter that Hitomi proof-read. Hitomi even asked her earlier if she can use the company’s computer to send the finished draft to her friend’s email so that she can post it within this day. Rika gladly let her use it for ‘personal’ purpose even though it’s contradicting the company’s rule. She can’t believe she did it just to satisfy her fangirling side. She saw that there’s a comment already. She started reading it again even though she just read the draft earlier. And she was glad she did because she learned that it’s different from the draft. After finishing it, she typed a comment and browsed the net for about an hour to read about the latest news and gossips in the music world. She returned to ‘Kuwagata’s’ site after it and read the other comment s that have been posted in there.

Eri noticed that Reina was coming and she hides behind the bench. Reina started playing basketball but didn’t notice her until Eri started running away because the sun is almost up.
“Ehh… Should I answer it? Kuwagata did revise it. Maybe she has some other plans.” Rika deleted what she had typed just now and replaced it with something else.

Rika pressed the post button and after a while turned off her laptop. A lot of things happened in that day and she felt so exhausted. She literally crept into her bed to sleep. Tomorrow, she will call her best friend and tell her about her officemate who’s also a fangirl like her.

Hitomi threw her keys on her table and quickly went inside the bathroom to relax a little bit before going to sleep. She put a milk bath on her bathtub and added some warm water; checked the temperature first before completely dipping into the tub. She closed her eyes and tried to relax. It has been ‘a weird’ day. Her boss is somewhat a weirdo… a weirdo like her. She can’t help but smile at the funny antics that her boss can do... for the sake of fangirling. Her smile vanished when her reminiscing of the day’s happenings brought her to the restaurant part.
“Miki…”
Hitomi rose up from her resting position on the tub. She looked at the small wall clock near the door. She noticed that half an hour had passed since she first entered the tub. She didn’t know whether she was just thinking so hard or she fall asleep right there. She simply shrugged off the thought and proceeded to rinse herself. Hitomi slid on her ‘cute’ orange pajama with tiger prints after drying herself and lay on her bed. She’s really tired; physically and mentally and she need to have enough strength for she will go to Tokyo to check some supplies needed by their company. She will go first to their company for the list of products before proceeding to Tokyo. It will be a long and bumpy ride so she really NEED to sleep right now; even though her memories were preventing her from doing so.

Hmm a love triangle possibly starting in Yossie's fic with Sayu, Eri and Reina, I kinda get the feeling the same might happen with Rika, Yossie and Miki?
I wonder how Yossie knows Miki, did they used to date or something, I wonder if Miki knows about Yossie writing fanfics?

So yeah, without further ado... here's the next chapter..XD
Chapter 5
Rika stretched a little as soon as she woke up. She grabbed her cell phone on the table beside her bed and dialed her best friend’s number. A couple of rings later the other line answered.
“Ohayou….” Rika smiled at the still sleepy voice of her friend. It will be harsh but she wanted to tell it to her friend sooner…
“OHAYOU!!!” Rika gleefully screamed to the phone. She heard some noise on the background. She was sure that her friend fell out of her bed.
“What the heck is that?!? “ Ayumi yelled back. Rika couldn’t stop laughing her heart out. Her friend can really be funny sometimes. “What do you want?”
“Nothing…”
“You disturbed my sleep and then you tell me that it was just nothing?!” Rika breathe in deeply and stopped laughing. She knew her friend will be shocked at what she will reveal.
“You know what… My officemate is Kuwagata’s friend and her official proof-reader!”
“Ehh? Kuwagata? Your favorite on-line writer? Her friend? How come?!” Rika was giggling like crazy and her voice sounded an octave higher than her regular voice as she related to her friend what happened yesterday. The two talked for two hours more about different things in the JPOP world before Rika finally decided to hang up. It’s already 6am and there are still lots to do before going to work. She cooked her breakfast and took a bath quickly and dressed herself up before getting out of her apartment. Rika was waiting for the bus when she suddenly spotted a black Toyota Vios passed by. The car stopped and slowly drove back and pulled over in front of her. The window of the car opened revealing the person she was with last night.
“Ohayou! I guess this is the right time to drive you in my car.” Rika smiled and agreed on the other’s request. Hitomi opened the door of the front seat for her.
“Ohayou! I didn’t know that you pass by this street to?”
“My apartment’s 6 blocks away from here. I know that yours is just three blocks away. The company made sure that their apartments are closer to each other.” Hitomi explained after she stepped on the accelerator and the car started moving forward.
“Hey, did you know that your friend changed the story? It’s different than in the draft.” Rika started as she was putting on the seatbelt.
“Yeah, she wanted her readers to think what will happen next in the story. In short, she wanted to be unpredictable so when she learned that you’ve read her draft. She quickly changed it. If there are grammatical errors, then you know that I haven’t checked that one.” Hitomi quickly took a glance at her passenger. Rika was staring at her with her mouth slightly opened. “Why are you staring at me like that?”
“Sugoi…. Sugoi…. WAAAAHHH!!!! OH MY GAWD!!! You’re so cool!!! The two of you are SO COOOOL!!!! OMG…. When I learned that the two of you were friends, I thought that I can have some peep into her story before she can even post it but now after what you have said….. I don’t mind waiting for a long time to her to post it.” Hitomi thanked silently that Rika had the seatbelt on for if she didn’t wear it, she might have rolled on the car’s floor or worse, Rika might have strangled Hitomi because of too much happiness. Hitomi just bit her lip when Rika started saying incomprehensible words and at the same time, saying it a high pitch accompanied by her random squealing. At this, Hitomi realized that her boss was somewhat scary. After a few minutes, Rika calmed down a little bit.
“I’m sorry… you saw again my ‘flailing mode’. I can’t help it when it comes to my favorite stuffs. I hope you’ll keep this as a secret. My parents didn’t know that I’m like this.” Rika pleaded. It would be a disaster when her parents… worse, her company found out that she’s a ‘crazy’ person. No one might respect her ever again.
“Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me.” Hitomi assured her. They were nearing their office now. Hitomi pulled over the corner and faced Rika.
“Ano, I really want to drive you in front of the office but… I don’t want them to start gossiping about us.”
“Ehh, what do you mean by that?” Rika asked. Hitomi closed her eyes and breathe deeply.
“You know, the usual stuff like, I want to be close to you because you’re the boss and I will profit from you, etc.”
“Ohhh, yeah, I got it. That’s right. But still, you are free to come in my office during lunch breaks… or I’ll just visit you in the office. You know … the usual department rounds.” Rika winked at her. She opened the door, got out of the car and walked away. She turned around and waved goodbye at the passing car. She walked towards the office, greeting every one she came across with. Mari greeted her warmly as soon as she saw her coming towards her room.
“Ohayou, Ms. Ishikawa. Your father called earlier.”
“Ehh? How come? There’s still 15 minutes left before the start of official office hours. Why didn’t he call my phone?”
“I’m sorry but I don’t know the answer to that. He left me a message saying that you have to call him immediately when you get here in the office.” With that said Rika quickly thanked her secretary and went inside her room. She dialed the number in her father’s office. She didn’t wait too long for after two rings, her father answered.
“Hello? Rika? How are you there?”
“I’m fine dad. Why do you want me to call you? You should have called my phone instead.” Rika grumbled.
“My, my… You sounded angry there. Don’t do that. You will have wrinkles on your forehead. I don’t want my daughter to look older than her true age.” Rika heard her father laugh. It’s been a while since he ‘annoyed’ her. Her mom wouldn’t understand it. They looked like they were fighting most of the time but in reality is, she’s a “papa’s girl”.
“Hahaha, very funny. Let’s get to the point. I guess it’s about work and it’s somewhat urgent so you decided to call here instead of my phone… Am I right?”
“No, you’re left…”
“It’s not funny dad.” Rika tried hard to sound serious and stifled her laugh. Her father’s jokes were lame but she cannot help but laugh at it. He sounded like a little boy trying his best to make people laugh with his silly but oh-so-lame jokes.
“You got me. To tell you the truth, you have to go back to Hokkaido this morning. Just get the plane ticket from Mr. Nishida and then give them a surprise visit. I know you miss them.”
“Yeah but that doesn’t erase the fact that you really like to surprise me. For how many days will I stay there?”
“Just this day. It’s just a round trip ticket and I’m sure that you will be home before seven.” Rika sighed. This sudden change in her schedule is making her head ache. There are still things to be done in the office. She bid her father goodbye and went to Mr. Nishida’s office.
“Ohayou! My father called and said that…”
“Here’s the ticket. Have a safe trip!” Mr. Nishida interrupted Rika’s speech and gave her the ticket. There are two brown envelopes under it. Rika looked at him questioningly. Mr. Nishida smiled. “Please give it to the president and the smaller one to Ms. Fujimoto.
“Hai.” Rika smiled evilly at Mr. Nishida. “So, you decided to make your move towards her right?”
“Hahaha, you’re really like your father. It’s about business, not a love letter. Got that?”
“I know, I’ll go now!”
“Take care!”
Rika walked back to her room. She wanted to maximize her travel time so she decided to bring some papers with her on the plane. As she got out of her office, she saw Hitomi waiting near the elevator.
“Where are you going?” Hitomi asked pointing at the black suitcase that Rika was carrying.
“My father called me and he wanted me to check up on the Hokkaido branch. I’ll come back later this evening.”
“Oh, that’s where you’re going? Mr. Nishida just instructed me to drop you off at Narita international airport before I do my job in Tokyo to check some supplies.”
“Arigatou.”
“Don’t thank me…” The elevator opened and the two of them went inside. “Thank Mr. Nishida. He’s the nicest president that I’ve ever encountered.”
“Well, you still haven’t encountered my father and I’ll tell you, if Mr. Nishida is nice, then my father’s nicer.”
“Yes I know.” Hitomi looked at her and smiled for the second time. “Like father, like daughter.” The two walked out of the elevator when it reached the ground level. Rika was greeting everyone she sees, the total opposite of what her companion is doing. Hitomi was wearing her serious face and was walking faster than her. She knew that Hitomi was obviously distancing herself from her. And she felt that it’s better that way. She noticed the ‘weird’ glances given by some people towards Hitomi, followed by a whisper or so. After talking with Hitomi last night, she perceived her to be a good person but she was really curious as to what the people were behaving when they see her. She pitied her companion. Something must have happened before that made her act like she didn’t care a bit about her surroundings.
Her thought was broken when a black car stopped in front of the door. She realized it was Hitomi’s car, probably waiting for her. The whispers became louder as she opened the door. She noticed from her peripheral vision that many of their officemates where looking ‘weirdly’ at them. She sat in the front seat and closed the door. Hitomi’s windows were tinted so their officemates have no clue that she was looking back at them.
“I told you. It’s not good to be acquainted with me.” Hitomi said as she started the engine and stepped on the accelerator.
“Why? Did you do something bad before?”
“I think it’s not bad… I just showed my real self and then yeah, they started acting like that. I really don’t care. That’s why I rarely go out of my room. I just focus on my work.”
“I’m sorry. I have no idea about what happened before. I guess I better be careful not to show my fangirl side.”
“Yeah, even though you are the CEO’s daughter, be careful when you are dealing with other people. Some are good, and most are just good on the outside.”
“Thanks for the tip. I appreciate it.” Narita airport was an hour away from Saitama. Even though she wanted to talk more with Hitomi, she has no idea where to start. It’s easy if their topic was about JPOP but the earlier events were still bothering her. She decided to start reading the papers that she brought. Hitomi decided to talk to her when they were nearing the airport.
“Wouldn’t you damage you eyes if you’re reading in a moving car?”
“Hai, I guess…” Rika nonchalantly replied. Her head was aching not because of the moving car but one of the reports has some erroneous items, making a lot of discrepancies in the computations.
“Why are you still reading?”
“Because I like to read… I’m a book worm even though I’m not an earthworm.”
“Yeah, go Rika! Be like your father with the lamest jokes ever…” Rika glanced at Hitomi and noticed that she bit her lip to prevent her from laughing.
“Speaking of reading. My friend’s on a roll, she told me that she already finished last night the fifth chapter of ‘Waiting for the Light’.” With that said, Rika looked at the person beside her; her grin reached up to her ears.
“REALLY?!? OH MY GOSH!!! What time will she upload it?!” Rika’s heart started beating very fast. She’s dying to know what will happen on the next chapter. It was such a cliffhanger. It looks like Sayumi will confess her love to Eri… Or Eri will realize her true feelings towards her best friend. She was somewhat disappointed when Hitomi shook her head. They were in the airport premises. Hitomi stopped her car near the departure area.
“I’m sorry but she didn’t tell me. Just check her blog from time to time. Have a safe trip!”
“Hahaha! I’ll check it as soon as I’m in Sapporo. Thanks for that info and for the ride. Take care too!” Rika closed the door behind her and walked towards the departure area. After finding her seat, she proceeded in checking again the reports but she was having a hard time to focus because of what Hitomi said. She managed to finish checking the papers before the plane landed in New Chitose Airport at Chitose; just south of Sapporo. Rika walked fast towards the door and out of the airport. Before going to the place where she was destined to go, she looked for a coffee shop or any restaurants with a Wi-Fi connection. She managed to find one and ordered some bread and coffee before opening her laptop and checked whether chapter five’s already been posted. And it did. Rika read the story while she was eating her 2nd ‘breakfast’.

Chapter 5
“You’re really funny when you’re in a state of trance.” Sayu said which made Eri ‘wake up’ to reality.
“Eh?”
“Don’t mind it…” Sayumi messed up her friend’s hair before kissing her forehead which surprised the other. Eri saw a sweet smile coming from her friend. “Just make sure that you will still spend some time with me even though you’re meeting her. Promise?”
“Ehh, what are you saying?! Of course I want us to be together. You’re my best friend, Sayu.”
“Are you sure?”
“Ehh?!? I don’t really get you? What are you trying to say?”
“I’m just trying to ask whether friendship is what you’re feeling towards me.”
“Of course! You’re my best friend right?”
“Yes… And I thought that you’re going gay over me.”
“Why do you always say that?! I’m not gay!”
“Then why are you still holding me?” Eri realized that she’s been hugging her friend all this time. She immediately released her grip and pushed away her friend.
“Itai~ I’ve become numb because of your tight grip and you’re just going to push me? You’re mean.” Sayu said sulkily. Eri realized what she had done and hugged her friend again.
“Gomen! I didn’t mean to… I was just…”
“You’re hugging me again… You’re really gay.”
“I’M NOT!!!”

Eri was practicing her three pointers when she heard someone clap behind her. She looked back and saw the shorter girl whom she talked to yesterday.
“Sugoi, your form is really good… Oh yeah, Ohayou!” Eri giggled as the other person almost forgot her greeting.
“Ohayou, Tanaka-san! You’re really early today.” Eri passed the ball towards the new comer. Reina caught it, dribbled a little and made her way towards the hoop and releasing the ball into the air in a form of lay-up. Eri was delighted. She was grinning like a little child who had just seen the greatest magic trick on earth. “Sugoi! That was a nice lay-up!”
“I remember you doing that too the day you pushed me on the ground.. And what do you mean by ‘early’? You’re the one’s who’s earlier. It’s just 2:45 in the morning.” Eri picked up the ball and started dribbling. Reina can see that she was deeply in thought. She decided to play with Eri, even though the other didn’t answer her question.
Eri noticed Reina coming towards her and instinct was telling her to protect the ball. It was a one on one duel. Eri tried to get pass Reina’s intense defense against her but she can’t go inside. She took a step back and jumped high before releasing the ball. She took an advantage of her height for Reina can’t block the ball. Her fade away shot was a success. She has a score now. But Reina wouldn’t give in easily like that. She got the ball and run back towards the three point line and readied herself for the shot. Eri jumped when she that Reina was about to jump but she was deceived. Reina did a fake and when Eri jumped she dribbled the ball before stepping to her right side where the area was clear. She took the shot before Eri can jump again and stop her. It went in.
“My, that was a good fake and a three pointer. Are you the ace player of your team?” Eri asked. Reina looked at her.
“I’m not an ace player buy how did you know that I’m in a team?” Eri stared at her. “Hey, are you alright?” Reina waved her hands in front of Eri.
“Hai, gomen… My best friend told me that. She’s a sophomore student studying in your school too.”
“The one who pulled you away last time?” Eri nodded. The two resumed playing basketball. It was more of a give and take situation. Eri was teaching Reina some slick moves on dribbling, defense and the fade away shot. Reina on the other hand taught Eri some basic exercises that Ai and Risa was teaching her before to improve her shooting skills. They continued practicing everyday but Reina noticed that Eri always went home before the sun rises in the sky. She was intrigued by it but decided to remain quiet.
“Hey,” Eri started after finishing their play “Do you remember your question before? When you asked why I was early that day?” Eri noticed Reina nod after drinking her water jug. “Well, you see, it’s because I’m here every night just until before the sun rises.”
“Ehh? Why do you always go out at night? Are you insomniac or something?”Reina inquired. She wanted to know her friend better. Her question has been answered regarding to why no matter how early she went to the court, Eri’s always there before her. But Eri’s revelation is somewhat hard to believe.
“No…”
“Then why?”
“Promise you won’t feel… uhhm… different about me?”
“Shoot…”
“Well… that’s because… I’m…”
“Well? You’re a what?”
“I’m…. a… vampire.. I’ll die if I’ll be exposed to sunlight, yeah that’s right!”
“HAAHAHAH!! You’re funny. A vampire? If you’re really a vampire, why didn’t you suck my blood before?” Reina knew that Eri was lying; she can’t look straight into her eyes while she’s giving her explanations and she’s stuttering. But she decided to play along.
“Because.. That’s.. Well, you see I’m a worthless vampire. I don’t know how to suck blood. I’d rather buy my food at the blood bank than suck the blood of my friend.”
“Ohhh, that’s really… interesting. Well, I don’t mind a vampire hanging around me… That’s cool.”
“Thanks” Eri sighed, she didn’t know why but she can’t tell the truth to her new friend. She looked up on the sky and noticed some streak of light in the east part of the horizon. She checked her watch and noticed that there’s still an hour left before the sun will completely rise on the sky. Suddenly, she noticed someone near the other end of the court.
“Sayu?” Reina looked at Eri and then followed her line of vision. The girl that Eri saw was wearing a pink tracksuit and pink running shoes. It seemed the other just finished doing her morning exercise because she was sweating really hard. Reina realized that girl was the one who pulled Eri away from her that fateful night. The girl walked towards them. Eri stood up and hugged her friend before presenting her to Reina.
“Reina, this is my best friend Sayumi Michishige… You met her before right? The one who stopped me from doing ‘that’ embarrassing thing.” Sayumi reached out her hand and offered a hand shake.
“Hi! I’m Reina Tanaka. I’ve heard a lot of thing about you. It’s hard to stop your friend’s mouth.” Reina said as she took Sayumi’s hand and grinned evilly at Eri.
“Yep, I know… But you know, Eri was really shy… before. I call her turtle for she always hides when there are other people. That’s why I’m quite shocked that Eri managed to do that to you. You’re one lucky girl…” Eri elbowed Sayumi’s side pretty hard but the girl laughed out loud instead of crying in pain. Reina was left clueless as to why Sayumi was laughing while Eri’s blushing real hard.
“Ehh? I didn’t get that.”
“Hahaha! Well you see, Eri is somewhat…”
“My, my… is that the time? We have to go now! See you tomorrow! Ja!” Eri pushed away her laughing friend before she could tell anything that will possibly harm her relationship with Reina. Sayumi waved goodbye to the somewhat confused girl left in the court.

Poor rika has to go to Hokkaido, oh well busy busy busy. Eri being an insomniac, interesting although the part made her try to portray her really cute shy side as Reina looked sporty. Can't wait for your next update :thumbsup

Rika, did I mention that her fangirling makes me laugh? It's like, one flip of the switch and she's in that mode. Though I have to admit that I'm just as interested in the fanfiction as she is. :lol: Who will Eri end up with? With Takagaki ever get a bigger cameo? XD

So the office workers know about Yossie being a fan girl and they were cruel to her about it! I feel sorry for her though obiously she feels as though she wants to protect Rika from the same fate, which could be quite hard when Rika's, as Rndmnweird said, is like a switch.....
Hmm, I wonder what Rika is going to do in Hokkaido?
