In this thread you can talk about TV-shows that don't have own threads.
Lost is the shit, I'm only 4 episodes deep but I'm already addicted to it.
-
i just started watching the first season of Weeds. This show is pretty funny and the story background is interesting. Mary-Louise Parker is pretty hot given she's in her 40s. i first noticed her when she appeared in The West Wing. i'm only up to episode 6 but so far i like what i've seen.

Word, I fucking love Weeds, it's like Desperate Housewives on drugs. I think Parker even won an Emmy for her role as Nancy. The 2nd season of Weeds is supposed to start in July.
-
Did anyone else here watch Strangers With Candy when it was on?
-
I really love the new Battlestar Galactica series on the Sci Fi channel..I bought all the DVD sets they have out already and watched them all within like 2 days
Boomer and Starbuck are just amazing!!

*drools* You're telling me! Girls who kickass. Is there anything sexier?
-
The latest episodes of the new Battlestar Galactica haven't been so good though. Maybe they're saving something for the season finale :)
-
We're only about, 7 or so episodes in the Second Season here in the UK.
-
i think one of the best shows that is on at the moment is The IT Crowd. it's a hilarious geeky comedy show that started it's first series not too long ago in the uk. i think it's up to about episode 6 now. definately worth a watch!
-

So you're about half season behind in the UK. Scifi channel in the US has shown the second season in two parts. The first part in fall and the second started on january.
Iirc during the first season there was a time when they were showing episodes in the UK before they were aired in the US.

Well the thought of an army of Grace Parks roaming the universe sounds like good television to me! :P

It was the best episode for a long time.

Stacey got third, Jerry got second, and Drew won it all!

Battlestar Galactica 90min special season finale is on friday. The last week's episode was a good prelude and I have high hopes for friday's episode. I hope there's some major twists for the plot :)

Only 3 weeks? they should still be on easynews..
(no I don't follow that show)
-
I don't know why, but seeing the episode preview segment during the opening credits on each episode of Battlestar Galactica gets me shaking with excitement every time! :D
-
Battlestar Galactica season finale really had some major plot twists :)
Now it's seven months wait until the third season starts :P

Yes, I did not expect a double wammy episode :)
BTW it might take a bit longer for season 3 if the rumors that they are moving from SciFi to a major channel are true... they start a few months later with there series.
-
Please, no BSG spoilers! We're still going through Season 2 here in Canada!
-
Watched the season finale of "The Office" ... Casino Night was hilarious. Steve Carrell's character was like "dating two girls at once" and JIM!! Finally kissed Pam ... the whole season I'm like "Fuck her already!"
-
i am a big fan of seinfeld. i wish it will continue! come on, i love the whole crew. they were just good & under-rated!

The Only Tv-show that deserves my attention is CSI :pimp: Even if CSI: New York & CSI: Miami is quite good, the original ( CSI: Las Vegas) is still the best of those shows.
-
i watched lost in the beginning and laughed when some invisible creature was revealed and stopped watchign since
-
LMAO...The Office is back. Dwight all homophobic:

-
Yay! CSI's, NCIS and The Unit new seasons have started!
(Not sure if I'll keep watching the CSI's thou... to repetative)
-
Here are my thoughts on some of the new shows:
Heroes - Good premise, definitely will keep watching
Studio 60 - Aaron Sorkin   best new show by far
Smith - so-so, but the action is good
Standoff - I like watching the female lead :nosebleed:, everything else is dumb
Kidnapped - I don't remember much from it, but it didn't suck like I thought it would XD
-
BTW... anybody watching Eureka? :D might be more for the 'geeks' but its humor
-
SciFi and USA are showing "Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far", a summary of the series to boost interest in the new season. And its certainly boosted my interest! Not only is Grace Park (http://forum.jphip.com/showthread.php?t=2854) gorgeous, but the story is good.
Not as dark as I thought it would be - c'mon, we faced a technological singularity which developed unimpeeded for 40 years and has destroyed 12 frickin' star systems. Yet the surface of Caprica seems.... normal. I thought it should've looked at least as bad as the surface of the earth in the post-holocast Terminator movies.
-
^ The Cylons wanted to 'cleanup' Caprica, not destroy it.
A neutron bom would do the job nicely.
-
how about Star Gate atlantis =D
-
Just watched "I Pity The Fool" -- damn Mr. T has gotten SO OLD!
I learned a thing or two today, he likes to babble a lot and LOOK OUT for burnt hamburgers!

=Crap. It doesn't have the original Stargate characters anymore and the idea isn't very good. Stargate SG-1 1-7 season's were the best.
-

I have a feeling some of the characters from SG-1 are going to show up on Atlantis every once in a while now that SG-1 is over.

ROME (http://www.hbo.com/rome/)
This show makes "The Sopranos" look like "The Brady Bunch"!!!
(ok, maybe a slight exaggeration, but you get the drift)

Jon Weisman, who blogs about the Los Angeles Dodgers, wrote a piece about "The Sopranos" for VARIETY:

I gotta keep reminding myself that I gotta download these eps for my mom, especially since it's the final season.

Not sure what this is going to be:

But is has Kristanna Loken in it:

She is like the cheerleader in Heroes: can 'repair' herself.
The rest also sounds almost the same: People with a genetic mutation 'Neuros' that must be tracked down and contained but this time by a goverment unit.

Sealab 2021 FTW!!
Does anyone else watch any [adult swim] stuff? My friend is slowly getting me into all of those shows.

Who's watching ATNM!! Finale on this week.
OHH I can't believe Dionne got the boot! She was like in my top 3, along with Natasha, Jaslene. I have a feeling NAtasha wins cuz Jaslene is just too robotic sometimes.
I also don't get why they're still in Australia lol
GO JASLENE!

Who else is watching AMNTM? Fuck. Since I caught a bit last season, can't help but see people whining and shit.
I was going for Victoria. Ebony. But they were like "Fuck this industry. I can't handle a little criticism BOOHOO I quit."

For fans of The Office....PEG SHEETY REPRAZENT!
The Office comes to town
(http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/668/theoffice5002ep0.jpg)
Winnipeg is set to get a whole lot funnier.
Part of an upcoming episode of popular U.S. television show The Office is based in Manitoba's capital and it has some wondering if our city will be the stylish backdrop to a comedic extravaganza or merely the butt of jokes.
"What kind of city are we going to be represented as?" asks Gene Walz, a professor of film studies at the University of Manitoba.
Walz worries the city will be the target of "easy jokes" about its cold temperatures and remote location.
While viewers will have to wait to see how Winnipeg comes across on the NBC show, Walz believes many in the city will enjoy seeing it referenced on the small screen.
"There is a kind of validation we get, a sense of privilege and prestige that makes it special," he said.
The show revolves around a fictional paper company called Dunder Mifflin based in Scranton, Pa., that includes a variety of off-the-wall characters. Actor Steve Carell stars as inept boss Michael Scott.
"Most people know The Office is a tremendously popular show. It's a honour for Winnipeg to be a small part of it," said Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz.
The episode deals with a business trip Scott and some of his staff take to the city. Writers from the comedy series said they selected Winnipeg because it had the right balance "between exotic and obscure."
While part of the episode -- which airs Nov. 13 -- is set in Winnipeg, filming took place in Los Angeles.
A member of the props department from The Office contacted Destination Winnipeg last month about getting material to make the episode look realistic.
"They wanted to do as much as they could to ensure the accuracy," said Lori Walder, a spokeswoman for Destination Winnipeg.
'CHANGE HIS LIFE'
To outfit the show, the organization worked with Fort Garry Brewing and Old Dutch Foods to ship some of their products down. Walder said staff from the show told her Scott knocks back some Fort Garry beer on the show.
"Let me tell you, it's going to change his life," said Andrew Harris, president of Fort Garry Brewing Company. "I think it's terrific. Everyone in this whole brewery is going to be proud of being a Manitoba icon."
Much of the episode's plot centres on scenes inside an airport, a hotel and a bar, all based in Winnipeg.
Walder said she thinks the city will come across well on the show.
"I'd be surprised if they poke fun at Winnipeg," said Walder. "This is just Michael (Scott) being Michael in a different location."

Matt Groening looks to the future
(CNN) -- Matt Groening laughs -- a lot.
Sometimes it's a chuckle of uncertainty, as when he talks about the fact that his weekly comic strip, "Life in Hell," is being dropped by its flagship newspaper, LA Weekly, after 22 years. Sometimes it's a snort of mischief, as when he describes working with "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, with whom he allegedly has a feud. But mostly it's a big, rollicking guffaw, the sound of a man who still can't quite believe how much fun he gets to have at work -- work that includes "The Simpsons," still going strong after 20 years, "Life in Hell" and "Futurama."
It's the latter that's the ostensible reason for a phone interview with Groening. "Futurama," which aired on Fox from 1999-2003, then in reruns on Cartoon Network and Comedy Central, has apparently concluded its run with a new DVD movie, "Into the Wild Green Yonder" (Fox Home Entertainment), which came out Tuesday.
As with the three previous "Futurama" DVD films -- "Bender's Big Score," "The Beast with a Billion Backs" and "Bender's Game" -- "Yonder" will be split into four parts and aired on Comedy Central, which has the rights to the series. But Groening's not willing to say goodbye -- yet.
"We have a great relationship with Comedy Central and we would love to do more episodes for them, but I don't know. Maybe," he said. "I think one of the factors will be how well this DVD sells, because of these troubled times where everybody's gnashing their teeth and biting their nails."
Along with "Futurama," Groening ("rhymes with 'complaining,' " as he's often pointed out) also talked about "Life in Hell," "The Simpsons," MacFarlane and pretty much anything that tickled his fancy. The following is an edited version of the interview, with some laughs included.
CNN: I feel like Comic Book Guy talking to Jack Kirby -- or perhaps Jack Davis.
Matt Groening: (huge laugh) Well, I've met both of them -- Jack Kirby and Jack Davis! They're both heroes of mine. So I can relate. They're definitely part of my pantheon of great artists.
CNN: Let's move over to "Futurama." Is this the end?
Groening: We hope not. If it is, we feel we're offering an emotionally satisfying conclusion to this epic science fiction saga. But we did leave the door open just a bit in case we get renewed.
CNN: Is that in the offing?
Groening: We're having discussions and there is some enthusiasm but I can't tell if it's just me. (laughs)
CNN: With all the insider references in your work, do you still think of yourself as a subversive in an industry that doesn't exactly prize subversiveness?
Groening: I don't know how subversive you can be when you've been on the air as long as we have. But we try to sneak some stuff in here and there, and gladden the hearts of sensitive viewers. ...
I always thought that television was the way to go in my goal to invade pop culture (laughs) because it got to towns in which there were no bookstores. That's how I used to think of it: How do I reach kids who not only don't read but probably have no access to much in the way of books?
And "The Simpsons" basically -- and "Futurama" -- are really smart shows. They're kind of disguised as these goofy animated sitcoms, but the references within the shows, if you're paying attention, are pretty smart and pretty sophisticated. And if you don't get it, it's OK -- you have a nice entertainment experience -- but if you've gone to college and seen a few movies, you can appreciate the shows on a much more satisfying level.
CNN: How did the plot to this film come together?
Groening: The set of four movies were done by the core writers of "Futurama" headed by David X. Cohen ... [who's been] my partner on "Futurama" from the very beginning. We [planned] these four movies -- one was time travel, next was sword-and-sorcery, third was a space monster movie and the last one is a grand ecological science fiction epic which also has some emotional payoffs for the characters if you've been following the series from the beginning. ...
In a way there was a checklist component to this -- well, let's do this, we haven't done that yet -- and then just great ideas. Ken Keeler, who wrote the script, is very, very smart, and very rarely will concede a factual point, even if it means that we (laughs) postpone getting work done for hours. (laughs) And when you have writers as smart as the "Futurama" writers, you can waste two days on scientific tangents.
CNN: Seth MacFarlane has a role in this.
Groening: Oh yes! That was a real treat to work with Seth and confound the people who want to believe there's some kind of feud between Seth and myself.
CNN: How do you feel about the children of "The Simpsons" -- MacFarlane's "Family Guy," "South Park"?
Groening: I'm a fan of animation and so, the more stuff that doesn't look like the other stuff that's out there, I'm in favor.
There's a staggering array of completely wild animation on TV now ... Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network is unbelievable. And "South Park" continues to do great stuff. And "Family Guy" and the various other Seth MacFarlane projects are amazing.
And I want more. Good! Cartoons! Cartoons that don't look like anything else. Very good.
CNN: To the root of animation, cartooning: You're still doing "Life in Hell," correct?
Groening: Um, yes, but ... well, I feel like the floodwaters are rising.
CNN: Really?
Groening: Yeah, the alternative newsweeklies are really struggling. In fact, this coming week will be my final week after 22 years in the LA Weekly. I and all the other cartoonists are being dismissed because they can't afford to pay.
We'll see. I'm still in a bunch of other papers, so I may continue to do my strip, but it doesn't look good.
CNN: Have you considered just doing it online?
Groening: Yes! Yes, I'm toying with that. But it's very strange. I've been doing the weekly comic strip for 29 years, "The Simpsons" weekly for 20 years, the "Futurama" weekly for five years and then a little break and then the four movies, and then the "Simpsons" movie, ... so I have a series of ongoing deadlines. So the idea of establishing a Web presence that I'll have to feed on an ongoing basis doesn't give me a lot of pep. (laughs) One more treadmill.
CNN: Let me finish with the traditional "Simpsons" question: Is it going to continue for the foreseeable future?
Groening: Yes. I'll be surprised if we close up anytime soon. I don't see it. The popularity of the show all over the world continues and it is gratifying, and the show's still fun to do. That's always been my ultimate deciding factor: Is it still fun? And it is. ... I get to go in and listen to these brilliant actors make funny lines written by geniuses even funnier. It's a totally entertaining experience from my point of view -- in the middle of it. (Fox announced on Thursday that it has ordered two additional seasons of "The Simpsons.")

FOX Doubles Order for 'Bones', Cancels 'Terminator'
FOX, which is scheduled to announce its Fall line-up on Monday, May 18, has put its faith in "Bones" but crushed the hope for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" fans. While "Bones" is getting two seasons order, "Terminator" is officially canceled following two low rating seasons.
The renewal of "Bones" comes on the heels of fierce negotiations between the producer 20th Century Fox and the FOX studio over the show's license fee. There was a time when "Bones" was pitched to other networks that may want to pick up the fifth season. However, as confirmed by creator Cart Hanson via his Twitter, both parties have reached a deal and "Bones" will continue in FOX for season 5 and 6.
As for "Terminator", it was somewhat expected since the season finale in April, which did not help in the overall rating. Nevertheless, hope was sparked when FOX decided to renew its Friday partner "Dollhouse" that also received low ratings. But in its latest report about bubble series, EW confirms that "Terminator" is officially terminated.
With the renewal and the cancellation, it is likely that the Fall schedule in FOX will include "Bones", "House M.D.", "24", "Dollhouse", "Lie to Me", "Fringe", "'Til Death", "American Idol", "The Simpsons", "Kitchen Nightmares" and "American Dad".
Meanwhile, joining "Terminator" under the bed are "Sit Down, Shut Up", "Prison Break" and "King of the Hill".

I don't mind Jackass-like shows, usually... but broken bones and accidents where bones are broken in bad ways tend to ick me :P
There were more broken legs in the short clip we watched at the hotel than I can remember ever having seen on Jackass T_T;;;

Oh my goooood. Best Norwegian reality show just ended T_T; I WANT ANOTHER SEASON, RIGHT NOW!
Alt for Norge (lit. 'All For Norway', but closer in meaning to 'I'd sacrifice everything for Norway'). Concept is this; you take a bunch of Americans that all have Norwegian roots, bring them to Norway and tell them that if they go through and win a bunch of ridiculous challenges testing their Norwegian-ness, they get to meet their Norwegian relatives (and $50.000)!
I was apprehensive about this show at first, because I thought the network would use it as an excuse to make fun of Americans, but omg. I was so pleasantly surprised. The contestants were all incredibly interesting people, and through them Norwegians get to see how Norway and Norwegians are perceived by outsiders. AS A CULTURE GEEK, I GOT HOOKED. xD;
And the challenges were pretty darn fun xD; The contestants got to be "russ" (tradition relating to upper secondary school graduates and our Constitution Day) for a day, they tasted things like whale, smalahove, seal, and lutefisk, they killed chickens, they explored Svalbard. It seemed like they were having a lot of fun!
Unfortunately no way to watch this show online, but there are a couple of clips on youtube. Here's a badly subbed clip from the russ challenge;

Here's a clip of them eating smalahove;

Some awesome clips
Also: lutefisk :bleed eyes:
Saw some of the American edition of Dudesons, was alright

OH MY GOD. AAAH. Watching Going Postal and David Suchet is in it @_@; Now, I've only ever seen him as Hercule Poirot, colour me all kinds of distracted, amazed, and confused when David Suchet shows up looking like this;
(to the right, in the hat... and with an eye-patch.. and sadhsjkfhakjs).
No Belgian accent either, aaaaaaah. Wtf. ... ACTORS. They amaze me XDDD
-
Whoa....David Suchet....damn - dude looks completely different than Hercule Poirot.....
love David Suchet as Poirot btw.

Watched all Stargate Universe Season 1 in one day. I never watched any Stargate before, but I really liked this season.
the good:
Story is separate from the rest of the franchise. So it was great for n00bs like me to get into. The theme reminds me of Sliders. :P
Some episodes had a nice trekky atmosphere.
Planet sliding traveling.
Rush the mad scientist.
Didn't know Macgyver had been in this franchise for so many years, or still acting for that matter.
the bad:
Communication stones. And Basically any scene where they're on Earth (Rush's fake earth in the chair is an exception).
The music video style they do for the last few minutes of every episode. I call this style the "Lost 3 minutes of everyday dullness".
Have little/no mention of the Lucian Alliance until the last few episodes.

When the series American Chopper ended, figured that was it, there won't be anymore.
Lo and behold, TLC has revived the series as "American Chopper: Senior vs Junior".
In the "final season", Paulie left OCC to start up his own business.
In this new series, Paulie has started his own motorcycle shop across from OCC's original location.
And, he's also hired some former OCC employee's: Mikey, Vinnie, Nub, and Joe Puliafico.
I find that that weird, hiring Vinnie, since last I knew he had started his own motorcycle shop with Cody.
Anyway, the series is set to premiere August 12th, on Thursday at 9pm EST.
It'll be 13 episodes.
-
My guess is that the "hiring" of Vinnie and Nub is most likely just for show since, as you said, they both have their own respective businesses going. The network execs (and Junior especially) just needed an actual crew to go up against Senior (and to be honest, something tells me the fans would have had a major hissy fit if Mikey hadn't been brought back). It'll be interesting to see if this works out. It was pretty obvious in American Chopper's last season that the main problem wasn't that the work was too hard or that it wasn't getting done, it was that Junior and Senior just couldn't work together anymore. With this new version of the show, they can still do the show (and give themselves and their companies some wicked publicity/promo time) without the risk of getting on each other's nerve's for three-quarters of the show.

Starz Develops Live-Action Remake of Noir Action Anime
The Hollywood Reporter magazine reports on Thursday that the American cable television network Starz is developing a live-action remake of the 2001 television anime series Noir. In the original anime, two female assassins come together to work on missions while they uncover their past and their connection with each other.

If this gets green lit I'll be super excited!
I'm a big Raimi/Tapert fan, in my eyes they can do no wrong XD
I know there's probably be a lot of changes, but I'm ok with that, I'm really curious how they interpret and handle the material.

Checked out around 10 episodes of Firefly yesterday. I did watch Serenity a few years ago.
Maybe because it didn't really use a lot of CG effects, the show doesn't look old at all.
And the characters were pretty interesting too, all having their own motives. Too bad it was cancelled so soon.
-
Hmmm maybe, Bewitched? The oldies classic, i forgot when , but i used to watch that in black and white XD

I'm completely addicted to this show:

-
Saw the first episode of Torchwood Miracle Day.
Just like Children of Earth, the story's theme is fantastic. Watch it. :thumbsup
-
Last night's Alphas episode guested Summer Glau (Serenity/Firefly, Sarah Conner, etc...). :w00t:
Skylar was so cool with the punk look and the awesome handyman/inventor tech skill.
Wish she was is the main cast. Her character is just so much more interesting than all the other main characters who're all so... gritty.
Producers probably fearing it getting cancelled if she joined. :panic:
-
Alphas is next on my list of shows I have to watch, I'll start as soon as I've finished L-Word.
And good to know that Summer Glau is in it, even if it's just a guest part.

What new shows have people caught on to this autumn?
My personal favourites so far are 2 Broke Girls, New Girl, and Suburgatory ... all comedies for some reason, I seem to be stuck in sitcom-hell, but these are all good shows so I'm glad to add them to my watch list.
-
I take back everything I said in the above post...
anyone checked out American Horror Story?
... because you really should.
(when you see it, you'll shit bricks).
I feel it's one of the more interesting shows this autumn, and it sure is freaky and disturbing as hell. I'm wondering just how many murders this house has seen :%.
