I searched and there's no thread for Shonen Knife so here is one.
It was their drummer Etsuko's last gig on March 20th at Osaka Fandango. New drummer Emi joined soon after, according to the bands blog it looks like her first gig was 2 days later in Fukuoka. Announced on the bands blog as Emi-chan, cue a lot of speculation on who the mysterious new drummer was. Finally revealed as Emi Morimoto, formerly a member of bands Ni Hao!, mamastudio, Ultra Jr & NASCA CAR. She fits in well and hopefully the current lineup will remain stable for some time to come.
They're currently in the middle of a European tour. They just finished their UK dates and now into the rest of Europe, with a couple more UK dates at the end. The little red numbers are links to videos available on youtube.

Their manager was updating his twitter page. (http://twitter.com/THShibata) but after a few dates he went to London then flew back to Japan so the updates end. There's also the bands blog (http://www.shonenknife.net/blog) but that's not had an update since last week.

From Tokyohive:
To celebrate their 30th anniversary together, female pop-punk band Shonen Knife will be releasing a special cover album this summer!
The album is titled “Osaka Ramones“, and as indicated by the title, it’s a tribute piece to the popular band, the Ramones. The band opened for the Ramones during their Japanese tour, and have also performed as a Ramones tribute band called The Osaka Ramones in the past. With the album scheduled to drop on July 20th, it’s a fun way to celebrate the thirty years the band has been together.
Further details about the cover album are currently not available, but it’s been revealed that “Osaka Ramones” is the only the first of two things planned for the band’s anniversary.
Shonen Knife has also announced that they will be going on a European tour this year, which will include stops in Ireland and the UK. No official schedule has been confirmed at this time, but European fans can check Shonen Knife’s website for news on their upcoming tour.
