lol, Rammstein vibes... lol, those hammers are super light :lol:
man, it feels like I'm watching some sort of school musical :nervous and the costumes make some of them look fat :nervous

Now we're talking. proper cute outfits. Het, it's that Chikarina chick. Myao and Mayu look good together. Rie, Amina, Kasai, Yuki = :heart:
The song is... forgettable :nervous Not bad, just kinda generic.
M03. Ai no Stripper
Interesting title... lol, shameless fanservice :O2
Nice choreography.. some interesting vocal lines.. horrible 80's sound :nervous
M04. Theater no Megami
EPIC! Great outfits and Yuki is singing :lol: lol, this chorus is giving me 'Shounichi' vibes. Ah Mayu.. hmm.. there's seems to be a lot of Myao, maybe at the expense of Mayu? Let's keep watching. Hmm.. I'm sure Rie can sing better than this.. aw well, at least she looks great.

Mayu needs a new catchphrase. Something fresh. Like MYAO. Mikapon also needs a catchphrase. Her talk is similar to Moeno's during Team B's national tour; i.e. talking about sweat :nervous. Harukyan Doito!! Hmm.. her voice is slightly annoying, but she looks cute. ....Did Amina just say she's the oldest in new Team B?! Man, Yuki is pretty perfect.

Tenshi no Shippo intro... I was looking forward to Kasai-Amina pairing, but I don't really like that it's such a cutesy song. Yuka must feel great about her vocal skills in this trio :nervous Hmm.. not really digging this song that much.

Lacrosse? We don't have that over here, so I have zero affiliation with it. Hey, it's that Chikarina chick. Rie pwns this song. This song doesn't really stand out either. I hope there'll be some winners coming up soon...

Finally, Yuki gets her well-deserved solo song. Too bad it's a slightly boring one. At least it gives Yuki room to show of her vocal skills :thumbup

So, mixed feelings...
The Good:
-Great outfits throughout the stage
-Many of my favorite members
The Less Good:
-Only a couple songs stand out. A lot of the songs are kinda generic or they sound like remakes of other AKB songs. B3 and B4 had a lot of guitar based songs, which I'm missing in this stage.
-My most disliked members are here too :nervous
In the end? Cool stage for sure, enjoyable to watch and I'm sure I'll appreciate some of these songs better as I hear them some more. However, it did not blow me away as much as I hoped/expected (?) it would.

I hate to use strong, negative words but there's not much else to say: I watched it last night and hated it. The first thing that got to me was the team itself. Unlike the new Team K, which came out on stage with power and charisma, this new Team B felt like it was being held together with kite string. There was no cohesion at all. Some of the performances were downright awkward, and I'm not just referring to the "it's new" factor. There is a diamond in the rough, though. Arashi no Yoru ni wa is awesome as hell. Beyond that, I was bored up until the encore. Honest Man is pretty good. The ones after that were slightly enjoyable. Overall, huge disappointment, but I'm not going to be dumb and write it off. I'll give the next LoD with a full cast a watch and give it another chance. Maybe other unrelated issues are just dragging me down right now, but even so this first impression is not what I was wanting. :(

^Yeah, I agree with most of what you're saying, except I was sugarcoating it :lol:
I don't have a problem with the team though. Lack of cohesion? Yes, but I think that will work itself out pretty fast. Overall I thought most of them looked great together.
The main issue I have with this stage is the songs. Boring, generic, keyboard heavy songs. The songs I liked best were:
- Theater no Megami
- Hatsu Koi yo, Konnichiwa (Sato S., Watanabe, Oku)
- Arashi no Yoru ni wa (Suzuki, Komori, Miyazaki,. Sato N.)
- Honest man
- Team B Oshi
That 5 OK songs out of 16... and that's pretty poor :oops:

I haven't finished watching it yet,just after Yuki's solo song and then, I just skipped to Team B Oshi to see Myao butt thrust.
So far I am impressed with Arashi no Yoru ni wa (Suzuki, Komori, Miyazaki,. Sato N.). Myao ruled!
Yuuki no Hammer and Theater no Megami are fine.
Team B Oshi is so so. I like the concept of it but the song isn't much attractive.
About the costume, they really make some members look fatter. I was thinking like oh man this team possesses many fat girls. XD

I know some members are normally big but for example, in Yuuki no Hammer, even Yukirin and Mayuyu also look big to me. :nervous

So I gave this stage another shot with Yuki's birthday show. Second impression is definitely better. I enjoyed it, but nowhere near the extent of any other current AKB or SKE stage. It's still a little on the bland side, but it's very watchable. As for the team itself, they have improved but something is still "wrong". I really don't know how to word it. The new B does have a lot of members I don't care much about, but I'm not sure if it's that simple. All I know is when I get more fired up seeing the kenkyuusei doing Team B Oshi than the team itself, something's not right here. I dunno, I'll keep watching from time to time.
Oh, and there's one song I do love out of it: Arashi no yoru ni wa. Really awesome song. But uh... I confess that I love this song a whole lot more when Shimada Haruka and Yamauchi Suzuran are involved. :nervous

I have to be honest, this stage left a bad impression on me at first, it still kinda does. But after 5 different viewings of this stage, RS and what not, and frequent listens of the studio album, i'd say that this holds up better than initially though. While I cannot avoid to say that there is bias, this bias has made me 'listen/watch' closer and encouraged me to give it a chance. I'd like to take note on a few songs, without really focusing on the performances, but more on the songs themselves, as individual musical pieces. I know that's kinda pointless to do so, considering stages are all about the performances, but indulge me for a while.
I'd say Ai no Stripper is the first notable song. It's nothing special, and i personally think would have worked better as a 3-4nin unit song. Either way, its nothing fancy, very straightforward, it lacks a kick. Hatsukoi yo, Konnichiwa is really not interesting at all, that much i can say, the same goes for Bokutachi no Kami Hikouki. Now, a song which conflicts me greatly is Yokaze no Shiwaza, listening to it, my hand is automatically half-way towards ticking the "skip track" button, and yet when i finally manage to do so, the song is 4mins in. It took me a while to get over Theater no Megami, upon first hearing, i felt bombarded with silly synth beats and a catchy Shonichi-like refrain. I've grown to enjoy the track nonetheless.
One thing I like about stage songs is that they are sometimes not 'built' like usual jpop/AKB48 singles, Inseki no Kakuritsu is not one of those songs, but the main chorus is just good, even if its just a few lines. On the flipside, Locker Room Boy, is the perfect "single" track. It's not the best song in the stage, far from it, but the way the song is arranged, the choice of line execution, instrumentation, timing, almost everything, feels like it was made to be a Single, though not necessarily an AKB48 single. One can use the song as an anime opening song, and it would work like butter on bread. Suki Suki Suki is not suki at all. I'd hate to make comparisons, but it seems like 100meter Conbini is the Pajama Drive (song) of this stage, its just a good "HYPE" song, and there are well placed verse transitions that throws you off initially, but in a good way. One thing to nitpick about the song though is the embarrassing "melody" they use in the intro/inserts. With embarrassing in mind, I have nothing but feelings of confusion for Yuki no Hammer
Candy is appropriately titled. It's addictive, sweet, almost a sin. Even with the hilarious lyrical mishap, i'd still say this is one of the strongest songs, not just in B5, but from amongst all the current stages. Sayonara no Kanashibari may very well be the hidden gem of this stage. I'm just gonna say it outright that this is one of my favorites from the stage. It has the same air as 'older' AKB48 stage songs, if that makes any sense. As i've mentioned before I tend to like those smaller unit songs, Honest Man is one of the exceptions, its a powerful song, deserving of a full-on concert performance.
Strawberry shortcakes have on top of them, strawberries. For B5, that would be Arashi no Yoru ni wa. Just like a fruit on top of something baked, it stands out, in a good way. The song is on its own "package" separate from other songs in the stage. Its performance is very strong, and dare I say, ambitious. The songwriting itself is good as well (as much as good as Stage song goes), its got cheesy yet aggressive riffs and forceful beat, Arashi is very appropriate as well, because that's what it sounds like, a (small) storm. It stands out even more because it's a whopping 5 minutes, something we don't see often in pop songs (lol.jpg). And so, if Arashi is the fruit, then Team B Oshi, is the creamy icing that sweetens the whole cake. Everyone has seen and heard this song, so there's not much more to say about it.
Team B 5th Stage, is an oddity, much like Team B itself. That said, Theater no Megami ain't as terrible as I thought it was. (or liked it to be) In some degree, B5 is a the more you watch, the more you 'get' it type of deal, for me that is. I'll even say that this, in some aspects, outdoes A6 and K6. But that could be the kool-aid talking. Now excuse me while I fawn over Seifuku Resistance for the 12th time tonight.
