I get good Team K vibes from Shimada Haruka or Yokoyama Yui. Not sure why, they just look and act like they might fit. Wouldn't mind Sano Yuriko either. She's long overdue for a promotion.

Shimda Haruka has already been performing with Team K and she seems to fit in. She's also a good dancer, which is required for erena's unit.
I would predict shimazaki being promoted quickly if it wasn't for the high dance requirement needed for erena's spot.
I think watching the new kenkyuusei stage might hold the best clues...izuta rina is in mayu's spot and is apparently a good performer.

That was my first reaction when I saw the title of this thread.
I'm thinking Shimada Haruka is probably a pretty safe bet to take the spot. :yep:

What Erepyon leaves behind will probably take more than 1 girl to equally replace...
Shallowness aside, I believe her replacement will only be there to make up the numbers. New team K is packed with superstars now in Miichan and Tomochin. So I predict a middle-tier kenkyusei member.

I wonder if looking like Erena will prove to be an advantage or disadvantage for Harukyan in the long term...
Shimada Haruka does seem to get a lot of exposure.. she's bound to get promoted sooner or later.

Digging this back up cause I had some more thoughts about it when Masa mentioned how he wished all the 9th gen RS could just get promoted as a team. While the consensus looks to be Shimada Haruka, what's wrong with having just 47 members? I realize the whole point is that there's supposed to be 48 members but before the shuffle I don't know how many total members there were but I'm sure it wasn't 48. The teams weren't even at 16 a piece either. I think it would be possible to have someone or multiple girls take over for her in all the Team K songs. I realize that Akimoto is often in no ways fair to some members but I think it might piss some fans and RS off if only Haruu got promoted. Honestly I agree with Masa also. I like this 9th gen a lot and it would suck to see them split up. Now that the teams are finally in order they seem to be set for at least a year or two, however there's always unforeseen circumstances (for which this thread wouldn't exist if Erena hadn't graduated). So does this seem like a possibility to anyone or is Haruu pretty much still gonna get it :lol:

I want Haruu in Team B myself, or failing that, A....
Having said that, I see a lot of speculation from Japanese fans that it could be Sano Yuriko. She doesn't really have a Team K image though. I'm personally hoping that they don't promote a girl right away, because I really like the research students are they are right now... but with the next generation coming in very soon, it seems likely it'll be promotion time for someone.

This is a bad time to be an RS, in the sense that there isn't going to be many graduations coming up.
I suppose that's why they've been getting their own unit/promotions, the girls would probably leave otherwise and aki-p wants to keep the talent around.

Having learned more about the kenkyuusei since my post, now I would like for Suzuran to replace her. She has Team K vibes and would fit in well with her epic dance skills. Still, I think the safe money is on Haruu. I'd be happy with either one, or even Yuriko.

Yokoyama Yui has been promoted to team K. It was announced on 10-10-10 at the Tokyo Aki Matsuri concert!
It's interesting because Yui seems like a totally different type than Erena. Maybe they went with Yui instead of Haruu because of that?

Skill-wise Yokoyama was by far the clearest choice, although I still feel Haruu had more of a Team K feel. Still, if anything is gonna get me watching Team K shows regularly, it's Yokoyama!!
