With news of this, I wonder about how it will be formed....

It seems to me that with Erika's graduation from c-ute and Koharu's in Momusu, their last singles didn't give them many lines or screen time- I guess to make you see other members more and think "hey, It won't be too bad without these members~"
So I would guess it will either be:
- A normal MM single with a fair bit of Kamei, and the typical few duets given to JunLin...
- They could pull a Kanashimi Twighlight and give all three/just Eri/JunLin BIG solos or leads
- Or even so a song similar to Resonant Blue and just focus on the remaining front girls ; 3 ;

Sadly, I don't really expect huge lead parts for Eri, Jun, and/or Lin. (No matter how much I'd love for that to happen D:) I wouldn't think that they'd want to have to sort out replacement parts after they've graduated... :\ But, I hope I'm wrong!

I remember being disapointed when I heard Ai covering Yossie's solo in Kanashimi Twighlight D: (I didn't like many members yet so I ended up getting pretty angry some girl I knew nothing about was covering my no.1's line XD )
I suppose this could mean more lines for Sayumi and Aika? : D I wouldn't mind that- not one bit~

I've found a very interesting story about the new single on a Japanese entertainment news community on livejournal.
Morning Musume, 2ch leaks and sushi bars
A week ago, the Mo-wota (Morning Musume wota) leaked a backstage conversation between Hello! Pro girls Natsuyaki Miyabi and Tanaka Reina. They were talking about their upcoming singles. Miyabi was telling Reina that Berryz Kobo's new single would be about bento and Reina told her that Momusu's would be about sushi and would be titled "Appare! Kaitenzushi", to which Miyabi exclaimed "Tsunku-san is into food topics lately!".
Much to the wota surprise the conversation was no joke. With Tsunku you never know what's coming next, and Reina's words became true just yesterday when the new Morning Musume song was leaked at a sushi bar. This is it:

It seems playing the song at sushi places was part of the song's promotion (buzz marketing). However, 2ch spent the night of the leak commenting how inappropriate this song was to be an A-side and that a triple graduation deserved a better song. Less than 24 hours after the leak, Up-Front sent out a fax stating that they were pushing back Momusu's 44th single from 10/13 to 11/17. Rumor has it that UFA higher-ups conceded it wouldn't be the best theme for a graduation single and hence the delay.
This story seems identical to another Momusu's mysterious episode exactly five years ago. "Koi wa Hassou Do The Hustle!" was announced to be Momusu's 28th single but after very poor reviews on 2ch the single was pushed back, "Koi wa Hassou" became the B-side and a re-cut song from their previous album, "Chokkan 2", became the A-side.
With a three months gap from now until the new release date, the faith of the sushi song is unknown. Stay tuned!

If you look at the release date now it seems like it's true. But I agree that it's not an appropriate last single for Eri, Jun, and Lin.

Appare! Kaitenzushi makes me think of a mix between Shibugakitai's Appare! Fujiyama and Sushi Kui ne. I hope the single becomes a double A-side to keep as many people as possible happy.

A double A-Side'd be good; I just hope that they keep with the Sushi Bar song, because even though it's silly... that's what I like.
Still, idk, getting leaked at sushi bars... really? That seems like it's hitting a bit of a low, marketing wise.

It's funny how people always expect graduation singles to be extra special to the leaving member, when that hasn't really been the case for a while. You're lucky if you get a good song as your last one, let alone one where you have solo lines, if you aren't a lead member. That sushi thing is just too much though, the timing for this is horrible. Sometimes I wonder where the heck they get the people working for the management XD Or maybe it was Tsunku's "great" idea
For me, some of the best songs are when a new member joins the group, not when someone leaves. Since 5th gen we got Mr. Moonlight, Shabondama, Iroppoi Jirettai and Egao Yes Nude as the "new generation" songs, each with a new direction of sound and imo great pop song. That's why when I was bored with MM I was hoping for a new audition, because a new gen means another new direction. All recent-ish leaving songs haven't been bad either, e.g. Osaka koi no uta and Kanashimi Twilight, but I think it was more a coincidence than anything else. I don't think they save these songs for a special occasion, or Tsunku thinks "zomg this member is leaving, better write an awesome song." As a creator, he surely must think that ALL his songs are awesome... Like this sushi thing lol
Anyway I'm mostly tl;dr babbling because it's postwhoring weekend :lol:

^I personally would prefer a Frankenstein theme. I mean, it can't just be me thinking about Frankenstein experiments when hearing the first line saying "electro compulsive therapy, part one". XD Or something suitably crazy, mad scientist-ish, and hopefully with more crack than anyone knows what to do with. :lol: Or they could do something Halloween-ish. I wouldn't mind that either. Neither would some of the girls *coughAichancough*
Still, if that sushi song makes it into that single either as the b-side, or god forbid, the A-side, at least we'll still be getting crack. Just...I'm not sure if we can beat the insanity of Hyokkori Hyoutanjima anytime soon. Unless they turn the girls into Iron Chefs and make them sing and dance in a sushi shop...or even better, dress them up as sushi and make them dance on that revolving belt. That would be interesting, if fucked up. XD

Since this is Eri and JunLin (aka, Turtle and the Pandas) last single (not counting Muten Musume's), I''m definitely going all out on this one, and just in time, too. I was about to order Eri's latest PB and MoMusu 2011 Calender as well.
I wonder if they'll be out around the same time cuz I want to order/pre-order on YesAsia for the Free Shipping. When will the other items be released?

Momusu's 44th single will be "princess themed"
Morning Musume's 44th single will have a "princess" theme, said Morning Musume's manager today via her Twitter account. Also on Twitter, manager posted a picture of Eri dressing what is believed to be one of the single's outfit.

Koharu graduated with a princess song too. I just hope it won't be another Kimagure Princess. Not that I hated that single, it just wasn't that great to me. But I'm really anxious to hear the song and hope it gives Eri, Jun, and Lin justice as their last single.

^ Ohmy... With AKB48's chart dominating success going on lately, I'd imagine SKE48 will win- though with it being Eri, Jun and Lin's second to last single, momusu may prove more popular! :D
I've just noticed Sayumi is at the front with Ai in the cartoon cover, as well as bottom center in the other one-- Could she be getting the chance to become more of a front girl for a while, now only afew of this lineups members will remain?~

Sounds like Kimagure Princess part 2...without the chipmunk voices. :lol: Admittedly, I prefer that song over this new one so far, but it still sounds good, and maybe I can develop a better sense of it by the time the full version comes out, so I look forward to that.
Not too fond of those cover outfits...though interesting how some of the girls' colors got switched around (Junjun and Reina trading shades of blue, yellow going to Linlin instead of Ai). WHAT DOES IT MEAN

I've said it before but I'll say it again. It's crap. The song itself is just bad and the costumes look cheeeeap, I could prolly make something better. Although I'm not surprised, I'm still disappointed :(

PV is pretty bad. No imagination at all. Sigh. What else can we expect from H!P? It's exactly what we've been seeing all the time. orz
I do, however, enjoy the song. I didn't like the radio rip at first, to be honest. The pausing in between verses only really works when the quality is remotely decent. XD And also, the fact that there was all that pausing gives it an opportunity for more creative choreography, or at least something more flashy and dramatic than the generic crap they gave us here yet again. Sigh. Unexploited potential...
The only reason I even like the PV at all is because Ai is in it. :lol: And that because I'm her fan lol. MM needs to do much better than this if they ever want to make it to the big time again...

I love how they've actually got a wide range of backgrounds/shots for once in a MM pv! :panic: BUT... those dresses don't suit the choreography- not to mention I don't think the dance suits the song very well... D:
Still- I love this song, and I like the use of different backgrounds/settings-- also- LINES for the members who get left out normally!! So I'm still pretty much in love with this single~
Just a shame because I was hoping to learn the dance if it was awesome like Kimagure Princess- but this fails to make me want to learn it... ; 3 ;

Why they don't post HD versions of their stuff I'll never understand.
I can't say the video is "horrible" or anything...the worst I can say is that it looks like the standard stuff H!P's been doing for the past few years, which isn't bad, but isn't impressive or new either. It's just...okay I guess? And I suppose I'm just being weird here, but I kinda prefer the bright dance outfits over the fluffy elegant dresses...although the boots are still iffy. :P
Hearing the song again, I've decided that I like it. Like the video, it's nothing impressive, but it works, and the sudden stops bring a nice subtle change to the usual formula. But it seems like Morning Musume has become H!P's "boring" group, whereas with other recent singles C-ute gave us something semi-aggressive, Berryz returned to another funky track, and Mano and S/mileage being upbeat and genki. Personally I'm okay with sticking with what works and I always respect consistency, but I know other people have a problem with this sense of predictability, and I'll concede that it would be nice if the flagship group had more spark to their music (though I'm also convinced that if recent MM songs were released years ago they'd probably be better received, but that's another discussion entirely).
But something hopefully all of us agree on (plus it just deserves more emphasis): Ai with the ponytail is awesome. :rockon:

It's a little different from the sounds they've had with Seishun and onna ga medatte naze ikenai... those two, I honestly never really got into :/
The starts and stops of the song are awesome, and I hope Tsunku follows this up with another single that continues to experiment with stuff like that...
As for the PV, I'm not going to sit here and nitpick... sure it could've been more original, better directed, the choreography too. But I'm really just enjoying it all as it is. I wonder how many more singles I'm going to follow before I'm through with Momusu (hopefully not in a long time!). ^__^
I'm very slightly disappointed that Eri & the pandas did not get as much screen time and solo lines as they probably deserve (I don't mind Ai getting a lot... but Reina? I feel like I've had plenty of her already, please more of the others...). But whatever, at least they got something.
Oh, and contrary to some opinions I've been hearing, I rather like Ai's simple (and very bouncy) high ponytail. :inlove:

Looks like the single's on pace to finish at #6 for the week, despite sales numbers comparable to the last three singles. I guess that's expected when you release at the same time as KAT-TUN, Arashi, AAA, SKE48, and Kobukuro. But on a more positive (and essentially more important) note, it's on pace to surpass Seishun Collection for first week sales (34K), possibly for total sales as well (40K).
Looking at both sales performance and the songs themselves, it's kind of an interesting way to close the book on the "Panda era" of Momusu, pretty much ending in the opposite way it started: an energetic pounding sound (Onna ni Sachi Are/Lullaby Game), a happy song that didn't sell well (Mikan/Seishun Collection), a rhythmic '90s style beat arranged by Daichi Suzuki (Resonant Blue/OgMNI), a gimmicky dance song (Pepper Keibu/Kimagure Princess), and a song about relationships (Naichau Kamo/Nanchatte Renai), with Shouganai Yume Oibito sitting perfectly in the middle as the only song to reach #1. Funny how that works out.
Maybe the next single will feature angry lyrics and the second coming of Yossy? :lol:

Incredible because I simply can't stop listening to it. It's on my PS3, on my iPod, it's everywhere I go. Even if I happen to be somewhere away from the song I'm humming it around.

Whereas I merely liked "Lullaby Game", I'm hooked on the B-side. It's got a funkier house/electronic feel and lots of energy and attitude, sounding a bit like it came from the Sonic CD soundtrack. :shakeit: It's clear that Tsunku can still make exciting songs for this group, but those songs need to be pushed to the forefront instead of tucked away like this.
Speaking of sales, it's official (http://blog.livedoor.jp/ustan777/archives/51770649.html)...this single sold more in its first week than the previous single did in its entire run! Great to see an upswing, though I wonder how much was helped by the buzz surrounding the triple graduation. Hopefully this momentum can carry on into the new year and new lineup.
