Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern is a documentary-styled travel and cuisine program hosted by Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Channel. The first season debuted on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 9pm ET/PT. Season 5 began on Monday, April 26, at 10 E/P.

Bizarre Foods focuses on regional cuisine from around the world which is typically perceived by Americans as being gross, unique, or, of course, bizarre. In each episode, Zimmern focuses on the cuisine of a particular country or region. He typically shows how the food is procured, where it is served, and, usually without hesitation, eats it.

Originally a one-hour documentary titled Bizarre Foods of Asia, repeated showings on the Travel Channel drew consistent, considerable audiences. In late 2006, it was decided to turn the documentary into a weekly, one-hour show with the same premise and with Andrew Zimmern as the host. In 2009, Zimmern took a break from Bizarre Foods to work on a season of the spin-off Bizarre World which will not be airing anymore.

Zimmern ends every episode with his line "If it looks good, eat it."

this is probably one of the best shows dealing with food and you can learn about how people use every part of the animal and I have tried some of the stuff, which was really good, durian was awesome too XD

I say again:
Dammit I wish we got this show here in Peg Sheety.

Guess that means I've got another show to look for. :)

Poisonous is not the right word because most things aren't, but he takes on weird items that does turn my stomach

I watched once when he's eating scorpion, stale tofu, centipede, and many weird creatures... Euhh..
Of course not all of the food are poisonous. I am just exaggerating since I won't be able to do as he did. LOL

^ yeah I remembered that, although to be honest somethings aren't that bad, we all eat something foreign to each other and he says that what people believe to be tasty differs all around the world, I think he used peanut butter as a great example to people in S. America, since they heaven't seen it before, they were hesitant and one even gave a bad expression

Yeah, if I think about it, even siblings can have different taste about food. I don't like vegie while my sisters really like it. I love beef a lot but my mom really hate it

In China, they even cook CAT, DOG, and MONKEY... WTF??? Have you seen it? The process how they make the food from that lovely creature

When i see the foods of different countries. It just tells me what kind of life they lived.. "strange" or "nasty" foods just tells you what they have been through to survive. people are just ignorant when they go ewwww or i would never eat that.

I know what you mean. I don't see the big deal about eating dogs. They're meat just like cows and chickens. Just ask yourself, what is so different from eating other animals?
