Further more: What's everyone's thoughts on the girls using screen names? does it feel wrong? or is it just another idol necessity that everyone is used to?

I hate it.

With a name like sashiko, we can't use 'sashiharassment' anymore :/

New fans will no longer confuse Sashihara and Kitahara... what has the world become!

It was unexpected but I pretty much don't care. Especially since it's not much different from her real name anyway.
The plan most likely was to give her a name that's easier to remember or something to that extent. If it helps her, I'm all for it but it doesn't change my opinion of her as long as she doesn't change her awesome personality as well.
 
I feel the same about other stage names / screen names.

I don't like it. I've always liked her name, because it always seemed "unique" to me (I've never seen anyone with the names 'Sashihara' or 'Rino'). Sashiko's an okay name, but I don't like it as a stage name. =/

I fucking hate it. IMO only JAV-stars should have stage names. Having a stage name makes Rino seem less like a normal girl and more like a celebrity. I sure hope them other AKB-members don't follow her example :thumbdown:

I don't like the name change either. Sashihara had a friendly ring with it, and complimented her personality.
I'll need to take some time to get used to this one.

I can still call her Sasshi so I don't mind.

Though it is weird that the pick NOW to change her name.
