General AKBar announcement:

As an alternative to the girl of the week I decided to randomly sticky some girls that are in focus. This can be due to some announcement, great magazine shoots or a funny appearance in a tv show, etc. I haven't worked out the details yet, as to how long a thread will get stickied. My schedule is very random so I'd like to keep it a bit free.

Secondly, I am willing to take requests from you guys to sticky a certain girl's thread. If you want a girl to get stickied, just PM me with your motivation  :)

I'll try to keep a list of who got stickied so that every girl gets a couple of days in the spotlight. I also want to limit it to 2 or 3 girls at the time.

I started with Sayaka and Mayu. Sayaka for her resignation as captain and Mayu for the great magazine shoots lately.

Some updates / new rules regarding the picture forums:

- Gif files are now treated the same as pictures. This means they should go in the picture threads as thumbnails. This will make the board faster to load and easier to read.

- Please avoid uploading png files to the picroda. Png files tend to be pretty big and usually the quality difference compared to a jpg is minimal.

I realize not everybody is fluent in English. However, this is an international forum and we use English to communicate.
At least try to use some spell checker or translation program if you're not confident. If I can't understand a post it will be deleted.

I just want to re-cap some of the main rules as a reminder and for all the new members.
I’m glad we have more people posting, but I also want to keep things clean so that we can all enjoy our stay here.

All those rules are important, but I really want to emphasise:
a)   Strictly NO sexual themed images, videos or talk about persons below 18 years of age.

In addition, don't be a hater. With 200+ girls we can't like them all, but at least respect each other's fandoms.

AKBar48 picture posting rules (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=28385.0)
In particular:  All pictures must be thumbnailed. Posts containing full-sized pictures will be edited or deleted.
This keeps the loading times down and it avoids endless scrolling.


If you use the picroda for uploading pictures, please read the Picroda Rules (http://picroda.jphip.com/upload.php?act=rules)
Please tag your pictures properly, so we can avoid doubles as much as possible and it will make it easier to search pictures of a particular girl.

Use full name, order: first name, last name (ie. Haruna Kojima)
- 2 people, combine full names with & (Rena Matsui & Yuki Kashiwagi)
- 3 people, combine with , and & (Minami Takahashi, Atsuko Maeda & Tomomi Kasai)
- For more than three people, use a group or an umbrella name (No Sleeves, AKB48)

As you may have noticed, a lot of threads contain dead picture links. These pics were mostly hosted by photobucket, by lesser known or by personal upload sites. I will be deleting posts with dead links as I come across them. So if you notice your post count has dropped a bit, it may be because of this.

If you want to avoid this from happening, and have more than 50 posts, feel free to use the Jphip Picroda (http://picroda.jphip.com/), which guarantees the pictures will stay alive.

In a last effort to raise discussion in the girl threads I posted my thoughts on all the current AKB48 girls. I'd love it if all of you would continue to pimp your own favorites, but also check out some of the lesser known girls. They are worth it. AKB48 is full of treasures and you will discover them if you put in the effort. I'd would also like it if everybody considered SKE48 and NMB48 a worthy part of the AKB48 umbrella. They are not AKB48's rivals, but rather more girls who have so much to offer. Don't let SKE48 and NMB48 go to waste due to some prejudice! Give them a chance, if you haven't already.

We have grown immensely these past years and I want to truly thank everybody who posts at the AKBar48 / Jphip. I'd go over each and every one of you, but I'm afraid I may forget someone. We haven't been able to do all the things I had in mind for the AKBar just yet, but hopefully we can keep the ball rolling in the future.  :jphip:
