Welcome to the Ultimate Morning Musume single poll! :peace:
This poll was last held here in 2006, which means it's not one of those annoying polls that shirenu runs every year.
All Morning Musume singles (except Sakuragumi/Otomegumi) are included and have been randomly split into six teams, A - E. Each team has 7 or 8 songs.
3 songs with most points from each team will make it to round 2.
Because I would actually like you to watch the videos and listen to the songs before you vote, the threads are initially locked. They will be unlocked one by one every few days. Once all threads are unlocked, there are still 5 or so days left to vote; round 1 ends Monday December 13.
How to vote: List the 3 songs that you want to make it to the next round. That's all :lol:
Usually the polls are just everyone giving their votes, but if you want to explain why you voted each song, or what kind of thoughts came up while you were watching the videos, any babble is ok :3
I realize that a poll like this could be simply done with, you know, a poll machine. But I want people to actually reply. Mwahaha.
Round 2 will be open for 1 week, so until Monday Dec 20th. There will be teams A - C then, 3 songs from each will make round 3 again.
In round 3 the voting will possibly be different; I haven't decided yet. Suggestions are welcome. Either way the voting will end Dec 30 or so.
Any unbanned forum member is free to vote so go for it folks!

Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ - Yossy establishes her pimp status to a catchy swing music homage...can't beat that.
Aruiteru - So this is what happens when Tsunku tries to Rickroll everyone... XD Seriously, this song sounds like a Stock-Aitken-Waterman production from the '80s, and I mean that in a good way. And the outdoor video of the girls just walking really stands out from the closed set dance numbers they usually do.

3. SEXY BOY ~Soyokaze ni Yorisotte~: Yossy's so damn hot in this :heart: Although I have grown to like the original version more and more lately, my favorites are still OnGatas' version and Yossy's "rockish" solo in one of Her Dinner Shows.
This was very hard... I could have easily vote for every video.

This is the vote I dreaded, every song could qualify, but only 3 can be chosen:
1)The Peace! Simply one of the finest examples of Idol Music Video ever made. Great song (with interesting back story) beautiful direction, MoMu probably at their strongest vocally with this lineup, and Rika was shining! Greatest set idea ever- Mens toilet disco! MoMu Navy wins the War!
2) Aruiteru- 110% feel good song, and nothing wrong with that. Members look beautiful, a great chance to see them out of show costume, and the outdoor setting was loverly. But again the song itself is so nice, a video, sets, costumes were all secondary to the music and the voices.
3)Koko ni iruzee! Creative use of ska sound, great sights and sounds, styro rocks hitting NoNo in the noggin, Konkon's brown belt front kick, Dickens newsboy look, great hook line (lonely boys and girls)- so much to like. MoMu Army takes the day!
Honourable mention to all the songs, but especially Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari, which is probably the song more responsible to getting YouTube fans hooked on Hello!Project than any other.

Jeeez, another rough batch...
THE PEACE! Arguably one of the ten best of all time.
ROMAN MY DEAR BOY Amazingly this song was used in a story segment on National Public Radio (http://saburo.posterous.com/27285890) as a archetype of mainstream pop music in Japan, illustrating how banal and corporate it is. Funny cause I think this is one of the most ROCKIN' song ever to be released in the Musume Canon. Oh, well; their loss.
MR. MOONLIGHT ~AI NO BIG BAND~ I think it's between this and "Koko ni Iruzee!" I chose this one because the arrangement is something we never experienced, before or since. And also unforgettable is how it brought Yossie to the forefront as a solid performer and personality in the group. That she became quite the babe during this period didn't hurt either.

The Peace is so awesome it's the only jpop song that makes my co-workers dance, as opposed to make them stop to look at me funny or ask me "what the hell is this?". In fact, they like it so much they often request it, and get very upset if I don't have it with me for our parties.
Sexy Boy, in addition to being a very good pop song, brings back tons of bittersweet memories of living in Japan. Ffffuuuuu.
I'm not really sure why my last vote goes to Roman.. @_@; But it does. I just think it's a great song. Honourable mentions to pretty much EVERY OTHER SONG IN THIS GROUP. Aaaaugh, this was tough xD;

1)Sexy Boy ~Soyokaze ni Yorisotte~ : My favorite Musume song of all time. This will continue to be my #1 if it survives throughout the voting.
2)Roman My Dear Boy. : I like it, and its instrumentals. It reminds me of music in ATV Offroad Fury 2.
3)The Peace! : Makes me feel nostolgic.

Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari - First pv I ever watched of Morning Musume- I became obsessed, thought Kago and Tsuji were twins due to their identical outfits and that blonde girl in the blue shirt kept catching my eye.... even though she was described as a boyish girl... >___> what was this?
Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ - After researching this blonde girl called "Hitomi"? I read she cross dressed and sung in a video called Mr.Moonlight- checked that out.... and realised.... I liked girls!!! >D Well... I knew kind of but that just set me off completely! XD Awesome song, awesome Yossie!~ :heart:
THE PEACE - Yeah- it's awesome- urinals, sailor outfits, toilet cubicles, shiny "mm" flag~~ I love this PV! :D

Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari - Hands down one of my all time favourites. It's fast paced, and the sax isn't bad either.
Mr. Moonlight - As with life, variety is a spice. Loving the broadway feel if this one, as well as the dramatic shifts in pitch, when the the "boys" sing.
THE PEACE! - The lyrics are so ridiculous. Sweet intro.
Honorable mention: Koko ni iruzee. Damn you for putting these four in the same post.

Ugh, this one was extremely difficult XD So many great singles. I looooove all these A-sides except Aruiteru.
Koko ni Iruzee is one of my fave MM songs, such great energy and strength in it. And I loooove Jun Lover as well. Cannot eliminate this one. <3
The Peace is a great classic and never ceases to be fun and exciting when I listen to it. Same for its B-side, Dekkai, which many people seem to dislike but I loooooove!! I even love doing the dance whenever I watch the old concerts XD <3
One last spot... So difficult...
I looove JKM but decided to eliminate it because it can get repetitive. Same for its B-side, Jun Lover, which is such a sweet sounding song and brings me lovely memories from O!P. <3
Sexy Boy is good but just not as good as the others to me.
I never liked Aruiteru, much less Morning Curry, so no.
It's so difficult to choose between Mr. Moonlight and RMDB. >_< I don't particularly love either of their b-sides so that doesn't help me. Both have great fun coreographies and I liked the styling and costumes of both. Both PV's were pretty cool. I guess my tie breaker is gonna end up being the AWESOMENESS that are Nacchi and Yossi dressed as boys XDDD *_____________*

1. THE PEACE! - hands down best MM single. Rika Centre. Funny solo, PV one of the best ever urinals turn into disco, Kaori on a toilet.
2. Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari - one of the most interactive, unique PVs around. i rewatched it like a million times trying to see the improv action in the background.
3. Roman My Dear Boy - CHYEEEEAAAH!! Rika so sexy with her tie, black hair and sleeveless shirt. The World Domination scene with the 85 Girls was :fap
