Welcome to the Ultimate Morning Musume single poll! :peace:
This poll was last held here in 2006, which means it's not one of those annoying polls that shirenu runs every year.
All Morning Musume singles (except Sakuragumi/Otomegumi) are included and have been randomly split into six teams, A - E. Each team has 7 or 8 songs.
3 songs with most points from each team will make it to round 2.
Because I would actually like you to watch the videos and listen to the songs before you vote, the threads are initially locked. They will be unlocked one by one every few days. Once all threads are unlocked, there are still 5 or so days left to vote; round 1 ends Monday December 13.
How to vote: List the 3 songs that you want to make it to the next round. That's all :lol:
Usually the polls are just everyone giving their votes, but if you want to explain why you voted each song, or what kind of thoughts came up while you were watching the videos, any babble is ok :3
I realize that a poll like this could be simply done with, you know, a poll machine. But I want people to actually reply. Mwahaha.
Round 2 will be open for 1 week, so until Monday Dec 20th. There will be teams A - C then, 3 songs from each will make round 3 again.
In round 3 the voting will possibly be different; I haven't decided yet. Suggestions are welcome. Either way the voting will end Dec 30 or so.
Any unbanned forum member is free to vote so go for it folks!

Egao Yes Nude is groovy and sexy. lol
Souda! is one of the most creative and random pieces of pop music I've heard, in a totally awesome way.

I WISH Probably still my favorite Musume song of all time.
SOUDA! WE'RE ALIVE Gen-5 breakthrough. And the first "Single V" ever.
IROPPOI JIRETTAI Noted as The Miracle's Debut but still a helluva tune when Tsunku and his production team could do no wrong. Underrated.

This one hurts to leave off some of the songs....but if I have to choose three, so be it....
1)Love Machine- The big hit deserved to be a big hit- combination of Disco Magic, great song, some memorable dance moves, and the often overlooked fantastically talented Aya Ishiguro and her magical facial expressions. A Great Song, yes, but an Epic Music Video- where watching and listening are both a must. And introducing an individual who is unlike any other in the idol genre- Maki Goto (Maki appears in my top three choices today)
2) Souda! We're ALIVE- Base thumping, drums pounding, Girls chanting, colors popping, Marshall Amps stacking, Grooving and Moving....You can hit the streets or the sheets, it don’t make me no nevermind. That’s your bag, baby. You can go or you can come, can you dig it? (Thank you Black Dynamite!)
3) I WISH straight from the feelgood uplifting part of the H!P song book, and again a great watchable video, with a really cute storyline. Rika looking good, feeling good!

Oddly I'm not voting for their most popular song ever here. :lol: Then again, that seems to be the case in these polls recently. Problem here though is 3 of my all-time favs are in this group.
1. I Wish - So incredibly sentimental.
2. Souda! We're Alive - Such an incredible song. I heard someone say once at a forum that this is like 3 different songs all in one, and that's really rather true, but they go together quite well. I like complex epicness :heart:
3. Ai Araba IT's ALL RIGHT! - This used to be one of my top favorites cause the video is just insanely cute, but sadly I don't listen to it as much anymore...

Souda! We're alive: Epic Win. Colors, dance, music, jumping, a remix of awesomeness in only one song. Solo lines sounds fantastic to me here for some reason. Maki :heart:
I WISH: I tear up with this song each damn time. And Aibon final lines... :cry: Emotionally epic.
Ai araba IT'S ALL RIGHT!: Nacchi's last. Too adorable for words, song and pv both.

Souda! We're Alive - DORYOKU! MIRAI! Just can't beat the funky rhythms and swagger in this song; I love how those elements remain even with the constant style switching.
Ai Araba It's All Right - Again with the funky rhythms...excellent bass lines and horn hits won me over for this otherwise overly sugary song. :P
I Wish - Same as above, except with turntable scratches. FUN FACT: This song contains a sample of "It's Funky Enough" by The D.O.C....yes, you are sensing a pattern here. ;)
I was tempted to throw in a vote for Daite Hold On Me, just because of Utaban. :lol: I also feel bad for not voting for Love Machine and Egao Yes Nude, but the other songs took priority.

Souda! We're Alive! - One of the first few pvs I happened to watch when getting into Morning Musume (For some reason I only watched about 3 or 4 for ages before trying to watch others) made me realise momusu are so funny and their older work (though I stupidly thought this era was current at the time... XD; ) was very different to anything I'd seen before and funky! :lol:
Ai Araba It's Alright! - Took me quite a long time to hear this song and watch the pv, and I wasn't overly keen on it- it was a bit to slow if that makes sence- not really fast and dancey like some other singles but seeing it performed live has swung me- watching some members cry whilst singing it at a graduation (It might of been Nachi's but I saw it before I knew everyones names so I forget D: ) and recently watched it in the Haru The Best of Japan 2004 and they had loads of fun through it and members kept hugging and messing around~~ So a very strong and memorable song to me now~!
LOVE MACHINE - One of the most memorable songs I think of when I think of Morning Musume~ I used to burst into singing/humming Love machine or Renai Revolution 21 and trying to do the dance when teaching bonhello about them ; u ; :heart:

Another difficult one.... Especially since I love all the A-sides but don't like their B-sides, making it harder for me to eliminate singles XD My votes go to:
Souda! We're Alive - LOOOOVE this song, dance, PV, etc. So crazy and fun and energetic *_*
Iroppoi jirettai - great song, dance, costumes, PV
I WISH
For that last spot I was super torn between Hyokkori Hyoutanjima, I WISH and Love Machine.
I eliminated Love Machine because I just don't think the PV or costumes or dance were that great and I probably love it more for the classic-ness of it and the memories it brings than for it actually being a good song.
I absolutely love the other two songs, and their fun choreographies and concepts, and their adorable PVs. In the end, I went with I WISH because of the feelings I get when I watch the PV. Also, Aibon's extreme cuteness in it is +++.

SHIT! Another hard one :banghead:
1. I WISH - BLAM! The best PV of all time, love the storyline, each MM interacting with a version of themselves. LOL @ Nono picking up the hot dog off the ground and serving it THEN GETS PWND when she doesn't get paid - just pure happiness - Akogare My Boy one of the best B-Sides too.
2. Love Machine - how I got into MM, stands the test of time in sex appeal (esp. sayaka <3) 21seiki is also a superior B-Side. YES! YES!
3. Souda! We're Alive - REAL Energetic song makes you wanna GO! GO! GO! defines what a H!P Song should be. Rika doing her best angy voice with a purse xD
