Some people like to talk to their plants. Now, students at Singapore Polytechnic say they have created a plant that can communicate with people — by glowing when it needs water. (http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=1695006)

Nice. That plant could survive in my care. I'd prefer a plant that glows when it doesn't need water. It would be more cool that way. Otherwise I'd probably torture the plant because I want to see the glow.

they should make a plant which kicks your ass when it's thirsty

Agreed.
That would be the ultimate plant at raves, as long as it is in dire need of water.

Singapore power +1~!
Really interesting. There's been tons of stuff they've been putting that jellyfish gene into, and this one is pretty practical..

Which reminds me of that movie, Pet Shop of Horrors, I think the name was? If I remember right it resembled the spitting fire plant in the mario bros.

Yeaaah that's it, thanks ctz.. Apparently the makers of this film thought plants were the devil!

This would be terribly useful for me. Maybe then the silly money-plant in the office would stop dying on me coz we would know when it needed water and not over water it. >_<

Nice idea but i think it will turn out in a mutant or somthing like in Hollow Man
