５周年で研究生８人昇格“ＡＫＢ５６”に
「ＡＫＢ４８」が８日、東京・秋葉原の「ＡＫＢ４８劇場」でのデビューから５周年を迎え、同所で特別公演を行った。 ４８人に加え、研究生、卒業生ら計８２人が集結。オープニングでは０５年１２月８日にデビューした当時のチームＡメンバー１６人が登場し、観客がわずか７人だったデビュー日を再現。その後もチームＫ、チームＢがそれぞれデビュー当時のメンバー構成で歌って踊った。アンコールのラストはインディーズでのデビュー曲「桜の花びらたち」を８２人で合唱。盛大に“誕生日”を祝った。
「きょうは泣かないように頑張ります」と話していた高橋みなみ（１９）だが、最後には涙、涙。「ＡＫＢ４８に入ってわかったことがあります。それは“あきらめなければ夢はかなう”ということです。これからも、夢の扉を１つ１つ開けていこうと思ってます」と話し、観客の涙を誘った。
公演の最後には研究生８人の昇格を発表。大場美奈（１８）、島崎遥香（１６）、島田晴香（１７）、竹内美宥（１４）、永尾まりや（１６）、中村麻里子（１６）、森杏奈（１６）、山内鈴蘭（１６）が昇格。所属チームは未定で、今後５６人体制となる。高橋は「今まで以上に大変なことがあると思うけど、一緒に頑張ろう」とうれし泣きする研究生に優しく声をかけ、「これから“ＡＫＢ５６”をよろしくお願いします」とファンに呼びかけた。

I don't want to see Haruna leaving AKB48!

Actually takamina said that akb48 is increasing to 56 members.
The current theory is that to do with the decreasing amount of stage performances and having rotating members like himawari-gumi. THIS I LIKE. <3 Need more stage shows.
also ah god komari, I thought she might be left behind due to her lower popularity SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW.

I hope there aren't any graduations too soon! :panic:
Though I think they'd most likely graduate less popular members ; n ; which is a shame- I mean, I can't see them graduating the most popular and best selling members! Though maybe Acchan.... but Yuko will probably be kept quite a long time as she's recently been crowned number 1! XD
OH.... I just thought of something really awful.... What if their 20th single was a "Goodbye Acchan" single..... O_____O
and the start of a new AKB48 era?? D:
