Chapter 1
Aika woke up on the ground with the rain hitting her, she turned over to her side as she saw a girl squatting by the dumpster as she offered a hand to pick her up. The woman looked at her tattered clothes and threw a coat over her. Aika could only see her mouth as she whispered thank you to her and saw her ran off.
“I wonder who she could be.” Aika said to herself.
Around the next corner, the hooded woman was approached by two men, they were husky and looking at the frail-sized woman, they pushed her aside as walked away laughing and in an instant, she clicked her fingers. Everything froze around her and quickly dug into their pockets for money and clicked her fingers back when she ran away.
“Wow, twenty thousand yen, I better get to my hideout before they notice their money is gone.” She ran into the apartment building and opened her door to see the treasures she collected from her past heists. As she placed the money into the safe, a card hit the floor and it was an I.D. Card. She looked at it and noticed it was the girl she saved earlier in the day.
“Mitsui Aika... Sounds nice and unique...” She said to herself as she slipped it into another drawer with the rest of the cards. Remembering that she was once a normal girl becoming a woman but the curse of her own greed gave her whatever she wanted, however, the one thing she couldn't obtain was... love.
Aika walked it all the way back to her place as the coat gave her warmth and shelter needed from the rain. She opened the door to see the child of the landlord playing on the floor in front of their doorway, she was Aika's best buddy as all of the tenants were elderly. Her name was Tomoko and since her parents left, she was her lone friend. Aika walked up the stairs from the rain and looking to her left, she saw Tomochan running towards her.
“Aika-chan, Okaeri!” She said as Aika wrapped her arms around her.
“Tadaima!” Aika said with a smile.
“Ah, Aika welcome back home, you seem you got caught in the storm.” Tomochan's mother gave a smirk as she observed the tag on the jacket. She pushed Tomochan into the room and followed Aika upstairs as she got into her apartment. The woman knocked on her door as Aika was getting undressed and jammed her way in to find the jacket on her bed. She looked at the tag and noticed it seemed expensive but to her amazement the tag was shown to be a fake.
“Landlady, what's the matter?” Aika asked as she tried to cover herself with the sheets.
“Nothing, I just had one of those things where something got triggered. Sorry to bother you.” She stepped out and scratched her head as she went back downstairs.
Aika stepped into the bath and began to dream of her hooded hero and something about her gave her a chill down her spine. She wasn't sure if it was her past or just how she felt at the time looking up at the sky and feeling a stranger's hand lifting her up from the ground. She ran her fingers over her legs and found the cuts from the scuffle. Aika began to thought how she got on the ground in the first place, but the blur of the event only gave her comfort of her being at home, safe, sound, and the mystery behind the hooded woman.
-
omg Aika's the main character!!! :w00t:
That's right~ her 18th birthday is coming soon...
and i wonder who the hooded figure could be... reina? :D
please write more~ XD
-
@Sarang: it wasn't really the intent to make her a main character to er make it next year but to actually to do something again out of the box and for Reina... read the chapter?
Chapter 2
The woman removed her hood to reveal her brown hair in pigtails and she sat in her chair as she kept snapping her fingers to slow down the fly by her face. She noticed the wings and its eyes before snapping it back into real time.
“Hmm... all this stuff and no one to share it with....” She said to herself.
After a few moments with her thoughts, she heard a knock on the door, and immediately threw off her hoodie. In the rush, she tripped over the cord and fell to the ground face first. As she pushed herself off the ground, the neighbor's daughter was right in front of her.
“You never fail to impress me.” She said as she offered a hand to pick her up.
“Miyabi, right?” She asked as she dusted herself off and Miya went by the door.
“Yes! You remember my name... Although I never got yours, what is...” The woman slammed the door and locked herself in.
“I gotta get myself ready for anybody coming my way especially people who want my treasures.” She said to herself as she walked over to her closet to reveal the pathway to her secret hideout.
Behind the closet doors was a tunnel leading to where all her best loot was, the jewelry, watches, and stacks of yen filled the room but it was without fault as her best friend left her with all these goods. Her family watched as she slowly grew onto her leading to the family's wealth being given to her. As she watched her wither, the family pointed the finger at each other as she kept visiting her friend until she finally passed on.
“Reina..... Thank you for making them understand ….” She fell flat on her bed as she gave her last hug before the blanket was put over her friend's lifeless body. The memory gave her the pride of being Robin Hood but she couldn't give because no one would have understood why she would steal and then give away. Maybe it was an opportunity to show but it just wasn't the time to let her heart open to another girl especially if it costs her powers.
---
Aika woke up the next morning as she was pondering about the hooded woman appearance, she had a healthy voice and from her bare hands, she seemed young but the image under the hood made her concerned even more. She rolled out of bed and stepped into her closet filled with clothes, lucky for her the school was on vacation so she could go out but with a more observant eye, she put on her clothes and walked out passing by Tomochan.
“Ohayou~” The little girl said as Aika pinched her cheeks.
“Ohayou~ What are you doing today?” Aika asked.
“Going to the park!” She yelled out as her mother grabbed her by the hand and walked out as Aika slowly took the path out into the busy streets. The midday traffic of young kids and teenagers made her a little less concerned for gang members but somehow if it was her appearance or her cousins being members of a rival gang always led to a group being near her.
“Mitsui-san, Ohayou!” The gang member greeted her as she walked by him and the rest of the group blocking her way.
“I said, Ohayou, what are you suppose to say?” She was held by the collar as Aika seemed to be not shaken until another gang came from behind and bashed his head in leading to another melee in the streets as Aika scattered away from the action. With her luck, she found a small park and an old lady feeding the birds. She sat a bench away and greeted her with a cold response, she took a deep breath and let out a sigh as her days never what she wanted it to be.
-
Man another intresting story premis here Kuro!
looking forward to the next chapter, I hope Aika will be O.K.! :huhuh
-
Oh~ I see how this is going.... :D
just a little confused though... so is the friend Reina or the hooded person reina? :nervous
-
@ Sarang At this point Reina and Aika don't know each other so they are on two different storylines until one point where they do meet up although revealing the fact that Reina is the hooded woman is part of the mystery behind her and taking a guess of who left her the money will reveal something Reina lost which leads to her curse
@ oddy Aika is sort of blessed, in a way where she seems protected by someone but Aika will see that not everyone will be nice to her although Tomochan is the exception
I actually wanted to make this a little bit more fairy tale-ish but it will be more of how much greed a person can get before losing what matters and the fight of daily life is equal to the fight against enemies

Chapter 3
Aika sat there as she observed everything around her with the clouds slowly passing by on the overcast day. The woman feeding the birds was rarely kind and sometimes acted harsh toward everyone as her children left her flat to take on opportunities outside of the town. Aika learned a lot about the neighbors through the talks and just took certain assumptions. As for Tomochan, she climbed the jungle gym as she tried to reach for the top.
“Aika, look at me!” She yelled from the bottom as she tried climbing bit by bit before sitting on the poles as she enjoyed the scenery of the park.
Unfortunately, the gangs ran their territories every chance they got and harassed the people to give them money for their dealings. Aika was too young when she heard about her cousins' murders and she avoided them as much as possible but it didn't work as long as the gang was being overbearing and let their intimidating tactics toward everyone. However, Aika knew what was theirs and just being herself made them not bother her as much.
“Aika-san, you look sad?” Tomochan sat by Aika as she removed the hair from her face.
“I am not sad... more relieved.” Tomo tilted her head as Aika struggled to present the words to her.
“I am happy but just enjoying it.” Tomo smiled as she stood on the bench to call for her mother.
Aika turned around to see another girl walk into the group of people and she was getting the catcalls until they all froze in their stance. Their reactions were changed as soon as she was feet away they turned right back toward another girl. Aika followed her to the next corner as she took the turn onto the street and disappeared.
“Aika, where is my mommy?” Tomo asked as she sat back down on the bench as she scanned the area to find no one around. She kept Tomo company until her mother was in view but after an hour of periodic scanning, she never seemed to appear. Aika kept her close as Tomo pointed out where she last saw her and peeked her head in to find no trace of her.
“Aika, where did she go?” Aika scratched her head as she saw a hooded person walking toward the group. It looked like the same one who saved her yesterday and just stood in amazement of her abilities as none ever stopped her. Aika followed with her eyes as she turned and Tomo looked up to find a bird on top of Aika's head.
“You are the best, Aika!” Tomo exclaimed as the bird bounced onto her finger and flew away.
“Thanks.... I think we better get home before dark.” Aika said with the child by her side.
----
Reina had to keep her identity a secret and revealing it could cost her life and especially her jewels for the looting. However, there was a big concern that someone was after her and she was right as her friend past away, the jealous best friend felt that she was robbed of the money and without Reina's knowledge, she took the other vial of the experiment and duplicate it. As she got ready with her hoodie, she took a deep breath and locked the door behind her.
“Reina-san!” Miya shouted.
“What is it?” Reina responded as she removed the hood from her face.
“I think there is something on your shoe.” Miya pointed toward the back as the paper was stuck on it and Reina quickly removed it before putting her hood back on.
Reina went down the elevator down to the street as she looked toward the park seeing the woman and kid playing games with each other as she walked by the gang but it seemed weird as they lack the response she usually would get and clicking her fingers, she saw their faces with a blank expression as she developed a puzzled look on her face.
“They seem rather calm today...” Reina continued walking to the corner as she heard a voice in the alley.
“You seem rather covered up for a good day.” The voice coming from the alley didn't bother her but the voice seemed familiar and she tried to recall it but it was gone as soon as she continued her walk. Looking toward her right she saw the gang holding up another person and clicked her fingers. She quickly dragged him out of the gang's way and stole his wallet as she ran off with another wad of money for her.
“This seems rather a lot and if the gang can't stop me, no one can.” The voice was heard again.
“She never deserved to die, you made her.” Reina took a deep breath and entered into a convenient store where the cashier usually greeted her and it was always a happy moment when she smiled as Reina turned into a puddle of herself.
“You look so cute, why don't you remove your hood so I can see your face...” Reina shook her head and quickly walked back out to her apartment building but something felt wrong on her left side as she felt a dull pain to her side.
“I can't.” Reina talking to herself as she avoided another confrontation from the gangs.
-
Hmm, another mysterious chapter, I wonder what happened to tomo's mother? plus it seems as though everything is not allright for Reina, is she hurt?
-
@oddy the chapter will say what happened
Chapter 4
Reina got herself to the steps of her apartment seeing the kids coming out towards her, she moved to the side to avoid them, and felt the thorns of the rose plants into her back. She fought the pain of the thorns poking her back until she entered into the elevator. She pocketed the money and remove the hoodie from her body as she saw the thorns into her hoodie.
“Rose thorns are so evil for a beautiful flower.” Reina smiled as she exited the elevator and walked down the hallway.
“Reina-san, you seem to be in a good mood....” Miya joked as Reina's face turned red.
“Well at least your girlfriend doesn't know about your secrets...” Reina lashed back with a devious smile.
“At least, I have a girlfriend who I can be with.” Miya stuck out her tongue.
“Right... the girl who has to cheat for people to notice her.” Reina poked Miya's chest as she opened the door to her apartment.
“Shut up!” Miya's angry yell gave Reina more reasons to smile.
As Miya started to rant to wall, Reina threw her hoodie into the wastebasket and opened her closet into her secret lair. The first thing she always saw was a picture of three people, the two friends that were close until the day her friend died and the other becoming jealous of her wealth. Although Reina was cursed with a power that was hard to control. When she died, it was difficult to eat, drink, or even bathe as it became tough to not let the power rule her life. However, she realized the click of her fingers always did the trick and she found that if she could help people without being known it would be beneficial but it never did and it left her to steal.
“Kamei-san, I'm sorry...” Reina prayed as she bowed to her former friend before throwing the money aside and turning on the television. Then she saw the news of a woman fatally stabbed in the park behind the restroom and the missing child. Reina remembered the woman's appearance and she tilted forward to take a better look, she saw her in the park with her daughter playing in the park.
“Hmm this might be a good thing I can do for helping, but maybe tomorrow.” Reina yawned and went to sleep.
---
Aika took her into her apartment and let her sit on her personal couch as she called the police to confirm Tomo's mother as a missing person. However, she just learned about her death and looked over to Tomo as she flipped through her magazines.
“Thank you, sir.” Aika hung up and sat by the phone as she looked over at Tomo.
“What I am going to tell her? This is not my responsibility to say she died but she needs to know...” Aika said to herself as she saw the little girl yawned.
“Tomochan, you look tired, are you hungry?” Aika asked.
“Yes, Aika-chan, Aika is so cool.” Aika smiled as she looked into her fridge and saw her leftover dinner from yesterday and stuck it into the microwave.
“Tomochan, can you help me set up the table?” Aika asked as Tomo took the two forks to the table and went back to the sink to wash her hands.
“Thank you.” Tomochan stood by Aika looking at the microwave with the timer slowly winding down. The timer went off and Aika took out the hot bowl filled with soup and vegetables and took it over to the table with Tomochan standing on the chair. Aika found a small table and let Tomo have her dinner over there while Aika looked over her.
“Aika-chan, are we going to have a bath after this?” Aika nodded as she gave her the bowl of soup and began to eat as Tomo hum through her meal. Aika felt scared to tell her the truth but with no one else to take care of her, Aika kept thinking on how she should approach it, and as Tomo finished her soup, Aika took her bowl to the sink.
“Aika-chan, you look sad.... why are you sad?” Aika looked down and sat her down.
“Your mom... had a freak accident at the park behind the bathroom and she...” Before she could say the words, Tomo teared up as she hugged Aika.
“It can't be.... Tell me my mom isn't in heaven...” Aika took a deep breath as she caressed her head.
“Your mom left this world.” Tomo cried in Aika's arm as Tomo's tears penetrated Aika's shirt.
“Sorry that you have to hear about this at a young age, but I want you to know that I will take care of you until somebody comes to care for you.” Tomo pulled away and shook her head.
“Aika has to take care of me.” Aika shook her head as she knew that she couldn't take care of a little girl.
“You have to!” Aika hugged the little girl.
“Tomochan, I care for you but I don't have the resources to keep you here, but when I do, I will guarantee you that you can be safe with me.” Tomochan smiled as Aika wiped away her tears.
“Now, let's go take that bath.” Aika took her into the bathroom to get the water ready for their bath.
-
So we learn a bit more form Reina's past (and a little about Miya too in th process) It's intresting that even though Reina is this Robin hood style of person, she is far from a tottaly good person herself, we also find out about Eri, one of Reina's old friends, If she was the one that died I just wonder what Eri and Reina's relationship truly was!
So Tomo's mum died! Poor Aika does really want to take care of Tomo now that her mother has gone but knows that she cant, But Reina does know of this girls plight, perhaps she can help them?
-
@Oddy Aika knows a lot about Tomo and she will go deeper into their relationship
Chapter 5
Aika took off the girl's clothes and wrapped her in a small towel, Tomo went forward as Aika hid behind the curtain. Aika was ashamed to have another person see her body even though she was much younger than she was but to explain to her about a woman's body made her very uncomfortable. She wrapped herself with the towel and walked into the steamy bathroom with Tomo sitting on the stool.
“Ah, Aika-chan, thank you for being a good person.” She smiled and stripped the towel off her body.
Aika started to breathe hard with looking at the young girl's body and lathered up her pad to scrub her back as Tomo took her front. Slowly, she moved the pad around her back with Tomo's whistling aiding her nerves. The older girl saw the scars on her back with many of them still fresh, she looked down as she figured it was the mother's doing. Aika eventually got her back layered with soap and Tomo grabbed the bucket filled with warm water and threw it on top of herself.
“Mommy, always let me clean myself up but thank you for cleaning my back.” Tomo smiled at Aika.
Aika closed her eyes as they switched places and unwrapped the towel around her with Tomo getting the pad ready for her. Aika leaned forward to give Tomo an easier time to scrub her back, Tomo started up her whistle as Aika let her start scrubbing.
“Aika-chan, you have nice skin.” Tomo praised.
“Thank you.” Aika said in a low voice.
Tomo carefully scrubbed each area with her small hands and Tomo glancing over to look at Aika as she kept covered up. Tomo sighed after every chance and Aika finally caught her with her eyes looking at her, Aika smiled and told her to stand back as she threw the bucket of water onto her body. Tomo walked over to the side as Aika stood up and Tomo could see her front.
“Tomo-chan, are you being a pervert?” Aika laughed.
“No.... just curious, since my mother is gone no one will tell me how I will look like when I am older... so I wanted to know since I am alone now.” Tomo walked away with her head down.
“Tomo-chan... you are too young to know, later on you'll see yourself become beautiful and all the boys chase after you. At least you can have a talk with me then.” Aika wrapped herself back in a towel and jumped into the furo.
Tomo followed her in as Aika wrapped her arms around her body and let Tomo lean back toward her body. Tomo looked up into Aika's eyes and presented her usual smile with the night slowly going by without a sound. Aika closed her eyes and let Tomo rest on her with the water to warm them up. Before they knew it, there skins pruned and instantly got out to change into their night clothes, however, Aika never had anything small enough for her to wear, she had to lend her an old t-shirt to wear and let her sleep in that for the night.
“Aika-chan, good night.” Tomo kissed her on the forehead before she closed her eyes, Aika moved the hair from her head and gave her a good night kiss before Aika went to sleep.
The next morning, Aika and Tomo woke up seeing the police downstairs searching the apartment, Aika walked down to see inside the apartment but was blocked out because of the investigation. However, after a quick sweep they found nothing and let Aika take Tomo's clothes from the closet and drawers. Aika carried it back up to her room and laid it on her couch as Tomo looked through the clothing and quickly changed out of the old t-shirt and into her regular sized clothes.
“Aika-chan, can we go get some breakfast?” Tomo asked as she took out her bag of money and revealing the hundreds in it.
“Tomo-chan! Why do you have this money?”
“Momma always left me an allowance for being a good girl and she always told me that if I was obedient, I would receive money from her.” Aika grabbed a few bills and slipped it into her pocket before leaving the apartment.
---
Reina woke up with the thought of the girl and just looking into her eyes, she felt a knife sliced through her heart. She had a thought of who might have done it but she had her doubts as the person would never kill another for no reason. She suddenly remembered about Kamei's uncle being a toxicologist and a close friend to the coroner who would be looking over the body. She grabbed her jacket and ran out to seek out Kamei's uncle to find the truth.
She went down the elevator and right out onto the street, she looked over tot he right to see a young woman and a little girl in her hand, and walked towards them. She noticed the girl being shown in the news as the daughter of the deceased mother. Reina paced right behind them and finally caught up to them as they both turned to Reina.
“Sorry, is this the girl whose mother passed away yesterday.” Aika nodded as they started to walk away faster.
“Wait! Sorry, I am a private investigator for this case as it has been on my slate for a while and I have been looking for a lead in their case.” Aika took Tomo to the side.
“What do you mean? Was she part of something?” Aika asked.
“I cannot confide in you about it, but she may have been linked with the gangs and they may have a part with this murder. So, she might know about what her mother is doing and give us clues. Come with me to the office and we can figure that out.” Aika looked at Tomo and agreed to go with Reina.
-
i always worry, what kinda blood bath i would step into when i start a story of yours. but i've evaluated my drama quotient and decided that a little gore will do me some good.
PrivateEye!Reina- reminds me of the time she used to wear that raincoat and hat and irritate the hell out of suspects.
-
Hmm the relationship between Aika and Tomo is definatly intresting, Im some cases Aika is very awkward infront of little Tomo who she knows full well is not her daughter or even related to her but in other cases Aika can be very caring towards Tomo, you could almost say motherly......
So Reina has found Aika and Tomo, I wonder what her plans are involving these two?
-
@gracula yeah I love the bloodshed stuff and pretty much would run with it until I decide to stop but this one won't have the major bloodshed as the ones before
@oddy Aika in this fic has a pretty bad past and the reason why she is living alone so it is a story where she wants to prove that she can be a mature, independent person but also that it wasn't without fault that she is in this position
Chapter 6
Reina led the two to Kamei uncle's laboratory and left them in the waiting room as Reina entered into the lab with all the men working on the vials that Kamei was working on before she passed away. The men looked at her and an elderly man turned toward her.
“Ah, Tanaka-san, long time no see.”
“Yes, long time no see, I am here for the recent murder.” The men turned back toward their computers.
“The mother who got stabbed... I talked to the coroner and it seemed that it was self-inflicted but it also showed shallow cuts like she was fighting something.”
“Fighting something?”
“I am theorizing that something must have happened but it seems farfetched to all the traditional doctors. It could be something Kamei made before her death.”
Reina nodded as she looked back at Aika and the child and something felt stuck in her body as she finally felt the remorse but she had a feeling who may have done it. The only reason was to flush her out of her hiding place. She looked back at Kamei's uncle and he looked at the piece of paper in his hand.
“Reina, you are truly a changed person, I want you to become the person Eri wanted you to be, I know your past hasn't been clean and where you came from, Sayu might be waiting for you, so be prepared for her wrath.” He gave the address to Reina
“Anyways, Sayu has been working on the vial Eri gave her and she has been sending me feedback but lately it has slowed down. Can you check up on her? I know it might lead you into a trap set up by her but just say it is for Kamei.” Reina nodded as she took the opportunity to look at the body.
“It seems too shallow for anyone to stab a person, how was the weapon positioned?” Reina asked.
“He said the blade was halfway in like it was a weakling against her if it was a person, so it got sent over to us as the police were stumped with the initial investigation.”
“I see, I will keep you updated and I hope we can catch that person soon.” Reina walked out of the laboratory and saw Aika and Tomo still entertained in their game.
“Aika, let's take Tomo out to breakfast, my treat.” Tomo ran up to Reina and hugged her leg as Aika nodded.
The three walked out of the office onto the streets with the gangs lurking around each corner, they found the backstreets to the nearest cafe. They entered with the owner snoozing and found a table away from the window. Reina walked over to the owner and woke him up with the bell on his table.
“Ah, sorry I will get your food.” He went back to the kitchen to get their food ready.
“Aika, do you live with Tomo?” Reina asked.
“Actually, I am waiting for her relatives to pick her up.” Tomo looked at Reina.
“I want Aika to take care of me...” Reina laughed.
“Tomochan, Aika is too young to take care of you.”
“But she is willing to take baths with me and she has been warm to me ever since she moved in.” Reina raised her eyebrows.
“So, Tomochan has been close with Aika and you wouldn't mind having a mother like Aika?”
“Yup.” Aika looked down at the table.
“Aika... Tomochan likes you, why not keep her?”
“I just don't want her to become like me, dropout, left for dead, and jobless.” Reina stroked her chin.
“The thing that is most important is that Tomo believes in you and if I had a person who could believe me now, I would also be in better shape but she doesn't see you as you see yourself, she has faith in what you do.” The owner presented them with pickled radishes as their first dish with a pot of cooked rice and three bowls.
“But...”
“No, you have to let her stay with you, even if I have to help you, she knows you enough that she trusts you and if you care for her, you would do anything to keep her healthy even if you are truly suffering, please do it for her.” Reina scooped out the first bowl to Tomo and she carefully picked at the pickled radish.
“Okay, Tomochan, you can stay with me for as long as you like.” Tomo gave her a hug as Aika chopped the pieces even smaller for her to eat.
Reina grew teary eyed as she saw the relationship between Aika and Tomo and felt the emptiness she had from losing not only one but two friends because of her greediness. It hurt when she first done it but she knew what she had to do but to reason that the money and items she had were stolen was going to be a difficult task. She slowly chewed onto the pickled radish until the stewed chicken for their meal. Reina finally felt something warm go into her stomach and into her soul.
-
So, Tomo's mother's death was mad too look like it was self inflicted but it actually wasn't? :O
A little more info on Reina/Eri and Sayu here, what was it that Reina did that was so bad, and how did it end up costing Eri her life, it seems as though Sayu will never forgive her for it and is out for revenge........
So Aika is afraid to take care of Tomo because of what Aika herelf became and she dosn't want Tomo to be like her, perhapas she also has fears about not being up to thr task, perhaps scens like when she helped was Tomo in the last chapter make Aika feel that she is not very motherly?
-
Wow!!!! Why I miss this fic though!?
Aika!!!
Nothing to say...just keep it on b(>w<
-
i kinda hafta say criminal investigator Reina is really getting to me. :thumbsup just the right amounts of concern, angst and self-absorption i like to see in my superpower burdened anti-heroes.
-
@Oddy: The issue of how Eri lost her life will be revealed with Reina meeting Sayu, as for Aika, she is maturing but has no resources to look back on, so what she thinks is right may not be the right thing, but she knows that if Tomo trusts her, might as well be a guardian
@Shiwase_Honoo: Better time than not, I usually would update a lot more, but been busy with other projects and life, so thnx for popping in
@gracula: Reina's true occupation will be exposed when Sayu comes into the picture, so the pieces shall be falling into place soon snough
Chapter 7
The trio finished up the breakfast while they each got to know each other more in the comfy stall. The owner entertained Tomo with his funny faces and leaving Aika and Reina by themsleves.
“Aika, we need to stick together for now.” Aika nodded.
“So, Reina where are we going?”
“I need to visit a friend, she may have better answers, and she maybe calm on the outside but she will show her fangs.”
“What do you mean?” Aika tilted her head to her side.
“She and I have known each other a while back and because of my stupidity, I found that I had lost more than what I bargained for.”
“You have to be straight up with me, if you did her wrong, just apologize.” Reina grabbed the younger girl out of the stall and closed the sliding door.
“Listen, I convinced her that the assets we shared were not worth a lot and she gave it to me to keep, while she took her information of the assets with her. I realized that it had accumulated value since my friend's death and I never had the time to pay her share since she passed away.” Aika began to think about how to approach the situation. She never knew the value of money as her parents were controlling and when she decided to break away she learned about every penny earned as she struggled through paying the rent.
“Okay, would you have the money to pay her side of the deal?”
“Yes, but not on me, I actually want her to come into my apartment to get it but I haven't called her because she has been busy.” Aika nodded.
“So, are we planning for her to come back to get it or just getting the information?”
“The latter because she wouldn't mind about the first at the moment.”
“Okay, lead us Tanaka-san.” Aika opened the door seeing Tomo in front of them.
“You two seem to talk a lot lately, is it about me?” Aika squatted and squeezed her cheeks.
“No, it is about Reina's friend who she made mad and she wants to say sorry to her.”
“Okay, Reina and Aika, let's go!” The trio walked out of the restaurant and carefully looked out for the gangs as they head over to the train station with the lone person watching the tracks.
“Excuse me, sir.” Reina called out as he turned to give a smile.
“When does the next train come?”
“In about ten minutes, since it should be a fast drop off, you should wait right out here, and since you guys are the only people here, would you guys mind telling me why you guys are taking this train?” The conductor looked over at them.
“My friend lives along this line, since it has been quiet for a while, and it is faster and easier than the shinkansen.” Reina explained.
“I see, well enjoy your trip.” The train pulled up to the station as it puffed out black smoke from its top.
The three of them jumped into the passenger cart and sat while they stacked up the logs to run the train. Aika kept Tomo busy with the scenery outside and Reina gazed as she had to face the one who blocked her from Eri. Reina kept the real truth about the vial she drank and the assets being liquidated as soon as she owned it outright. Sayu had no clue that mostly everything that kept Eri going in research went to Reina, until a few months later where the family had to refuse supporting her research to continue the experiment.
Sayu never felt embarrassed in her whole life as she was in front of the family, she hunted down Reina, and she gave Reina a beating. Reina looked up seeing the angry woman as the rage consumed her body and lashed out on Reina. Sayu knew in her heart that Eri wanted Reina to be the benefactor as Sayu was her girlfriend, but the money that she had collected to continue the research, was suppose to be hers but it had gone out of her pocket as fast as it went in.
From that day, Reina wanted to offer the money back to Sayu with interest but she had to set every thing straight among them to resolve their past issues. With the train moving, Reina began to think of what to say to her, and luckily it was a long ride.
-
Hmm, so part of the reason why Reina is doing what she is doing is because she wants to repent with Sayu, I wonder if Sayu knew how Reina got the money if she would accept it, I wonder if it's really about the money at all, Is it more about Eri and her not giving Sayu the reserch....
-
@oddy: You are exactly correct, and this will show that they are closer than they think they are
Chapter 8
Aika got Tomo exhausted halfway through the trip and left her in the stall as she checked on Reina with her head leaning on the glass. Aika tapped her on the shoulder, taking the other side of the stall, giving her a smile.
“Tomo-chan is so cute.”
“Yes, she is, I wish she can grow up to be beautiful.”
“I think she takes on a good role model.”
“Who?” Reina shook her head.
“You silly, you make a good role model.” Aika pointed at herself and shook her head.
“I feel so honored, but I failed at my own life.”
“What do you mean?”
Aika explained her past of being good student gone bad, it started with her first year of high school that she fell in love with a girl who was in a gang. She blindly followed her every place she went and not knowing what she had gotten into. By the end of the first year, she had to get bailed out fifteen times, by the second year, she had been sent into juvenile detention camp and finally she was on her own. During that whirlwind trip, she had kept her studies in check but lacked the attendance to graduate. So, she had found herself in a run-down apartment with cheap rent. In the end, she was getting stipends for her work in the community but barely enough to survive.
“Aika... why would you fall in love with a woman who ruined your life?”
“Because... I never expected that she cared for me and when she finally fell from her post, I knew what I had done wrong, and I met Tomo-chan.” Reina started to tear up as she looked over at the little girl.
“So, Tomo has been your model...” Aika nodded.
“I never wanted to be here, I was smart enough to get into any school I want but I wanted to be with someone, not like any ordinary person but a person who became the other part of my life, the things I couldn't fill, she fed me, let me stay with her, even...” Reina tilted her head.
“No... she took your thing?” Aika nodded.
“Yes, it was the last time I had seen her before she got arrested and put into jail, she knew she was running out of time, and I let her have my body. I felt happy but it made me feel empty inside knowing I would probably never see her again.”
“You gave up your own virginity to a woman you would never see again because you truly had those feelings for her?” Aika nodded.
“That is a big sacrifice, I never felt that close to anyone, many think that I am a lone wolf that is only there to satisfy my own needs. Reason why I developed myself to be this way and I had cared once before but I never truly understood why.”
“Reina... thank you for being a good friend and helping Tomo with her mother's murder, many would leave us in the cold but you took us in.” Aika bowed in front of Reina as the tears fell to the ground.
“I have to tell you something...”
“What is it?”
“When we visit Sayu... there is something that will come out and reveal my true identity... however I for one will want you to hear the whole story before you make your decision. Sayu and the niece of who we visited in the laboratory used to be friends.” Aika looked over at Tomo who started to wake up.
“Okay, I believe you in being honest, so I will wait on my judgment, however if it means to solve the murder, I have to stay because I want to make sure I know who did this, so Tomo can understand when she is ready to hear it.” Reina nodded towards Aika as she went back to Tomo.
“Aika-chan, do you have something to eat?” She shook her head as Tomo rested her head on the woman's lap.
Reina knew how Aika felt except she was Aika's lover's type, the thief, however she did it for herself and nobody else. When she befriended Sayu and Eri, she changed into a responsible person, worked at a convenience store, and made her money as Sayu and Eri worked on their experiments. Eventually, Reina looked in their textbooks to understand the material. However, the chemistry of Sayu and Eri was perfect, leaving Reina in the cold. She became lonely and had thought about botching the experiment but never had the nerve to harm Eri.
Until the one night after her shift was over, she had received a phone call hours earlier about Eri suffering from chemical inhalation. Reina ran over to the hospital seeing Sayu outside crying in her lab coat. She turned to see Eri coughing out blood as she managed to struggle in her breathing, Reina sat by Sayu but she went away from her as she sat there alone until the sun rise.
“Reina... come in...” Eri said weakly.
“Eri, what happened?”
“The chemicals got mixed up and caused a toxic smoke cloud, I told Sayu that something went wrong but the cloud consumed the room quickly and Sayu dragged me out.” Eri explained.
“Why? Why would someone do this?” Reina thought to herself.
“Don't worry, I'll be fine.” Reina looked at her watch and went back home as Sayu came back with flowers. With one glimpse, Sayu turned away from her and walked in as Reina took the train back for sleep.
Reina knew that many were envious of their achievement but Reina had an alibi because that night that she was working, a man came in to rob the place. She had fought him off with the broom as he shot toward the ceiling and ran away. All she wanted to do was to make Eri proud that she could become that person Eri wanted her to be, but that night set off her bad luck and the past came back to haunt her forever.

Oh.......
Well...nothing to say (because just one line that made me to be a Bear-shaped ice cube :bleed eyes:)
But it quite interesting so please keep it on! :yossi:
-
i can't wait for reina and sayu to meet already. having a tough time wondering how sayu beat reina up. :nervous
-
@Shiawase: I was very concerned about the last chapter because of that issue and it had to represent a broken Aika who was trying to put herself back together
@gracula: This chapter will have a little but no violence XD
Chapter 9
The train stopped at the station and the three got off seeing that it was evening they went searching for a place to stay overnight. The city was eerily quiet while the three walked through the streets until a vacancy sign was flashing on the hotel's billboard. They walked in seeing an elderly woman in front with a smile. Tomo yawned as she looked at the young girl.
“You guys seem from out of town, however, we have a lot of vacancies so I'll give you guys a discount, and I have dinner ready for you guys.” Reina and Aika looked at each other as they thought it was a dream and kept Tomo awake for dinner.
They entered into the main dining room as they saw the fried fish in front of them with the bowl of cooked rice. The woman sat with Tomo as Reina and Aika sat across from them, she looked at the two and tried to figure why they have a girl with them. Aika looked away as Reina stared her down and the woman cracked.
“You seem to be young and too fit for childbearing, so why is she with you?”
“Her mother died.”
“Oh dear... I am so sorry to hear about it, I never expect young people to care for her, but I guess that is needed for her, anyways you go eat, I gotta tend to another matter.” She stood up and yelled at the waitress as she came out and faced the two older women.
“REINA!”
“SAYU!”
Sayu placed the plate down and walked away from the table as Aika and Tomo looked at Reina. The woman yelled back at Sayu as she kneel in front of them and looked away from Reina as she admired the child. Aika bowed toward her as Sayu returned the bow and bowed toward Reina as she returned the bow.
“Why are you here?”
“I came to see you.”
“To steal again, like you always do.”
“Wait a minute, I changed from her death, I knew I was greedy and took the money and vial for your research but Eri wanted me to have money because she felt sorry.”
“Eri should have never felt sorry for you, you are a low-life scum, we only befriended you, because you were part of a gang and we needed protection.” Aika looked at Reina and shook her head.
“You are still a bitch, Eri knew why she never wanted to be with me, she was always yours, so stop bringing it up.” Reina stood up and stared at Sayu.
“Because she knew who was better in her future and didn't need a person who only stole for a living.” Sayu's sharp tongue caught Reina as Aika grabbed Tomo and walked out of the room.
Reina closed her fist and let her tears fall to the ground, Sayu walked away as Reina pounded the tatami mats as hard as she could. She instantly got up and ran to Aika as they were outside the room, the awkward moment didn't help the tension growing between them.
“So, you were a thief?”
“Yes, but let me explain.”
“Why did you lie to us? You were going to use us to get what we had and now at least we know right?” Tomo ran over to Reina.
“Reina is not bad...” Tomo said.
“She is.”
“SHE IS NOT BAD!” Tomo yelled at Aika.
Aika stood there giving a chance for Reina to explain and brought up the conversation on the train to hold judgment. Aika let Reina open the door with all three sitting, Reina started her side of the story.
“Yes, it was all true, Sayu was right about everything that she said and I will not regret doing that before, however, Sayu knows about mind control, Eri and her were the lead experimenters for the project. Something that Eri's uncle had brought up gave us the opportunity to seek Sayu's knowledge and we needed to mend our relationship eventually.” Someone opened the door and Sayu bowed deeply.
“I am sorry for my language.”
“No problem, I knew you still would be angry.”
“So, Eri's uncle sent you here, unfortunately I had to give up on the research.” Reina took a deep breath.
“I wanted to give you the money one day but why did you give up?”
“When Eri passed away, my heart was not into the research, so I left it on the shelves for others to take it on, but weeks later, someone broke in and took my papers.” Reina's eyes widened as she never knew about the incident.
“The problem was I knew it wasn't you and I couldn't put my finger on anyone so I managed to get the vial for the power and it was a duo that were preying on us before the accident.”
“Sayu, someone has the recipe to make the secret power?” Sayu nodded.
Reina sat back and calmly breathe in and out as the news was worst than expected, Sayu had lost the research and it all came back to Eri's death. Reina looked at her and took out a wad of cash and placed it in front of her.
“I am sorry to hear about this but I have become different since then because...” Sayu looked at Aika.
“You have really seen someone who you cared for... it is that woman right?” Sayu pointed at Aika.
“Yeah.” Reina said silently.
Sayu clamped her hands together and begged for forgiveness, Reina bowed to her as she took away her drive to understand the power she had been working on with Eri. Aika saw Tomo to her side sleeping and carried her to the futon set out for them. As Aika laid her down, Reina bowed to her for giving a false identity. Aika started to cry as she hugged Reina, Reina carefully wrapped her arms around her as Sayu hugged them two.
After an hour of making up, Aika slept next to Tomo as the two older women started to chat.
“Sayu, what can we do?”
“I know the person who did this to us but I cannot catch him myself without proof.”
“Well, that is understandable, so let me catch him.” Reina insisted.
“Is it possible? Unless you have the time stopping vial.”
“Bingo!” Sayu hugged Reina.
“Okay, I need to ask for a day off and we can discuss this tomorrow, have a good night.” Reina replied back as she slipped into her bed. Aika turned over and placed her hand on top of her body as she closed her eyes.
“Aika-chan, will you accept me? Will you ever trust me? Because I want you too.” Reina closed her eyes for the night.
-
Seems as though Sayu and Reina have made up, good, good. But someone has stolen the reserch! who could this be.... Seems as though Aika may have dubts about Reina now. Tomo is convinced that Reina is a good person but Aika feels hurt becaus of Reina's lies, is she afraid of being used again?
“Aika-chan, will you accept me? Will you ever trust me? Because I want you too.” Reina closed her eyes for the night.
Hmm, looks like Reina is getting more attached to Aika dosn't it....
-
@oddy: Aika is still up for the bigger surprise and Sayu and Reina still need to get the deeper thing out of the way, reason for this chapter
Chapter 10
Reina waked up to Aika's face inches in front of her, she moved back and rolled into the shelf, as the two were laughing in amusement. Reina got out of her bed and walked over to the bathroom with her eyes still not fully open and slipped onto the floor. Aika grabbed the older woman up as the owner and Sayu rushed in to see the commotion.
“Reina, are you alright?” Reina rubbed her forehead.
“I should be fine, although I have a headache now.” Aika instructed Reina to sit on the western toilet and Reina's natural reaction let her lower her bottoms in front of Aika and she backed into the shower.
Reina looked over seeing Aika scrunched in the tub and started to laugh as she rubbed her forehead. Aika lifted herself out and saw Reina finish her business before pulling up her bottom.
“Never seen a girl use the bathroom in front of you?” Reina asked.
“I have but... you know...” Aika blushed.
“Dang, you live such a sheltered life... actually why do you feel embarrassed? Something that your friend did, right?” Aika nodded.
“It was nothing.... we agreed that we never talk about our experience in public.”
“I see.... well I think I'll be fine for now, let's go back home.” Reina smiled as she looked at the young girl play with the owner while Sayu stood waiting for Reina.
The owner left out breakfast for the four to eat before going back into the city, Reina warned Sayu about the dangers of the gangs and other evil people around. Sayu had a look of concern but just let it go over as it wouldn't be too bad for her. Aika and Tomo were in discussion with the owner about their night's rest as the older women were discussing the city.
After breakfast, the four went out on their way out as they waved goodbye to the inn owner and walked to the other side of the train tracks for their return train. The four sat along the tracks as they waited for the train, Sayu brought out her mirror to admire herself.
“Still, you never do change...” Reina joked.
“Beauty before everything.” Sayu smiled as she kept whispering kawaii to herself.
“Aika-chan, why is she talking to the mirror?” Tomo asked.
“I don't know, maybe she thinks herself as beautiful.” Sayu looked over at the two.
“I am beautiful, no one can deny it.”
“I can” Reina said in a low voice.
“And those who deny are probably ugly.” Reina facepalmed.
“Again, ever since knowing you, you always had a pocket mirror and whispering it to yourself. Eri liked it because she thought it was cute but as for me....”
“You left it up to the friends you hang around with and because you had the whip in hand, they had to admit to you that you were the best.” Sayu interrupted.
“No, I never had a whip to bully people around, I usually gain my respect by doing what I need to do, so no one told me I was attractive.” Reina admitted.
“Reina-chan is beautiful!” Tomo yelled.
“Thanks.”
They looked back to see the train coming their way and stood up to wait for the train to stop at the station. Aika made sure Tomo had everything all in hand before they boarded the train as she nodded to every command given to her. Sayu and Reina still in their mini fight just looked straight at the town to see the train stop in front of them.
“Hello again.” The person who greeted the three at the city station was on the train inviting passengers on board.
They entered into a semi-filled train as they got on the morning train rush where the workers had to get into the city. They got onto the second to the last car and sat there in peace while Aika tried to start entertaining Tomo as Reina and Sayu sat in back of them.
“Reina... I am sorry for last night.”
“Sayu, don't worry, I was expecting that, everything was my fault.” Reina cracked a smile.
“No, I have to say something.” Sayu paused as she took a deep breath.
“Eri wanted you to have the money because she knew that we had to get along one day, I wanted to continue on the research but when I heard she gave it away, I was angry.” Sayu explained.
“Eri said that she wanted me to live a good life but I failed at that.”
“You spent our money?” Sayu felt the rage coming within her.
“No, I kept that money because I knew how much the research meant to you and her, so I put some on the side but I had to continue my ways until I found out why I had been doing this, because I felt jealous of you and her.” Sayu looked out the window.
“I never knew that, I always thought that you were there to split us up, but Eri was kindhearted to give you the money except for me, to be honest, I thought you were going to do some bad things with the money, but why not give it back to me?”
“The thing was Eri told me about the people who were after the research and she told me to keep you motivated but after the funeral and the people cursing me for killing her, I couldn't face you because you were the worst of it.” Sayu nodded.
“That was how I felt because I heard about the money going to you and before I could get a true answer she passed away from her injuries. I thought it was Eri trying to give you pity but it was just to make sure that if I do needed help, I still had a friend in this world...” Sayu pounded the table as she let go of her anger.
“How... can I … be so stupid.” She yelled out.
“Sayu, I always still liked you as a friend because I knew you would take me in one day despite all the crap you did to me. So, can we close this book?” Reina asked with her arms opened.
“YES! I truly understood why Eri did that and I should have felt that you were always going to be there as a friend, Eri, I am sorry, Reina is a good person, I never should have put everything on my back, I had one person always there, thank you.” Both hugged as they got their issues resolved.
-
Well, at least it seems Reina has one fan in Tomo!
Seems as though Reina and Sayu got over the rest of thier problems that they had with each other, seems as though Eri kknew what she was doing, even if neither Sayu or Reina understood that themselves.
-
@oddy pretty much the case
Chapter 11
Before they knew it the train arrived at the station and got off to find the people populating the streets on their way to work. Reina led them to the park as they found themselves huddling by the swings, Sayu and Aika watched Tomo as she swung on the swings. Reina looked around before giving them the plan.
“Okay, Aika you need to go home and watch over Tomo-chan for the time being, Sayu and I will have to discuss about the experiment.”
“Why is it so secretive? How are we suppose to protect ourselves?” Aika asked.
“Aika, you have to trust me, there are some things that has to be set up for us to get the experiment back. Sayu knows how it works and if there is something, just call, although I cannot guarantee anything at the moment.” Aika nodded slowly as she grabbed Tomo by the hand.
“I will protect Tomo, but I just need you to protect me.” Sayu looked at Reina with concern.
“Reina, this is your opportunity, Aika is putting her trust in your hands, just take the opportunity.” Sayu cheered her on.
“Okay sure, just give me a call if anything, and I will be there.” Aika smiled and went back to the apartment as Sayu and Reina traveled back to Reina's apartment.
Sayu saw all the gangs hanging around the area and felt a chill down her spine as Reina moved forward, Sayu felt someone grab her arm and saw the guy's face in front of her. Reina gave the guy a look and he let go of her as they entered into the building. They waited for the elevator to get to the lobby and the landlord came out of her room.
“Tanaka-san, how have you been?”
“I have been good, sorry for not checking in the last few days, I had to go on a trip.” The landlord smiled.
“No problem, my dear, rent is due, so pay when you can.” The elevator door opened as the two entered to get to her floor.
“You must be rolling in money if you are making everyone happy.”
“Money is not everything, although having a neighbor who is noisy is not my cup of tea, and they are money hungry, everyone is here. So, I need to protect you before Aika, reason why I am hesitant to say yes, even though...”
“You like her?”
Reina froze as she felt something jolt in her body, it was something that she wanted to do, she opened her heart, and someone took it in. However, what was seen at the surface was not really her, it was what she hid behind that made her fall for her. Before Reina could say her reasons, the door opened to the floor Reina lived on and saw Miya hanging outside her door.
“Hmm, bringing girls around... are you finally interested?” Miya laughed.
“Not yet, how about you? Your girlfriend found out about your secret?” Miya stopped and her face turned red.
“I thought so, just bugger off and keep your voice down because I know your girlfriend is not a screamer.” Reina opened the door and both entered into a plain room with a couch.
“You gotta be kidding me... frugal and yet you still have money to spend.”
“I needed it for the day I would have to meet up with you or if you ever come to my funeral demanding money.” Reina opened her closet to the hole in the wall.
“Before I take you here, I gotta show you my secret, because even if you do know, you are on my side.” Reina showed her a hoodie.
“Okay, you like hoodies... what's wrong with that?”
“Aika is in love with the person under the hoodie, I saw it in her eyes, I couldn't tell her I was the woman underneath the hoodie. I had to lie to get her to believe me and just to say I was a thief before would be hard for anyone to admit but... I feel so bad for her.”
“Reina...” She threw the hoodie down and put her face into her hands.
“Sayu, I cannot say it, if I do, she will never believe me.” Sayu slapped her across the face.
“STOP! I cannot see you like this, I know you were strong in school, you protected us against every girl who hated us for being together and you took the abuse too. You like Aika right?” Reina nodded.
“She should see you the same way, with or without the hoodie, just say you will protect her as long as you have these feelings for her, because you don't have to protect me.”
“Why?”
“Because I lost one because I loved her, I will not lose one because she couldn't step up to protect the woman she loves.” Reina nodded and took her down into the tunnel she dug out and saw the newspaper articles, Sayu saw the vial and noticed the color.
“How did you change its composition?”
“Blood, the blood made the chemical stronger and runs through the body smoother, I only took one shot and it has lasted me for years without any hitch.” Sayu nodded.
“I see, just get me some drinks and I'll be down here helping you protect Aika.” Reina ran up and took the money for the landlord as she ventured out. Before leaving she managed to get her hoodie and put it on.
“This is my power, I must protect it.”
-
Ahh, poor Reina, conflicted between her feelings for Aika and protecting her secret identity from her, Seems as though perhaps Sayu sees that Reina, whatever she may think, loves Aika and that Aika loves Reina, enough to come through this, together
-
oh, i love the antihero types. it's like the perfect breeding ground for emo angst.
-
@oddy Reina will give it her all
@gracula exactly
Chapter 12
Reina walked outside to see the gangs surrounding the businessman, she hid behind the wall as he tried to move out of the circle but watching fifty people around him, he charges toward the hole and got knocked to the ground.
“Give me your money.” The businessman stuck his hand in his pocket.
Reina snapped her fingers and grabbed the gang member away from the man and took him to safety. In the corner of her eye, she saw a figure moving, and dropped the man off. She snapped her fingers again to bring it back to real time. Reina ran toward the building to see no one around and then her phone rang.
“Reina, I noticed time stopped, did you do that?” Sayu asked.
“Yes, what happened?”
“I heard footsteps outside just recently when I was frozen.” Reina bit her lip.
“Okay, protect yourself, whoever has the mind control vile must be after you.” Reina hung up and walked over to the empty lot and looked inside the wallet the gang stole. It was empty. Reina looked around and dropped the wallet to look for another person in danger. However, she noticed the gangs were hanging around each other. It would be unusual for them to hang around each other because of territory.
Reina flipped her phone back up and called Sayu as she witnessed all of them talking to each other like drones. However, the group looked at her and chased her into the building as she hid and hearing her breathe hard, Sayu knew what was wrong.
“Reina, get back to the apartment.” Sayu was luckily in the hiding place.
Reina noticed the best way was to leap between the buildings and she ran to get a head start and jumped to the second building with ease, as she landed a woman was standing in front of her with a smirk on her face.
“The famed hoodie woman, I heard the whole story about backstabbing friends to continue your life of crime.” She closed her hand to make a fist.
“What is it to you?”
“Miya has the vile she took from those weak guys.” Reina froze in shock.
She looked at her closely it was Miya's girlfriend, Reina knew that if she was behind this, she couldn't stop her if she made time stop. However, she would still have the sight of her escaping so Reina put up her fists and she threw a needle at her. Reina sidestepped the needle and charged toward her as she delivered her punch. Reina connected with her face and fell backwards to the pavement, she began to notice the wires coming from her.
“Uso!” Reina jumped to the apartment building and managed to get into the roof entrance.
Reina ran down the stair to her floor and noticed Miya coming out of her apartment, she hid behind the corner as Miya walked toward the elevator. She waited for Miya to get into the elevator before attempting her entry into her apartment. A few minutes passed by and Reina jiggled with the lock as she gained entry. Reina laid down on the floor as she tried to gain back her breath from all the running.
“Reina! We have a problem.” Sayu dragged her into the hideout and locked her door.
“I realized who is behind this, Miya had the vile.” Reina sat up and took a deep breath.
“I know, I just took out a bot, why does she have it?” Sayu put her palms up.
“I gotta save Aika...” Reina went into the corridor before Sayu stopped her.
“Be patient, I am working on a chemical to get rid of the power, give it time before chasing after her, we need to stop the power before saving your friend.” Sayu felt Reina's anger and the aura she was releasing.
“Don't stop me, I need to do this, Eri would let me go.” Reina got out of Sayu's grip and exited out of the apartment. Before she could get down to the next floor, she began to realize what Sayu was talking about, as her body started to grow weak. Reina ran up to find Miya in front of her.
“We meet again.” Miya smiled.
-
Saki and Miya are the baddies!!! :shocked Miya has been around Reina all that time and she didn't know
I hope both Aika and Reina get out of this ok!
-
Like, yeah. Can't wait for the villain monologue. :P
Interesting how Sayu could perceive the timestop.
-
@oddy: we'll wait on that
@gracula: ditto on what I said to Oddy
Chapter 13
“Miya.... this is dangerous for you, why do you possess the vile?” Reina put her arms to her side.
“I held this power because I wanted you to notice me and the two guys gave it away because the police were on their trail.” Miya smiled and put up her hands.
Miya soon realized she couldn't control Reina's mind as the power of time had countered it. Miya pushed her power again onto Reina and it failed again. Miya charged toward Reina and Reina extended her leg into her midsection. Miya flew backwards and slammed onto the door, she fell forward in pain as Reina looked over her.
“Unfortunately, they didn't tell you the downside to possessing the power. The problem is you cannot use your power against me and I cannot use my power over you. So, you got tricked into using the vile to take control of your girlfriend and the gangs.” Miya quickly sat up and grabbed her midsection.
“What do you mean? I didn't control the gangs, I only used Saki to flush you out.” Reina bent over and picked her up.
“Miya, you better not be lying to me.” Miya started to tear up as she started to whimper at Reina.
“I wouldn't lie to you, I liked you a lot but never wanted to hurt you.” Reina put her down and left her by her door as she called Sayu.
After a quick conversation, Sayu came out of the apartment and looked at the torn girl. Sayu took out a spray bottle and sprayed Miya. The sweet floral scent complemented the spray and she looked at Miya as Miya tried to use her mind control. However, it went away with the spray and Reina tried her power and froze Sayu and Miya.
“Reina, I am sorry, I thought I could force you to love me, but I didn't know you had a power too.” Miya opened her door.
“Wait, what about Saki? How does she feel?” Sayu asked.
“How do you know Saki?” Miya asked.
“I am psychic however I use emotions to indicate what you are thinking.” Sayu admitted.
“Okay, I love her, I never wanted her to get hurt, however I feel bad that I used her to get Reina to love me. She doesn't know I used my power to control her and force her to do my work willingly. So, thank you for getting rid of the ability.” Miya bowed and Reina stopped her from closing the door.
“Call her and tell her what you said to me.” Miya took out her phone and turned away from them.
Miya repeated her words and Saki came out from the elevator with tears in her eyes, she looked at Reina with an angry face before hugging Miya. Miya caressed her head as she held her in her arms and Reina turned Saki around before giving a bow for forgiveness.
“Why did you hurt her for? Why couldn't you let her enter your heart?” Saki closed her fist.
“Because Miya is too important to hurt, I have seen her grown up admiring me from afar, every day soaked after a rain, exhausted from the hot weather, and heart broken after a person rejected her. I never want to be the last dagger, I rather let her enjoy her life with someone important than me.” Reina looked down.
“I see, you like Miya as a sister.” Saki realized how Miya always talked about Reina as being intimate but in the end, unrequited love had consumed Miya.
“Okay, you two have to help us out, find Aika, you gotta get her back here.” The duo nodded and walked off to the elevator.
Reina and Sayu entered into the apartment and saw the gang members walking as a group down the street. Sayu looked outside noticing a guy walking behind them, she grabbed a pair of binoculars and she pointed out who he was, the guy who she gave the experiment to. Reina sat back on the couch waiting for the pair to return. So, she closed her eyes and just let everything go for that one moment.
-
Thus are the dangers of one sided love, Poor Miya had liked Reina for so long and only wanted to get her to love her but she went terribly astray but fortunatly Reina managed to straiten things out with her in the end!
-
@oddy: yeah, I wanted to twist something but couldn't get it in, maybe later on
Chapter 14
“Reina~ Do you have orange juice?~” Sayu asked as Reina slowly opened her eyelids.
“No....” Reina gave out a yawn and saw the gang members still walking around the street.
“Can you get some?~” Reina slanted her eyes in displeasure and walked into the bathroom to change her clothes.
Sayu noticed that Reina had very little food in the refrigerator and with the gangs in a bigger group, Reina would not survive against the crowd. She went back into the tunnel and quickly found a weapon, a brass knuckle covered in jewels. Reina walked out in a t-shirt and jean shorts and the brass knuckle appeared in front of her.
“SAYU!” She came running up with a smirk on her face.
“A brass knuckle? What do you expect me to do with a brass knuckle?” Sayu put it on with Reina facepalming herself.
“I cannot take out a bunch of gang members with just this.” Sayu smiled and tossed the brass knuckle to Reina.
“Just use it, trust me, it will work.” Sayu winked as Reina walked out the door into the hallway.
Reina took the elevator down to the lobby and walking out the front door she noticed the gangs around the restaurant. She quickly ran to the convenience store seeing the two cashiers poking at each other playfully. Reina walked over to the candy section and looked over at the duo and give them a smile. She grabbed the 2 1-gallon bottles and plopped it on the counter catching both of their attention.
“Hello, ma'am.” They both said in unison.
“Hello, I need you to help me.” They looked at each other.
“Are you part of the police?” Reina shook her head.
“Just a concerned citizen.” Reina took the money out of her wallet but they rejected the payment.
“A guy came in about a week ago and bought some liquor, he was boasting about taking control of the gangs. He was saying that the gang members were getting jacked by a hooded figure so he gave them an option to follow him or let them keep getting defeated by the person, so he got his way and now they are terrorizing the stores. Like for us, he told us to keep quiet so don't say anything.” Both whispered to Reina.
“I see, thanks for orange juice.” Reina grabbed the bag and walked out to three members in front of her.
Reina walked around them and started to follow her to the apartment, every step they were taking two steps to catch up to her. Reina felt the urge to go into her pocket and slipped on the brass knuckle to show it to the group.
“What are you going to do with that?” The guy started to laugh with his crooked smile.
“I guess do this.”
She turned to find her fist to the closest guy's face and he flew back with the rest. She looked at the brass knuckles and noticed the jewels which she stole but they were dulled. She ran inside to see that the jewels were taken out and replaced with gems. She rode the elevator up to the apartment and pushed the door open seeing Sayu with the biggest smile on her face.
“I was right~” Sayu took the orange juice and put it into the fridge before going back down into the lair. Reina ran down and showed her the brass knuckles.
“Where are my jewels?” Reina put her hands on her hips.
“They are in the vault, where you left your goods...” Reina's eyes widened.
Reina ran over to the vault and noticed it was open, she ran to to find the jewels in a package by the cash. She came out seeing Sayu with a smile, Reina walked back up to find Miya and Saki with their heads down.
“Where's Aika?” Miya went down to her knees begging.
“She wasn't there, both of them, they left a note on the door.” Saki handed over the note.
Reina scanned through it and tossed it into the wastebasket in anger, Miya and Saki sat on the couch as Reina looked into the tunnel and called Sayu. The four women closed up the curtains and turned on the light to set up the game plan.
“Reina, where's Aika and Tomochan?” Sayu asked.
“The guy took them....” Sayu wrapped her arms around her as Reina held back her tears.
“Let's get them, I need his information.” She opened it up to only the message and flattened out the paper as they began to think how to approach it.
-
 Aika and Tomo have been kidnapped bu the gangs!
still this does mean that awesome rescue mission is now on! 8)
-
@oddy yes unfortunately it isn't far to find them
Chapter 15
Sayu knew a lot about her rival especially Eri tried to bait them a few times into confessing secrets, Sayu knew how to win over the guys because she knew they admired Eri's shaped legs and especially when Eri worn short skirts under her lab coat, they would salivate, and Sayu's wild imagination made it worst for their thoughts.
However, Sayu knew she would be of no help because they despise her attitude and called her demeaning names to ruin her spirit. Reina had to decipher the note and she picked it up to smell it and gave her an idea. The four ran out to the park and saw the gang members watching the children on the swings. Reina had a weird vibe coming and once she looked around, they were surrounded.
“Boss, I think we found her.” One called out to the guy casually coming towards them.
The guy was average height with black hair and a scar by his lip connecting to the corner of the mouth. He gave Sayu a smile first as it irritated her and looked at Reina with his piercing eyes.
“You must be the rival...” Reina crossed her arms before breathing out.
“Yes. Dr. Yamamoto to you because you don't have the formal education.” He lifted his arms up toward Reina and she stood there feeling no effects of his powers.
The doctor tries to push more power and Reina didn't budge at the attempt, Reina delivered a straight kick to his chest and fell into the crowd of gang members. Impressed by the showing, he commanded them to charge and with Reina's power, they were frozen in time. She weaved out of the crowd to find him standing with a smile.
“At least you showed your hand and now suffer the wrath.” He grabbed the bench with his bare hands and threw it at Reina while Sayu and the rest were frozen. Reina ducked as he started to run away and she made the decision to hold out from them as he knocked them to the ground to save the trio.
Reina knew in her gut she needed the three more than catching the doctor, Reina decided to get the hoodies that made her infamous in the city and tossed it to the three, although one couldn't fit her size so Sayu decided to get the biggest size she had which was enough room to maneuver in. In addition, Sayu modified the original spray she had put on Miya and gave them resistance to the powers known to Sayu.
The group noticed the gangs were back to normal and hanging around the street corners, however, there was a low level official walking up to Reina. Reina hid her face away from them to not reveal their identity. The official offered Reina information about the hideout, however Reina knowing the streets had the urge to test him and the official walked them to the backdoor. Reina cocked the gun to his head and he gave out his last prayer.
“Please don't kill me, I showed you the way.” He started to plead and Reina pushed him into the doors he was left to face the challengers. The cronies walked out in a line finding the hooded girl in front of them. With reckless abandon, they charged toward Reina forgetting about the other three and fell into the trap set up by them,
Reina looked over at the guy seeing the wet stain on his pants and smiled as the spot grew bigger with every second. She decided to let him go and entered to find the doctor and Aika with Tomo in the cage. Before Reina could react, more backup warriors came in front of her and started to give her trouble as the weight slowly fall to the cage. Reina knew she couldn't stop the weight and tried to outwit the guys like bulls dodging their attack until they slammed themselves into the cage causing it to shake.
The doctor was no match to control both the weight and the guys fighting them so he tried to control the guys causing the weight to fall fast and Reina made her move by pushing the guy into the cage knocking them off the path of the weight. With them now away from the heavy weight, she could face him one on one.
“Bring.... It.... ON!” Reina yelled.
-
Yeah, go angry Reina, awesome rescume mission has turned into epic final boss battle! :panic: :w00t:

Chapter 16
The doctor smirked at Reina as the weapons that surrounded them was in his favor as the mind control gave him the extra power of telekinesis. However, Reina stood tall as he controlled an ax with his mind and defended herself with a staff. She saw the ax thrown against her but it fell short and Reina charged with the staff, knocking him off his feet.
The doctor grabbed a sword and swung it wild to throw Reina off her concentration but with one strike, she contacted with his head, and fell to the ground. He started to laugh as he was beant over with blood dripping from his forehead. Reina stood in a defensive posture waiting for the next attack.
“Reina... I feel your pain...” He let out another chuckle.
“You don't know what I feel.” Reina responded.
“I do, Eri... You loved Eri.” Reina bit her lip as the thought popped into her head.
“Yes, I loved her but now I fight for another person, and she has shown what it means to be alone and she takes on the world on her own. Eri would be proud for me finding that person” Reina raised the staff and right before she could get the final blow, someone held it back.
“Reina?” The familiar voice struck her.
Aika grabbed the staff out of her hand and looked at the hooded figure from the back, Reina put her hands down and looked at the fallen guy. Before she could turn, a mace flew toward her legs, causing her to fall to the ground, covering her face. Aika stood in front of the hooded figure and somehow felt something grow in her.
Reina saw the yellow glow from her hands and crawled back as Aika flew them at the doctor. He flew back into the spears and piercing him in the back. He arched his back in pain as he never saw the fireballs before and closed his eyes.
Aika turned toward the hooded figure and as she moved closer toward her, Sayu stepped in front of her. Aika tried to go past Sayu but as Sayu touched her, Aika froze and stepped back from the fallen person and Reina escaped without revealing her identity.
Sayu released her grip and Aika still in her curious mode found no one there, she wanted to ask but looking at all the women, she left without getting a definite answer, maybe close enough.
Reina took off her hoodie and tossed it into the dumpster, she ran through the streets with her t-shirt on and forgot the gangs. However, they didn't stop her and they seemed to avoid her, even the usual people avoided from her touching them. She ran inside the apartment and saw her leg bruised from the attack and just held it in her hand as it started to burn.
Thirty minutes later, Sayu arrived with Aika as she saw Reina on the couch with a blanket over her. Reina knew Aika would expose her secret and maybe give it out but somehow she felt safe because of Tomo. Tomo walked over and sat on Reina's legs as she started to wince in pain, Aika pulled her off to scold her.
Aika went closer and pulled the blanket off seeing the red mark on her leg from the weapon, Sayu, Saki, and Miya stood by the doorway as Aika knew who her hero was all that time before. But, she just smiled and sat by Reina rubbing aloe on the bruise.
“Aika, I am sorry for not telling you about me in the first place.” Reina apologized.
“I am not angry you know....” Everyone tilted their head as Tomo smiled in front of Reina.
“Aika had a feeling but I pointed it out when we were taken.” Reina's eyes widened.
“Your shoes.” Tomo pointed out the old shoes on the floor.
Reina took a deep breath as Tomo as small as she was, she was very observant, and caught her red handed. However, Aika using her powers was on Reina's mind and Sayu prepared a blood test to extract blood from her body. Aika spent the rest of the day rubbing aloe as all were ready to rest after the day. Tomo as the lone person in the room went down to observe Sayu and it gave them the perfect opportunity to talk.
“Aika, I was very worried when he took you away, I wanted to hunt them down myself, but thanks to my friends, I had a team behind me.” Aika put the piece down and laid down next to Reina.
“I knew she would come to save me and I am thankful for being brave and held Tomo close to me as we just stayed in the cell. However, when she was sleeping, I felt something burning and my body started to feel power as I notice a fire ball in my hand. I threw one to the other side of the room scaring them. They threw water but it never made my flame disappear and threw another to scare them off, giving us time to escape.” Aika stood up to get orange juice.
“Then, I heard voices and followed them into the room, with one emotion in my mind I threw the fireball and luckily we escaped.” Aika took a sip.
Reina started to close her eyes and within that second she felt a peck on her lips, she opened it up to find Aika smiling in front of her. Reina wrapped her arms around the younger woman and gave her a kiss good night before wandering off.
-
Well you promised more ass kicking and that definatly happened!
Aww and it seems as though perhaps Reina may have found a bit of peice in her life after all, thanks to Aika...
-
@oddy yes needed the action
Chapter 17
Three months passed by with no incident as Reina and Aika lived together with Tomo always by their side. Sayumi, who was a thorn to Reina, decided to live across of the active couple and would immediately become a parasite to the new couple. However, that changed with an explosion in the alleyway.
“Aika, did you hear that?” Reina looked outside at the fire.
Aika looked outside and the fire grew larger until it formed into a woman. Reina instantly saw her eyes glow in the midday light. She looked up and saw the two faces looking at her as she walked by still with her concentration on them. Sayu came rushing in with a stack of papers in her hands and left it on the table for the duo. Reina tilted her head at the results waiting for an explanation as Aika pulled each page from the pile.
“Arghhh, what is the point, bunny?” Reina yelled in frustration.
“That flame you saw had been coming for the past week, I thought it was a meteorite but when it developed a human figure, I needed to find the gender and where it was coming from....”
“So, get to the point.” Reina interrupted.
“The fireball came from a B planet outside of solar system and she has enough power to eliminate the world.” Sayu concluded her report.
“Thanks, Sayu, so what are we going to do?” Aika asked.
Sayu took a seat with the information in the papers as Tomo, who just had woken up from the explosion, walked over to Aika for comfort. Sayu looked over the stack of papers and found a clue to who she might be. It was a chart of her vital signs and Sayu felt the chill run down her spine.
“Sayu what's wrong?” Aika asked.
“She is way too powerful for both of you to take on, we may need a big team to take her down, but how can we get people without being noticed?” Sayu began to venture into her own world as Reina drew her own answer. She got up and walked toward the door but Sayu threw a spoon at her to catch her attention.
“Hey! Well we need people right?” Sayu bit down on her lower lip.
“Yes, but I think there is a way but we need Kamei's uncle to conduct the experiment and we need to monitor them from deviating from our control.” Reina took a moment to understand Sayu's words.
“What is the plan? Do we need to contact Kamei's uncle?” Sayu smiled as there was a knock at the door.
“Hello my new colleagues.” The older man smirked and dragged in a suitcase.
He unzipped the suitcase to reveal a laptop and a small book. He was quick to set up his station and downloaded a list of people eligible for the experiment. As he kept himself busy, the three of them began to plan out their situation. It had been obvious since the doctor three months ago took control of the local gangs in the hunt for Reina, however it was a way for him to retaliate against them. As a precaution, they needed to see him in prison.
Sayu and Reina jumped onto the next bus to the outskirts of Tokyo, where he was being held, and after a quick ride, they arrived by the sea. They walked up to the entrance to find a woman in front of them, guarding the front.
“Sorry, we are officially not allowing visitors at this time.” She said in a stern voice.
“I see, we need to speak to Dr. Yamamoto.” Sayu asked as the guard picked up her walkie talkie.
The guard moved to the side and the doctor appeared from the shadow in front of them. He was in a blue jumpsuit with a cigarette hanging from his mouth and letting out a puff of smoke. Sayu took the lead and turned toward the conference room as he followed them with his guard. He was in shackles and the loud noises irritated Reina as they all entered into the room since the battle.
“I heard about the explosion.” He let out another puff of smoke towards them.
“We know that but we need to ask.” Reina grasped onto her chair as he let out a snicker.
“It wasn't me, but I knew it would happen, reason why I wanted to stall the experiment.” Sayu wrote down the notes from their conversation.
“The powers were an indicator of danger and anyone caught using it gives off a signal to indicate that someone is threatening their livelihood and interest on Earth. However, in a myth I had researched on, a champion shall save the world.” The two women nodded.
“Is that all?” The guy took another puff from his cigarette.
“One more question, the champion is supposedly male right?” The guy nodded.
“The one we got in our readings is female.” The doctor dropped his cigarette to the ground.
He felt the chill in the air and his body stiffened up, he didn't know about the second half of the story as his partner was responsible for it but it was a shock from his own research. The guy wrote down a name and Reina looked at Sayu weirdly. Sayu looked at the name and nodded her head.
“Find him and he'll answer the question.” The guard took him out of the room and left the two ladies in the room pondering over the name.
Reina followed Sayu out and took out her cell phone, she carefully dialed the number and held it close to her. Sayu patiently waited for the other side to pick up but it was sent to voice mail as their next stop would be the university. They ran back to the return train and ventured back to the city as they both were drowsy from the exhausting trip. Luckily it was a short trip that they could visit the guy the doctor mentioned about.
It was close to the 9 P.M. that both got off and ran toward the university with all they had left and saw a tall man locked the gate as Sayu bend over in front of him.
“Sayu-chan, we meet again.” Sayu nodded unexpectedly and fell over in exhaustion.
-
What the? Part 2 :w00t:
wasn't expecting this, seems as though the hunt for this new champion is on!
-
@oddy yups with more twists as usual
Chapter 18
“Who are you?” Reina looked up at him as he rubbed his bare chin.
“Dr. Hiroyama, nice to meet you, little one.” Reina slanted her eyes in disgust.
“Hey... I need your help.” Sayu trying to catch the man's attention.
“Okay, so tell me what is up baby~” Sayu turned away as Reina lifted her fist up to his face.
He stood tall looking over the kitty and pushed her fist down to her waist as he looked over at Sayu and grabbed her hand. Sayu pulled it away quickly as he looked to find a place to meet. He quickly saw the cafe and signaled them over to the place.
As they arrived a girl bowed toward them and took them to the booth. The waitress took their order and walked away giving them time to talk. The doctor took out his laptop and showed a picture of Sayu hiding away from the camera before listening to their request.
“Okay, your partner said you know the second part of the myth.” Reina put her hand on top of the laptop slamming his fingers in them.
“There is a supernatural being that can track the use of powers, Kamei was theorizing if someone was to come, they would track down the person's location.” Reina let his fingers go as he held it close to him.
Sayu looked over at Reina and gave her a nod as he opened up a paper on the idea that he had been working on before Kamei's death. After her death, it was a hard push because he needed information on the powers that were out there. Sayu, who was her partner, had decided on being the glue to the research but Kamei refused the idea.
However, Sayu had fallen deeply in love and went out with him and gave him no help at all for their research. He broke up with her the day before the accident leaving him as a suspect but with the camera in the lab, the police were convinced it wasn't him. Then, as his partner became mad with the information and the vial, he stood back and watched him take control. It left him with the embarrassment of the whole situation.
The story made Reina understood why Eri had become less informative on the condition that she had taken. It made her concerned and the accident only made it worst as it was the owner of the information. He thoroughly explained the the myth to them and gave the duo the information they needed.
“Here's the coffee, sorry for the wait.” The waitress bowed as she went back to the kitchen.
“So, since we all are on the same page, I am curious about what is out there.” Sayu scratched her head as she only had a few that were proven.
“Time, fire, and mind control.” Sayu said under her voice.
“Wait a moment, there is more right?” Sayu nodded.
“Wind, water, and earth.” The doctor nodded in agreement.
“The elements are the hardest to determine success.” Sayu nodded again leaving Reina out of the conversation and the kitty jumped at the opportunity.
“My friend developed fire.” Sayu tilted her head as the guy's eyes widened.
The guy looked through his paper as quick as he could and found a paragraph about the natural occurrence of possessing such elemental power. He read through it and he was taken back with the research.
“Explain!” Reina yelled.
“The possession of elements usually mean that it is close to each other to make every place in balance, the being is after the elements to over power the other two. The mind control and time are no match to the elemental power of all four.” Sayu and Reina looked at each other in surprise.
“I think I have given all the information I collected in my research so is that all?” Both nodded as they put their share for the drinks.
“I still have your number Yu... to... kun~” The guy fell over as Reina walked away shaking her head.
The duo walked out into the night as the town slowly turned into a ghost town. They walked back to the train station where they had time to kill for the next train. Sayu kept her attention to the spot on the ground as Reina kept herself in the moment of worrying for her friend.
“Reina... do you miss Eri?” Sayu said with a soft voice.
“Of course I do, but I want to protect Aika now, she is our concern for now. Eri will give us the answers as we go along because of you.” Sayu nodded.
“Eri once said that she knew you were a good person and I didn't believe her until I met you again and saved Aika and Tomo from the mad doctor. You make me feel comfortable like how Eri was, I know that me and you cannot be in love but I want you to accept me as a close friend.” Sayu bowed toward her.
Reina held her head up and gave her a strong hug as the train arrive at the station. Reina dragged Sayu back onto the train as they traveled back to the city. Reina spent the night up as Sayu slept next to her with no problem. Reina liked looking at the stars at night as she dreamed about being normal again but acknowledging her powers comforted her. She closed her eyes for a bit and realized it was close to their stop and she was left to stay up with the little energy she had left.
“Reina, you didn't sleep.” Sayu noted as it pulled into their stop.
“Yeah, just had a good dream that I needed to keep alive.” Reina and Sayu got off the train and saw a badly damaged store.
Reina noticed the damage were made by a strong person as the wood was cleanly broken in half and the metal pipes were bent perfectly in a 45 degree angle. Sayu walked in and found a person lying there lifeless as the people stood around him. Before any spoke, Reina picked up the plank and the blood oozed from it.
“Sayu, this is bad.” Reina showed her the plank and Sayu agreed with the statement.
-
Hmm, so the plot thickens but it seems as though trouble may be coming thier way befored they have all the answers figured out.....
-
You're back with this! :)
“The fireball came from a B planet outside of solar system and she has enough power to eliminate the world.” Sayu concluded her report.
“Thanks, Sayu, so what are we going to do?” Aika asked.
I dunno why, but this made me lol unexpectedly. I think its the culmination of your portrayal of a genius Sayu and her intellectual reports. Perhaps I projected RL Sayu and Aika and it made me giggle imagining a serious Sayu spewing out facts and then Aika responding in her calm deadpan voice.
Interesting twist so far.
-
@oddy just the twists and turns into the next part
@gracula yes, I had a choice between crack pervs or supernatural or suppressed love, I guess two out of three ain't bad :nervous
Chapter 19
The two looked through the disaster area and picked up the splinters from the store. Sayu kept the evidence in the plastic bag as they walked back into the city. It was eerily quiet for the late afternoon and moments later, the explosion came from behind, the duo turned and saw the dumpster on fire. They ran over to the apartment seeing Aika and Tomo on the couch staring at the television.
“Reina, someone has been attacking the city while you were gone, however it disappeared after the attack on the store.” Aika explained as Reina pointed outside to the dumpster.
“That being knows we are here, which means we are running out of time, so we need volunteers quick.” Sayu said with a concerned look on her face.
It was a weird situation for them to understand, they could fight the being without help but underestimating its power would cause drastic consequences. The timing was also bad for them as the people they needed were probably hiding. Reina only knew the two next to them but to sacrifice their lives would be risky, but knowing Sayu, she would risk for the sake of the world. Reina ran over with her sleep bomb and punched a hole into the neighbor's door and knocked out the couple.
Saki and Miya dropped to the ground and were dragged out by Sayu and Reina and brought back into their room. Sayu sat them up as they received a small injection of the vial, they instantly woke up to find Reina and Sayu hovering over them. Saki and Miya each gave a concerned look before feeling the effects of the shot.
“You injected us with something, WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!” Miya yelled as Sayu pressed her body on top of her.
“Urusai! We need your help, can you just play along for once?” Reina crossed her arms as Sayu lifted herself off Miya and Saki trying to shake Miya from her trance.
Reina and Sayu followed the couple outside and instantly the being appeared in front of them, it shot a laser toward them knocking them off their feet. Miya threw out an ice shard from her hand and deflected off it. Saki pounded the ground to make the earth shake below it and knocking the being to the ground. The being countered with its vines trapping Saki and Miya blew a snowstorm at the vines, freezing it instantly.
“They are putting up a good fight.” Reina cheered them on as Sayu became discouraged.
“We gotta pull them out....” Sayu mumbled as the being grew angry.
The being drew back everything and sat down whispering words under its breath as the couple looked at each other an charged towards it. Reina panicked and paused the scene, the couple was frozen but the being was speeding up its chant. Reina dragged the two out of the way and back into the alley before the darkness came upon them. The group ran back into the building as the black hole took a car into the abyss.
“Whoa, what was that?” Miya exclaimed as Sayu gave both the cure to the vial.
“That is the new threat in town.” Sayu said as they stood up and tried the moves again with no success.
“It didn't seem powerful, we could have beaten it, nee Miya-chan~” Saki looked at her partner as Sayu sat both of them down again.
“The being was toying with you guys, it knows about Reina and Aika being here, but we cannot defeat it while it is at its infant stage.” The two gave confused looks at Sayu.
“Sayu is trying to say that the time it has been here, it has been adapting to life in the town, I am not sure if it has developed strong feelings yet but we cannot fight it while it is growing stronger.” Reina laughed as Sayu nodded at every word she was saying.
“So, you wanted us to test out a theory?” Miya asked as Sayu slowly nodded.
“I see, you guys really don't need us.” Aika stopped them two from walking out.
“We need everyone, it can't be won by us, if Sayu and Reina were not needy, they wouldn't have knocked you out.” Aika explained as both gave a smirk before walking back into their apartment.
They started to feel the chill again as the city was becoming a wasteland every second they didn't fight back. However, the energy it was using was getting higher at every attack and the rapid attacks were a good sign of weakness. The timing was still a while away as Sayu stayed in the cave watching its energy and aging progressing through the night. Aika and Tomo had decided to play in the other room, leaving Reina alone in the apartment.
It was unusually quiet as the attacks stopped and Reina looked outside as the being withdrew its powers and changed into a woman. She seemed to be about Sayu's height and replicated a shapely lady, Reina pressed her face against the window as it turned toward her. After a few minutes of staring, the woman fell onto the pavement.
The kitty ran down to the streets and carried her into the lobby as she began to scream in pain, Reina saw the dark matter escape her body, and disappeared into the carpet. Sayu saw them in the lobby and look at her as she slowly opened her eyes.
“What happened? Why am I here?” She quickly got up and looked around before taking a seat.
“First, you had some dark matter in you and it finally came out of you.” Reina explained as the woman began to gain back her consciousness.
“That seems weird, I need to go home, my girlfriend is worried about me.” Sayu took out her blood kit and got a fresh sample from the woman. Sayu instructed her to write down her name and took it down into her book.
“Sudou... Maasa...” Sayu said to herself.
“That black matter.... we need to find it.” Reina said to Sayu as she began to think and feared for the next victim.
Sayu and Reina ran up to the apartment to find the doors locked and the matter formed into the human form again but it was a shell. Sayu felt something in her and struck down the matter back into slime form as it slithered away from them and fell through the cracks of the building. Sayu ran back to Aika's room and saw the two playing with each other. Reina dove into the couch to go off on her little cat nap as Sayu dragged herself back into the cave for testing.
-
Hnmm,so this being is becoming more powerful... Porr Saki and Miya though, were they really needed to test thisn theory out, seems as though theere are much harder battles to come....
-
Don't worry- I see the crack in everything. And I am by nature, a perv, so you got all three out of three.
 The crack! I sees it.
-
@oddy I like bringing them in and out of each chapter
@gracula look at the poem section, more random stuff is there
Chapter 20
Maasa began her long walk back to her apartment, which was unfortunately across town, as she looked around at the burnt stores around town. It seemed unusual for her to not notice most were places that she liked. As she got to the final block, a familiar person was around the corner, and she was gleeful that she was still there.
“Maa-chan, where were you?” She asked with a familiar high pitch.
“I was hanging out with the gang again.” Maasa said in a soft voice.
“MAA~ you got to stop, you have me now, I know they are your best friends but...” She paused for a bit.
“I know, it will be the last time.” Maasa looked around before asking the burning question.
“What happened, Momo-chan?” She took a deep breath before explaining.
Maasa felt compelled that the damage was caused by a dark figure who destroyed the are with its fireball and burning all the store down in its path. Momo showed the only place that was still standing because she was there and the only damage was the freezer. Maasa felt something weird inside and squatted down to thank Momo for being safe while she was away.
At that moment, there was a shaking of the earth, and Maasa grabbed the peach over to a safe place as it slowly went back into a standstill. They both ran back into the apartment and picked up the books that fell from the shelf. As they finished, an aftershock came and knocked both of them down to the ground. Then, both blacked out when the shelf fell upon them.
Sayu came running from the lab with a long piece of paper filled with coding, she saw the disheveled kitty, and took a seat next to her. Sayu circled the paper with a red pen.
“Very simple. The quake and aftershocks have opened up a hole and the black matter has become stronger.” Sayu explained.
Aika and Tomo came into the room and saw Sayu with a concerned look on her face. As she explained it to them, Reina looked outside to the quiet streets. Then, all of sudden a scream came from outside and a bright flash blinded everyone. After a few minutes, everyone saw the damage on the street as it seemed it was peeled back.
“Sayu-chan, what happened?” Tomo asked as they picked themselves off the floor.
“I don't know.” Sayu rubbed her eyes and saw the road one more time before walking back into the lab.
The other three walked over to their neighbors and knocked down the door to Saki and Miya's room as they held each other on the ground. The duo followed the group back to their apartment and sat on the couch as they recovered from the trauma of the earthquake. Reina grew curious about the road splitting and ran down to the lobby.
“Wow, this is interesting.” Reina saw an orange liquid flowing in the fissure.
Reina ran along the fissure and bang into an older person as he wiped himself off and nodded his head to the kitty. Then, two young women came running up to her and dragged her into the alleyway as the men came running by. They took her into the abandoned room and looked around their surroundings before explaining their situation.
“You are the store people, why did you guys trap me?” They extended their arms and the black tar was slowly consuming them.
“Ah this is bad. Follow me.” Reina had stopped time again as they ran back to the apartment building.
Reina began to notice the population were coming from the liquid and were becoming strengthen by its goo. She ran all the way back to Sayu, who was mentally stumped by the recent events. Sayu saw the two and looked at their arms. Sayu took out a spray bottle and squirted the medicine onto their skin, the black ooze fell off into a bag, and Sayu experimented in front of them.
“Thank you.” Both bowed to the group as they were given a piece of paper.
“Write your names.” Sayu said in a stern voice.
The duo wrote down the information and gave it off to Sayu, Tomo walked over with glasses of apple juice, and the two sat down on the chairs in the kitchen. Reina followed Sayu down to the lab and leaving the group upstairs. One of the two women acknowledged the little girl catching Aika's attention.
“Whose child is this?” The woman asked.
“I am her caregiver, her mother was killed months ago and she was left in my care.” Aika explained.
“I see, by the way I am Takahashi Ai and this is my roommate, Niigaki Risa, we are workers at the nearby store. I never had formally introduce myself so it would be nice to learn as we are stuck together.” Ai took a bow followed by her mate.
“I am Mitsui Aika and this is Tomo, that is Saki and Miya who live down the hall, and the other two are Sayu and Reina, they are the people who are looking into the recent developments.” Mittsi explained as Reina came out and bowed to the people.
“You look cute.” Ai mumbled as Aika closed her fist.
“Aika is jealous.” Miya pointed out and caught the glaring anger in her eyes.
“Sorry, I always like cute people, reason why Niiigaki has been my roommate, even though she is a clean freak and I like to keep it a certain way.” Ai suddenly got interrupted by Sayu who was panting from her run.
“Usagi-chan? Why do you have to be here?” Niigaki rolled her eyes back as Sayu kneed her forehead in frustration.
“Mame-chan always got to be the thorn, even though she never was accepted her true love.” Sayu stung back and Risa charged toward the bunny making a fight between the two.
“Sayu, please explain before you take off her head.” Reina pulled her back and took the paper from her.
“Human eco-matter?” Reina thought for a while and then it hit her.
“Poop? They had poop on their arms.” Reina began to laugh relentlessly as Sayu ran through the paper and pointed out the effective material.
“It seems we are fighting a super power that no other can destroy. We need to start preparing for the coming of the queen or king of their planet.” Sayu explained as Risa just ignored the situation.
“So, what shall we do?” Risa asked as she kept her eye contact from Sayu.
“We have to wait.” Sayu walked back with her head down and shaking her head.
“We are facing the end of the world.” All felt dejected with no answer within sight.

Chapter 21
Everyone sat around patiently with their hands on the ground waiting for the next movement to be called. Risa and Ai were impressed with Aika in caring for Tomo, it wasn't important to the whole community on what happened but it left a huge impression on them. The two asked Tomo questions about Aika as they tried to find more about their relationship.
Reina, who was bored of the lack of attention towards her, turned on the television. The news was about the crack in the road. The scientists were concerned about the liquid and hesitated to even sample the material. Then, the cameras turned to a person with glowing red eyes and looked at the road. It jumped in and took a swim for a meter before jumping back out and flying to the top of the building.
“Sayu!” Reina yelled as all were watching the television as the creature looked down at the crowd.
“Reina! What's the problem?” Sayu paused looking at the television.
Sayu had become intrigued by the creature and how it just looked over everybody before taking a leap to the next building. The news could not interpret the actions and just shut off the cameras to move to another location. Reina turned it off and sat back on the couch when a noise came from the roof and the creature busted through the window.
“It's coming.” The low tone in the voice gave away its gender.
“What's coming?” Ai asked.
“The queen of the planet, she is angry that the powers have been misused by the humans.” Sayu leaned back on the wall.
“Misused? We found the formula on our own.” Sayu leaned over to help him up.
“Yes, you guys did but Eri's uncle left it for her and Eri innocently used it in her research paper, I am here to kill him and his group.” Everybody left the room by Reina's request and left the two against the weakened creature.
“I can't let you do that.” Reina said sternly. “He made a minor mistake.”
“Please, she will not come if the source is dead.” The creature stood up and walked toward the door.
Reina charged toward him and knocked him off his feet, he threw a punch at the kitty, and she countered with a punch to his midsection. He rolled over and screamed in pain while Reina looked at him slowly turning into a puddle. Sayu grabbed Reina away as he disappeared from the room.
“I have failed.” His last words before going through the cracks in the floor.
The group returned back to find the creature was gone and looked over at Reina who was still in Sayu's grasp. Risa pushed Sayu to get to Reina and before she asked what happened, Aika stepped in to clear the air.
“Reina and Sayu have been trying to find the source of all the damage to the town, Sayu has been working diligently to answer all our questions. Risa, I know it may be frustrating but we need to seek our answers through the safety of the apartment.” Tomo tugged on Aika's shirt.
The sky turned dark quickly and the people felt the shake of the ground, throwing them into the liquid below. The group could only watch as the population fell in one by one, then the explosion came from the crack, the people leaped up and they were testing the powers against each other. The lasers flew everywhere as the imagery changed to everyone using their powers recklessly.
“I guess it was a pool contaminated with the various powers.” Sayu rubbed her chin as she pondered over the situation.
Risa held her hand on her hips as she glared over at Sayu and Ai grew concerned over what was happening. Aika and Tomo watched along with Miya and Saki with the powers going crazy and deflecting into the hole in the apartment. Sayu closed her eyes and took everyone into the lab to stall for the time being. However, it seemed to bug her about the first victim.
“Reina, I have a mission.” Sayu said under her voice.
“What is it. Sayu?” reina replied as she handed her a slip of paper.
“I have to fine Maasa through this mess.” Reina nodded and jumped onto the streets.
The kitty ran across the city avoiding all the elements and got to an apartment building with everything intact. The woman outside was holding her head like she had a headache, Reina walked into the building, and quickly looked around. Looking back down at the paper, she saw an address was scribbled down. The woman tapped the kitty on the shoulder and peeked at the paper, she led her all the way to the room where Maasa was sitting up.
“You were the one who asked what happened to me.” Maasa pointed out as Momo grew confused.
“What did you do, to Maa-chan?” Momo pushed Reina to the wall.
“She was attacked by a dark matter, she does not remember when it happened, and why she was missing for a while.” Reina explained to the peach, giving Momo a brief understanding.
“Why did she lie for?” Maasa stood up and took the little woman to the side.
“I had to make it believable, it would have been hard to say that something attacked me, since I have been the one protecting you.” Maasa held Momo in her arms as Reina shook her head.
“We need to go, follow me.” Reina ran up the stairs and paused time as she held onto the two and jumped from building to building until a sharp pain hit her in the leg. Reina fell over and looked at the person who injured her.
“Yes, I got one.” He cheered as the kitty stood back up and punched him off the building.
“Wow, you are strong.” Momo commented as she jumped on top Reina to be carried across to the her building.
“Momo-chan, she helped me, please be considerate.” Momo got off and all landed on the building, then ran down to the floor they were on where the darkness was filled with lightning as a spotlight came from the distance.
“It is the coming of the queen.” Maasa said as Sayu opened the door to the lab.

Hmm, so it was Eri's father who has brought the queen down upon them, I'm not sure if Reina should really of killed the moster she encounterd as perhpas it may of proved useful but still, at leat Reina and Sayu know why the quuen is coming, and perhpas what needs to be done to stop it....
