AKB48 reschedules album, announces upcoming singles and next Senbatsuhttp://www.tokyograph.com/news/akb48-reschedules-album-announces-upcoming-singles-and-next-senbatsu (http://www.tokyograph.com/news/akb48-reschedules-album-announces-upcoming-singles-and-next-senbatsu)
AKB48 has just revealed a new release date for its original album “Koko ni Ita Koto.” Originally scheduled for release on April 6 but delayed due to the Tohoku earthquake, it has now been set for June 8, and part of the revenue from the album’s sales will be donated to the rebuilding efforts in the earthquake-affected areas.
The group also revealed some details about its upcoming singles. Their 21st single, currently untitled, will be released on May 25. Like the album, part of the sales will be donated to charity. The single will come in two versions, “Type-A” and “Type-B.” Each version will have a limited-quantity edition with tickets for a handshake event randomly inserted (there will be two designs for the tickets).
All copies of the single will contain a serial-numbered card used for voting in the group’s next “Senbatsu” election, which will determine the participating members for their 22nd single. The vote-counting day and the single’s release date are not yet known.
^ Hard to say until the tickets are in hand, but in past senbatsu elections the answer has been yes. It does require Firefox + user agent switcher to pull off, though. You have to make the site think your browser is a Japanese language smartphone to make it work. Not that hard, really. Thankfully they've not restricted it to Japanese IP addresses... yet. See here (http://stage48.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=280440#p280440) for an older guide.
I hope Acchan wins.I hope Mariko wins.

I swear they stole that intro/chorus melody from Versailles - Princess chorus.
Sounds like a pretty standard AKB song, which I guess is good. It's ok.
oh man, these two songs are quite similar XDI swear they stole that intro/chorus melody from Versailles - Princess chorus.Man, it starts EXACTLY like X Japan's "Say Anything"

X Japan - Say Anything (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVw513pyWBY#)
I've realized some Akipi's composers use a lot of visual melodies @___@ Like K5's Furishite Maneshite, that has a solo guitar exactly like Lareine's Fuyu Tokyo :o
shitty song, all lost!What...?!??

Agency --> successful sub-unit --> senbatsu? Go Mocchi! :twothumbsYou mention Nacchan and Harugon, but oddly enough Kikuchi and Rabutan made it too this time..
Absolutely Pony tail revival
Absolutely Pony tail revivalWith slight dosage of Namida Surprise
Yuki looks sorta weird in the regular B version. She doesn't seem part of the moment. The B covers are pretty boob heavy
Theater is really cute. Would've preferred Milky instead of Sayaka, but that's nitpicking.
Only 8 AKB girls are on the covers... I guess that confirms Yukirin's top member status :thumbup
But, was it just me- or was the pv quite choppy?? Or was it meant to be Acchan remembering things as she hurried to get to the harbour..?That. is an awesome angle. Now if only that were the case... :panic:
That ending, with the 5 girls waving goodbye to the rest of the group sailing off without them, damn well better not be symbolic of any upcoming events.
but... noooes!!! ^Great, thanks!
I was hoping Rena would be on the back on some of the covers. If Mayu/Mariko are on the back of LE A, I wonder who's on the back for the regular Type A...
So CDJapan has the Jurina pic... I'll just kill myself now for not pre-ordering  j/k. I can't wait to see the other bonus pics.

AKB48: “Everyday, Kachusha” almost sells 1 million in one day, Oshima Yuko leads electionhttp://www.tokyograph.com/news/akb48-everyday-kachusha-almost-sells-1-million-in-one-day-oshima-yuko-leads-election (http://www.tokyograph.com/news/akb48-everyday-kachusha-almost-sells-1-million-in-one-day-oshima-yuko-leads-election)
AKB48’s 21st single, “Everyday, Kachusha,” is on its way to becoming the group’s biggest hit yet. Their previous single “Sakura no Ki ni Narou” sold 942,479 copies in its first week, but Oricon reports that “Everyday, Kachusha” has sold a staggering 942,475 copies on its first day alone.
Record stores were prepared for the onslaught, as 1.45 million copies went out with the single’s first shipment, compared to 1.10 million copies for “Sakura no Ki ni Narou.”
As long as the sales numbers for the rest of the week keep up, “Everyday, Kachusha” will likely set some new records. The first-week sales of “Sakura no Ki ni Narou” already ranks as the 6th highest in history, but AKB48 now has a chance to become 1st. As it stands, the top five are:
Namonaki Uta – Mr.Children - 1,208,000
Addicted to You – Utada Hikaru - 1,068,000
Dango 3 Kyoudai – Hayami Kentaro, Shigemori Ayumi, Himawari Kids & Dango Gasshoudan – 1,026,000
Winter, again – GLAY - 956,000
LOVE PHANTOM – B'z - 951,000
AKB48 are almost guaranteed to finish the week at #2 (and #1 for a female artist), but taking #1 will depend on their remaining momentum. Fortunately, they also happen to be in the middle of a concert revival series and their 3rd Senbatsu election (for their 22nd single), which means that sales will likely continue to be strong.
Day 1: #1 - 942,475
One reason why AKB48 and many other idol groups hit so well on the Oricon charts, is because many fans buy multiple copies of their CDs. I’ve never done that myself, but I have bought all 3-4 versions of a single a couple of times before. Now, this sometimes gets to such an extreme level that it’s, well, a little bit creepy.
“Everyday, Kachuusha” sold 942,475 copies the first day, and 5500 were from just one person, for a total of 880,000 yen (~$10,800). I don’t know about you, but I’d say that’s quite a bit of money for what you get, and I think he might have to get a bigger apartment. That said, although buying multiple copies isn’t the only way to show how much of a wota you are, I think we’re safe to say that he’s a big one, although I can’t spot a single poster in his room…
I've got to wonder who he's voting for.
Day 2: #1 - 142,233
Total: 1.084.708
Day 3: #1 - 57,945
Total: 1,142,653
Day 4: #1 - 57,371
Total: 1,200,024
Today it was announced that AKB48’s new song “Everyday, Kachuusha” sold 1,334,000 copies in its first week, claiming first place by a wide margin and effectively becoming the highest first-week single sales record in Japan.
The record had not been broken since rock band Mr. Children sold 1,208,000 copies of their song “Namonaki Uta” back in 1996.
For the idol group, it also marked their eighth consecutive first-week top-seller since “RIVER” in 2009. The last female group that managed to possess such a long-lasting streak was “Pink Lady“, more than 32 years ago.
The record sales are directly linked with the impending “3rd Senbatsu General Election“, because every CD contains a unique serial number that allows you to vote for your favorite member in the Internet poll.
Member Takahashi Minami commented, “It’s such a big honor for us (to break this record). Everyone knows that it’s all thanks to all of our fans.”
