Eight or nine years ago avex was the shit. Nowadays, a lot of their stuff is missing the "the". :nervous But FK and DiVA are okay so far... might not be bad or any change at all.

Idol group SKE48 announced on Saturday that they are changing record labels to Avex, and their first single after the move will be titled “Pareo no Emerald,” scheduled for a July 27 release (which happens to be the birthday of member Matsui Rena).

The news came just before the encore at Team S’s performance in Aichi, as well as Team KII’s performance in Tokyo, which was held at the same time on May 28. 18 members of the group also answered questions at a press conference held in the morning.

SKE48 made their debut in 2009 under the label Lantis, and they moved to CROWN GOLD starting with their second single in March 2010. “Pareo no Emerald” will be their sixth single.

AKB48′s sub-units French Kiss and DiVA are also signed with Avex. However, SKE48 is the first full group from the AKB48 family to move to that label.

It was previously announced in April that AKB48 and its related groups are performing in this year’s a-nation tour. SKE48 is scheduled for the August 13 event in their home of Nagoya, Aichi.

A Facebook friend told me about it and drove down to where they were as fast as safely possible (and then got lost!!!!) but finally found the place they were filming!!!!!!!!!

It was a public beach so I was able to walk around with no problems.

As far as I could see (girls that I recognize) included the Matsuis, Ogiso, Yukko, Kumi, Masana, Anna, Mizuki and SHAWAKO!!!!!! The scene they were filming involved the girls jumping off of a cliff into the ocean. Rena was wearing a red dress. Was hard to see everyone since they were all huddled under golf umbrellas and trying to keep from getting sunburned. I think I made eye contact with Kumi and Masana as I was walking by though.

I wasn't sure of the proper fan etiquette so I tried to keep my distance and stay out of the way but ended up talking to one of the photographers (or something). Apparently the filming wraps up tomorrow on the North Shore of Oahu according to the photographer. I took some pictures with my phone from far away (though I maybe shouldn't have). Sorry.

As I was leaving, I saw Shawako sitting by herself by the food tent eating pineapple so I gave in to temptation and talked to her. I told her I was a big fan, congratulations on making senbatsu for the PV and that she looked cute as always (I messed up a little on that b/c I was nervous though) and then she got all shy and tried to hide behind her hair!!! I should have told her how much fans overseas love her or to have more confidence but I wanted to keep it short so not to make the nearby staff angry for talking to her too much.

There was almost an incident where one of the hair/make people fell in a big puddle and later fell into the ocean!

Bikinis and Hawaii aside, I'm just excited that they are breaking away from the format of their past few singles. It's time to stop featuring crowds and feature these awesome girls. :thumbup However, bikinis are always nice.

And now, to hear the Shawako is in the senbatsu for this single... totally made my day. I hope the song is as awesome as all of this news. :thumbup

Edit: Also, I think it's pretty cute that they are pretending like nothing's going on in their blog, despite all the senbatsu not blogging at all recently, and apologizing for not updating as much for "unknown" reasons. :lol:

Jeez, I make a few tweets and I get like 15 new Japanese followers and countless retweets! I hope they don't expect me to provide them with constant SKE news since most of my tweets are random BS of my boring daily life. They're all like "you better go to the North Shore (even though I didn't know the exact location) and find them again!" I expect more of the same now that I tweeted the 10 girls I can confirm seeing that day!

Apparently, going by the number of girls pretending nothing is going on with their blogs, there are 16 members speculated to be senbatsu for this single?

Luckily I don't have Ronin's problem that all the favorite members are spread out evenly on the A and B types. I can get my Rena, Kumi, Akarin and Shawako fix with type B. In addition, Rena and Shiitan in Akagumi make the choice even easier :twothumbs

I considered this, but it has some downsides:
- List would become long and messy
- Times have changed; some older singles sales are irrelevant and some singles with 'low' first week sales have turned into megahits.
- In the end, it's the records that count :P

But you are right, I'll definitely try to add some other relevant AKB48 single sales since the gap to Kachuusha is huge.

She came back from the store room with a larger photograph of ..............Jurina!! Anyway, no probs, I am happy to have purchased the latest from SKE48, and wish them continued success! The DVD is outstanding- colorful, nice shots of them at a high school in Hawaii, and of course, the jumping into the water scene.

In attached clip they are at a fan handshake event, and 5,500 punters showed up!! There is a little bit of talk of who lost some weight to get ready for the video, which is a shame, cuz they all are healthy young ladies, no matter the size or shape.
