Prologue
“Believe in our fairy tale. Believe that one day our dreams will come true…”
She walked down the long corridor. Her footsteps echoed loudly in the quiet hallway.
She hated hospital. It felt so white and so un-lively.
She stopped in front of the door and looked at the name that was listed there.
This wasn’t right. Her name shouldn’t be here. She shouldn’t be here.
She reached out with a shaking hand and touched the name softly.
If only this could all be a dream…
She opened the door and walked in.
A girl was sleeping peacefully on the bed.
She walked close to the bed and sat down on the chair. She reached out and touched the other girl’s face softly.
“You promised me that we would have a happy ending, remember? You said that you would always keep your promise, so stop sleeping. You have been sleeping for so long already, it’s time to wake up.”
Her voice began to crack and tears were forming in her eyes.
“Please wake up. Don’t leave me here all alone.”
A tear rolled down her face and landed on the other girl’s hand.
“Please…”

Chapter 1
“You are the most beautiful princess in the kingdom…”
“Haruna.”
Somebody was calling her.
“Haruna.”
She could hear the voice again.
Who was calling her?
And where was she?
She tried to remember. She had a full day of photoshoots yesterday. After her work was finished last night, she didn’t go home. Instead, she went to the hospital and visited…
Suddenly, she jolted awake.
“Yuko!”
Kojima Haruna opened her eyes and looked at the bed. The girl who laid there still had her eyes closed. The machines that were hook up to her showed no signs of any change in the girl’s status.
Takahashi Minami looked at her in concern.
“Haruna, did you sleep here again?” Minami asked softly.
Haruna turned to face Minami. “Takamina.”
“I knew that I would find you here.”
Haruna sat back down on the chair and placed her hand over Yuko’s. The feel of Yuko’s hand slowly calmed her racing heart.
“Haruna, you have to stop doing this.” The worry in Minami’s voice was evident. “You are over-exerting yourself. Yuko wouldn’t want to see you like this.”
Haruna remained silent.
Minami sighed. “I have to go to the agency before heading to the theatre. So, I just wanted to come by and remind you that we have a performance tonight.”
“Thanks.” Haruna replied blankly.
“C’mon Haruna, you better go home and freshen up first before the performance tonight.”
Haruna nodded. She got up and kissed Yuko softly on the forehead. She grabbed her bag and walked out of the room with Minami.

Haruna walked into her apartment and dropped her bag onto the couch.
She walked over to the small cabinet and picked up a picture frame. Yuko had her arms around Haruna in the photo and they were both smiling brightly.
It had been 3 months since Yuko’s accident. It had been the worst 3 months in her life.
“Yuko is not here yet?” Haruna asked as she walked into the dressing room.
Miyazawa Sae shook her head. “I had tried calling her earlier but she didn’t pick up.”
“That’s strange.” Minami answered. “She took the first van here with some of the staff. They had left the theatre a lot earlier than we did, so they should be here by now.”
“It’s almost time for our performance.” Maeda Atsuko said as she looked at the clock on the wall.
Just then, the ringing of Minami’s cell phone interrupted their conversation.
“Moshi moshi.” Minami answered. “Kudo-san?”
Everyone in the room turned their attention to Minami as they recognized the name of one of their managers.
“Yes, we are at the studio right now. There are still 30 minutes until our recording, but Yuko is not here yet.” Minami paused as she listened to their manager speak. “Ee?”
Haruna could not stop the bad feeling that was forming in her stomach as she watched Minami’s face turned pale.
“No… Yuko… She…” Minami started to cry as their manager continued to talk. “O… Okay.”
Minami passed the phone to the staff member that was standing close to her. The staff continued to talk on the phone as Minami turned to face the other members in the room.
“Minami? What happened?” Shinoda Mariko asked carefully.
Minami bit her lips and shook her head.
“Takamina, what happened to Yuko?” Haruna walked up to Minami and asked.
“The van that Yuko was in got into an accident. They were hit by a car that had lost control. The driver and the other staff members are okay, but Yuko…” Minami looked up into Haruna’s face. “Yuko was sitting in the back of the van and that’s… That’s where the other car slammed into the van…”
Minami could not continue anymore. Mariko walked over and wrapped her arms around Minami.
Haruna stepped back and dropped onto the floor. She could not believe her ears. Minami had to be lying. It just could not be true.
“No…” Haruna shook her head in disbelief. “Not Yuko…”
“Haruna.” Minegishi Minami wrapped her arms around the taller girl.
“Yuko…”
It had been 3 months since Yuko was in a coma. The doctor had said that Yuko had suffered a serious head trauma as a result of the accident. They didn’t know when she would wake up.
Haruna touched Yuko’s face in the photograph.
“When are you going to wake up, Yuko?” Haruna whispered as a lone tear rolled down her. “I’m waiting for you. I’m going to stay by your side until you wake up.”

“Good afternoon, Takamina-san.”
Minami smiled as she nodded at the kenkyusei. She walked into the dressing room and sat down in front of the mirror.
Today was Team A’s Mokugekisha performance. A couple of the Team A members would not be able to participate in the performance, so a number of kenkyusei would be subbing in for them.
Normally, Minami loved being at the theatre and being able to perform on stage. But lately, she was missing the motivation or passion she usually had when she’s at the theatre.
After the accident, they had stopped their stage performances since all of the girls were shaken up by what had happened. They had only re-started their stages recently.
Minami looked at herself in the mirror. She looked exhausted. But she knew that Haruna probably looked worst than she did. After the accident, it seemed like Haruna went on autopilot.
Minami was worried about Haruna since she had barely slept and barely ate. Most of the time, Haruna would rather be at the hospital than at work.
Minami often had to remind Haruna about her work, so she wouldn’t miss any appointments. She knew Haruna’s schedule like her own now.
She wished that things could return to the way they were, but she knew that was impossible.
“Kojiharu-san.”
Minami turned around as Haruna nodded blankly at the kenkyusei who had greeted her earlier.
Haruna sat down at the empty seat beside Minami and started to take out her makeup kit. She did not say a word to Minami as she began to do her makeup. Minami watched her silently for a few minutes before starting to prepare for the stage herself.
A few hours later, the performance had finished without any incidents. The members went back to the dressing room to pack up their belongings.
Minami stopped at the doorway. She felt very sorry to the fans who had attended their show as she knew that she was not at her best. She had tried very hard but her heart was just not in the performance. Minami sighed and walked back to her seat.
“Are you going back to hospital tonight?” Minami asked as she watched Haruna gathered her stuff.
Haruna shook her head. “Yuko’s father is going to stay with her tonight.”
Minami patted Haruna softly on the shoulder. “Go home and get some rest.”
“Hmm.” Haruna zipped up her bag. “Good night.”
“Good night.” Minami answered as she watched Haruna walked out of the dressing room. She sat down and looked into the mirror.
“When can we go back to normal?” Minami whispered softly. She flipped open her phone. She searched through the photos and stopped at a picture of Yuko that was taken during their trip to Guam.
“I’m so sorry, Yuko…”

The apartment was dark when Haruna returned. She did not bother turning on any lights. She sat down on her couch and closed her eyes.
It was quiet. She had sent her dogs back to her family in Saitama as she was in no condition to care for them right now.
She had never felt so alone.
Suddenly, she could hear her cell phone rang.
“Moshi moshi.”
“Haruna-chan?”
“Oshima-san?” Haruna recognized the voice of Yuko’s father immediately. “Is everything okay?”
“Haruna-chan, I think you need to come to the hospital now. It’s Yuko…”

Oh...this time it's Haruna who suffered first.
Despite the thread title saying KojiYuu & AtsuMina, I can't help but to revel in the TakaKoji/TakaHaru moment, even if it's platonic XD
Since it's already starting sad, I'm hoping it'll get better in future chapters.

Chapter 2
“I want to be your guardian angel, so that I can protect you.”
Haruna ran along the hospital corridor. Thousands of thoughts were running through her mind. Something had happened to Yuko.
Maybe her condition had worsened.
Or maybe Yuko had passed…
Haruna quickly shook her head to clear her mind of such a thought. Nothing could have happened to Yuko.
Haruna stopped suddenly when she saw Yuko’s father standing in front of Yuko’s room. She quickly walked over to him.
“Oshima-san, is Yuko okay?” Haruna asked still out of breath.
“Haruna-chan, are you okay?” Oshima-san asked in concern.
“Yes.” Haruna bowed slightly as she tried to catch her breath.
“I’m sorry for not being more specific on the phone.” Oshima-san said with an apologetic smile. “But you had hung up the phone so quickly that I didn’t have the chance to explain further.”
“Ahh…”
“I have good news and bad news.”
Haruna’s heart began to beat quickly. She put her hand over her heart and tried to calm herself down. “What is it?”
“The good news is that Yuko had woken up from her coma.”
“Re… Really?” Haruna could not believe her ears. She had been waiting for this moment for so long.
Oshima-san nodded. “She has regained consciousness about a hour ago and from the initial examinations, the doctors think that she is going to be okay. The doctors are doing a more thorough examination right now.”
Haruna put her hand over her mouth as tears of happiness and relief began to roll down her face. “That’s wonderful!”
“Yes, it is.” Oshima-san paused. “There’s just one problem.”
Haruna looked back at Yuko’s father. “What is it?”
“Yuko has amnesia.”

Minami, Mariko and Akimoto Sayaka walked quickly down the corridors of the hospital. Minami had received a phone call from Haruna asking her to come to the hospital right away. As soon as she got off the phone with Haruna, she immediately contacted the 2 older members of AKB. The 3 of them rushed towards the hospital.
They walked towards Yuko’s room and saw Haruna sitting alone in the waiting area. She had her head buried in her hands. The three of them approached her slowly. Haruna looked up when she heard the footsteps approaching.
Mariko sat down next to Haruna and placed a comforting hand on Haruna’s shoulder. “Haruna?”
“Is Yuko okay?” Minami asked.
Haruna nodded. “Yuko… Yuko has woken up.”
“That’s great!” Minami exclaimed as Sayaka let out a sigh of relief.
Mariko noticed the look on Haruna’s face. “What’s wrong, Haruna?”
“Yuko has amnesia.” Haruna replied quietly.
“Amnesia?” Minami asked in disbelief.
“Have you seen Yuko yet?” Mariko asked gently.
Haruna shook her head. “I… I don’t know how to face her. I don’t know if I can handle it she looks at me like a stranger.”
“Maybe Yuko didn’t forget everything.” Sayaka said gently, trying to encourage Haruna. “Maybe she will still remember us.”
Minami nodded determinedly.
“We won’t know until we see her.”
“Haruna-chan?”
The girls looked up to see Yuko’s father approached them.
“Oshima-san.”
The 3 girls bowed politely to the elder man.
“Ah, Minami-chan, Sayaka-chan and Mariko-chan.”
“I’m sorry to be here so late, but Haruna had called us here.” Mariko explained.
“It’s okay.” Oshima-san smiled gently. “The doctors had finished their examination now. Would you girls like to see Yuko? You probably won’t be able to stay very long, since Yuko is still pretty weak.”
Minami looked at Haruna uncertainly. “If it’s not too much trouble…”
“Not at all. Please follow me.”
The 4 of them followed Yuko’s father to Yuko’s room. Oshima-san slid open the door and they walked into the room. Yuko was sitting on her bed with her eyes closed. She opened her eyes when she heard them coming into the room.
“Yuko, your friends are here to you.” Oshima-san said. “Do you recognize them?”
Yuko studied the 4 of them closely. After a few minutes of silence, Yuko shook her head.
Haruna could feel her heart breaking at the blank look that was in Yuko’s eyes.
Oshima-san pointed to the girls and started to introduce them. “This is Akimoto Sayaka, Takahashi Minami, Shinoda Mariko. And this is Kojima Haruna.”
“It’s… nice to meet you.” Yuko said.
Haruna could not take it anymore. “I… Excuse me.” She quickly rushed out of the room.
The remaining 3 members shared a look of concern.
“It’s late, we better go.” Mariko said politely. “Yuko has just woken up. We don’t want to disturb her rest.”
“We will come back later.” Sayaka added.
Oshima-san nodded in understanding. “Thank you so much for visiting.”
“Good night.”
Yuko just nodded as she watched the 3 members left.
The 3 girls walked out of the room and quickly went to search for Haruna. They found her sitting on a bench in the hospital’s garden.
“Haruna.”
“All I ever wanted before was for Yuko to wake up.” Haruna looked at the 3 girls in tears. “But now…”
“Haruna…” Minami didn’t know what to say to make her friend feel better.
“I know. This is a punishment for the way that I had treated Yuko before.”
Mariko sat down next to Haruna and put her hand around Haruna’s shoulders. “Don’t say that.”
Haruna shook her head as she started to sob. Mariko tightened her hands around Haruna to try to comfort her.
“It’s late. We should take Haruna home.” Sayaka said. “It’s been a long day. She needs to rest.”
Mariko nodded. “Minami, why don’t you go home? Sayaka and I will take Haruna home.”
Minami looked at the 2 older members and nodded in agreement. “Okay.” She tapped Haruna softly on the shoulder. “Get some rest, Haruna.”
Haruna continued to sob and did not react to Minami’s touch. Minami sighed.
“Good night, Sayaka. Mariko.”
Mariko watched Minami walked away before turning back to Haruna in her arms. “C’mon, Haruna. Let’s take you home.”
Mariko and Sayaka gently picked Haruna up and led her away from the hospital

Haruna could not remember how she got home, but she woke up sometime later alone on her bed. It was dark in the apartment. She looked at the bedside clock and it read 3:00 am.
It had been a really long day. From the hospital to home to the theatre and back to the hospital. She reached over and touched the empty spot beside her.
“Yuko…”
She got out of her bed and took out a nightshirt from her dresser. It was the nightshirt Yuko always wore whenever she stayed over at Haruna’s place. She lay back down on the bed and brought the nightshirt to her face. She could smell Yuko’s scent on the shirt.
She could still remember that last time Yuko had stayed over, which was the night before the accident.
Haruna slowly opened her eyes. It had been awhile since she had slept so well. She rolled over to find Yuko staring at her.
“What?” Haruna asked shyly.
Yuko shook her head. “Just watching the princess sleep.”
“I’m sure that’s so interesting.”
Yuko touched Haruna’s face softly with her finger. “Next time, you should watch me sleep, then you’ll know how much fun it is.”
Haruna laughed softly. “Okay, I’ll try it next time.”
“Yuko…”
She closed her eyes and let herself drowned in the memories. Memories that she knew Yuko did not have anymore.

Chapter 3
“I’m always going to be by your side, even when you don’t want me to.”
Atsuko groaned as she shut off her alarm. It was only 5:00 am, but she had another long day of solo work scheduled. Lately, she had been very busy with drama filming and the promotion for her single. She had not seen the other members in awhile and she really missed being with them, especially with one person in particular.
Atsuko sighed when her thoughts turned to Minami.
Ever since Yuko’s accident, Atsuko had noticed that Minami had changed. She usually took her captain duties very seriously, but lately, she had been different. Normally, she would jump at the chances to lead the team. Now, she would often ask Sayaka or team B’s captain, Kashiwagi Yuki to lead instead.
And maybe she was imaging it, but Atsuko could feel that Minami had also been a bit distant to her. She had not called Atsuko as frequently as she used to. Minami used to message her a few times a day when they were not working together. Now Atsuko would be lucky to receive one message from the captain in a week.
She missed the old Minami.
Atsuko picked up her phone and noticed that she had received a new message from Minami.
Acchan,
Yuko woke up last night. Call me when you get this message.
Takamina
Atsuko let out a sigh of relief. She immediately began to dial Minami’s number as she knew that the other girl would be up already.
Minami picked up after the first ring. “Acchan?”
“Hey.”
“Did you just wake up?”
“Yeah. How about you? Did I wake you up?”
“No, I couldn’t sleep really well last night, so I’ve been up for awhile now.”
“Takamina, this is wonderful news!” Atsuko exclaimed happily.
“Um.”
Atsuko noticed the tone of sadness in Minami’s voice. “What’s wrong?”
“Yuko has amnesia.”
“What?” Atsuko said in surprise. “Oh no…”
“She doesn’t remember any of us.” Minami answered as a tear rolled down her cheek.
“Well, at least she’s awake. That’s the most important thing, right?” Atsuko tried to sound positive.
“Umm.”
“How’s Haruna doing?” Atsuko asked softly.
“She’s not doing very well.” Minami sighed sadly. “Mariko-sama and Sayaka had to take her home last night.
“It’s understandable.” Atsuko replied. “I don’t know how I would react if I’m in her position…”
“Acchan…”
Just as Minami was going to reply, Atsuko heard her mother calling her.
“Atsuko, your breakfast is ready! You better get out of bed. The van will be here to pick you up soon!”
“Okay, okaasan.” Atsuko called out. “Takamina, I’ve got to go. I will talk to you later.”
“Okay. Hey, Acchan?”
“Yeah?”
“Have a good day at work.”
Atsuko couldn’t help but smile as she hung up the phone. She got out of her bed and got ready to face another long day of work.

Minami walked into the hospital and turned towards Yuko’s room.
She had a few hours of free time before she had work scheduled, so she decided to go to the hospital and visit Yuko again. She didn’t sleep very well last night, and after speaking to Atsuko on the phone, she felt like she had to see Yuko again.
She walked along the busy corridor and suddenly noticed that Yuko’s mother was walking towards her.
Minami walked up to Yuko’s mother and bowed politely.
“Minami-chan, you are here to see Yuko?”
Minami nodded.
“I’m just going to talk to the doctor about Yuko’s physiotherapy sessions.”
“Physiotherapy?”
“Since Yuko had been in a coma for so long, her body is still pretty weak. So, she needs to physiotherapy to strengthen her body again.”
“I see.”
“Yuko might have lost her memories, but her personality still has not changed.” Yuko’s mother chuckled. “She is still as active as ever. She said she can’t wait until she can get out of bed.”
Minami smiled. “That’s very Yuko like.”
Yuko’s mother gestured towards Yuko’s room. “You can go in and see Yuko. I’m sure she’ll love to have some visitors.”
“Thank you.” Minami bowed again as Yuko’s mother walked away.
Minami stopped in front of Yuko’s room and knocked softly on the door.
“Please come in.”
Minami slid opened the door and walked into room. Yuko was sitting on the bed, staring out the window. She turned when she heard Minami walked into the room.
“You…”
Minami bowed apologetically. “I’m sorry to disturb your rest.”
“Not at all.” Yuko shook her head. “You’re Minami-san?”
Minami nodded. “Yes. I’m Takahashi Minami.”
“I remember you from last night.”
A silence followed.
“Ahh… How are you feeling?” Minami asked awkwardly.
“Hmm, a little bit tired.”
“I see.”
The two fell into silence again as the only sound in the room came from the radio that was sitting on the bedside table.
“I like this song.” Yuko spoke up suddenly.
“Ee? Song?” Minami asked, not sure what Yuko was referring to.
Yuko pointed to the radio. Minami listened to the song for a few seconds. Her eyes widened in surprise when she recognized the song.
“That’s ‘Sakura no Ki ni Narou’. That’s our song!”
“My mother told me that I was an idol.”
Minami nodded. “We are both members of AKB48. We are a well known idol group. There are 4 teams in the group. Team A, Team K, Team B and recently Team 4. I’m the captain of Team A.”
“Are you my captain?”
Minami shook her head. “You are in Team K. Akimoto Sayaka, who came with me last night, is the captain of Team K.”
“I see.”
“Shinoda Mariko and Kojima Haruna, who were also here last night, are both in Team A with me.” Minami added.
“It seems like there are a lot of girls?”
Minami laughed. “There are. We have 58 regular members in total, not to mention dozens of kenkyusei. Combined with members of our sister groups, there are over 200 girls in the AKB family.”
“200? Wow?” Yuko’s eyes widen in surprise.
Minami smiled at Yuko’s reaction.
“So, what are our songs like?” Yuko asked, wanting to know more about the group. It felt so easy for her to talk to Minami.
“Very upbeat, energetic pop songs.” Minami explained. “I can bring some of our CDs to you, so you can listen to them.”
“Really? That would be good.” Yuko smiled. Minami had missed that smile. “What?”
Minami shook her head. “It’s nice to see you smile.”
“So, what was I like?”
Minami thought for a second. “You are always full of energy and jumping around. You are like the mood maker of our group. And you like to touch and kiss the other girls a lot too.” Minami rambled on. “But you are a really good person and a really great dancer and a good friend…”
Yuko burst out laughing. “Are you secretly in love with me?”
“What?”
“It seems like all you do is praise me.”
Minami could feel her face turning red. “No, it’s the truth. You’re a really good person.”
“Are you sure you are not hiding some deep feelings for me?”
“It’s not like that!”
Yuko continued to laugh. “Can I call you Minami?”
Minami was taken back. “Uh, sure.”
“I like you, Minami. You are very funny.”
Minami did not know how to react to Yuko’s comment, so she just nodded. She looked at her watch and realized the time.
“I’ve got to go.” Minami noticed the slight disappointed look on Yuko’s face and added. “I’ll come back and visit again.”
Yuko smiled. “I’d like that.”
Minami was about to walk out of the room when Yuko called her back.
“Wait!”
“What is it?”
“Can I message you?” Yuko took her cell phone from the bedside table.
“Of course.” Minami nodded. “You have my address. You can message me anytime.”
“Thanks, Minami.”
Minami waved goodbye and walked out of the room. She looked at the closed door and smiled. The talk with Yuko had lifted up her spirit. All of the tiredness and anxiety she had felt earlier in the morning was gone.
She walked out of the hospital and towards her next destination with renewed energy and determination.

Chapter 4
“I’m going to watch over you to make sure that you will be happy.”
Ding Dong.
Haruna pulled the covers over her head.
Ding Dong.
She wished the person who had been ringing her doorbell for the last 5 minutes would just go away.
She didn’t want to see anyone. She just wanted to stay in bed and hid from the world.
The doorbell stopped ringing and Haruna thought the person at the door had given up and left. Suddenly, her cell phone started to ring.
Haruna groaned. She picked up her phone and looked at the caller display.
Minegishi Minami.
She flipped open her phone and pressed answer. “Mii-chan, go away!”
“Haruna, I know that you are in there. Open the door!”
“I don’t want to see or talk to anyone.”
“You’re talking to me now.”
“Just go away.”
“I have all day. I will just stay out here and keep ringing your doorbell until you open the door.”
“Mii-chan!”
“Haruna!”
Haruna rubbed her temples in frustration. She knew that she wasn’t going to win this fight. “Fine!”
She got out of bed and walked over to the door. She opened the door and gave Mii-chan a hard look. “What do you want?”
“Well, hello to you too.” Mii-chan walked into the apartment and sat on the couch.
Haruna closed the door and stood in front of the couch. “What are you doing here?”
“Mariko was worried about you and since she had to work today, she asked me to come and check on you.”
“I’m okay.”
“Haruna, you don’t look okay.”
Haruna looked away.
“Haruna, don’t keep everything to yourself.” Mii-chan patted the spot next to her. “Let us help you.”
Haruna walked over to the couch and sat down next to Mii-chan. Mii-chan wrapped her arms around the older girl and Haruna finally broke down.
“Mii-chan…”
“Shh… It’s okay.” Mii-chan whispered softly and rubbed Haruna’s back. “Just let it all out.”
“Mii-chan, what am I going to do?” Haruna looked up at Mii-chan with tears in her eyes.
“Yuko never gave up on you, even when you were denying your true feelings for her. You shouldn’t give up on Yuko now.”
“But she doesn’t remember me anymore.”
“Did you forget, Haruna? You belong to AKB48. We have 58 regular members and close to 200 girls in the entire AKB family.” Mii-chan explained. “We will all help. We will tell Yuko about her past and I’m sure she will get her memories back.”
“But…”
“You love Yuko, right?”
Haruna looked at Mii-chan and nodded with conviction.
“Then you should fight.”
Haruna looked at Mii-chan and pondered about her words.

Atsuko walked into her dressing room and sat down on the chair.
It had been a long day of filming and she was glad that she had a short break right now.
She picked up her phone and scrolled through the messages that she had received. She closed her phone in disappointment when she realized that Minami did not send her a message.
After their phone conversation this morning, she had thought that Minami would send her a message.
Atsuko rested her head on the table and sighed.
Everyone had thought of the two of them as a couple, but in reality, they were just really good friends. Atsuko didn’t know how to describe her feelings for the Team A captain, but she just knew that when Minami was not next to her, she would miss her a lot. She was the happiest when Minami was next to her. She felt comfortable and at ease.
Before the accident, Yuko had encouraged her a few times to be honest with Minami about her feelings. But Atsuko didn’t know how to approach Minami with the topic, so she never told Minami about it.
Atsuko opened her phone again and scrolled to a message she had received from Minami after it was revealed that Atsuko would be debuting as a solo singer.

Haruna sat down by the window. The lights were off in the apartment and the only light illuminating the room was from the outside.
There were so many stars in the sky tonight. Haruna knew that if Yuko was here, she would be so happy. Yuko loved to watch the stars.
“Nee nee, Nyan Nyan. Look!” Yuko walked over to the window and pointed to the night sky. “There are so many stars in the sky tonight!”
Haruna chuckled at the excitement of her girlfriend and nodded. “Hmm. It’s so beautiful.”
Haruna walked behind Yuko and wrapped her arms around the shorter girl. Yuko leaned back into Haruna and sighed in content. Their bodies fit so perfectly together.
“It’s so rare to see so many stars in Tokyo.” Haruna looked at the stars and commented.
“Well, today is a special day, so kami-sama decided to give us a beautiful night to celebrate.”
“A special day? What kind of special day?”
“You don’t know?” Yuko pouted slightly. “Today is our 1 month anniversary!”
“Oh, has it been 1 month already?”
“Nyan Nyan…” Yuko turned around in surprised and whined. “You don’t remember?”
Haruna laughed. “I’m just kidding. Of course, I remember. How could I forget the day that changed my life?”
“Do I have that much impact?”
“You have no idea!” Haruna poked Yuko’s dimple softly with her finger. “That was the day I finally admitted to myself that I had fallen for a perverted squirrel.”
“How could you not love me?” Yuko grinned. “I’m just very lovable!”
“And you seem to like to spread your love around, too.” Haruna grumbled when she remembered how Yuko liked to touch and kiss the other members before they had gotten together.
Yuko turned and looked at Haruna. “Were you jealous?”
“Of course not!”
“You were so jealous! You were just in denial!”
“I was not.” Haruna pouted and Yuko laughed.
“Don’t worry, Nyan Nyan. You are the only person I want to kiss and touch.” Yuko reached back and ran her hand down Haruna’s leg.
Haruna slapped Yuko’s hand away from her body. “Yuko!”
Yuko laughed and the two turned their attention back to the starry night.
“The stars are so pretty.” Haruna said softly. “You can’t help but smile when you are looking at them.”
“When we are working separately and can’t see each other, I’m going to take a picture of the night sky and send it to you.”
“Why?”
“Because no matter what happens, I always want to see Haruna smile.” Yuko answered. “I promise you, Haruna. One day, I’m going to take you to Okinawa. We can sit on the beach and watch the stars together.”
Haruna kissed Yuko’s cheek softly and nodded. “Hmm.”
Haruna opened her phone and selected a folder called ‘Stars’. She scrolled through the different pictures of the starry sky that Yuko had sent to her.
She looked back up at the sky and smiled. Yuko wanted her to be happy and had always tried so hard to fight for their love. So, she was not going to give up on Yuko and their love.
Tomorrow, she would go to the hospital and have a talk with Yuko.

What Haruna said stood out for me since so far in all of the chapters, there doesn't seem to be something so alarming with how Haruna treated Yuko other than the usual. It's quite the opposite especially with KojiYuu's sweet memories in chapter 4
