^The last auditions were for the 12th generation (or 'batch' :lol:) of AKB48 kenkyuusei.
This girl was added a little bit later and through a different audition... so rather than calling her a '13th generation member' they opted for 12 and a half.

I'm intrigued for a few reasons. Right off the bat, she looks really, REALLY pretty. Sorry for being a guy on that one. :lol: But another aspect is... what does she have that AkiP sees? Is is a genuine talent seen in the audition, or does he just think she's a diamond in the rough? It'll be interesting to see. I'll just approach it like I do everything else with AKB now, I'll have an open mind and see what happens. I'd prefer if she doesn't take over Team 4 though. Who knows what'll happen. He always thought Oku Manami was an ace(lol wtf), but they never pushed her to a major degree after it was horribly obvious fans were never gonna go for her. Still, she's no Oku for sure.

The internet's going crazy: does she even exist? Is she real? :lol:
Allow me to summarize:
1. Her name.
Her name too is funny. You release a magazine after Acchan wins senbatsu, you take the sentence "Maeda Atsuko is Number One", and in Japanese shorten this - Mae.Atu.Ga.Ichii - and you shuffle it around a little, and you get Egu.Chi.Ai.Mi. So then, you take this name, Eguchi Aimi, and you take out G C I, and A M.
Shuffle this around, and you get I AM CG.
2. The girl in the NMB48 may not be her. They look nothing alike.

On the right side of this image, she basically has sideburns that shadow is so black. The shading around her fringe is pretty odd looking AND she has skin colour inside the eye on that side(at the bottom)
There are other bits and bobs but those are the most obvious 'altering' edits(not quite sure what to call it)
I've also noticed her earlobes aren't entirely consistent.

Though I didn't expect her as a whole to be fake/for advertising- I just thought she looked very strange and it was odd she was getting so pushed straight off the bat...

Her hair looked too glossy and dyed/like a wig compaired to other members photos I'd seen- I mean, if she got that much photoshopping and dyed hair, why weren't other AKB48 members looking so perfect and glossy?? XD
And now that I look at her up close (on that glico site link that Barrie posted with the photos of her moving around) I'm spotting Tomochin's nose when I first see her fly past and on close inspection her eyes are very similar to Acchan's.... Hmmm > w <;

Also the Eguchi in the CM is absolutly fake.
Look how much the other members are moving their heads in comparison to hers.
And at the end her face is a fixed image (except the wink, it reminds me of the images in the Persona game series).
On a few photos her face is much to asymmetric to be real and so on.
If SHE's real I have to overthink my whole existence.
(In my opinion she isn't even pretty)

Yasushi Akimoto trollin' like a boss. It is quite obvious from the pictures that she is CG. Though I think its interesting that she is made up of features from the group's top members. Theoretically if she is real, she would be the perfect member (as far as looks go).

I'm glad that I've not been watching television so I haven't seen this. Though watching non-Japanese people fuck up pronouncing the language does amuse me. xD I agree, I don't want Western mainstream media anywhere near idol culture. Even with anime, it's "LOL tentacle porn and Pokeymanz," ignoring that there are a lot of great series and movies out there (and anime fans that bathe xD). I don’t like seeing Vee upset. I consider her a good friend and hate it when she’s mad at something or somebody.
HOWEVER…
When that anger is incited by some stupidity in our wotasphere – or at least having to do with our wotasphere – then I must admit I get a little tingly up and down my spine. Because if you get Vee riled up enough about idols and the idol world, she delivers some of the finest, most devastating rants I have ever witnessed. I may not always agree with her – or even know what she’s pissed about – but her rants always leave me cheering and wanting more at the end.
And so we come to her latest video blog entry, devoted to Eguchi Aimi and the reaction of the Western media to what they see as another example of “LOL Japan”. I wish more names were named and more precise examples given, but any longtime overseas wota knows the drill here and is probably as sick of it as Vee is. Myself, I’ve learned to shrug off this kind of stupidity – I guess a lifetime of “Bam! Pow! Comics Aren’t For Kids Anymore” bullshit has better inoculated me from the mainstram media’s usual displays of ignorance about any kind of geek culture.
Luckily, Vee is a lot less quiescent than me, and… Well, I don’t wanna spoil it. Go clickety click on the link and watch it if you haven’t already. Watch it once to be entertained and to laugh (I especially love the intermission music); then watch it a second time to feel your own sense of self-righteous anger kick in as the depth of Vee’s argument settles into you. Unless you’re getting a deep-throated hummer from Mayuyu, it’ll be the best twelve minutes you’ll be spending tonight.
