New story, new pairing, and new style
Maimi Yajima, underdog, underachiever, future champion.
Maimi was nervous over the deal that was made from her father’s bragging. She had to face the present champion in a catch weight match. She had been training for a match that would have given her a chance to gain a medal at lightweight. However, a late change gave her an opportunity to challenge the half middleweight champion.
She heard rumors about her background training in the streets of Tokyo and her father blocked her out of the outside distraction. The week leading up to the match, she sat down in the dojo with her father with textbooks on the side. He requested a week of leave every three months to train for the final preparations and this one presented her most difficult preparation.
Every kick had to be perfect, blocking had to be timed perfectly, and her mindset had no faults. Then, the day before the match, the routine was a light practice after attending school in two layers of sweats. She had dinner with her parents before going to sleep but she felt her adrenaline run through her body and it was going slower than usual.
“Maimi, are you excited?” Her mother came from behind handing her a glass of water.
“Yes, I’m sorry I can’t sleep yet.” Her mother grinned and punched her daughter’s arm.
“Don’t worry. I have confidence in you.” She grabbed Maimi’s hand and held it close to her head to murmur a prayer.
Maimi drank the glass of water and closed her eyes for the night. She had no dream of winning the match which was unusual for the night before and it concerned her when she woke up. The morning routine was altered because of the weather which was also weird for her. Her father confided that she wouldn’t have to worry and he drove her to the gym.
She walked into the locker room and locked eyes with her opponent. She had a size advantage over her which gave her the confidence to analyze her. She changed quickly in the stall and punched her hands together. She looked at her father and gave him a grin before heading off to the staging area. Her father walked over to the coaches’ holding area and looked over at her daughter.
Maimi walked up to the mat and bowed herself into the fighting area. She held up her two fists to her coach and replied back with two fists held up to her. The opponent walked into the gym with the crowd behind her, she blew kisses to the crowd before bowing herself in the area. The referee instructed them to walk into the middle and bowed to each other and the judges. Then, the bell rang to start the match and she held up her defense over her face.
Maimi saw the first low kick and swept it away causing the opponent to take a step to the side to balance her. Maimi delivered a shot to the thigh causing the leg to buckle but let her stand up to make her walk towards her. She connected with an ankle shot causing the feet to slip under her, the referee stepped in front of her to give her a chance to stand up.
The opponent faded and saw her right coming towards her. She threw the leg to the side and pounced on the opportunity with her left high kick to her jaw. Maimi heard a crack and saw her tumbling down to the floor. She saw the eyes glazed over and the referee called the match. She ran over to the coach and jumped on top of him. Her father held her head near him with her eyes bawling from the victory, her opponent was carted off for safety reason, and she accepted the medal in the locker room before leaving the gym.
A girl looked from the stands and she fell in love with her. She admired her as a spectator and being around her made the heart beat a million times per second. She held her letters in her bag and finally released them to her. She hid behind the crowd cheering her for her victory and it was confirmation of her love for Maimi.

Hmm, interesting start, Maimi sure can kick some ass! looking forward to more

@oddy Maimi will be the main character with others, the main thing is to guess the admirer
[1]
Yajima-san,
I hide in the corner waiting for you after your kickboxing training every day. Many people think you are unapproachable but I think you can talk to people easily and you are just funny to me. I watch you sometimes and heart beats faster than usual that I tend to run away to catch my breath. My name shall be a secret until I can admit to you my soul. I will be there for you tournament at the gym this Saturday. I hope you good luck!
-Secret Admirer
Maimi read each typed word diligently twice to the effect of her heart beating quicker. She folded the letter and placed it with the stack she had built over the past two weeks. She grew red with embarrassment after each reading but it always concerned her that someone had liked her. Maimi knew it was a girl that sent it to her but who was it? She couldn’t try to pinpoint anyone because of celebrity status.
She was a reserved girl with a muscular built until a first-round knockout gave her status among the school over a prominent opponent. Every person admires her strength after the match but it manifested to being a personal protector of the school. She tried to stay humble to everyone but with all the gifts, she had to take a few to cherish for herself. The girls developed a trust with her as they wanted to avoid any conflict with other schools but she knew they had to avoid a disappointment.
Maimi trained alone as usual with a punching bag, keeping her eyes on the bag, until she finished with her high kick that gave her status. She looked around for the girl but dedicated herself back to the training. It was special to see her train for tournaments because no one would see for a while until the day before the competition. She would appear in sweats and carried her bags up to her classes with no eye contact with anybody else. Unfortunately, her grades never matched her success on the mat.
It wasn’t that she had tutors but the time she dedicated to studying never seemed to develop into success. It was frustrating that she could fail despite her out of school success but luckily she gained an ally: Shimizu Saki.
Captain as she was known as wasn’t the most intelligent but she was the most relatable out of the senior class. She had a way to teach her pupils to achieve in their school work. She rarely was hard on them but gave them enough encouragement to keep them connected with her. Maimi’s first visit presented an awkward situation when she came fifteen minutes later than usual because of her bad training day where her first strike to the bag led her to slipping on the mat and landing hard on her hip. Then, she fell one more time after misplacing with footing causing her to quit prematurely.
Captain noticed the limp in her leg as she bowed to her and apologized to her profusely. The older girl noticed her attention span was quite small compared to the others which probably caused the slipping grades in the first place but she led on with constant attention to her work. However, one day after the second letter had arrived; Maimi was still in awe that someone had left notes for her but it concerned her a bit and came in deflated for the first time after she gained her status that she needed advice.
“Captain… has anyone sent you a letter?” She nodded.
“I mean like from a secret admirer.” Her eyes shot straight to Maimi and hesitantly shook her head.
“I’m not surprised that you have one but you can’t let it distract you.” She warned as Maimi understood her words.
“I was just curious; it isn’t too bad to think about it.” Maimi’s half smile had changed the mood of the room but she was now in full thought that she was scribbling stuff that was incoherent and prompted Captain to send her home.
Maimi wasn’t angry that she did send her home but for the first time, she had the urge to concentrate on her work, it felt unusual that she wanted to succeed at all costs. The next month, she didn’t have to see her tutor as much as she had to but a few impromptu visits created new scenery for Maimi away from the usual study places. As test season came up, it was common to see her with Captain, and she managed to succeed in the tests. Maimi presented her gratitude in offering her tickets to the tournament, which Captain had no interest in but accepted it as a gift from her pupil.
However, the tournament wasn’t her only concern but the image of her admirer started to pop up everywhere when she passed through everyone in the halls. It only made her baffled that a girl had written to her but who it was, only drew more questions than answers. Then an idea came into her mind, she would write back secretly to another to expose the true face of her admirer.

Awww, is it Airi?
Well, anyway, lookin for more.
Wow, my first comment here, on H!P fanfics, hehe
-
Ohh, seems as though Maimi is kinda surprised to have a secret admirer even though Capatain tells her that its not surprising.....
Even though she does not know who it is , Maimi seems to be getting distracted by this person, and now it seems she has a plan to try and bring her secret admire out, so she is not so secret anymore.....
-
@sakura welcome, I hope you have read the others and comment on theirs too and I have noticed yours are interesting too keep up the good work
@oddy Captain takes it on as something to a psychological effect and tries to downplay the effect although the secret can be exposed anytime :)
[2]
Dear Admirer,
I would like to thank you for your letters of encouragement but I want to know you. It does feel creepy you watch me train because of this admission I get distracted a lot. I hope you can see me in the tournaments and not be a spy for an opponent. Whoever you are, please show me your face so I can treat you with the same respect as I do for others. If you can do that for me, I will be at my happiest.
-Concerned girl
Maimi slipped the letter absentmindedly into the locker right of hers. She never knew who it was but she had to wait until next week as she was five days away from a tournament. She packed up her books and waited outside for her tutor to finish her classes. Maimi stood upright with the slight breeze blowing her forward while the shorter girl walked from the dust.
“Sorry, I’m late. Shall we take the bus to the dojo?” Maimi shook her head.
“Do you mind we walk?” Captain’s eyes blew up thinking that they would need to walk two miles to the dojo.
“I prefer to take the bus.” She paused and then she realized Maimi had something on her mind.
“I think we need to talk to your sensei. He understands that you are having trouble in school so I hope he doesn’t mind we come in later than usual.” Captain suggested to Maimi as she took out her phone to call her sensei.
Captain was unfamiliar to a conversation between Maimi and her sensei. Maimi resisted in pleading the truth but the sensei kept the conversation going by reversing the tables on her about training but school was weighing on her until she gave up in convincing him. She squatted down and held her fist down onto the pavement. She lifted it up ready to deliver a blow but slowly lowered it down. Maimi looked up to her tutor and wiped the tears away from her face.
“Let’s go to the library and we can rent out a study room.” Maimi pursued forward while the tutor held up the rear.
The two didn’t speak to each other for the trip to the library until they asked for the keys to the room where they each had to write their names on the log. They marched up the stairs and into the room where Maimi vented out her frustration by throwing her bag against the wall. The tutor rarely seen Maimi frustrated, even in matches she held up a defense that many could not penetrate through. It was officially an uphill battle about her personal life.
Captain took an initiative to calm her down before they would go into any discussions. She grabbed Maimi’s phone and turned it off to assist in adding more fuel to the fire. Maimi sat there pounding the table with Captain soothing her back until she could gain back her composure. Captain knew too much to throw away a practice session but it was something to make Maimi understand the situation.
“Okay, it seems like it could be a tactic.” Maimi shot her head up.
“You mean…” Captain nodded.
“We have to say that whoever she is, will play a mind game to make you lose. We will combat the problem for the rest of the week. I am curious though… why did you have an outburst over staying away from the dojo.” Maimi wiped away her tears and took a calming breath.
“My father doesn’t like the fact that I am getting recognized at school. He saw me once talk to a classmate and he threw her aside to just lecture me about friendship. School is more for discipline of the mind and soul, never a path of gaining relationships.” Captain understood why her father felt that way and she had to agree to it for the reason she stated before but she had a feeling that the only way to prove it was wrong was through what the girls saw her as a hero.
“Okay, we will spend an hour here. I will face your father to tell him about the emergency meeting, if he does understand, we will meet each other tomorrow here to explain further about this situation.” Maimi nodded and took out her math book to start on her homework.
Maimi breezed through it with little assistance but it had taken most of the time. Captain and Maimi returned the keys and waited at the bus stop for the next bus but a dark car pulled in front of them. The windows rolled down and it was Maimi’s dad with sunglasses on despite being late evening. He lowered his glasses and he was wearing an eye patch over his right eye. He smiled and invited them into the car.
“Gomen.” Maimi nodded to her father.
“I should be sorry. Your mother heard the conversation and when I hung up, she gave me a lecture about how I was nervous to ask her out on a date. It was the reason for the eye patch. She likes to exert a little energy about Maimi’s happiness.” Captain smiled nervously as she wondered how she got her strength.
“I just needed to study for a test next week.” He nodded as he looked for a safe location to drop her off.
After dropping her off, Maimi held onto her bag feeling the sweat roll down her head as the letter seemed to fill her head but the faceless girl was drilling into her consciousness. Her father looked at her every chance she had during the drive and he couldn’t seem to release the image of her little girl. He looked back on the road and pushed the breaks to stop short of the car in front of him.
“Sorry, can we talk instead of practice today?” Her father drove into the parking lot and placed his hand on her head.
“I love you as my daughter and I felt protecting yourself was my number one concern. Your mother was strong with her fists but she always told me that she liked me because I was more feminine than her.” Maimi giggled.
“I want you to live your life as best as you want to, if it is a boy, let me know.” Maimi hesitantly shook her head.
“Let me train until I lose.” Her words were the dagger to her father’s heart but he understood and she walked up to the dojo with her mind free of concerns.
-
Hmm, so Maimi wants to know who this admirer is, I wonder though if that letter will really work?
And t seems as though Maimi's father is not to keen on the relationships that Maimi might get at school....
-
Awww, is it Airi?
we'll see but don't be shocked if the pairing doesn't come out like that, because I roll that way 8)
@oddy: the letter(s) are the main part of the story which introduces the characters, I was considering more toward older characters (Ai, Risa, Reina, etc) but it would seem weird to make a chibi style fic (I rather deal with mature aspects than go into chibi style) As for her father, I could remember a story like that and it was meant to be comedic for her mother being stronger than the father in family matters which shows who has the "true" strength in the family
By saying this, the pairing could be well-known or a one shot type of thing, now onto part 3
[3]
Dear concerned girl,
I am sorry to inform you are mistaken. I am not your secret admirer but if you can relay a message to the one I do love, I want to tell her that she is beautiful without forcing her own personality on people. She is cool in public but I want to see in private one day as we can meet each other face to face instead through a window in a classroom. I only want that, she is three lockers to the right of me, and her name is Momoko. I like her a lot and I hope you can find yours en route in helping me.
-Afraid of a peach
Maasa Sudo pushed through the slot of the locker right of her and walked toward her next class. She was ridiculed for her size and always was conscious about people around her despite having the aura of a bully. Maa-chan as she was usually called by her few choice friends liked to study alone. She never fond of studying with others as they were distracting to her but it hurt being alone.
Momoko Tsugunaga was the total opposite and the outgoing personality brought friends and enemies alike. Her friends liked that she treats them to lunch or snacks but her enemies were sick of her peppy attitude. She always tried to remain cheerful but it stung that no one could acknowledge her hunger for love. She never did admit to herself that she needed someone but she kept the thoughts that someone would take a chance.
Since Maimi was in the midst of training, the school was quieter than usual as they kept the students within the classrooms for studying. Momo was the next person to involve the noise of the school with many pending fights to shut her up or ruin her attitude towards everyone. Unluckily, she had a fight on the horizon with a Nakamura Shizuko, an older girl who despised the peach’s peppiness.
Shizuko called out the peach in the middle of the hall for being an annoying girl to everyone and wanted to ruin her day with a bruise that could destroy her. Maasa overheard the conversation and her hand closed into a fist as she calculated Shizuko before leaving for her next class. The whole time she watched the clock tick down to the fight and stood in the crowd overlooking the school grounds.
Momo took center stage with the crowd rowing in size until Shizuko and her group surrounded the peach. The four girls encompassed the peach as the girl looked towards her with a killer’s intent. Maasa crept up closer to see the fight and as usual the bully makes the speech to intimidate the weaker person. Shizuko pushed her around to the other girls while she laughed at her enemy. Within five minutes the speech was over and she held her hand high ready to put it down onto the peach. Then, the crowd roared when Maasa dropped her bag and grabbed her arm.
“Do we have someone protecting the princess from getting pounded?” Shizuko asked Maasa as she held the wrist of the attacker.
“Yes, because you cannot beat someone up for being happy all the time.” Maasa couldn’t believe the words but she kept confident.
“I guess so but now you shall take my wrath.” She lowered the arm and threw a punch straight at her barely passing her cheek.
Maasa countered with a punch that was easily dodged and Shizuko saw her opening but Maasa caught her mouth with an elbow. The blood was flowing from the lip after the elbow got her. Shizuko took a step back and came with another punch and it came up short with the base of the hand coming toward the nose causing Shizuko to cry. The older woman fell to her knees as she held her nose. Blood was trickling down two places as she told the rest to attack Maasa but no one came to her rescue and ran away instead leaving their boss high and dry.
“Stupid girls.” She commented and Maasa picked her up from the ground.
“Don’t pick on Momo again.” Maasa warned as she took her bag and started on her way home.
Momo was glad someone had protected her but Maasa was now on Momo’s list to fear but she trailed her home to observe her path home. The peach crept quietly over the bridges until she got to a townhouse where Maasa had entered from the front and never noticed her crush had been following her home. Momo began thinking about how to repay her and the thought of asking her to hang out was now in play.
The peach walked up and rang the doorbell. Maasa answered when she saw Momo waving to her, she bowed down, and let herself in. Momo went back to her usual self curiously looking around her house for anything unique and admiring her interior. Maasa was nervous in letting her inside with no one else home but when Momo went straight to her room, Maasa panicked over the arrangement.
“Your room is nice.” Momo commented.
“Thanks, I guess you should…” Momo turned and pouted as Momo flung herself towards her savior.
“I want to thank you for standing up for me, no one does that. I want to repay you by having a snack on me.” Maasa shook her head.
“I need to pay you back somehow, I cannot let this good deed go unforgiven.” Maasa smiled and denied the offer.
Momo moved in closer pleading her offer and landed on top of Maasa on the bed with Maasa’s hands around the peach’s body. Momo scooted up towards her lips and gave her a peck as a thank you but Momo gave her one more kiss longer than the last one to thank her again. Maasa was shocked that anyone would give her a kiss, to make matters worse, it was from her crush that she just save off of pure will and her admiration of the peach.
-
Yay!! MaaMomo FTW!!!
-
Aww MaaMomo is always good, Poor Massa writing a letter to help pass on the info that she likes Momo..... hmm think beating up those bullies was a better way of doing it, seems as though Momo might have something for Maa too.....
-
@sakura yes it is, although the pairing is still foreign to me in imagining them
@oddy She needed to prove her dedication and will it work?
[4]
Dear Afraid of a peach,
I have the same concerns too. However, I have told her my intentions but she is always with the tall athlete. I don’t think she likes her but I want her to know that I do like her. If she can be with me once, I will be happy but I am a selfish person. I want to know if you can help me, whoever you are. If I find you walking by, I shall use my power and your power to help me gain my girl. I also want you to know that I am not a bad person, just wanting to leave soon from my past.
Love,
Summer colored sunshine
Miyabi Natsuyaki slipped the envelope into the locker to the right of her before the bell rang before her third class. She held her books like a normal student but she had an evil past that she wanted to leave for a long time. She was the secretary to a local gang and she had been hiding out in a basement for the past two weeks. She was aware of the people in school and many were connected with the gang which made her concern for her life.
She was the most persuasive of the people to let her stay with other classmates but only one had given her a place to hide. Her neighbor, Risako Sugaya, was introverted and two year younger than her but she was the only friend she could confide with. Miya had asked if she could sleepover when her parents had to go on a trip, which was a lie but her parents were out most of the night. Rii-chan as she was known as helped her to hide until a few days later when Miya’s parents had asked her to come back.
Early the next morning, she ran to an abandon apartment near the school and unloaded her items into the room. It was ill-smelling but the running water was a plus for her. She lived in the dark for a few days before the landlord kicked her out and ran to the basement of an abandon house which had no luxuries. She used the women’s locker room to wash off before school and it gave her a little bit of comfort.
She sat down in the middle of the classroom with her glasses on and the teacher writing up the topic for math class. The lectures were long and boring but she had to concentrate to get herself back into a normal society. Her head heavy with thoughts lulled her to close her eyes and woke up with five minutes left on the clock. She managed to write down whatever was left and she heard the bell ring for the end of class.
“Natsuyaki-san, can you stay for a while?” Her teacher called out to her and Miya closed the door to gain privacy.
“I know you are coming back to school but you need to stay up.” The girl nodded.
“I know but I have been just trying to gain back my normal schedule.” She explained as she opened up her file.
“Well, we can meet with your parents to help you gain the normalcy back.” Miya held her hand on the page.
“My parents won’t be of any help, they were the ones to lead me down the dark path. If it wasn’t for a neighbor, I would have been doing the stupid things from before.” The teacher gave a short nod and closed the book.
“Well in these situations, parents would be helpful, and I will meet with them soon on your transition based on school rules but if you don’t want to be with us at the meeting, it can be arranged to split up between you and them.” Miya thought about the meetings and gave her confirmation.
“Go to lunch.” The teacher released her from the room and saw Rii-chan across the hall.
Risako smirked at Miya as she strides towards her and meet up with the elder girl. They headed to the vending machine to buy their usual veggie chips before heading to the roof to have a chat. Miya observed her neighbor a little jittery than usual but never pointed it out until Risako ripped her bag open to spill the contents.
“Rii, tell me what’s wrong?” Miya asked as she shared her chips with her.
“It’s nothing.” Risako pushed the bag away and left Miya guilty with a full bag of chips and she slipped it into her bag.
“Just tell me, you have told me everything, especially your period which irritated the hell out of me that you were happy for it.” Risako presented a grin and she sat closer than usual to her.
“I always wondered how it feels without a chest.” Miya titled her head. “I mean I have an abnormal-sized chest and I want to try dieting to lower my chest size.” Miya giggled as she punched her playfully.
“You got me worried for a second there… my only question is why?” Risako breathed slowly and looked back at Miya.
“Umm, I just want to have people stare less at me. Ever since you decided to go with the gang full time, I have seen everything grow exponentially bigger that my classmates think I have been getting implants.” Miya frowned as she let her head lean on the shoulder.
“We all mature differently and if you want to diet, you can but it won’t change your chest size by a lot.” The younger girl put her head down.
Risako cried over the realization but Miya lifted her head up and wiped her tears away. She poked her on the cheek to cheer her up but it was non-effective. So, she faced her and held her hands on the younger girl’s face. Risako stared at her as she embraced her.
“Calm down, I wish I had a chest to show off but it doesn’t hurt me because my body is something I have to deal with and you should too. Maybe, there is someone who likes you for who you are; maybe she can confess her love to you.” Risako slapped her as she smiled.
“I hate you. You have someone.” Miya stopped her.
“I don’t have anyone to be with me all the time. I want someone too. Maybe, we can go to the mall to get some clothes that makes you feel better, ne.” Risako nodded and walked back down for the next class. Miya, on the other hand, had more issues as she saw a crony hanging outside of a classroom and took the long way to make her late for her next class.
-
Poor Miya, she has alot of problems other than just her love life dosn't she, I hope she can get back to a normal life, at least she has Risako there for her....

@oddy: makes it interesting to get a story along
[5]
Dear Summer colored sunshine,
Keep fighting don’t give up, despite everything she says show that you are the better person. Please confess everything to her as I watch from behind. I want to do everything I want to say but I feel ashamed to say it but the one I am in love with works at a convenient store. My parents wouldn’t be happy in my choice but she is sweet and considerate. I want to tell her everything about my parents, they wanted me to go to a high-end college prep school, but I chose an all-girls private school which angered them. I prove to them I can keep up with my work but they insist on sending me there to improve myself. I feel comfortable here but if I stand up to them one more time, I can achieve my stance and go to college soon enough.
-Scared Preppy Girl
Koha dropped off the letter to the locker next to hers as she ran off to see the convenience store girl many liked in general for her peppy attitude and good personality. Koha was keen to see that she held back her temper well and even the people who tend to anger others a lot, she kept her cool with them until they leave and a tongue sticks out playfully. She entered and waived to the cashier as usual but she wasn’t there to buy anything. Koha was nervous to talk to her especially when the nerves over takes her body.
She strolled to the cashier and placed her elbows on the counter to just stare at her for a moment unconsciously before the cashier pushed her off. Koha became startled over the push and saw the cashier signal her to go to the side as she prepared to load snacks onto the shelves.
“You come here often, ne.” Koha hid her grin and nodded to her.
“I want to ask why. My manager thinks you are doing something suspicious so I wanted to talk to you.” Koha tilted her head and kneel down next to her.
“I wanted… to say… I like you.” The cashier shook her and scoffed.
“That’s the first time someone has said that to me in a while with a sense of nerves. I guess you were stalking me here.” She let out a grand laugh as she folded the box edges down.
“I really do like you, I want you to accept my confession.” The cashier shook her head again and tossed the box over the counter.
“If you want me to accept your confession, I have a challenge for you.” Koha nodded quickly and soon found herself in the freezer with the cashier.
The challenge was merely simple; she had to survive the cold for a few minutes with the cashier’s evil side. The cashier posed like she was in front of a mirror, saying irritating things to Koha that would make any other girl run away swiftly but Koha just shivered and smiled at the cashier.
“Sayu is cute, ne?” Koha shook every time she said it until Sayu dragged Koha out and slammed her onto the door.
In her frustration, she pressed her lips upon the girl’s and kept still until Koha pushed her away. Sayu grinned at her and slipped her a piece of paper. She opened it up and it was the same quote she had said hundred times before except Koha giggled at it. Sayu walked back to her job and rung up the people in line before hanging up her apron to see Koha waiting for her.
“You waited for me… Shouldn’t you be going home?” Sayu asked.
“I will but I wanted to walk home with you.” Koha said with a smile as Sayu took a few steps forward.
Sayu was impressed with her determination but internally it gave her a dreaded feeling of past people who were initially interested and they ran away as soon as it got serious. The bunny hated that feeling to the point that tests would be occasionally set to test their determination but she had an instant connection with her. Sayu led her companion by a few steps calmly looking back every so often seeing Koha matching strides with her. Then, at a corner, she turned to face her only to lean back toward the street.
“Sayumi!” Koha yelled as she grabbed her hands and clamped her arms around her.
“You really care for me.” She scoffed as the light turned.
Koha felt her heart crack as Sayu led the way but she cared too much to dump her and she needed to prove it to her until she gets her message. After the incident, Koha ran by her and halted her progress to face the bunny. She held her hand up and slapped it across the bunny’s face. Sayu placed her hand on the bruise as she saw a determination rarely seen by her. Then, it finally came to her that Koha wasn’t going to abandon her, she would be all in if it takes saving her a million times.
“I hate you because you are not like the rest. You did that like I was your child and I guess if it means a lot to you, I will accept your heart. However, if you do leave me, I will punish you to the highest extent vested in me.” Sayu’s seriousness quickly turned into a smile as Sayu led the way until they arrived at an apartment building where they bid each other farewell.
Koha was ecstatic that Sayu had changed. She felt that once before as a child to a young boy, she was shot down, and went into a deep depression but a harsh slap and a speech later, she had become hardened to find someone to give her heart to and she hoped that it could continue for a long time.

Well nice to see at least one person is taking a slightly more direct approach to things....

@oddy Koha has that feel to it :nervous

Dear Scared preppy girl,
Your pain is my pain. I want you to see my pain as Maimi walks out every so often and she comes back like she doesn’t notice me. I was her closest friend and we always held each other’s hands when we went home. She liked me to come to kickboxing class too and then she told me that she had to transfer because of her parents. I begged my parents to let me transfer too despite our financial issues and when I saw her, she had changed because of her father. I felt betrayed but I can’t blame her. I still Maimi as the girl I fell in love with and now I need to win her back.
-Winning back a friend
Mano Erina reread her letter and threw it into the trash as the feelings came rushing back again. Mano-chan was rarely depressed but the sensitive subject of Maimi always brought back incredible memories of their elementary school days. Maimi was out of place among her classmates. She was slow in catching onto things and was made fun of after weird haircuts done by her father. But, she could take it in stride because of Mano.
During their time together, they had developed a sense of reliability with each other. Mano was Maimi’s tutor and Maimi had become the protector for her friend. She never used her strength against anyone, which was symbol of her discipline but boys were the main concern. After a day of playing in the park, they decided to visit the convenience store for snacks but they ran into a group of boys a few years older than them.
They demanded money but Maimi resisted as a friend would do despite Mano-chan willingness to give up. One of them flipped her skirt up and Maimi sprang into action by giving him a swift kick into his privates. As he fell over, the leader charged towards them and tripped over a rock into the medal pole. He grabbed his shoulder crying in pain as they both escaped without any harm. Later that night, the boy had visited Maimi to apologize and she realized that it was the sensei’s son. She returned an apology for hurting his son but refused to accept it as the son was at fault.
Then, Maimi was forced to move which devastated her. Their last meeting ended horribly as Maimi had to rid of Mano-chan’s presence as she building herself to become a champion whom she had supported but the lingering feelings made her a distraction. She knew Maimi wasn’t going to break it off easily but she seemed to be convinced that it was for her to not become Maimi’s vice.
After the meeting, she had drowned herself in misery by sitting at the edge of roof of the school building. No person would go near her and she always wondered if someone had visited her. She felt the wind breezing by as everyone walked home and it gave her time to reflect over her life. One day, her body was being pushed by the wind as an indicator of what she should do next but a hand interrupted the proceedings.
“Don’t commit suicide; your friends would miss you too much.” The squeaky voice entered into her ears and she shook her head.
“I cannot live without my best friend; she left me to pursue her dream.” The girl shook her head.
“No person will ever do that. Love continues on forever. She must be thinking of you through every obstacle she is facing. She never will give up because you are there with her.” Mano smiled as she turned to see the peach inches from her.
“I want her to be happy even if it makes me depressed.” Momo slapped her on the cheek.
“I want a smile from you.” Mano cracked a smile towards her and then she saw a figure by the door.
Mano-chan ran towards her as she escaped to go down the stairs and eventually seeing she stumbled onto the floor. She tried crawling before Mano could stop her. The girl had glasses on and seemed intimidated by her as she curled up protecting her from any abuse. Mano lent her a hand so she could stand up and looked at her with tears slowly crawling from her eyes.
“Gomen, I was wondering if anyone was up on the roof.” Erina patted her on the shoulder.
“Don’t worry; I just wanted to know your name.” She took a few steps backward to prepare an introduction.
“My name is Kikkawa Yuu; I just transferred her from Ibaraki prefecture. I was afraid that many don’t like new students so I tend to look around when no one is present but I am sorry for butting into the conversation.” Mano smiled and tried to relax her.
“Nice, I am Mano Erina. I moved from Saitama but originally from Kanagawa.” She bowed towards Yuu.
“Wow, I guess I shouldn’t feel bad about moving. My parents had been transferred her for work. How about you?” Her stomach knotted as she didn’t want to say she was following a childhood friend but the excuses weren’t functioning until Momo butted in.
“Her parents were transferred here too, right Mano-chan.” She hesitantly nodded as the excuse seemed to satisfy the transfer student.
Kikkawa ran away to another room as Momo winked at her for a lie that seemed obvious but the truth in her heart was eating her quickly. She felt like vomiting and ran into the bathroom to only see the toilet water giving her a reflection of her face. Maimi would have done the same if they switched roles and she felt compelled to finally feel confident that she could move on despite Maimi leaving a string of hope for them. She rushed out and drunk some water before heading out to the hallway where she saw someone slipping a letter in Maimi’s locker.
“Who is that?” She asked as no one was there to answer and the knot started up again except she was in a bad mood to keep it all in.
-
Poor Manochan, she has had to endure alot without Maimi, but it seems as though she is not as alone as she might think..... and she sees a girl slipping a letter into Maimi's locker, has the secret admirer been revealed?

PLEASE, LET IT BE AIRI!!!

Maimi was days away from defending her championship against another opponent in a higher weight division. Her mind was cleared to enter into the match but in the furthest depth, she wondered who was her admirer and if she was someone who truly loved her or causing to lose the match. The thoughts slowly crawled to the front and she forced it back until she went into the shower.
She broke down trying to fight the frustration of whom she is and why is she doing it at such an important time. Then, she heard yelling at the door and quickly wrapped up to see what it was about. She peeked outside to see Mano-chan speaking to her father. He walked away from her vision and Mano-chan saw her at the door.
“I want to speak to you.” Mano said in a soft voice.
“Can it wait?” She shook her head.
“I want to know something right now.” Maimi let her into the room.
Mano felt the sweat run down her brow in the steamy room and took a seat on the bench as Maimi slipped on a t-shirt and shorts before meeting up with her friend. The elder girl’s throat dried up as Maimi wrapped her hair with a towel and she took a deep breath.
“What is it?”
“Someone has been dropping a note into your locker.” Maimi held up her hand.
“I know but if that is your only concern, please leave.” Mano looked down and agreed to her command.
Mano wished her good luck in her upcoming match and left the gym without saying anything more. She walked down the stairs and saw the janitor walking up past her. Mano assumed it was an older male but the floral scent caught her attention and looked up as she disappeared from sight. She disregarded her thoughts and decided to bus back home.
The janitor saw Maimi walking out of the locker room and greeted her as she was packing her bag. The janitor walked past the girl to get the cleaner and placed it on the floor as she usually would but this time she spoke to her as Maimi was wrapping up her bag packing.
“Hello, Yajima-san.” She bowed as she revealed her face to the light.
“Toku-chan, why are you here?” Her eyes widened as she saw Chinami in a janitor uniform.
“I clean up after you finish the gym, my uncle was janitor here but he had gotten sick weeks ago and I took over to gain some money from your father.” She smiled as she flipped her phone.
Her father explained that Chii was willing to do it for a discount for her uncle and it seemed right to let her do it otherwise it would be filthy when she practiced. Maimi closed her phone and let out a sigh as Chinami set up her pail and mop to clean the floor. Maimi waved goodbye to her and let her do her job. Chinami watched her go down the stairs before walking into the locker room. She opened the door to let the steam out from the room and checked if the truck left from the parking lot before digging through her uniform pile.
“Hmm, I guess she left this here to clean up, that is unusual for her.” Chinami said to herself before turning to see Maimi at the door.
“What are you doing?” She asked.
“I was looking for… the other mop head.” She lied as Maimi slyly smiled.
“I think we should have a talk.” She closed the door behind her and sat on the bench.
Maimi looked at her and put up her hands against the janitor. Chinami threw a straight right that she telegraphed and Maimi countered with a kick to her ribs that took her down to one knee. Chinami held her ribs paralyzed from the pain and waved her hand conceding the match. She kneels down and brought up her face to look into her eyes.
“My father will not let you train because that is the way he is. He doesn’t know you have a background in self-defense, at worst a beginner. I’m sorry that I had to kick you.” She patted her on the head.
“WAIT!” Chinami yelled as she tried to get up by leaning onto the bench.
“I only started because you won the belt and wanted to make myself better against bullies. I got sick of them beating me up so I wanted to protect myself.” Maimi nodded in agreement before she walked towards the door.
“I understand but you cannot train with me.” Chinami yelled out again.
“That wasn’t the reason why I got the job, it was…” Maimi moved in closer.
“Because I love you.” Chinami said in a soft voice.
“What? Say that again.”
“I love you.” She said in a higher tone.
Maimi froze as she heard the three words that haunted her and the letters came back as a raging river and ran out. Chinami took a few steps and stopped as she began to clean it as fast as she could without trying to concentrate on anything else. But, it was draining her out as she took a break to cry out most of her frustrations. Her mind went back to the first day that she dropped it off.
She felt nervous that she had gone through with it as she was an icon within the school and if she could take a few lessons it would benefit her but together they would be a fighting duo. However, Maimi encouraged doing it on their own without any explanation why she wouldn’t join anyone on a crusade. Chinami wanted to know why Maimi would never train with anyone else until she saw it for herself in disguise.
She saw the match that gave her the title and her stomach turned every which way until she was held in her father’s arms. The match gave her confidence that she should work hard to be next to Maimi in status but the one catch was the workout wore her out until she suffered from dehydration one day. She kept with the mindset until she offered to fight Maimi on the school grounds. Her father interfered and placed it in the gym with a mat.
She stepped onto the mat and heard the bell to the start the match. Maimi swung her right leg low and knocked her down to her knees. Chinami stood up quickly and the roundhouse came inches from her face. She countered with a right punch to her shoulder which was square but had no effect. The left came high and connected on her jaw which knocked her out. The nurse came to check if Chinami was alright and it wasn’t too serious and Chinami walked away with tears in her eyes.
Maimi consoled her about training and Chinami walked away without any more concerns. She refused to do anymore as it failed her until her uncle was sick and she went back to train for a bit but something in her mind made her think why she was willing to fight her. Then, the letter popped into her head and she wrote it out during one of her matches to slip it into the locker. It seemed to be the honest thing to do but after seeing her walk out her heart sank lower and wondered if she should appear or stay away from her victim.

Poor Mano, Maimi is being pretty cold with her, maybe Maimi has her reasons but it still hurts Mano, I hopeshe will be ok....

Maasa followed Momo after the fight back to her house. Maasa was hesitant to speak to the peach but Momo tended to look back quickly. Maasa inched up but Momo pulled forward until she stopped in front of her. She looked up and was impressed by the mansion in the middle of the city.
“Do you want to have a snack?” Momo asked as Maasa took off her shoes in the front.
The peach wrapped the apron over her school uniform and chopped up apples for both of them. Maasa was still in shock that the house was spacious and still felt warm for any guest. Then, she offered the pieces to her classmate and smiled at her.
“Is there something wrong?” Maasa asked as she took the first bite into the fresh apple.
“No, just wondering if you would do something for me.” Maasa placed the half-eaten piece onto the plate.
“What is it?”
“Would you mind being my bodyguard? I intend to pay you nicely.” Maasa gave her a quizzical look.
“Well… I helped you because…” Momo held out her hand.
“Don’t tell me you are only doing this one time.” Maasa shook her head quickly.
“I wanted you not to get hurt; people don’t understand that people are people.” Maasa paused as she tried to back track her words which made Momo giggle.
“I guess you are a protector but not a personal protector. I guess you deserve this.” Momo kissed her on the forehead and saw her chest land on Maasa’s plate.
Maasa pushed her back on her side of the counter and walked around to meet up with the peach. She lowered herself down to her height to give her kiss. Momo wrapped her arms around the girl’s neck and looked into her eyes. Momo pressed her face onto hers and Maasa fell onto the floor.
“I guess I am heavier than I thought.” Momo said out aloud and caused Maasa to scramble off the ground.
“No you are not.” Maasa was red with embarrassment and bowed to the peach.
Momo patted the younger girl on the head and realized her parents were coming home soon. She wrapped up the apple pieces and was run out as soon as possible. Maasa waved goodbye before turning her back to the house then her phone rang.
“Moshi moshi.”
“Ah, Maa-chan. I would like to thank you again for helping me. You are a true friend. Maybe we can hang out but still in private.” Momo took a deep breath giving Maasa time to talk.
“It’ll be fine but I like you.” Maasa waited patiently for an answer.
“I wish others are like you.” Momo admitted.
“I mean I have feelings for you.” Momo let out a laugh.
“If you confessed to me, I might as well say that it is mutual.” Maasa’s heart beat faster until she felt her body grown weak.
“Really? I mean can we become a couple?” Momo let out a sigh.
“I want to but we need to keep it hidden. However, I miss your lips already.” Maasa snickered.
Maasa blew a kiss to the phone and hung up without noticing the streetlight. A car came inched from her and she jumped back onto the corner. She flipped her phone again and saw a picture of Momo blowing a kiss to her. She giggled and lay on the ground as her body was recovering from the near accident.
Momo anxiously looked at the mirror and pondered over her weight as she remembered Maasa’s face from dropping her. She took a bite of her apple piece and closed her eyes as she began to think about Maasa. She never felt the feeling before but she didn’t want to show her vulnerability like the last time.
She had grown accustomed to boys asking her to go on group dates by her parents choosing but one stood out. He was gentle to her and as she began to build up her feelings, he disappeared from her. She waited a weekend for him to come back only to realize that he was gay and had a boyfriend who was as cute as he was. Momo was devastated that she fell in love with him and began a tirade in her room. Throughout her frustrations, she had seen the light that boys were no good and she kept silent about her preferences.
Momo was close to certain ones but they showed no interest beyond a simple greeting until Maasa came into her life. She was glad that someone was looking out for her but the feelings grew to the cautionary tale of the romance before and she hid her smile while looking at herself. However, it grew like a flower that Maasa maybe is the one for her and she had to let everything lay out before jumping into another relationship.

Thank you! :thumbup

Aww Momo and Massa, really sweet how they ended up getting their feelings across too, hopefully they will become more open about it too....

@sakura you're welcome and I notice you got perv access, enjoy there too
@oddy the dynamic of MaasaMomo always had me intrigued and always pondered if I used a fragile Momo to break down Maasa silent strength :nervous

Miya had the eerie feeling about the crony hanging outside and if she had her way, someone would be by her side but when she defected she took the problem upon her to be the lone wolf. For three years, she had fun cutting from school and doing petty things for her boss. But, the event that changed her views was the day they decided to pick on Rii.
She had been hanging outside of school as always and Risako popped out from the entrance approached by two guys. She knew it was her but they wouldn’t do anything rash to make her distraught, however she heard teasing coming from their mouths and came to the rescue. She stood in front of the younger girl and held her arms out, Risako ran away from them, and Miya was only left with two guys in front of her. Her boss saw what she had been doing and let her do what she pleased.
Hours later after work, the two blindsided her with baseball bats. She felt the pain of a bat hitting her body but never to the extent of being violated. Her fear brought on the boss to stop it but they were insistent and discovered the boss’ guards destroying their bodies with kicks and punches. The boss escorted her out of the alleyway and apologized for her involvement.
At that moment, she decided to step away to protect her friend. Despise the boss understanding her feelings; she was against Miya leaving without a beat down to appreciate her help. Miya was confident that she could find a way out of it and offered dirty money for exchange of the beat down but that ran dry soon enough leading to the observers around the school.
She left class early with the hope of escaping but the crony stopped her and escorted her to the playground where the boss had been sitting on the bench with her legs cross. Miya saw the bats in their hands knowing she was going to suffer without saying a word. She went on her knees and put her arms up and hands behind her head. The boss pause the start and looked into her eyes.
“I love that you don’t whine when you are about to receive punishment but it makes it boring so how about tying you up and fifty hits to your knees.” Miya lowered her arms and offered her wrists.
“You are not making this fun for anyone you know kid. Unless, we can find a way to torture you even more like the one you are protecting.” Miya stood up and stared at her.
“I am taking this because I wanted to run away. No one else should be responsible except for me. If you don’t think I can take this dutifully than you don’t respect me enough.” Miya said with determination to withstand everything coming at her.
“I don’t respect you because you are leaving but you don’t want to sacrifice the one thing that is precious to you.” Miya shook her head.
“You have a secret too. The source of your power and money.” She slapped Miya across the face in disgust.
“I get it, you won’t live down anything to protect her. I guess we can call it the ultimate sacrifice.” Miya agreed and resisted any force against them. They lifted their bats and one by one they landed on her body. The pain was less effective after the first few blows but every place was hit until they stopped in exhaustion.
Risako came running out of the crowd and saw her neighbor bloodied from head to toe. She called an ambulance as they watched over her slowly losing consciousness. The gang left without one word to their former member but Miya smiled at them for the work. The medical workers carried her off the bench and took her to the hospital to check out her injuries. Rii couldn’t watch as Miya smiled towards her.
The younger girl’s mind started to run with crazy thoughts about Miya and why she would take such a beating for something idiotic for the gang. As she waited in the room outside of surgery, a woman in a black sat by her, and began to think about her.
“You must be the one Miya’s protecting right?” She asked as Rii looked at her and was shocked.
“Yes, I am the one who saw everything , I was her gang leader. She suffered to every blow to her body without whimpering. No one has ever done that, not even I admit would ever do for a friend. She has someone special like you to watch over her.” The boss rubbed Rii’s head.
“I just want to know why.” Rii said under her voice as the boss grinned.
“Tradition, she knew tradition when anyone was going to leave for any reason. I’m sorry that you had to see her that way but Miya understood the rules.” She explained as she lent her a card.
“Anyways, she will be here for life as a true member. We will help her through everything and when she comes out give us the bill and we will pay for it as the last gift we give to her.” She winked and left the room.
Rii read through the messy card and read aloud the name Tanaka Reina. She knew the identity of the boss and she wanted to cap off the day with an arrest but hearing her words again, she knew that she didn’t want to trouble Miya anymore. Risako waited for a few more hours until a doctor came out with a half grin. She feared the worst news but the doctor confirmed a few broken bones but nothing more major.
However, she was sent home without having a chance to see her but she felt confident that she could survive this pain. Then, a voice entered her mind about Miya’s dedication to her and she welled up to thank her for accepting her as a friend.

Wow Miya took sych a beating for Rii, I hope she will be ok, Miya is pretty tough though doing it without wimpering....
Seems as though Rii does fully understand the scarafice that Miya made for her!

Sayu took a seat on the bench in the park next to Koha as she held out her phone to look for her friend’s phone number. It was an experience usually that would take a few second but with Koha she had hesitated for five minutes until she could hit the dial button. She held the phone to her ear and the loud voice slammed her hearing and moved it away so she could hear the message clearly.
Koha kept her attention away from the bunny but it seemed she was suffering from listening and scooted in near her to hear what it was about. Sayu closed the phone and smiled at her as she sneaked her hand next to hers. A few minutes later, two women approached the couple and waved towards Sayu as they gazed toward them.
“Is this your new friend? She looks cuter than the usual man you bring around.” The light colored hair woman joked.
“Hi, my name is Kamei Eri. Sayu must be hiding us from you.” The turtle looked toward the other woman while realizing the introduction embarrassed the bunny.
“Anyways, you want to drink tonight?” Sayu looked at Koha before shaking her head.
“C’mon Sayu we would like for you to hang with us. You make us look good at the bar.” Eri begged toward the bunny and she still refused.
The two looked dissatisfied at the bunny and left her with Koha as they head toward the city. Sayu glanced back at Koha and felt the grip feel tighter on her hand.
“I will only do this a few times but if you want to go through this without any problems, you will expect them to visit me. I will warn you that they will test you to the fullest extent and don’t let Eri’s aho personality fool you.” Koha nodded as Sayu led her out of the park.
The bunny guided Koha into the packing district before spinning back around and gave her a kiss on her lips. Koha grabbed onto her hands and let Sayu control the action. They pushed themselves onto a chain-linked fence feeling the light rain fall upon them. Sayu pulled back to Koha’s eyes were as wide as melons only to see a man with a knife in his hands.
Sayu stood in front of Koha as the guy lunged towards them. The male was about middle aged and his eyes were concentrating on Sayu as the edge was close enough to slice. The man stepped back and slipped as he stepped off the curve. The knife flew ten feet away from him and was broken by a passing car. The bunny stared at him wondering why he would attack her and began to notice who he was.
The man ran as fast as he could but didn’t notice the car coming around the corner. They closed their eyes as they walked away from the scene. Sayu was distraught that the street where she lived had been blocked off with the accident. The bunny looked at her limited resources and walked toward the love hotel but Koha chipped in enough to get them a room at a motel for the night.
Then, her phone rang as Eri and her friend were drunk from their trip to the bar and asked if they would stay at her place but Sayu explained that there was an accident and let them stay at the room. Koha hid her displeasure but welcomed them to stay. Sayu rented the room out to her name and had Koha stay in the room as the bunny waited for them.
The girl jumped onto the bed and closed her eyes after a long day of unusual circumstances. Then, the thought of Sayu entered into her mind and it began to stew to why Sayu had been unlucky in relationships. On the surface, it was great that she had a natural shield for strangers but she thought it had to be something that deters people from her. Koha was filled with crazy explanations and then she stepped out of the room to see the three women walking towards her.
“Koha, can you get a bucket of ice for us?” Sayu asked as the three entered the room.
The girl grabbed an empty aluminum bucket and filled it up from the machine. Eri blocked the door and stared at her as she grabbed the ice from her. She didn’t say anything and walked back to the room quietly. Koha shuffled back and heard loud noises from the room. She pressed her head onto the door and heard two voices controlling the conversation and opened the door to see Sayu sitting there silently.
“Girl… Sayu is not the person you believe her to be. She talks to the mirror and will disregard you because you are not as pretty as her.” The light-colored hair woman shouted towards her.
“Reina-chan, you are drunk and you are scaring her.” Sayu complained as Reina smiled at her.
“Why do you care?” Sayu’s eyes burned with rage and slapped the kitty across her face.
Koha stood near the door as Reina held her face over the bruise. Reina screamed at the bunny before leaving the room with Eri. Sayu ran towards Koha with tears running down her cheeks.
“I’m sorry you had to see this. If you solve my flaws, I would be happy.” Koha moved her toward the mirror.
“Say it.” Koha said happily as Sayu wiped the tears away.
“I’m cute.”
“Say it louder and be genki.”
“I’M CUTE!” Koha smirked as Sayu faced the mirror again.
“NO ONE IS CUTER THAN ME!!!!” She yelled out to the pleasure of Koha.
“Okay, I need to sleep. Thank you for letting me stay with you.” Koha said her final words before landing on the soft bed.

This...drinking thing... Somehow for me it was too cute, especially the ending    Maybe my sleepy head is showing things, dunno... But AWWWW... XD

Mano took a detour to a yakisoba shop to have something to eat but noticed she had forgotten her wallet at home and looked at the window.
“Don’t look sad, you can come here to eat.” The woman invited her in and sat down when she saw Yuu delivering a dish of hot noodles.
“Arigatou!” She yelled out and broke her chopsticks to dig into the food.
Erina paused as she looked at Yuu and offered the extra pair of chopsticks. Yuu refused and went to the occupied table to get them more noodles. The woman who invited her in took a seat next to the hungry girl and smiled at her.
“Is it good?” Mano-chan nodded.
“Oishiiii!” The woman put her hand on top of the girl’s.
“I must say Yuu-chan had been happy since she came home talking about a new girl she had met. I assume it was you because I never expected her to hand anyone the biggest, most expensive plate.” Mano choked up and dropped her chopsticks.
“Don’t worry. It is on me, because you became her first friend in a long while, I will trust you to keep her on a straight line.” Mano-chan nodded as she picked up her utensil to dig into the food again.
“I like her choice of friends. Unfortunately, we move often because of my husband’s job and she never can fully give up on them but I promise she will stay here until the end of the year. Her uncle and father used to work here as kids and ever since her uncle took over and made the noodles the same way, so I am surprised not too many come here. Maybe its old-fashioned but homemade noodles are much better than the ones at a convenient store.” Mano-chan nodded.
“I agree. If you don’t mind, I can invite people for parties.” She bowed towards her.
“Oh thank you.” Mano-chan lowered her chopsticks and bend lower than her mother.
“I just moved here not that long ago but I feel it might make a great atmosphere for a senior party.” Mano-chan looked around the restaurant and counted the spaces and confirmed her statement.
Yuu-chan observed the conversation and felt her heart drop as she did before and resisted to halt any progress by her mother. She removed her apron and hung it on the hook to end her shift. She walked to the front of the restaurant and flipped the sign over to close without looking at Mano-chan.
“Yuu-chan, your friend suggested they might have a party here, don’t you think it is nice?” She nodded slowly and looked back at Mano-chan.
She stood up and bowed out of the restaurant without making eye contact. Yuu followed her out and wrapped her from behind. Mano froze as she felt tears penetrate from the back of her uniform. Mano-chan pried the arms from her body and hugged her.
“If you think I don’t understand, you are wrong. I will keep you here as long as possible, your mother is nice and she is willing to sacrifice her time here to make you happy.” Yuu looked up with the tears shining in the moonlight.
“Thank you.” Yuu-chan waved goodbye as she headed back to the restaurant to clean up as Mano-chan headed home.
She walked under the street lights with the rain lightly falling against her face and closed her eyes. She took a few steps forward into a girl walking the other way. She opened her eyes to a fist a few centimeters from her face.
“I met you earlier.” She nodded.
“You are Maimi’s friend, correct?” Mano nodded.
“I… feel that you are a rival but why won’t you fight for her?” Mano smirked as she looked down on the pavement.
“Maimi-chan always has a place for people, she maybe a scatterbrain but she concentrates on the goal all the time. She wants to find love but she cannot admit to who she wants. However, if anyone does fall in love with her, I fear for heartbreak.” Chinami felt her stomach turn and breathed deeply.
“Is that why you gave up?” Mano shook her head.
“I gave up because Maimi will never realize how much I still love her and when she does recognize the effort I had put into it, she will regret it. My fear is that I will never see her happy with anyone, I wish she can have a person truly look into her personality.” Chii relinquished her frown.
“If I pursue her, will you stop me?” Mano-chan winked at her.
“Of course. She is still my friend and I will protect her from anybody until she says that she is okay but until then, we are rivals for her. As for the match, stay away from her sight, once she sees someone, she will lose all her concentration, and she will get exposed.” Chinami understood the warning and nodded her head.
“It’s getting late so we shall meet again.” Both waved goodbye as they went their separate ways but one only let out her tears as she took a confident look at her opponent and she hoped she can win… again.
-
Ohh, interesting, Mano and Chii meeting, seems as though they came to a little bit of an understanding though....
Yuu and Mano were kinda sweet to, it,s nice they are getting closer to each other....
-
@oddy: The Mano and Yuu thing was actually out of the blue but it was something that would match well in the story as they are the outsiders looking in and Yuu being a waitress was a nice addition to the story :nervous
@sakura: thnx for the support, I wish you can keep reading this despite the thing and for the other story, it will come around but conflict > fluff :nervous :nervous
[12]
The day of her match had arrived and she was restless over the concerns from her personal life. Her father watched intently as his daughter was losing sleep and let her rest on the trip to the arena. He wasn’t sure on how to approach the situation and had asked his wife for advice. He woke Maimi up and let her go to a private place to let her explain.
After a few minutes, Maimi felt refreshed and threw a punch at him to wake him from his daydream.
“I’m ready to go.” She informed him and he stopped her before entering the locker room.
“I need to know what is with the girl I hired to clean the gym.” Maimi gritted her teeth and walked back to the truck.
I guess I should tell him the truth.
“She is someone who likes me; she started to write to me anonymously at school. She is a good natured girl but I couldn’t let her train under you.” Her father smiled.
“You didn’t want a rival who was in love with you because if you beat her, it would hurt your chances right?” Maimi nodded.
Chinami will never win but what if she has potential, I cannot be thinking this.
She started to walk away before her father stopped her again.
“I think you should have considered how she is feeling now. I know that you are good but if she could produce a sparring partner that could benefit you, wouldn’t that help you in the long run?” Maimi nodded again.
“I guess so but…” He held up his finger.
“I know this will be the tail end of your career so accept her as an open invitation.” Maimi gave him a hug and carried her bag into the locker room.
The people were settling down in their seats. The school sat in the student section above the entrance of the champion. Momo dragged Maasa to the front where they had a view of the mat and gathered attention with her quirky dance to energize the crowd.
Mano-chan and Yuu were two rows above them as they observed the crowd with signs that were anti-Maimi but she acknowledged that she wouldn’t be bothered by the signs.
Captain sat on the outer edge of the section and started to lead a yell to encourage the section to cheer for their favorite student.
Rii sat at the top with her phone in hand getting updates from Miya while she returned with updates from the match.
The one who feared Maimi the most was outside with a dilemma and the ticket to enter was crumbled in her hand. She closed her eyes and held the ticket in her hand as Koha walked by her wondering what she was doing.
“Koha, do you know her?” Koha nodded.
“Chii, you should come inside and watch the fight, Maimi would appreciate if you join us.” Chinami’s throat felt dry, trying to find an excuse to not go in, but she just can’t be seen by her again.
“I will come in soon.” Her soft voice barely audible with the crowd noise amped up to the highest level cancelled out what she was saying.
She felt it was the last chance to finally give her support and she barged into the arena. The people were pumped for the match and took a seat next to Rii. Miya’s voice was loud and she started to cheer through the phone and the announcement popped up that her match was next.
Maimi got her wrists and ankles wrapped up and slipped on her gloves before shadowing the wall. Her opponent scoffed at her abilities and walked out of the room leaving father and daughter alone.
“I want to say good luck.” Her father said in a less confident voice.
“I don’t need luck, I have skills to win. I want to prove that I am worth defending my title.” He tried to smile but the nerves finally hit him and put on the sparring equipment.
He instructed her on what the opponent will be doing and she concentrated on getting the jabs down before coming in with kicks. Her first roundhouse almost caught him off guard and the pain struck him down to the floor as he let out a laugh.
“I think you have this in the bag.” The last confident words she needed to hear before the introductions.
The chance to win
Maimi anticipated the crowd noise. She could hear her classmates cheering. Her opponent’s fans booing. Then, the image of Chinami popped into her mind. She knew whatever the result was going to be, she had a supporter by her side. The letters were fuel to her fire to she is fighting for, it wasn’t only a school but one person who knew that she could be proud of.
The introductions were quick and their protective gear was in place as she stared into her eyes. She saw the fear as usual but she wasn’t intimidated by the stare down. They both approached the referee and touched gloves before leaving to their sides. The bell rung quickly and they both came at each other like hunters in the wild, slowly opening up their opponents.
Chinami felt a lump in her throat as Maimi started with a jab and a low kick to her shin. Rii started her report as the noise slowly died.
Momo yelled out Maimi’s name hundred times before Maasa pulled her in before she goes over the railing.
Mano and Yuu yelled out her name, getting the students pumped around them.
Koha and Sayu cheered but were also figuring who was who and took them a minute to determine which side Maimi was on.
Captain cupped her hands as she cheered on too and then the first blow by her opponent silent the crowd.
Maimi knew the right hook was coming towards her but the blind opportunity opened up her guard. She felt the punishment as soon as it contacted her but kept her stance as she countered with a combination. Then, an opening came and an uppercut put the crowd back into the match.
Her opponent took a step back and feigned to her left with the right high kick approaching barely missing her head. Maimi took a step back and calculated a punch to her ribs causing her to pause her breathing. She had no idea of the time in her head but the crowd indicated it was close to the end and as the bell rung a solid kick to the hip finished up her strikes.
Darn, I wish I had a little more time to finish.
The crowd went to a dead silence as the fighters took their breaks seriously and listened to their trainers for advice. Maimi heard the few words from his mouth before standing back up to start up the match again.
The bell rang for the second round and her opponent came with a left and contacted her squarely on the ear. She knew she was in trouble as the irritation started to get to her and she came with a complementary right which is avoided. Maimi threw a right straight but missed by inches and then in desperation she delivered a wild leg kick connecting with her shoulder.
Her opponent stepped to the side and winced at the blow but kept her hands up in defense. Maimi hit with another right to her ribs causing her to go onto one knee. Her opponent took two seconds to breathe and walked up to Maimi again but the surprising back fist landed and Maimi went down to one knee in a daze.
The crowd cranked up the noise and Maimi looked at the section where the students were. She could see blurry items but then her mind cancelled out the noise and saw Chinami at the top. She was hesitant but when she locked eyes, Chinami nodded and pointed towards her right hand.
I see it
Maimi got herself back up and lowered her head before tilting it to the right and hearing a mind-numbing crack from her neck and continued the fight.
She began to think what that message was as she avoided the major blows to her face and the opening presented itself. Maimi connected with a kick to her right side and took a step back to load up her leg. She stepped onto the mat slipping forward and the foot caught her chin.
Bingo!
Her opponent’s eyes rolled up and fell quickly to the floor. The referee blocked her way to view the fallen girl and within seconds she was declared the winner.
The section exploded with cheers but Maimi only looked at Chinami and gave her a wink. Chinami closed her eyes and broke down in tears.
Maimi was given the medal again for defending the title and looked at her father as she offered the medal to him for training her. She bowed towards him as she was given a pair of scissors. The crowd became silent as she faced her fallen opponent. Maimi bowed sharply to her as she nodded towards her father.
He placed a stool in the middle of the mat and was presented a scissors. She lowered the rubber band to give enough length to cut her hair and carefully placed the blade on her black hair before hearing the crunch. Her father finished the job and held up the pony tail in his hand.
The words were swirling around the arena. Maimi waved to her fans as she left the mat and looked at Chinami for the last time before entering the locker rooms.
I can finally be in peace
Chinami looked back at her and she knew it was over. Yajima Maimi had retired as champion.
-
Retired... Oh well.. What matters is what is best for Maimi, right? I loved this chapter! :) And I'll be waiting for conflict>fluff XD
-
Wow what a fight!!! and Maimi retires, going out in style is good I suppose, wonder where this will lead Maimi now however....
-
@sakura: What is best for her might not be what she thinks in the end
@oddy: we'll see :)

Momo and Maasa were as shocked as everyone to see Maimi step down in front of the crowd. The short-haired ex-champion bowed to everyone as the crowd was mixed with claps and crying. However, Momo had been at the top of the stairs and refused to watch Maimi walk away.
“Momo-chan, where are you going?” Maasa asked with a hint of concern in her voice.
“Dinner. I need to get back home for dinner, I will see you later.” Momo waived goodbye as Maasa looked back as the crowd slowly filtered out through the exits.
Maasa typed out a text to Momo as she looked around to her next destination. Her body was feeling the chill that was coming over during the early evening. She jogged over to the station to look for the next train back to the town and felt the vibration in her pocket.
Maa-chan,
We can meet tomorrow after breakfast.
Momochi <3
Maasa hid her smile from the crowd and her train came soon after. She saved the message in her inbox and closed her eyes. The ride was short but enough time to nap but the train came to a halt as she looked at the station and heard that there was a delay. She pouted that she would have to get off and get on another train but something caught her ear.
She ventured into the station and saw a woman struggling against a purse robber. She walked up to them and the robber drew his knife against both of them. Maasa held her hands up but saw her opportunity to help out the woman and knocked the weapon out of her hand. The robber took a step back and attempted a punch but was blocked immediately and countered with a palm to his chest.
“I give up. You win.” He ran away from the females and Maasa handed over her bag.
“Ouch, we need to send you to the hospital.” The woman responded as she saw the fresh cut on her shin.
She called an ambulance over to the train station as she relaxed on the bench while she wrapped a cloth over the wound. The woman sat down on the bench to rise up her leg and apply pressure on the wound.
“Thank you for helping me out. I was wondering why you were helping me though.” Maasa looked away and smiled.
“I just saw you in trouble, so I was willing to help, lucky for the train stopping at this station.” Both laughed as the woman applied more pressure than usual.
“What is your name?” The woman asked.
“Maasa.” She hesitated before the woman smiled.
“I am a registered nurse, the name is Niigaki Risa. I am sorry I don’t have a kit on me.” Maasa neglected her apology and a person came to clean up the wound.
She sat there with the man as Risa looked around for her ride on the street. Minutes later, she left with her friend and he was wrapping up a bandage on her lower leg. Her phone rang and heard her father yelling at her, she looked at the paramedic, and offered her phone to him. He had explained that she was in an accident mentioning Risa’s name a few time before hanging up.
“I will take you home. Your father has been informed so I think he understands but please don’t do anything rash again.” He warned as she climbed into the car and instructed the driver to her house.
Maasa sat quietly as the flashing lights of the city pass by her. She glanced at her bandage every other second as the pain was shooting from her legs and looked at the driver.
“I can give painkillers but you cannot walk on it for a while. So, if you have plans in the near future, the best thing is to bear the pain for now.” He warned as she sat deeper into her seat.
He approached the driveway with her father waiting outside; Maasa slowly walked out of the vehicle, and felt her father’s hug.
“I was scared when you didn’t come home and you didn’t answer your phone, so I began panicking until I heard you helped a woman from a robber. I thought you were seriously injured…” Maasa grinned.
“I’m okay. I’ll explain what happened and I ‘m sorry for worrying you.” Maasa and her father thanked the driver before entering the house.
Maasa didn’t leave out a detail of her adventure. Unfortunately, the trail back did leave her exhausted and laid her head on the couch and instantly knocked out.
The next morning she woke up to the realization it was 10:00 A.M. and rushed out to her house but looked around to see she wasn’t home. She flipped her phone and noticed new texts from her friend and limped back towards home until Momo had passed her in the family car. Maasa wanted to wave hi but noticed she wasn’t in the mood to do so and decided to go back home a rest.
In the afternoon, Maasa’s boredom was growing at such a high level that she closed her eyes for a while only to wake up that a few minutes had passed by. Then, she heard the doorbell and ran to see Momo with a small gift in her hands.
“Gomen ne. I was busy in the morning and I couldn’t get out of my obligations until now, I hope you forgive me.” Momo bowed towards her and Maasa brought her into the house.
Momo noticed the bandage and asked about it. Maasa was first hesitant but explained the situation which caused her to breakdown unexpectedly. She held her as it wasn’t serious but Momo started to blame herself for leaving her alone after the match but Maasa soon apologize for making her cry.
Since they were alone in the living room, they sat down to watch some television. Momo turned into Maasa and laid her head on her lap as she closed her eyes. Maasa looked at the adorable girl and woke her up to give her a kiss before walking away to use the bathroom. Momo looked at the TV and recognized the time but she didn’t want to leave Maasa again and waited for Maasa to come back from the bathroom.
However, when she did come back, Momo felt her feet weighing down by cement, and held her ground for ten minutes before unexpectedly blurting out her exit. Maasa tried to analyze the peach as she left but quickly removed it from her mind to keep her at peace.
-
Man Massa playing the hero, kinda cool but well done her, she is paying for it though!
Hmm, whats up with Momo though?
-
@oddy Momo is... scared. As the obvious running away happens in every chapter she is in :nervous maybe she'll get the nerves to face what is troubling her.
[14]
Risako couldn’t hold her excitement as she headed back to the hospital where Miya was currently healing up. She turned the corner and saw a gang outside the entrance.
Miya… I have to get in there quickly
She looked around the area and hid behind the ambulances as she ran toward the entrance and managed to avoid any contact with them but as she looked up a woman stared at her.
“There is no way she would fall for a girl. Her boyfriends treated her nicely yet she has feelings over a girl. Can you believe that?” Risako nervously smiled and walked toward the East wing where she was staying.
She was steps away from the room as her breathing became harder and she stood by the door as she heard singing. The soft singing was calming down her anxiety and she turned to Miya staring at the window with her eyes fixed on the bright moon.
Why can’t I just be in the same room as her? She has done a lot for me despite her own problems; I need to do something for her.
“Rii-chan, it’s not nice to make the patient wait.” Miya snared her attention and let her sit on the bed.
“Gomen ne, how are you feeling?” Rii asked without looking towards her direction.
“Still stings but at least I feel better out of the gang.” Miya grinned as she grabbed her and gave her a hug.
Miya let her tears run down hitting Risako’s shirt, the younger girl rested her head, and suddenly felt a jolt from her side. Miya released her embrace and watched her hold her side as she winced from the sharp pain.
“Let me call the doctor.” Miya grabbed her button but Risako knocked it out of her hand. She wanted to scream but something in her wanted to show her strength.
“It is just stress. I am really excited that Maimi-chan won.” Risako smiled as her face was showing the immense pain in her body and succumbed to her stress as she fell to the floor.
“RII! I will call them right now.” Miya panicked and mashed the button as manay time as she could until a nurse came.
The nurse looked down at Risako and called for a stretcher as Miya saw her flailing on the floor. Risako tried to smile but the pain became unbearable and closed her eyes for a bit.
“Rii-chan…” They placed her on the stretcher and carted her off as she saw her eyes open again.
She watched in fear as the younger girl was being sent to the observation room for abdominal pain. Risako managed to gesture an okay sign before leaving the room. Then, the woman popped in again with a smile on her face as she sat by the bedside facing away from her.
“Is she the one you are in love with?” Miya nodded.
“I guess it can be helped. When you were in the gang, the boys loved to be with you. Now, you looked to the same as your savior, how can you feel the masculine urge in her?” Miya bit down on her lower lip and placed her hands in front of her.
“She protected me from the gang when I decided to leave. Once I stated my intention, everyone was urging me not to leave but she stood by me to leave before I got injured. She has seen the wounds from the gun fights.” She paused as the woman scoffed at her.
“I guess no man could keep you entertained so you decided to break away because no other woman would want to escape with you either.” Miya’s blood boiled as she let out a deep breath.
“That’s true. While you were taking men, I sat outside being horrible. They wanted to drag me off but I stayed outside and left once you were satisfied.” The woman gave her a smirk.
“I guess you never wanted to be like me despite your alliance years ago. Everything fell into your hands and yet you let it go for your happiness. I understand why you looked exhausted after the long sessions but you will never be fully free from us.” Miya gave her a smile.
“Masa-kun~” She called as the man in a suit walked in with his badge exposed.
Her eyes were as big as baseballs as he shows his cuffs and slapped it onto her as Miya looked away from her. She was smiling inside and not a hint of remorse made her feel wonderful yet she wanted to know Risako’s condition. Miya called the nurse and asked about her but there was no definite answer. The nurse turned off the lights and closed the curtain around her as she slowly closed her eyes without thoughts of her friend.
The next morning she woke to the sound of crunching and turned over to see someone next to her munching on carrots. She rubbed her eyes and saw the girl smiling across of her.
“Rii!” She shouted.
“Miya, don’t yell. It is too early to wake up the other people.” Risako warned as Miya placed her face into her palms.
“Mou, Miya. I am still here, I just had an appendectomy.” Miya whimpered as she tried to force a smile.
“I was worried about you. You are so strong compared to me, I’m jealous that you avoided me the first time in getting help.” Rii smiled as she tied her hair into a pony tail.
“You are the strength for me. You were the one to protect me from everything and even when I was developing, you told me it was natural for my body to form as it should. I should be jealous that you are thin.” Miya stuck out her tongue and giggled at the compliment.
“I guess we are bonded by our past. We lived next to each other for so long that we forget that we walked together to school and days when it rained we sat in the back of the car playing games. That was so long ago, now we sit here just remembering our days being so close, what changed?” They glanced at each other for a bit before turning away.
“I don’t know…” Risako answered. “We were two different people once you began to be a gang member.”
Miya shut her eyes and closed her hands into fists. She slowly shook her body before opening them up and staring at the younger girl again.
“I cannot forgive myself for doing that. It hurts when you greeted me from your window and I ignored you. The gang was the wall between us. These three years reminded me that forgiveness is time-driven. Your wounds haven’t healed since I became this person.” Rii threw her fork to gain her attention.
“You are still the same person I remembered from the past. Nothing has changed. You grew into what was given to you. I always wanted to have a big sister who went through the obstacles to teach me life. You were the sister I wanted, the friend I needed, and now a person I cherished.” Miya hid her face into the sheets and punched the bed.
“I hate you.” Miya smiled. “You waited for me despite pushing you away, no one should go through that, and that makes me happy that there is still one person in my corner.”
Miya looked at Risako sleeping peacefully as she looked up at the clock and began to daydream about the first day out of the hospital.
A picnic would be nice.
-
Well I'm glad that Miya, ans Rii too are both ok, and that Miya got some of her own back on that person!
-
@oddy: Kinda the end of a chapter and the hope she would be leading a straight life, but how easy will it be :nervous
[15]
Sayu dragged Koha to the nearest restaurant as her hunger started to roar while cheering on Maimi. Since the arena had no concessions, she had to rescue herself from suffering exhaustion of being on an empty stomach.
Sayu took a seat at the end of the ramen bar staring at the patron next to her and forced him to give up his seat for Koha who scooted in without saying a word.
The bunny looked up at the menu and pondered over her selection as Koha pointed out a special for two people and gave Sayu the nod to order it for them.
The man gave two cups of ice water as they looked around the restaurant and noticed the lack of people their age in the crowd. They were feeling the lack of excitement in the atmosphere and extended their arms in the air to give out a cheer to lift up the spirits but no one followed their lead. In embarrassment they put their arms down and sip from their cups as they waited for their order.
“Koha… it has been great getting to know you…” Sayu paused with Koha holding onto her glass tightly.
“The thing is… I feel bad that you couldn’t find anyone better.” Koha tilted her head to the side.
“What do you mean? You haven’t done anything wrong and I still like you for the way you tend to control your life.” Sayu took a sip to clear the blockage in her throat.
“I cannot feel the same way as you do. You are like a little sister who drags me everywhere and when I want to be alone, you tend to intrude unconsciously.” Koha slumped down and began to digest her words.
“I see…” Sayu grinned and pat her on the head.
“The reason why I am saying this because I need to be away for a while and if you tend to cling on, I am afraid that we need to break off this relationship.” Koha nodded slowly.
“Don’t be discouraged by my words. I think you are a great person and with experience you’ll see someone who can be accustomed to your style of love.” Sayu looked at the crowd again and turned back toward Koha.
“After we eat, I need to head back home to talk to my parents about my long-term plans. I won’t mention you but you will be on my mind as long as you give me some space to think of my speech.”
“I want you to answer a question. Is there anyone else in your life?” Sayu nodded.
“It is a man who I was set up to be with so if everything pans out, I can come back to do whatever you want again. I think it will be a battle between my parents and I so be aware I may need to rest.” Koha shook her head as their dishes arrived and notice the plethora of sides with the meal for two.
Koha sat there mumbling towards her food as she begun to think about going forward from Sayu’s speech and the image of a white dress with the faceless man. It was eating up her inside but she was determined to show a brave face and took a bunch of the thick noodles forced herself to eat it but it wouldn’t go down.
Sayu watched her shovel it in and whacked the back of her head to release the food.
“This is what I mean, I know that you were attracted to me but we cannot be like this as always.” Her stern tone broke her from the fear and she saw something in Sayu that no other person had dared to show her.
Koha looked at her bowl of broth and forced a smile as Sayu happily ate her bowl but it weighed on her mind that she may have to permanently break away from Sayu. Without any more images clogging up her mind, she ate what she could, and left the rest to the side.
“Thank you for being with me.” Sayu whispered to her friend.
“It has been nice to know you…” Koha bowed as she hid her face from the bunny as she walked home with the coat wrapped around her body.
Koha never wanted to say goodbye, it was the last thing on her mind, but she had to remove herself from the bunny at least for the time being. She heard the ringtone on her phone and flipped it to find a message:
Koha,
You are much tougher than me; I have to admit that no one would be able to face my friends with your determination. It has been the first time I ever received a girl’s feelings before and I want that again. It may change when I come home but I don’t want your determination to waiver with fear of losing me. I will have a badge of you in my heart and when I return, I will give you my answer.
Love,
Sayu
Koha closed her phone and broke down in tears. She didn’t want to lose but with the situation out of her control, she had to trust Sayu that the bond will not be broken.
The week’s visit wasn’t easy but Koha got through it without any major incident. She had to read the text a million times to calm her down and continue on without showing her true feelings.
Sayu gave her a call after school and she met at the convenient store where she was working at and waited for Koha to come to talk to her but an eerie feeling came into her mind and then one of the windows broke on the side of her. She looked down to see a rock slide next to her foot.
She looked up and people were fighting outside. She hid in the back and called Koha as fast as she could and heard her voice.
“Sayu, are you okay?”
“Yeah, how about you?”
“I… am good, but we can talk someplace else.” Sayu heard the tone and her heart sank down to her stomach as she threw her apron onto the hook and headed Koha’s direction.
She turned the corner and saw her entered into the park. She followed her path until she got to a bench where she took a seat and looked to find Sayu frozen a few feet behind her.
“What is wrong?”
“How did everything go with the parents?” Koha asked as the curiosity brought out a certain atmosphere to the conversation.
“It went fine. But tell me what is wrong?” Sayu forced it back toward Koha as she opened her phone.
She remembered the text message she had sent her but something Koha had figured out and Sayu knew it wasn’t going to be good from her part.
“This message was sent to one of your friends, exactly the wording I had received.” Sayu interrupted the explanation.
“It was my senior year.” She had started.
“I had to choose somebody to go with me but Reina and Eri were going together and then I decided to send out an email to both of them as it seemed they each had someone who wanted to go with them. I sent it out by accident and the two started to fight until I explained it was a mistake but it made them think of putting me as a third wheel.” Koha softened her strict demeanor and lowered her phone.
“So… who was it intended for?” Koha curiously asked.
“A boy I liked but he ignored me as I offered every gift I could give to him only to reject me in the end.” Koha slipped the phone back into her bag and took a seat.
Sayu sat next to her and placed her arm around her head. She moved her lips near her ear and grasped her hand.
“I want to do this.” She whispered and Koha leaned onto the bunny as she cried out her pain onto the bunny’s chest.
-
Ahh, and awesome chapter, Man Koha is kinda hurt but is tough and carries on where as Sayu in her own way ads to Koha's strength, with her texts and all to keep Koha going whilst she was away!

Sorry to everyone for not updating sooner :nervous
@oddy It was something I needed to add dynamically to make this couple work and to differentiate from the others
[16]
Mano and Kikkawa decided to ride back to the restaurant for a celebratory dinner with each other. Yuu never experience being a customer in the restaurant but her mother insisted to reserve a room for both of them.
She was nervous about her mother serving them that she grabbed an old cloth and polished the table as they anxiously waited for their food to Mano-chan’s entertainment.
“Yuu… don’t worry about that. Enjoy the atmosphere here; it is only you and me.” Kikka dropped the cloth and sat up as the sliding door opened for their ramen.
Her mother placed the bowls in front of them with their utensils to the side of them as they prepared their sides in the mini containers waiting to dig in.
“If you guys need anything else, just call out, I will be serving others.” She politely left leaving the two again with Yuu’s nerves getting the best of her.
“Relax already. There is nothing you can do to stop this.” Mano opened her chopsticks and mixed the sauce into her soup as she prepared her first bite.
“True. I just don’t want to burden them.” She broke hers and picked up a bunch and dove into the meal.
Mano-chan paused after a few bites to admire the Yuu’s eating style, unusual from the norm, still adorable bunny bites. Yuu gave her a stare after each admiration and quickly went back to her food without any exchange of words.
The last bit of noodles exited from the bowl for Mano-chan as she sipped the last bit of soup swiftly. Yuu was still midway through her bowl when her mother peek her head in.
“Is everything okay? Mano-chan, do you want anything else?” She waved her hand as Yuu chased her mother away.
“Mou… your mother is being considerate.” She punched her friend in the arm as she pushed her bowl away.
“I know… it is just I am afraid.” She lay on the floor as Mano moved toward her legs.
“Are you afraid of hurting me? Is it because we never were close and when I came here, we are moving too fast.” Mano’s words were arrows hitting her until she held up her hand.
“Do you think it is going too fast?” She questioned with Mano shaking her head.
“It should be, we cannot use breaks when we feel in control because it scares you. We should be able to convey our feelings without any limits.” She hinted a smile as she rested her head on Mano’s lap.
Yuu closed her eyes for a while and shot up as soon as she noticed Mano resting on her side. She lay back down on her side as Mano position her arm onto her right hip.
For the few minutes, Mano kept her cool as she tried to snuggle with her partner but Yuu’s concern started to hit her quickly and remembered times when she would question to feel comfortable until she would leave without a farewell.
Tears fell quickly from her eyes as she shielded her face from her partner. Mano moved in closer, digging her face into her back as the sadness filled her. Yuu turned to see her red eyes and grinned to console the broken sole.
After a quick embrace, Yuu looked outside and asked for assistance to clear up the room. Mano didn’t mind helping as the dishes were placed near the sink and both washed dishes as they closed shop together.
An hour after the closing, they decided to walk to Yuu’s house together despite living in separate directions. Mano budged her way into grasping her friend’s hand and held it tightly.
“We are the outcasts in this town!” Yuu shouted out as she stepped ahead running into the park.
“Chotto Matte!” Mano chased her until they stopped at the bench, sitting next to each other under the waning moon.
Their eyes were fixed on the moon with Yuu’s head on her shoulder as she gave out a long yawn. Mano took her hand and clasped it together as their hearts began to beat at the same beat. Mano moved closer but an ache in her back held her from kissing her but Yuu went for it.
The lips pressed together for a millisecond before she pulled back red with embarrassment.
“I’m sorry.” Yuu got up but Mano grabbed her wrist.
“Don’t be sorry. I should be sorry. My heart is here but my head is worried about something.” Yuu broke free of her grasp and bowed to her.
Mano spent a few minutes recollection her thoughts as she imagined how much further the relationship would continue until a hooded person came by her.
“Mano-chan, I appreciate you still cheering for me.” She removed the cap and Maimi smiled at her as her short uneven hair was gently moving with the wind.
“Why did you retire?” She shook her head.
“My heart isn’t into fighting anymore, I protected people when I didn’t need to, and in the end I confronted my father. I told him that what if I feel in love with a person, who I want to train but never compete against.” Maimi paused.
“That girl, she was the reason you quitted?” Maimi shook her head.
“Toku-chan saw something that I never showed to anyone. No one else witnessed the fear in my eyes; she exposed me before I could explain that she was going to ruin it. However, thanks to everyone I can retire in peace and become a coach.” Mano took a deep breath and looked at the direct Yuu had left the park.
“I see. I think you would be a great coach but you are still a terrible girlfriend.” Maimi tilted her head.
“Chinami loves you. Why can’t you lower your guard? I couldn’t stand you protecting from the blows people gave you. I never gave up on you but I can’t win over your feelings.” Mano gushed out her heart and then leaned on her friend in exhaustion.
Maimi felt her mouth being stapled by Mano’s words. She knew how she always supported without giving any back. Mano was her lone supporter before becoming famous but she felt the gratitude from all those past fights all compiled into a heavy ball to present to Mano.
“Answer me!!!!” She yelled out as Maimi stood up.
“I can’t stand losing. Fear always strikes when you cannot admit what is bothering me. It was always you being there and a smile would comfort you but I couldn’t show anything because if I failed… I would feel bad more for you than myself.” Maimi’s soft voice ringed her ears as she latched onto her.
“I know. I realized that I wanted you to understand my pain. I want you to tell Chinami you love her.” Mano instructed but Maimi refused.
“I still have feelings for you.” Maimi jogged away as she flipped her hood back on as she sat back on the bench wondering what she had done to get that reaction from her.

The three months after her retirement gave Maimi a little time to herself and her new girlfriend. Chinami was aware that she wanted to follow her partner’s footsteps but the image of her being on top seemed so far away. Maimi’s father allowed her to train under her supervision however he was cautious to allow her to compete especially with Maimi on the sidelines.
The former champion was comfortable with her father’s decision but it lead to a tear in the relationship as Chii wanted to at least have one fight within six months of joining. She had improved with her punching but overall performance was the key to determining if a fight could happen and she lacked the instinct to stay in a fight.
Yajima was confident that Chii could fight but someone had to prove that she lacked the skills to last and her father grew impatient that she was slowly improving. Maimi acknowledged that sparring would only improve her readiness and since they were of similar size, she would have to jump in without remorse.
“Maimi, you have to train her for now.” Her father’s words admitting defeat as she stood in her corner while she was prepping for a match.
She stepped inside to observe Chinami’s movements and tried to build her with her own insight. Maimi lifted up her guard as she watched Chinami sway back and forth waiting for an attack. Maimi grew irritated with her defensive posture that she threw a right straight to her cheek, grazing it as her partner took a step back. Chinami went forward with a left jab that barely reached out and she could see the fear in her eyes.
“You have to attack, Chii.” Maimi instructed as she did the same punch to no effect towards her.
She grew furious over the fear that she connected with a left hook and caused her to wobble. Her father watched Chinami tripping over herself and let her recover as Chinami kept her guard up. However, she didn’t expect a sweep of her feet and landed hard on the mat. Maimi threw her equipment onto the ground and grabbed her.
“I did this because I wanted to make you better but if you are going to be weak, we can break everything off now.” She scolded her as Chii slowly got off the ground.
“Then why are you afraid?” She said under voice causing Maimi to rush up to her looking into her eyes.
“You are the one afraid.” She replied back as Chinami exerted a punch to the midsection as Maimi took half a step back and loaded up a punch.
She stood there thinking about her words. She was right about being afraid, everything before didn’t matter to her, but to watch her get pummel was something she didn’t want to see, and lowered her fist.
Maimi didn’t have to say anything and put her equipment back on and worked on everything she needed to improve but the attitude weighed heavily into going back to sparring. Chinami allowed herself to take on more abuse at the hands of Maimi until she finally got one punch to the midsection with all her might; she connected sending Maimi onto one knee.
The former champion knew it was a good shot and her gasping for breath gave her partner confidence but she wouldn’t give in easily and stood up to get an uppercut nailing her on the chin. Chii took a few steps back, seeing the stars from the punch, and shook off the cobwebs from the perfect shot.
Maimi saw the confidence grow within her and her father put a timely stop to the action as took off their protective equipment and sat in the middle of the ring with her father exiting from the room.
“Yajima-chan, tell me why you are being soft on me? I can handle everything you come at me with.” Chinami blurted out as Maimi smirked at her.
“I love you and I cannot hurt you like I hurt my opponents. You were the one to take on this challenge so I just…”
“…wanted to test me out first. I understand but train me so I can be better. You were motivated to attack your opponents despite not listening to your father.” Maimi grinned.
Chinami hit the cord that had haunted her. She was hardheaded to listen to her father and the matches were a big indication of her lack of discipline. However, she knew that the grit and determination would put her over the top and that was the top qualities that attracted Chinami to her. Still, she had to weigh certain aspects as she faced her girlfriend and grabbed her stuff to go to the locker room.
Maimi thought that she couldn’t make her as powerful as she wanted her to be until Chinami walked into the locker and saw her father looking at the trophies Maimi had won over the past few years.
“I want to fight Yajima-san.” He chuckled at the statement and never looked in her direction.
She repeated the same sentiment and delivered a punched to his hip. He turned towards her and nodded his head.
“Tomorrow, you shall fight her. I will coach you to develop your skills and a lost will only make it worst for you.” Chinami nodded which shocked her girlfriend.
This will not go my way.
The next day, both went to school as usual but visibly their kinship was on hold. Rumors flew across like paper airplanes and soon the air was thick with the talk of breakup.
Momo, who would spread the rumors, was the first to kill it off as she saw Maimi’s face change when she started to glare at her. She could sense a rift between them and decided to ask Chinami but something came over her to halt her progress.
Maimi walked into class with the infinite amount of eyes looking at her as she sat down but the chatter was getting the point of irritation that she stormed out and headed to the infirmary.
Niigaki Risa was on duty taking care of the sick students but it was empty for the morning. Maimi walked in and slammed the door to wake up the bean from her nap. She looked around the room seeing a girl lying on the bed with her arm over her head.
Maimi had tears flowing out from her eyes as Risa drew back the curtain seeing her pale. The bean grabbed a chair and sat next to her as she watched her for a moment.
“Is there something I can do?” She shook her head.
“You cannot run away…” Maimi turned her head.
“If you have a problem, you should be upfront with them. I cannot say I always do it.” Maimi sat up to break her line of thought.
“If it were that easy, I would do so but… I mean my friend has been weighing about the situation.” Risa smiled.
“So what about your friend?” She asked cunningly.
“She wants to help her girlfriend out but she feels that it might to be rough to take on her own battles.”
“Why does your friend fear that she cannot, maybe she can but doesn’t want your friend to worry?” Maimi bent her neck as her chin touched her collarbone.
“Because she… I mean her girlfriend is not as strong as she thinks she is and if she gets hurt my friend will take the the blame for not protecting her.” Risa’s smile grew as big as it could.
“Maybe you should let her guide your way to happiness, she can only see it if you have confidence in her.” Risa said in a low voice.
“It doesn’t help that I gave away that I am in trouble but I need to rest.” Maimi’s final words deter the conversation and she decided to nap until lunch or at least she could get home without any more trouble from other students.
Despite her attempts to sleep, she couldn’t get the match off her mind and tossed and turned in the bed causing Risa to unfortunately let her return back to class. Maimi could only imagine that Chinami had the advantage because she was hungry to prove her wrong but she knew skill would go to her. That thought spiraled out of control until she finally concluded that she may have to put her into a dreamland.
The final bell rang and she headed to the gym to prepare for the fight with all the eyes of the student body observing her movements. The fight was now a personal battle to teach a fellow fighter that this isn’t a game.
