A disturbing manual on how to extract confessions is the latest damning police secret leaked from the personal computer of an Ehime prefectural police inspector. (http://www.asahi.com/english/Herald-asahi/TKY200604140159.html)

Nothing in there all that shocking. Police are very, very good at getting you to give them the information they want.

Really, unless you've got some specialized training you won't be able to work through a police interrogation. Basically you're options are either to tell them everything (bad idea) or say nothing, don't interact and wait for your lawyer to show up.

Well I'm a bit disappointed if those examples were the worst (or the best) parts of the manual.
