How much money do you think fringe people make? Ayaka is the last member of coconuts musume, she does some pictures, ads, tv.. about it..
I really like ayaka, so it had me wondering how much do fringe members make?
Sometimes it makes me wonder if they're given room, board and a bare minimal allowance and are told to "try your best" or "try to stick out" without overshadowing the big names. It strikes me that ayaka's suprise english lessons
have a lot to do with her still being around. She was smart enough to find a way
to shine. You practically have to pick and pull at the folk song cds to hear her sing an entire bar.
I know they have kemeko do things like supervise members, dance, voice, and she does some small appearances.. But how much does she actually get paid to do all this.
How much does country musume get paid? Do they do these "fan trips" basically
to get the girls enough money so that they don't go broke?
Are these special club appearances by fujimoto , etc just to pad the girl's pockets
so that they can afford to live.
I remember fujimoto started out doing OL work.. it makes me wonder if kei-chan is doing photocopies and collating Hello Morning scripts...
-
Kei's been doing stage work (acting) as of recent.
-
Well, I heard the less popular members get a decent pay each month even if they don't have much work, and I'd imagine older members like Ayaka get even more because of the whole seniority thing. Like they have a monthly standard pay. Why would someone like Yuki Maeda stay in H!P if they didn't get money? xD
Also, I heard UFA takes care of a lot of the H!P girls living costs anyway, so no, these girls aren't dying of being poor or anything :P
(The "I heard" means "it has been discussed on IRC" ROFL)
EDIT: Oh and I think the CM Fanclub tours aren't just about "keeping them from being broke" but also about not letting everyone forget who the heck they are. LOL

i always thought the reason they usually start out doing office work is as an induction and to get to know people in the company, how things are run, not to get too big headed when they become stars, etc...
-
I think they have a mentorship role as well. Many of the current acts are still very young (Koharu, Berryz, etc.) and I think the guidance from someone who's been there before would be invaluable.

I heard about older MM members getting paid more than younger gens coz of the whole seniority thing, too.
The not-very-popular members, I heard, get paid just about as much as one would make working in some company. I've only seen an estimated number of Rika's monthly salary which is about 1M yen. But they also pay for her cabs and food and stuff, too, which is not included in her salary.

With Nono and Konkon, i'm surprised they didn't went bankrupt yet...

Well let's discuss low profile people who were never musume members.
Let's say asami from country musume.
I know that the tax records are made public in Japan. Anyone seen any figures on the Japanese boards?

Tax records/incomes that were shown were of those who made it in top200something rank only, so we never got to see how much Asami made. Even popular H!P girls barely made it in the rank this past few years.
-
But I recall, that even though they get meals paid for they are not much, since the girls are pretty busy all the time. That is why they compete for food on H!M. That's what I remember reading though...
-
Well, I don't think they pay for all their meals. Probably just the ones during work.

I stumbled upon these numbers in 2ch. Just take it with a grain of salt.

It's their contracts. Everything x 15 months. (So I supposed these are monthly pay.)

Miki gets paid as much as Rika and Yossie, and Ai-chan gets paid more than the other 5th gen girls. Only the three oldest girls in °C-ute get paid as much as Berryz. And being the "H!P leader" actually means something.:D
-
LOL i understand why Nakazawa stays in H!P now :D
And Takahashi earns more than other 5th gen. weird but cool.
(ah, she's older)
-
I imagine these would be their base contract.
Commercials, dramas, and other things like that are likely in addition to that pay (only way Matsuura's for instance would make any sense).
-
does Kago still gets paid?
And how much yen are those in dollar?
-
1 US dollar is 112.44 yen

And I suppose Aibon still gets paid.

Probably why they do so much "extra" work. Radio, cm, etc.
Shit, if all I need is 25K to have nakazawa around for 16 months, put me down for half of morning musume.
