Title: North Korean Rocket Launch Fails
Post by: Foxy Brown on April 14, 2012, 01:27:30 AM
North Korea launched a three-stage rocket at 7:39 a.m Friday, South Korean Defense Ministry spokesman Kim Min-seok said.

North Korea claims the rocket is a mere propellant for placing a satellite into orbit, but other countries including South Korea, Japan and the U.S. urged it to call off the launch, which they believe is a cover for a long-range missile test.

The South Korean government evacuated residents of Baeknyeong island right after the launch.

But a military spokesman said the rocket seems to have failed to reach its planned orbit and likely fell into international waters. Reports say that the first and second-stage boosters failed to separate.

North Korea was silent on Thursday, the first possible day for the launch. Experts earlier predicted Saturday was the most likely day for the launch to take place.

North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly meets on Friday, and a massive military parade celebrating the centenary of nation founder Kim Il-sung is scheduled for Sunday. (http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2012/04/13/2012041300544.html)

Because they cannot adapt to the American way, unless you are Kim Jong-Il lol

Kim said he will strengthen North Korea's defenses by placing the country's "first, second and third" priorities on military might. But he said he is open to working with foreign countries that do not have hostile policies toward his nation, and said he would strive to reunify Korea.

More of the same I guess :nervous

Hundreds of millions put into military reinforcement yet the country still starves. I read somewhere
that 1/4 of N.K's food supply comes from aid provided by other countries, an incredible stat.
No doubt this failed launch has gotten some engineers/scientists into big big trouble.

Yet the U.S. is willing to give them aid, which from many documentaries, they hate the Americans a lot

Title: New ICBM missiles at North Korea parade 'fake'
Post by: Foxy Brown on April 28, 2012, 02:45:53 AM
Earlier this month at a parade in Pyongyang, the North Korean authorities caught the attention of a number of western experts by displaying what appeared to be six road-mobile inter-continental ballistic missiles.

It was the first time that this system had been seen in public and it appeared to mark yet another step forward in North Korea's ambitious missile development programme.

But now, after a careful study of pictures from the parade, a team of German arms experts thinks the missiles are not quite what they seem.

The North Korean authorities clearly intended the parade to impress onlookers with a display of military might.

The six new long-range missiles carried on top of massive, wheeled transporter vehicles certainly provoked interest.

For a start many analysts wondered where these giant vehicles had come from.

There were strong indications that they may actually have been supplied by a Chinese company. Beijing might well be embarrassed to be seen to be supporting Pyongyang's missile development programme.

But now attention has switched back to the missiles themselves, for, after a careful study of images from the parade, two German missile experts, Markus Schiller and Robert Schmucker, have published a paper suggesting that the North Korean missiles are fakes - elaborate mock-ups and not the real thing.
