The day seems highly unlikely... Just before the election, going against WH7 in an already packed month and with just 3 weeks of promo? No way.

Singles usually get a good 1-2 months before release, so just three weeks would be a little crazy. Could be they want to squeeze something in before the election, since these are all frontgirls, though. But just gimmie the covers, because totes gonna buy this. Just look at that title.

is it confirmed yet? about the release of NY new single..

about the date, i think it seems unlikely too..i think it will be released in June or July (or maybe in the same day as Nogizaka46 , akb official rival  :P , 3rd single release which we still don't know when  XD )

Wow, it's like Aki-P's trying to even out the playing field for everyone by releasing songs just before the election and putting a dent on the more famous members' votes. Same goes for the sister groups.  :huhuh

- Why so short before the election, you know the sales are gonna be weaker than normal
- Why not milk the NY vs WH7 like they did with Sashiko vs N46

Soon they'll announce a French Kiss single on the same day as MnSG, a no3b single that was secretly released last week and a ChocoLove revival releasing the day of the election with Kasai instead of she-who-must-not-be-named.  :roll:

...actually that last idea is fantastic - can that happen?

While the short notice is a little strange, the release date is not. Avex and Horipro want all the promo for the girls they can get, pre-election, especially since these girls are all certified Senbatsu material. It has been nearly six months since their last release, too. I imagine the sales might not be the best, but they'll still almost assuredly sell more than all other subunits, and near everything else, save for Johnnys groups, really.

I think you mean Ohta Pro. Imo, it is because they are senbatsu material they don't need this rushed exposure. Sasshi got tons of exposure the last couple of weeks anyway. Yuko will get ton of exposure in the media because she's the most likely candidate for #1. Yui and Rie can handle themselves just fine. lol

Speaking of Hori Pro wanting exposure for their clients, this would've been a good month to FINALLY RELEASE KASAI'S PHOTOBOOK DAMNIT.   :lol:

Yuko and Rino get lots of exposure, but Yui and Rie need a boost no doubt. Any publicity is better than none, really, and this is promo for the biggest shindig in the game (unless the promo is because Yuko got knocked up or something).

I quite like the song, even though it's a mix between Naminori Kakigoori, Iiwake Maybe and Oh My God (NMB48). It's not exactly a unique masterpiece, but it doesn't need to be.

The PV goes well with the song. Happy vibes, partying  :thumbup However, I am not overly impressed with the PV as such. A couple of good (Yui) scenes here are and there. I like the dance and it looks pretty tight too.

Type D cover is my fav, but Sasshi's lips look a bit strange. Is she putting on her Haruna face? lol

Not yet A-sides take ages to grow on me but I like some of their B-sides a lot. Not so impressed with Suika BABY either but type C is tempting, tempting... Goddamn release schedule, I can't afford everything. :bleed eyes:

But why is the song so lame? :/
It's just so boring and generic for me. Not nearly as bad as Naminori, thankfully, but I know this unit is capable of better. Yasusu, why you do this to Not yet, bro?

Note 1:

The NINKI ratings are the results of a POLL conducted by Oricon indicating degree of interest/degree of purchase intention in an upcoming release. Although the ratings are never a true reflection of sales, it does give a strong prediction about where the single/album will place in terms of popularity amongst the Japanese public. However, they are NOT an indication of how it will perform in terms of chart positioning and total sales for the week.

Note 2:

According to Oricon's note under the NINKI page, Oricon researches about 870,000 of its members by random sampling of 400 members in their 10s until 40s. 50 men and 50 women are chosen randomly to participate in each age group. (However, some popular artists have had NINKI exceeding 500, so we can only assume that Oricon has extended the polling to around 600/700 people now.)

Let's assume NY will sell around 175K and WH around 90K...
Maybe even a bit less since Yuko and Mayu fans are investing in the Senbatsu Election...
...What will be the chance of Manatsu no Sounds Good entering the top 3 this week?

If AKB48 can sell 6x30K = 180K = maybe even another weekly #1!

To get the weekly third they need roughly 1/3 of what WH will sell which is around 30K. which should be a piece of cake.
It could be the first time the entire weekly top 3 will be taken up by the 48 empire!  XD

While it's the "weakest" second day they've had, their two-day total is (barely) higher than for Shuumatsu, because of superior first-day sales.
