Lastly, they talk about the recording session for their new song. Iikubo says this story will most likely make everyone feel sad lol.
So Iikubo got the time schedule sheet for her recording and it originally gave her a 1 hour block to get it done. On the day of, her manager came up to her and said “Hey could you do it in 20 minutes, thanks” Iikubo said “What, that’s impossible!”. Even the director said “Yeah that’s not happening for Iikubo”. For reference, Iikubo says 20 minutes is like Tanaka level skill so no way she was going to be able to do that. However, after she did the recording she found out it only took her 30 minutes! The director came to her and said “You sang miraculously! You hit the right pitches no one else could, what a miracle! All all miraculously in 30 minutes!” He really emphasized that everything was a “miracle” over and over. Iikubo should have been proud of that moment, but instead she felt really sad lol. Iikubo adds at the end “By the way, Daishi took an hour”

A few thoughts
- I see the robotic arms from Renai Hunter also made a comeback (along with the weird hoedown moves from Munasawagi Scarlet)
- Reina's clothes in these dance videos look SO COMFORTABLE
- My favorite part of the song is the Sayu/Mizuki autotune segment
- It's nice to see Zukkii at the front of the group lineup segments of the choreography
- Is Eripon wearing a Gaki shirt from Cinderella?

It'll probably grow on me in time (musically, anyway) but I'm really glad to see that Momusu is keeping up this style of music right now. I think even a casual fan would notice the similar to sound to One Two Three - and hopefully like it enough to buy it! I wonder how that will translate to sales. One of my "fears" about this release, which was completely unfounded and based on the title alone if I'm being honest, was that it would go back to the generic genki sound of H!P like Mikan or something.
tl;dr great modern sound, interesting choreography that continues to challenge the girls. What more could I want?

Some of the robosounds are a bit much for me (TSUNKU!!!!!!!) but overall ME LIKES!!!
The choreography is quite interesting as well 8)
Reina's pants do look comfy but I don't know how she can dance in those, wouldn't high kicks be impossible xD

Kpop Musume returns already??? XD I'm not sure where people are hearing the "dubstep"--I guess it's more subtle compared to "Renai Hunter"--but no matter what label people slap on this, I have to say I'm loving the song right off the bat! :twothumbs The "autotune" / computerized vocal effects seem better utilized this time around compared to "One Two Three", heavy usage being saved for certain parts instead of dominating every line, and I love the slightly slower, more varied beat (though maybe because my current remix project has made me sick of the previous single by now :lol: ). Creepy deep voice is creepy.
I like the funny leg move that happens towards the end of the chorus. Also, can't tell if Zukki's gotten better at dancing or it's just a less demanding dance this time...but nice to see her get some decent time at the front. Haruna still looks amusingly awkward.
Looking forward to the completed music video!

Just to clarify, that voice effect is NOT autotuning.
It's actually a much older effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocoder) layered on top of the vocals.
This particular vocal effect is more retro than trendy, actually.
You'd hear it a lot in the 80s and 90s for example.
Autotuning is a very specific effect that turns a pitch change from a continuous change into a stepwise change.
In other words, it makes a sliding pitch change sound into a sharp switching of pitches.
If there's no pitch change, autotuning effectively does nothing.

The song is not doing much for me, but I'm quite enjoying the choreography :w00t: It's so... multi-dimensional? XD When they line up and come closer and then rotate a bit and then go away, etc... I don't recall seeing a dance like that before. Quite interesting~ Me likes :twothumbs

I'm glad they're keeping this style, even though some parts are extremely similar to 123, even the choreography. But yeah, can't complain. Looking forward to the PV!

I like it, it's cool and the chorus is awesome, though it takes a while to get used to it because the transition isn't very smooth (but I find this is very typical of Tsunku :P )
The choreography is FANTASTIC and vodevilesque in some parts. Likes. :)
Now as for the PV, could they fit those vodeville-like dance moves in a sci-fi like decorated stage, as if they were some in some kind of interstellar jazz cave? That would be cool :D

Yeah, I probably should've used a different phrase to describe the vocal effects. Though to be fair, Kanye West has been known to push the actual Autotune software beyond its most known usage for vocoder-like sounds in some of his productions (even did a whole album playing around with it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/808s_%26_Heartbreak)), so that kinda stuck with me for a good while. I corrected my previous post. :nervous
No matter what's being used, the important thing is that the song sounds good!

For the most part I don't mind the outfits (though the amount of padding is pretty silly), but those shoes...! I mean, look at Ayumi's feet on the Limited D cover -- they look like stumps! :lol:

The shoes are really odd, and I do feel sorry for Eripon and her hairstyling. It looks ... plain bad.
(I wish the had more "normal" clothes and not wierd tsunku-costumes, I know its kind of the momosu look with the somewhat crazy costumes, but once in a while it would be nice with them in less crazy costumes.
Like the costumes for Maji desu ka ska, those were nice. But that's just an sidenote. )

Whoa, so flashy and glitzy with all the light streaks and flame effects...and yet it's still the "temporary" version??? :lol: Well, considering Daishi is absent from the dance scenes due to her injury, I wonder if this means they'll have her moving and grooving at full speed in the "final" version and official dance shot (it'd be a shame if she weren't, considering she's one of the better dancers in the group).
I think I like it more than the "One Two Three" video so far. The effects can still be distracting at times but fit better with the set and color schemes...plus no threat of Haruna beating up the curtains this time. :P

The MV's got some cool things going 8) I still think some of the effects are quite cheap looking, but I just don't pay attention to them.
It's funny with the fiery silhouettes, you can definitely tell a woman (Sayumi) from a kid (Riho)...
They chose some awkward bits of the choreography to feature in this video though... Or maybe they just are awkward because they are awkward dancers still, especially with Daishi missing from the dance shot.
I was thinking Kudo's not getting that much screentime, but towards the end (4:06ish) there's that bit where she glances off camera for a bit and then looks back... It was one of the most memorable shots to me after my first view, so good job >_<

Love the PV-version. Everybody looks good, and eripon looks like she can't hold her face straight in the shots. Like she's gonnna burst out in laughter any second. Maybe because of her hair. =D
Everybody looks so good in this. I love Reinas haircut and Masakis little mischeouvous smile. The effects was a bitt annoying, but the PV looks cool and not that cheaply. The parts with the lighttable and the standing lights is faboulous. This PV stands out for the right reasons. It's a pity they didn't use the kind of lighteffects on the single covers because that would have been sooo cool.

No, it isn't... she's the exact type of girl to become popular in the future: high-pitched, spazz-headed and with a lot of learning potential.
Love the PV, temporary though it is. The light table is genius! The fire part clashes with the general appearance but on the other hand is a good contrast when the guitars enter. It would be a nice effect if they get to blend it better with the rest of the footage.
And, I love that they incorporated the sidestep dance shot in the bridge. It's my absolute favorite part of the choreography :P
Now they only need add extra angles in the dance shot footage and the PV will be perfect (This is temporary and they shot a new version and with Ayumi and Haruka recovered I suppose they just redid that part, so one can only hope :D )

–Due to the vigorous promotion and that the single become a hit, there were more people who reassessed Morning Musume. You’ve had close-ups on the front covers of magazines and such, so does that honestly make you happy?
Kudou Haruka: Yes. I’m incredibly happy that I was able to be in Morning Musume when our 50th single came out, and I was also incredibly happy that we each had a poster in rural city stations. I went to our meeting place after going out into the country just to see those (lol).
Sato Masaki: A girl from school told me, “Morning Musume CDs have been catching my eye lately,” and normally I’d be like “All right~!” in my heart while replying, “Ah, is that so?”

Sato Masaki: Then, I quickly reported it to my mom. Also, since our posters have been put up in lots of different places, when I’d be told, “I saw it, Maa-chan!” “Look look, I took a picture!” I’d think, “Wo~w!” Even on boring days at school I’d get excited when hearing that, or rather, I’d think “Yahhoo~!” I’d normally be happy inside, and be able to do my studying smoothly as well. So it made me think that I’m glad we were able to do “One・Two・Three/The Matenrou Show” with this 10-person system. I was like, “wa~!” from my heart!

I'm glad to see that the 50th single good sales weren't just a one time thing and that the people at UFP keep doing a good job at marketing. Hopefully the trend will go on and Morning Musume will be very much talked about in the future.

Well, they've held #4 for the last couple of days, so even if the numbers dropped, at least they haven't dropped much in the rankings.
Since Momusu has seemed to have been gaining more teenage fans lately, I can only hope the weekend will bring a bump in the sales from students that didn't get the chance to buy it earlier due to school.
While the older, more diehard fans usually buy their copies on the first day or pre-order them, maybe the newer, more casual fans wait for a convenient time to buy theirs.
