I don't think the single sales will be affected that much...

Because the single will includes SKE48 Request Hour Set List 2012 voting tickets...
So, more reason to buy more copies of the 10th single  :lol:

SKE48 is gunning for a new record by getting 1st place on Oricon with both the single and the album. It's a very tall order, but I do hope they can pull it off.  :)

The title for SKE48's 10th Single has been announced in a Mini-Live a while ago. The Title is "Kiss datte Hidarikiki" (キスだって左利き). The Senbatsu was also announced in the same event.

y u kick out Kinchan from senbatsu? She's really adorable :(

Can't wait to listen to the song. The title roughly translates to a weird "A Kiss Can Be Left-Handed" or something for all the Japanese I know :nervous

First reaction: those are some pretty boring outfits.

Second reaction: yep, KataPhi.  :lol:

Third reaction: I'll bet that everybody else is doing it, judging from the foreground of that photo.

Is there some sort of inverse relationship between outfit creativity and level of fanservice?  I mean, KataPhi had some pretty generic and most importantly, identical outfits and then gave us one heck of a PV.

They must not want decorations getting in the way of complicated actions on stage.  :P

It seems that they're really trying to break the 500k 1st week sales with this one (on top of trying to get 1st in the album category as well).  :nervous

^ They're cutting corners when it comes to the uniforms and use the saved money to give us some high-quality PVs. This PV better be 30 minutes long... :ph43r:

As for the senbatsu itself, I think this is management's way of acknowledging the wotas' dedication for this year's election. I mean, getting almost a whole SKE senbatsu to rank in an AKB event is no easy feat. SKE wotas really delivered with that one.

They just want Jurina and her fans happy.  :lol: First, all energetic dance routines, then multiple kiss and yuri in single choreography ..

I wonder if they had live late-night TV performance, who will replace Jurina on this one?

Hmm... what little can be heard sounds a lot like Aishiteraburu slowed down a bit. Nowhere near enough to make a decision it, but seems to follow the same theme. Not a bad thing, necessarily.

As for the kiss scene, well then... props to Jurina, she never holds anything back in her performances. :lol:

My favorite part is how Airi has front row center seats for the recreation of the kiss at the interview. Look, she's literally standing in the middle of WMatsui in the row behind them! Which means that Rena, whose face was behind Jurina's from our view and thus in front from Airi's view, was probably winking at the panting girl.  XD

Hell, both of them were probably teasing Airi, what with Jurina's head being angled much further for that "kiss," too, so she was probably clocking Airi's reaction. OT3! OT4w/Churi!

Hmm...

I admit I was sorta excited (or shocked?) about all the KumiKanon kiss and all the innuendo in KataFi at the time. The PV, the song and all the awkward tension all matched up perfectly, which made it a pretty interesting release.

This time the kiss doesn't seem to have any of the same tension. It just seems like some random promotion stunt to achieve the W #1 on the charts. Furthermore, based on those previews above it sounds like a pretty standard song. To me it has some Gingham Check vibes, but without the catchy hooks. The full version will probably be better though, but I'm not blown away by it so far.

Bottom line: I don't want to see W Matsui kissing.  :lol:

I don't know why but everytime I see the WMatsui kiss part, I just laugh uncontrollably, why do I find it so funny? :lol:

10 secs of the song isn't enough for me to get a clear opinion of it, I remember I tried it with Aishiteraburu which I disliked in the beginning before the full ver. came out and it became my favorite summer single. So I'll just wait until the pv preview or full song gets released, which ever comes first?

So far, I like the choreography and also Nishi in senbatsu~ /o/

I laugh because I keep imagining all of the freakouts going on: mostly the uncontrollable spazz/squee fits by the shippers, and then the fact that Japan has nothing better to do for morning TV news and sports magazine articles but headline this shit, but also how panicked you can see Rena get as Jurina jerks her in. Also, there must be some EPIC teasing going on behind the scenes between the SKE girls and Yuasa. Where are all of the G+ parodies?

    It was announced this morning via Sanspo online and Yomiyuri website that SKE48 10th single「Kiss Datte Hidarikiki」tokuten videos would consist of discussions between the 16 senbatsu members and famous people in their own field of activity.

    For example, Jurina (15) will talk with the great commander of pro-baseball world, Nomura Katsuya (77). They will discuss the role of a leader. During the meeting Jurina, brings up the topic of the ideal leader and taking Maeda Atsuko for model, she emphasis that 「Her will to stand on stage even when her body had let her down was incredible. You need to be strong to accomplish that 」. To which Namura-san replied 「Are you really 15? Such a splendid ace speech. Don’t you want to come to Rakuten (Rakuten Eagles, Nomura’s baseball team) give a lecture someday?」

    Akarin : Tamiyo Kusakari (actress and ex-ballerina)

Holy shit, the entire PV and song are awesome. Nice fun song, that takes a step up from Aishiterabu. The PV itself is a fair bit more interesting to watch than the last, too. And the outfits, are so good, my god. The white ones are gorgeous, and the blue ones are great. Also: delicious WMatsui Tears

I thought it was clear that the PV's not strictly in chronological order.

Rena was alone by herself for who knows what reason, relevant shot of the shoes. Jurina breaks that isolation, they become friends.

Jurina becomes smitten with the teacher. For some reason Rena is friendly with the teacher. PV does not make it clear whether or not Rena likes the teacher romantically.

Rena either:
1) feels lonely again because Jurina is ditching her for the teacher
2) jealous because she likes the teacher, too
3) is sad for Jurina because she knows her crush is a lost cause
Both 1) and 2) are compatible with 3), no matter her intentions towards the teacher, Rena is definitely sure that Jurina is set up for heartbreak.

Jurina witnesses that Rena is friendly with the teacher, either asks her to help her confess, or asking her to back off on the teacher. Rena agrees.

Jurina's confession fails, Rena comforts her, mirroring how Jurina pulled her out of her own isolated funk in the past.

At some point in the future, Jurina is over her crush, and witnesses a couple kissing, isn't bothered by it, and in fact relegates the tale to her homies back at the dorm, at this point Rena is accepted into the rest of the school as well, seeing as how she's integrated with the rest of the students.
Going out on a limb here, but given the rest of the PV, it's even likely that the couple Jurina saw was the teacher, and this demonstrates how she is indeed over her crush.

First time through I completely missed Manatsu's storyline.  :lol: Bias goggles are powerful, man.

Also, I like how only Manatsu's guy is clearly a lefty. Everyone else seems to be regular right handers.  :lol:

^ I was actually just kidding. :nervous I pretty much get the story. It's just that they framed WMatsui's friendship in such a way that it gives a strange subtext. Not to mention that completely random kiss scene in the end. It didn't tie in into anything at all other than being a blatant publicity stunt.

It's just that I've seen so many weird interpretations by others on tumblr, especially about the scene where Jurina first befriends Rena.

But yeah, the ending kiss is a complete gimmick. It's not even a left-handed kiss.  XD FAIL.

Interesting story in the PV and pretty good song... The B-sides are awesome! So far, I'm liking the B-sides more so than Kiss Datte Hidarikiki. Who knows, maybe it will grow on me more like Aishiteraburu did...

I know I'm a little late on watching this, just saw it now, but this PV was very very pretty. And by the that I mean the way it was shot, lighting, the dresses and environments etc. The girls are always pretty.

I was impressed. The song itself was alright, nothing blew me away or anything. It could have let us see more of Akarin, they cut so fast whenever she was on screen it felt like. At least there was alot of Yuria, couldn't be happier!  :wub:

The last shot when they were standing at night watching the cityscape with all the lights gave me chills. But I have a serious soft spot for stuff like that.

The girls have also surpassed their own record of first week sales. Their previous record was set with their 8th single, “Kataomoi Finally“, which sold 496,000 copies. Other female groups who have sold over 500,000 singles in the first week include SPEED, Morning Musume, and AKB48.

Meanwhile, SKE48’s first album, “Kono Hi no Chime wo Wasurenai” (released September 19th), sold 111,000 copies in the first week. It ranked 2nd place after Superfly’s 4th album, “Force” (September 19th / 119,000 copies).
