A story about high school girls who dedicating their youth to Owarai (Comical Stories). It’s started with a girl who want to create comedy club in her school. Comedy club is a place to study all things related to owarai like comedy skit, manzai, and reactions. But, things won’t be easy. With many obstacles ahead, will she able to create the comedy club?

Chapter 1 : From an Old Photo Album
It was summer vacation in Japan. Yamada Nana spent her vacation in her grandmother village. This summer was different from the previous summers for Nana. She was no longer able to meet her grandfather. God had taken her grandfather in the previous season. Nana really loved her grandfather. He always spoiled Nana. He never got angry to her. One of the things that Nana missed the most was his funny jokes. Her grandfather often talked funny things that could make Nana laugh until her stomach ached.
That day Nana helped her grandmother cleaning the warehouse. When cleaning it, Nana found a photo album. It looked like an old photo album because it was covered with a pretty thick dust. Being curious with what was inside, Nana cleaned the album cover. Then she sit on a desk and opened the album page one by one.
There were many photo of Nana's grndfather when he was young.
"My grandpa was handsome..Hehe.." Nana whispered to herself.
She continued to flip over the pages. Nana's eyes caught a photo of young couple who sit next to each other.
"Ahh~ kawai..My grandparents were such a lovely couple" Nana smiled while touching the nostalgic photo of her grandparents.
"Do you think so?"
Nana turn around and saw her grandmother was standing behind her.
“Eh, since when grandma standing behind my back?”
“I called you from outside but there was no response from you. So I came inside. ”
“Ah, gomen. You know, when I focus on one I thing, I can be autistic.”
Nana’s grandma took a chair and sit next to Nana “I want to know which photo that you think your grandparents are kawai.”
“This is it..” Nana showed her grandma the photo and added "So kawai that makes me envy."
"So, find a lover who is like your Grandpa. A wonderful person"
"Don't worry. God loves me, Grandma" Nana grinned
Nana's grandma just laughed and patted Nana's head.
"Who's this person, Grandma?" Nana pointed at the photo of a man.
"He was your grandpa's best friend and also his great partner"
"Partner?"
"Manzai partner"
"Ah, I see"
Nana's grandpa was a manzai performer. He often performed around the town. He wasn't a very popular performer but very dedicated in entertaining people. There were routine manzai shows in townhall but later people's interest in manzai was declining. The number of people who attended the show was decreasing until later the manzai show was stopped to be performed. But, Nana's grandpa didn't give to perform manzai. Together with his partner, he continued to perform in small events around the town.
"Your grandpa was really stubborn. There were countless time i scolded to stop doing manzai and be focus in his cancer therapy. But in the end, he ignored my advice. Sometimes i thought that he loved manzai more than he loved me" Nana's grandma chuckled
"Ne~ Grandma, how can you compare yourself manzai. I'm sure grandpa loved you more than anything in this world"
"No, Nana. Grandpa loves you more than anything. Actually, there were times he thought to give up on manzai. But, you remember, Nana? When you were little you often said that you are your grandpa's biggest fan and you also said that when you grew adult you want to perform manzai with your grandpa. Your words made grandpa's motivation back."
Nana's brain recalled nostalgic memory with her grandpa. When she was a little kid, her grandpa often brought Nana along when he performed manzai.
"You know, Nana? No matter what difficulty your grandpa had to face that time. As long as he could performed and saw you smiled or laughed, that was more than enough for your grandpa."
Without Nana realized, there were warm teardrops on her cheek.
Grandma laughed and swapped away Nana's tears "Ohhh, grandpa's beloved kid is crying"
Nana pouted and said "I'm not crying, Grandma. And I'm not a kid!"
"Ah, sorry, i forgot. You’re not a kid anymore. You already a babaa~"
Nana's cry became louder "Uwwaaa! Grandma is so mean!"
"Stop becoming a crybaby. You better take a bath now. I'll go shopping and make dinner."
"Okay.." Nana kissed her grandma's cheek and then went to bath.
After that day, Nana kept thinking about her grandpa. Finally, in the end of her vacation, Nana had make determination.
She wanted to form Comedy Club in her school!

Chapter 2 : Met The Queen of THE BITCHES
The first day of going back to school after summer holidays over….
--In Jurnalistic Club Room--
“This is the last time I ask you..Are you sure about this?" the journalistic club's president asked Nana
"Yes! 300% sure!" Nana answered without hesitation.
That day, during the lunch break, Nana went to meet the president of journalistic club, the club which Nana joined since she entered Namba Girls’ High School. She met the president to tell the president that she wanted to quit the club. At first, the president tried to hold Nana back but in the end Nana insisted with her decision.
"Then, i have no right to hold you back in this club." The club president was tired of persuading Nana to kept stay in journalistic club.
Nana jumped and hugged her ex-president "Yosh! ARIGATOU!"
That day was the last day Nana became the member of journalistic club. Being a reporter was Nana's dream, that was why she joined the club. But, she had more important to do right now.
Nana was walking toward the student council room when she heard her classmate which also her childhood friend called out her name.
"Nana!!"
Nana looked at her behind and saw Yamamoto Sayaka was running toward her.
"Oii, what'z up, Sayaka?"
Sayaka panting because of her running "I should be the one who asked that question to you. I heard that you quitted the journalistic club"
Nana showed her surprise look "Sayaka?! I'm glad that your ears still can be function properly.."
"What the hell with your reaction?!" Sayaka yelled at Nana.
Nana's face was changed into normal "Yup. I quitted."
"Eh, REALLY? But, WHY? HOW COME? WHEN? ARE YOU SURE? DID YOU ALREADY OUT OF YOUR MIND? SINCE WH-"
"CUT IT OFF PLIZ!"
Sayaka closed her mouth immediately..
"Let's talked after the school end, okay? I need to meet Akarin now"
"Akarin? That Queen of THE BITCHES?"
"Yes, that .."
"Why do you want to meet that bitch?"
"Don't call her like that, Sayaka..You have to call other people properly"
"Okay..Why do you want to meet that slut?"
"That's sounds much better.."
Without answering Sayaka’s question,Nana walked away.
“Hey! You haven't answered my question!" Sayaka walked behind Nana.
Nana ignored her childhood friend and kept walking.
“I’ll keep follow you until you answer my question..”
Still got no respond, Sayaka rose her voice..
"Yamada Nana, I'm talking to you!"
But the person who was called just kept walking.
"Ooii, obaachan~!!"
Hearing Sayaka call out Nana's nickname, Nana turn around and put her hands on her waist..
"How many times i've told you not to call me like that! Don’t you remember, we grow up together. We’re always together since our elementary school days. Even we’re in the same class in high school. I’m not a granny! Do not ever call me like that again"
"Look at you now. You talks too much like a granny." Sayaka said with innocent face
"Whatever! I've told you that we'll talk later after school end, okay? I’ll tell you everything"
“Promise?”
“Promise..”
After heard Nana’s promise, Sayaka came back to her class. Meanwhile Nana headed to the room of student council president, Yoshida Akari a.k.a Akarin. Akarin; a tall, slender, and long-haired girl; was the most popular girl in Namba High School. Her popularity was not because of her quality as a human being. But, mostly because she was the granddaughter of Japan's current Prime Minister. Akarin made a group along with some other popular girls of the school. They called themselves THE BITCHES ( The Beauty, InTelegent, Cute, Humble, Ellegant, and Sexy). Those bunch of girls was the member of popular club and also became members Namba High School Student Council. Akarin is the leader of The Bitches, that was why she was known as Queen of The Bitches.
Nana knocked the door for several time but no one answer. She decided to enter the room even without permission.
"Excuse me! Sorry for intruding!"
Nana entered the room and approached Yoshida Akari, the student council president, who was sit behind her desk and busy painting her nails.
“This bitch ignored me for painting her nails?! Among hundreds of this school's student, why it has to be this girl who was chosen as student council president?!" Nana facepalmed to herself.
"Ah, It's finished" Akarin was smiling while looked at her nails. She was satisfied with her creation. Then she looked at the Nana and greeted her with her bright smile.
"Gokigenyou~ Nana-chan! Wha’t the matter?"
Nana sit in front of Akarin..
"Excuse me! But, I haven't told you to sit down"
Nana crossed her arm on the table and spoke to the point "Listen, i want to create a new club in this school. What requirement that i need to fulfill?"
"Eh, what club?"
"Comedy club"
"Oooo...A comedy club..I see" Akarin nodded calmly several times before reacted in surprise "Eehhhh??!!"
"Your reaction is so slow.."
Akarin tilted her head and asked "Excuse me..What kind of club is that?"
"It’s a kind of a club where the members doing manzai. The members also can learn to make skit and entertain people."
"Manzai?"
"Yes.."
Akarin thought for a while before she got up from her seat and started her speech while walking around in the room "Excuse me, Miss Yamada Nana. This is Osaka's Namba Girl High School. One of the most prestigious school in Japan. Only girls who are beautiful, smart, and coming from high social class that can enter this school."
"So?"
"Excuse me, but about comedy club..How should i say this..A girl from high social class must behave elegantly. Not doing some comedy things. Namba High School create girls who can be proud of, not the ones that be laughed at"
"So?"
"Excuse me! I don't think that manzai or comedy is fit with our school's image. Besides Japan's young people nowdays didn't have interest toward manzai. They prefer something like fashion, music, or sport. I'm afraid your club won't attract any student to join it."
"So?"
"Excuse me but I don't think i can approve the comedy club"
"So?"
"CAN YOU GIVE ME ANOTHER WORD BESIDE THAT 'SO'?!!"
“CAN YOU STOP SAYING ‘EXCUSE ME’?! ”
“Excuse me, I can’t!”
"But, please give this club a chance. And about member, i already found a member who interest to join this club. Doing manzai is only need 2 people. So I think this club can be formed"
Akarin shook her head "No, Miss Yamada. It's true that manzai is only need 2 people. But, don't you know that to form a new club you need at least five students including you?"
"Eh, FIVE?" Nana showed her right index, middle, ring, and little fingers.
"That's FOUR!" Akarin retorted.
"Does it mean that if i can gather another 4 students, i can make a club?"
"Well, you can say that.."
Nana got up from her seat and throw her fist into the air "YOSH! OKAY! Just wait and you'll see that i can bring students who want to join comedy club"
"Excuse me but you only have 3 days to collect the members, Nana-chan~"
"Eh, there's time limit? But, why?"
"Because I can..Hehe" Akarin smirked.
“Among hundreds of this school's annoying girls, why it has to be this girl who was chosen as student council president??!!” Nana screamed within herself.
“What? You can’t do that?” Akarin asked after seeing Nana’s sour expression.
Didn’t want Akarin to looked down on her, Nana said “Fine. I’m sure I can gather the other four members within 3 days”
“Okay. Three days from now, you and the member that you can requite come to me and we’ll talk again about the club.”
“Okay. Then, arigatou for today, Akarin. Let’s meet again three days from now”
“Haik..”
Nana walked toward the door. When she was about to open the door…
“Excuse me, Nana-chan!”
Nana turned around and asked “What? Is there anything else you want to tell me?”
Akarin waved her hand and said with her smile “Gokigenyou~~~”
Nana : Gimme a break!!!

For most of us readers, pairing is like an... inseparable element of a fic?
But reducing the pairings' portions to a lower level can be refreshing and a win-win. Pairings aren't prominent but still acceptable because they do exist.
It seems I kinda get it why you posted 2 chapters straight. So we can already feel the comedy since the story rolled (and the comedy starts in Chapter 2) ?

I think I'll start to pay more attention on NMB now...not only because of yui transfered there,but also because after I watched their tv show I found it fun and entertaining...hopefully this fic will help me to know them more...

1st.. about the pairing, the pairing not always for romantic pair, it can be a bestfriend pair..like in the real life, they've been pairing themself.. I think it will be more sweet if the pairing contain slightly romantic in a bestfriend way.. :D
