C1. Favourite videogame and why.
Castlevania SotN because i fkn love the music and the game mode is not super hard like you need to stress too much so is quite enjoyable... i actually played several times and always feel like there is something else to do.
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
I stopped playing in PS2 but fuck PV gaming is nothing but trouble... also Wii is silly so i say PS3 or 360
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
NES, i owned one and had lots of fun with it
C4. You may take 3 current videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?

C5. The best song from any videogame.
Original Tetris theme (Tetris Soundtrack) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmCCQxVBfyM#)

C1. Favourite videogame and why.
Team Fortress 2. As much as I love the Halo franchise I think TF2 has overtaken it for me. The reason is simple: it's the most fun I've ever had playing a video game. Ever. I love it.
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
At the moment, PC. It's a relatively new platform to me for gaming but I'm enjoying the hell out of it so far. The community is slightly more mature (usually) and the games seem to have a better deal of support than some others I've seen.
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
NES. Memories galore, man. It was my first console and a bullet point of my childhood. Those old Mario games are timeless, man.
-
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
PC. I rarely play consoles anymore, PC offers so much more freedom.
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
NES, because it was my first, and I poured so many hours into it.
-
C4. You may take 3 current videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
Master Chief from Halo. Rocket launchers to make the lines go away.
Ayane from Dead of Alive. Dat pink hair and dem skills.
Samantha Byrne from Gears of War 3. Strong women with accents. <3
C5. The best song from any videogame.
Halo 3 ODST Soundtrack - Rain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-Q04VwH8cs#noexternalembed)
The Halo 3 ODST soundtrack (and game period) was just AMAZING.
C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc).
Keyboard and mouse are becoming my preferred method. I used to hate it, now I wonder how I ever preferred much else.
-
C1. Favourite videogame and why.
Legend of the Dragoon. It was the very first RPG that I bought and the first RPG that I've completed. Also love the characters, the storyline, the music, and the simple battle system.
-
C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
will come back to this later
C5. The best song from any videogame.
Okami Soundtrack - Shinshu Plains (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yKG-Qu4WvM#)
Okami has the BEST music.
-
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
I would say Wii because I just like using the wii-mote to play games. And even though the graphics are not that great compared tot the PS3 or 360 I'm more interested in the gameplay.
-
C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.
I dunno... Virtual Boy maybe? I never owned one but it was fun to play in the Toys R Us store. Well, except for the burning out eyes out part. Dreamcast seems to be the popular choice but I never owned one.
C8. A videogame song that makes you want to dance.
BOOM BOOM DOLLAR/Single/Maniac (Dance Dance Revolution 2nd ReMIX, PSX) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CadaA1e5oa8#)

C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
The good old NES. First console I've ever own. Got me into gaming. Also, loved playing Duck Hunt despite hating that stupid dog.
-
C10. Your favorite videogame character.
Probably Master Chief. He does have a pretty rich history if you read the books and shit, and he's a general badass.
C11. Favorite videogame villain, and why.
Bowser. Incompetent and rigs his own castle with all kinds of shit that can kill him. He's either really stupid or really confident.
C12. Your crossover game (Kingdom Hearts, Dissidia)
Super Smash Bros. That counts, right? :)
-
C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
Master Chief, Kratos, and Dante. I just want to see the hilarity of them there and the chaos they would make.
-
C13. Favorite videogame soundtrack.
Halo 3: ODST
C14. Favorite online game/MMO.
Team Fortress 2 count? cause that's about it lol
C15. Least favorite videogame ever.
Most RPG's. :sweatdrop: There are a few exceptions but I am mostly overwhelmed by them.
-
C5. The best song from any videogame.
Zelda's theme.
Zelda: Twilight Princess Music - Princess Zelda's Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROjzjsMljeA#ws)
I would've picked either Tifa's theme or Aerith's theme, but this make me more relaxed than the other two songs.

I can roll with this..
C1. Favourite videogame and why.
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Got it for the holidays when I was young. It was so challenging and so fun. The music was sooo good. The dungeon music used to scare the crap out of me. Heart racing and sweaty palms with half a heart left with that beeping noise to let you know you we're one hit away from being fucked anddddddddddddd dead. The series is an institution and early Zelda's are a must play. They are timeless treasures.
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
All my current gaming is done on PC. I haven't owned a console since dreamcast. The flexibility of being able to upgrade your PC as you see fit and never have to pay exorbitant prices just to be able to play the latest and greatest games every 3 or years because of console turnover is nice. Plus having a killer PC is nice in general for browsing the internet or watching netflix. I guess most modern consoles can do these things as well but, for me, there's nothing that matches up to w,a,s,d and a mouse.
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
SNES. It was my first console ever and ever since I starting playing on it I've never stopped gaming. I still have it and it works! It's like a functional piece of art now.
C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
yoshi so I can ride him around and have him eat different color turtle shells so I can do crazy shit. the princess from mario bros and zelda so we can have a frank talk about how not to captured really easily so years of my life can be saved playing an avatar to save these idiots.
C5. The best song from any videogame.
like I said earlier, Zelda dugeon music. If this doesn't make you nervous as fuck I don't know what will...

Headset. Was thinking of the game Lifeline.
Lifeline Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeVfTz4VPaI#)
Might not be perfect, but telling the main character, especially a hot girl, what to do? Awesome. :twothumbs

C1. Favourite videogame and why.
Just one? Shit. I'll pick Final Fantasy 8. Squall learns to love!
Edit: I forgot to put the question in bold.
-
C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.
Sega Dreamcast. Ended long before it's time. :smhid
-
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
360 because I've used it the most. Although most of my friends moved from the 360 to the PC. But I've put so much money into that thing that I could't pick something else over it.
-
C8. A videogame song that makes you want to dance.
Super Mario World - Overworld Theme Music (FULL VERSION) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH8mQRXemuo#)
Super Mario World Overview theme song. It's so cheerful that you can't help but to dance.
-
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
N64 for me. Little to no load times, last time Nintendo had a cartridge, and it has Star Fox 64.
-
C9. Favorite screencap from any game.
Damn, I must've punched that inmate HARD.

Sorry, I find this hillarious.
-
C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
Goofy because he can give me the insider tips on Disneyland and would hustle me into fronts of lines.
Mordin from Mass Effect because I want to have knowledge dropped on me. Plus, he's a magnificent vocalist.
Chie from Persona 4. Because girl kicks tanks and loves Bruce Lee.
-
C1. Favourite videogame and why.
Super Mario World
It's a tough battle between Mario games for me. I love Galaxy as well but SMW was the first game for my first system I played it for hundreds of hours and to this day I can play SMW and it is just as fun as it was when I popped it into my SNES for the first time.
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
I like them pretty equally. I always have all the consoles since they all have some great exclusives. I guess you can't beat PC if that counts. xD
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
I would say Dreamcast but DREAMCAST WILL NEVER DIE! Seeing Dreamcast games was like the biggest a Holy Shit moment coming off of PSX and N64. The graphics were just unreal, or should I say real because when I saw a demo for NFL2k at the store I thought it was a real football game for a few seconds. Sooo many awesome games in just a couple years of life.
Surfing the internet and playing games online with a console was mind blowing, I'll never forget me and my cousin playing Daytona USA and NFL2K1 online for the first time. Crazy, even if it didn't work great. And I've still never been addicted to leader boards like I was on Shenmue. Damn I was so stoked when I made the global top 100 in darts.
C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
o_O uhh Mickey (so he can get me to the front of the lines and free stuff) and two of the carts from mario cart to ride around in.
-
C10. Your favorite videogame character.
Samus Aran.

C5. The best song from any videogame.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Saria's Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVlqk9yZf2c#)
Saria's song. It's all happy and you play it to talk to her.
-
C16. Game that most needs a sequel.
Halo 3: ODST. I really loved it so another Halo side story would be cool
C17. Your favourite videogame moment.
The credits for Super Mario World come to mind. I dunno why.
C18. Favorite videogame related movie.
Super Mario Bros. live action movie. So hilariously funny-bad. Dennis Hopper as Koopa, oh my God.
-
C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc)
The Sony Dualshocks are probably the standard in which most controllers follow in the last few generations.
-
C19. A music-related game (Guitar Hero, DDR, etc).
I was on a MAJOR DDR kick for a while back in the day. I was never that good at it, but it was fun. My favorite is 3rd Mix because it was what I played first. Boom Boom Dollar for life!
C20. Favorite Zelda game.
A Link to the Past. I never finished it, though.
C21. Your favourite Final Fantasy game.
Never played one. Don't hurt me. :nervous
C22. Favorite car combat game.
Burnout 3.

C5. The best song from any videogame.
Morning Fog's Wave from Shenmue 2. If there was ever a more beautiful song I would love to hear it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDdMwkoiNxs#ws (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDdMwkoiNxs#ws)
Honorable mention to the Metal Gear theme and Medal of Honor theme.
C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc).
I'm not picky. I actually really like the wiimote + nunchuck for a lot of games. Very comfortable.
C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.
Dreamcast obviously. Original xbox had a lot of potential and pretty short life too.
C8. A videogame song that makes you want to dance.

C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.
I'll say Dreamcast as well. While it was more like a half-step in technology, there were great games for it.
-
Awesome topic. I'm gonna have fun with this.
C5. The best song from any videogame.
Liberi Fatali from FFVIII. That quiet opening that builds and builds to things grander and more epic, and tied with that FMV opening, makes me love it just as much as I did all those years ago when I saw it for the first time on a demo disc that came with a Playstaton mag
Final Fantasy VIII - Liberi Fatali (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5f_VBd_17M#)
C16. Game that most needs a sequel.
Shenmue II. Don't even care if they don't make a game and continue the story in a crappy flash video, I need to know where that story goes. Failing that, I'd like to see the what a sequel to Mirrors Edge would look like. It was a bit of a flawed gem for me with some sections in that game, but then so did most people, so it would be cool to see if the developer learned anything from that and made a game that didn't have the annoying combat sections or tight indoor corridors.
C29. Your favourite developer (Valve, Bioware, Blizzard) and why.
I've never really stood up and taken notice of any one developer until now, but the first thought that comes to mind is Platinum Games. They just can't make a bad game at the moment. Some of the creative genius behind games like RE4, Okami & Viewtiful Joe that have gone on to make some of the best playing games this generation and are in my favourite games of all time (Bayonetta, Vanquish). And as for the future, Anarchy Reigns has got some great reviews (with some horribly shitty publishing by Sega. WTF Sega.) and both P-100 & Metal Gear Rising looks fantastic. Can't seem to do wrong.
-
Omg this is so geeky!!! I love it!!!
C1. Favourite videogame and why.
I know I'm going to lose all my gaming rep for this, whatever.
THE SIMS 2.
Because The Sims 2 is what you make of it. You want to build an entire town from scratch? You can, and it can be any kind of town you like with any kind of houses. You want your Sims to be miserable and suffer horrible deaths? It's up to you. Or you just want to watch a giant family grow, generation by generation? Absolutely possible. In The Sims 2, YOU ARE GOD.
My Sims are my babies. When I play, I come up with storylines for them. It's just a lot of fun, and I've spend more hours on Sims 2 than any other game in the world. :D
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
PC... It's the most convenient one for me, I don't even own any other current platforms (except NintendoDS for handhelds). Especially thanks to services like Steam, it's just so easy to game on a PC, with buddies as well.
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
I have most fond childhood memories from playing NES, so probably that one. :P Mario Bros, Ninja Turtles, World Cup, Track & Field lol, Kirby's Adventures :3
C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
Kirby because if I got tired of walking, he(?) could swallow me and fly me somewhere.
Vivi from FF9 because it would be adorable as hell and he wouldn't actually look out of place in his costume.
And what the hell, Pikachu to round up the cuteness. Actually, these 3 could distract all the other Disneyland visitors so I could get ahead in line.
C5. The best song from any videogame.
Final Fantasy 6 Soundtrack- 61 Ending Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72GtbNJAX0I#)
YEAH it's basically a collection of all the themes in FFVI since it's the ending theme, I don't feel bad because FFVI is one of my favourite games :D
Listening to all this makes me emotional because it reminds me of the journey and the music is really beautiful kaykay 8)

C1. Favourite videogame and why.
The Legend of Zelda, for NES. It's been my favorite game since I was a kid, it was pretty much the first game I really remember playing and loving. It's just classic, the gameplay, the music, and it set the stage for arguably the best franchise in gaming.
-
And I've still never been addicted to leader boards like I was on Shenmue. Damn I was so stoked when I made the global top 100 in darts.
ohh my GOD another Shenmue fanatic?? Whats your darts high score? I wanna load my game up just to see what mine is
did you see my review on the "review the last game you played" thread? I think you'd appreciate it.
C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc).
always loved the accuracy of the mouse for shooting games and, being a PC gamer for the most part, I'm going to have to rep the w,a,s,d + mouse for this one :P
C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.
I feel like the Dreamcast is the only console that really falls into the category. Though, I would've said Dreamcast anyhow because so many of my favorite games came through it. All of a sudden ps2 and xbox we're coming out (or maybe they we're out midway through DC's career?? I can't remember) and I felt forced to move on because developers we're jumping on the new console bandwagon and then Dreamcast faded away

my man Tom. He's so gangster. He also sells hotdogs.
C10. Your favorite videogame character.
Link. Me and that son of a bitch spent a LOT of time together...
-
C1. Favourite videogame and why.
My favourite video game has to be bust a groove for the ps1, hehe, loved that game, wish the 2nd game came out over here.
Bust a Groove - Kitty-N´s Stage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs3RsvCeIQ4#)
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
PC, at the moment, all the games I am currently playing are on the PC, which includes Final fantasy 11, which I have 584 days play time on, lol
-
Also on that note, a sequel to The World Ends With You plzkthks.
C1. Favourite videogame and why.
This is a hard one to think of. FFVII, FFVIII, Persona 3 & 4, Bayonetta, Morrowind, Deus Ex, Ocarina of Time all spring to mind. To me though, there are two that are equally tied for different reasons.
The first is Shenmue. Replaying it now, it's kind of difficult to go back to, but I've nothing but fond memories of playing that game. It was just so unique, so unlike anything else I had played that I just fell in love with it. Wandering around Yokosuka, chatting with Nozomi, playing at the arcade, hell I even loved the warehouse job. It was so intensely atmospheric that it actually got me interested in Japanese culture and without it I might not even be here. And at the time the graphics where incredible and the soundtrack still affects me after all these years.
Shenmue Soundtrack - Shenhua (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-yscG027w0#)
So as a game experience, and something which I can say profoundly affected my own life for the better, I would say it's probably my favourite game of all time.
But I feel that I have to give a mention to Metroid Prime. Probably the best game I've ever played. Period. Nobody though a first person Metroid game would work, but we were all proved wrong. The environments are just so interesting to explore with that abili-tease of showing you areas that are just out of reach for the moment that you just feel like you have to keep playing. It's another incredibly atmospheric game from start to finish too, and you rarely ever feel as isolated and alone playing it, and that's all down to the fact of some really smart design choices that were made. Still gorgeous to look at even now and it has one of the best soundtracks ever. The music for Phendranna Drifts just hits me every single time I hear it. The memory of reaching that area, this song starts to kick in, you look up at the cloudy sky and watch as snowflakes slowly descend and land on Samus' visor. I feel like I could easily go back and play it right now.

C9. Favorite screencap from any game.
A couple from two very different games. But two of my favorites.
C10. Your favorite videogame character.
I gotta go with Solid Snake. I like how he's gone from unsure super soldier pawn -> savvy mentor -> worn down wise veteran throughout the games yet was bad ass all the way through.
C11. Favorite videogame villain, and why.
GLaDOS because she is funny as hell and still menacing.
C12. Your crossover game (Kingdom Hearts, Dissidia)
I don't know if this counts but I would like a Snatcher/Policenauts cyberpunk RPG but open world like Fallout. I only thought of it because Fallout 3 had a Snatcher reference of Gibson with his head in his lap (http://i.imgur.com/ZHkWm.jpg) at the capitol post building when you find the key for the model house.
-
C11. Favorite videogame villain, and why.
this asshole. No other villian made me rage as hard as Gary Oak did.
C12. Your crossover game (Kingdom Hearts, Dissidia)
Mario Kart 64! That's an easy one.
C13. Favorite videogame soundtrack.
Zelda: A Link to the Past. Not a bad track on the whole soundtrack. Here's an epic 15 minute medley of all them :)
Zelda: A Link to the Past Music - Medley [HD] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evbR6lIOx7Q#ws)
C14. Favorite online game/MMO.
It's a tossup between Anarchy Online and World of Warcraft. Lord of the Rings Online gets an honorable mention atleast for being my favorite mmo world but Anarchy Online was my first venture into MMOs and I LOVED the game. Unfortunately I got into the game when AO was losing grip on the MMO market at the time and it was on the way out so I didn't get to enjoy the game in it's prime. I spent much more time in WoW raiding. If AO had WoWs smooth combat/raiding system I'd have no need to play any other game. Final answer: Anarchy Online.
C15. Least favorite videogame ever.
The first legit Dragonball game in the states.. I can't even remember the name but before it I owned the Japanese imports of the GT game that you had to swap trick into the PSOne and that game was boss. But when they started making DBZ games in the US the first effort was terrible. Terrible combat system, clunky controls, and just a serious letdown.
-
-
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
Eh, I honestly don't do a lot of current gaming cus I'm poor XD but really, PC seems best.
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
SNES, man. Shit was so awesome, I loved my SNES to the very end and SNES games are probably the ones I emulate most often when nostalgia kicks in.
-
C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc).
I suppose it's mouse + keyboard now. I used to have problems with all sorts of gamepads even as a kid because I squeeze them too hard, especially if it's an exciting game (my hands would hurt so much after a Final Fantasy boss on PS). I don't mind different sorts of controls, but a part of me also thinks I've got too lazy to bother with learning much new control methods. I enjoyed some games with Wii, for example, but I never really delved into learning to use it the best possible way. It was more like "ok, the screen is telling me to shake the mote. Ok, let's shake it then." It didn't come naturally like movement with mouse + keyboard. Mouse + keyboard has become like an extension of my body haha.
...That was a long answer to a simple question lol.
C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.
I cannot really answer to this because there are so many consoles I've never even played :/ I thought it was weird though, how it seemed it took a while for companies to learn how to make the most out of PS1 graphics (see: the difference between FF7 & FF8) and when they got it down, it was time to move on to the next console. So I dunno. Sometimes I appreciate it more if people are making the most out of a limited capability instead of pushing out another console to make things fancier. I mean I'd take a billion games like FF9 over any of the PS2+ Final Fantasies, but I'm probably in the minority rofl. Obviously it won't make as much money to the companies, so...
C8. A videogame song that makes you want to dance.
Stryfe stole my answer :tama-mad: So I need to think about this for a while...
Ok, let's go kweh :3

C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc).
i like the wiimote because is fun XD
C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.
fkn dreamcast. i remember playing street fighter in it... or trying because honestly i hated the controllers... but it was cool, better than ps1
C8. A videogame song that makes you want to dance.
uhhhh no idea about this
C9. Favorite screencap from any game.
mmm any cap that involves moogles or cactuars or both :D
C10. Your favorite videogame character.
Cloud Stryfe
-
C1. Favourite videogame and why.
Okami: amazing artwork and gameplay
Gran Turismo: unlimited re-play value
FFXII: great storyline
-
-
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
Playstation 2: Huge amount of great games of all genres, still has acceptable graphics in this modern age and it has the best controllers out there.
-
C10. Your favorite videogame character.
Bayonetta. Many label her as just being the female Dante from Devil May Cry but it actually does her a bit of disservice. I say there's more to her that makes her stand out above other female game characters. Seems like female game characters are either shown as being weak and in need of protection, or capable badasses but presenting a personality that suggests they're asexual. Bayonetta's both a capable badass but is also sexually attractive and aware of it. She's looking for a good time alright, it's just that she doesn't think you're up for it. In that sense, she's actually quite sexually intimidating, perhaps the first time I've ever found that from a female game character. I find that aspect really interesting. On top of it all, she just stands out visually from other game characters, with some wonderful design work that goes all the way down to the frames of her glasses.
C35. Animals and videogames: What's the first thing that comes to your mind?
Animal Crossing. Fuck you Tom Nook.

C10. Your favorite videogame character.
Aw I don't think I have any pictures of mine saved :(
But female, paragon Commander Shepard
So badass. Strong woman. Doesn't need to be a douchebag to kick ass. Confident, sexy. DAT VOICE. Fucking best ever. Playing as her makes me feel like I could conquer the world. :D I also like that there's the option of making her lesbian (even if there is only one romance option, and I've never taken it because I don't find the blue chick attractive). Now if I could only finish ME2 & play ME3 one day >_<
C11. Favorite videogame villain, and why.
I'm doing two because I love them ^_____^
KEFKA (Final Fantasy VI)
FF VI - Real Orchestrated Kefka Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvEU79Wwkqs#)
This fabulous, hilarious, random bitch. Kefka didn't have a troubled past like not getting enough love from his mother. Kefka just wanted to watch the world burn. How many villains have actually succeeded in destroying the world? Well, Kefka has. And he has an awesome theme music :D
GLADOS (Portal; kind of Portal 2)
 I've never enjoyed being dissed as much as I do when it's from Glados. Oh, Glados. I would link a video but honestly, if you don't know Glados yet from playing Portal, you should PLAY PORTAL. And Portal 2 because it has tons more to do than Portal and is awesome.

C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
NES! It's my youth and some of the games on it are still among the best games ever. Super Mario Bros 3 and Kirby's Adventure come to mind :thumbup
-
C11. Favorite videogame villain, and why.
For me, the most memorable is Liquid Snake from Metal Gear Solid. Not only for those memorable moments like fighting him piloting the Hind or a bare knuckle fist fight on top of Metal Gear, but for that ultimate mind fuck near the end. Disguising himself as Master Miller and feeding you advice via codec through the whole game, it actually turns out your trusted friend was disguised as your greatest enemy and that he was getting you to start up Metal Gear as opposed to shutting it down. I don't think a reveal like that has ever been bettered (other than perhaps in Bioshock)
But speaking of mind fucks, a shoutout also has to go out to the Icarus AI from Deus Ex. Imagine this, you're wandering around future Paris receiving codec calls from your support team all the while when you see another one start to come through.
*INCOMING TRANSMISSION*
Me: "Geez, Tracer Tong again? Does he ever..."
Icarus: "I NOW HAVE FULL ACCESS TO YOUR SYSTEMS"
Me: ..........
You later find it's a rogue AI that's designed to track you down. So again, imagine from that point your codec calls from now on is from this AI taunting you, trying to persuade you to stop doing your mission, telling you it has access to a satellite with infra red and x-ray and that it can see you are afraid. And you even walk past a desk telephone, you pick it up and Icarus is the one calling for you. It really gives you the feeling that it's getting closer to you, that you're being trapped and it's done so well. Rogue AI's really can be quite sinister huh?

ohh my GOD another Shenmue fanatic?? Whats your darts high score? I wanna load my game up just to see what mine is
did you see my review on the "review the last game you played" thread? I think you'd appreciate it.
You have no idea.... I stalked the npc's (yes even some animals) and made a notebook of every name, daily routines, where they worked and lived. :sweatdrop: I have no idea what my darts score was though. And I did see your review, nice job on that. I might have to do one myself if I ever feel non lazy. :P
C13. Favorite videogame soundtrack.
hmmm so many. [noembed][/noembed]The first Mass Effect might be the most memorable soundtrack of any game this gen for me. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w097Q0fZE-A)

I've honestly never played an MMO. For just online games I used to play Unreal Tournament and Halo 2 quite a bit.
C15. Least favorite videogame ever.
Can't really think of anything I hated that much. I usually know if I'm gonna like a game or not before I buy it. I guess my parents got me a couple Lord of the Rings games when I was little that were pretty bad. I don't know if they were crap or if I was just too little to comprehend them.

C5. The best song from any videogame.
+1 on the Okami soundtrack.
And:

C12. Your crossover game (Kingdom Hearts, Dissidia)
Say WUUUUUUUT I don't think I have any answer for this
C13. Favorite videogame soundtrack.
It's a bit unfair because the only entire soundtracks I've ever listened to/had are Final Fantasy ones. >_<
So of course I'd say something like Final Fantasy VI and I already linked the ending theme from that before.
Aside from that, I really like some of the music from Silent Hill, but again, I've never listened to any complete soundtracks or nuffin.
Here's the opening theme from Silent Hill 1 anyways, since I like it ^^

It's just perfect to create atmosphere, makes me ~feel things~ So pretty, yet melancholic and broken >_<
-
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
360 for me, in fact it may well end up being my favourite console ever. Some of the best games I've ever played have come out on it and the multiplayer experiences have been second to none.
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
I never really got into gaming until the PS1 so I'm gonna have to go with that. But I may have picked it anyway considering that some fantastic games came out for it. FFVII, Tomb Raider, Tekken 3, Broken Sword to name a few. Good stuff.
-
-
C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc).
Playstation controller. It's precise and you can access all buttons without having to move your hand at all.

C14. Favorite online game/MMO.
IS ANYONE SURPRISED?
THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE.
Even if it makes me swear in capslock in the chat sometimes, mostly when I'm trying to do an instance solo with my hunter.
The world is incredible, sure it's not 100% faithful to Tolkien but they've really done their best at balancing the lore and creating a game that's fun to play. I started playing because I wanted to feel like a part of the world and I've been well satisfied.
I love having my own character in the world helping people out and functioning as a DIVERSION. Makes me feel important.
Love that there are different classes to play, too, since I can suffer from the getting-bored syndrome.
Some people have said the game has made it an interesting experience to re-read the books as well, and I'd like to try that some time. For instance, a place that might only be mentioned in the book will be familiar to you from the game because you've done questing there, and you get a warm fuzzy feeling once you recognize the name. LOL It's not only a name anymore.
BUT YEAH WHATEVER. Lotro is still a lot of fun to me. I really hope the game stays up all the way until Mordor 8)
-
C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
Dante from Devil May Cry cause he's always down to party. Tifa from FFVII for some eye candy. And HK-47 from Star Wars : Knights Of The Old Republic because he doesn't give a fuck about lines and will gladly stomp over some people to get ahead.
C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc).
I do like the 360 pad, it's comfortable and the triggers feel just about perfect for first person shooters. I did like the Dreamcast controller as well, and the VMU was cool as well with the stuff you could do with it for games like Sonic Adventure
-
C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.
Atari Lynx! Handheld in color long before Nintendo's Gameboy was in color! Had some good games too :thumbup
-
C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.
For me it's the Dreamcast. I guess because I got it at the time it was already coming to an end and the PS2 was reigning supreme. When I got it for Christmas I didn't know the first thing about it and was kind of hoping for a PS2 instead XD But sure enough I played games like Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Metropolis Street Racer and Skies of Arcadia. And it became one of my favourite consoles ever.

Ya know RE: game consoles that don't last enough, is that the best time to buy a console for cheap, when its time is about to be over? I remember the best time to buy Sims 2 EPs was when Sims 3 had just come out and all the shops were trying to get rid of their Sims 2 stocks. So I was wondering if it's the same thing for consoles with both the games and the console itself dropping in price. Is the right time to buy, for instance, PS3, the moment when the next gen is about to come out, or has just come out?
Not really considering buying anything seriously, but if I was, I'd imagine it would be good to know LOL.
-
I guess so. The same logic would apply if they wanted to shift stock. I guess the one thing that you, the consumer, will need to take into consideration is the fact that a new console will mean a shift in focus from developers and the players themselves. So if you wanted to try out multiplayer, you might not be able to because the gamers are with their shiny new console. But then if you're focused on single player only, then there's no real issue.
C9. Favorite screencap from any game.

C12. Your crossover game (Kingdom Hearts, Dissidia)
Dissidia Duodecim. For a spin off game, it's got a ridiculous amount of content and fan service for FF fans. I still technically haven't beaten the game and yet I've put in 174 hours into it. It's insane. On top of that, it's a good game, it plays unlike anything else out there and you can create some wonderfully epic moments. Such like the matches that I've been uploading and sharing in the FF topic!

C14. Favorite online game/MMO.
The only MMO I've ever played was Star Wars Galaxies. Those first few hours were ok, the sheer scale of the planets, of what you could or couldn't do..but then familiarity started to creep in with the same kind of quests on each planet. I eventually realised it was all going to be one endless grind. And this was at the time where the only way to unlock the Jedi class was to reach the highest level for every class. It just wasn't possible unless you devoted an unhealthy amount of time grinding out each character. Then on top of that, I was playing PVP against people who clearly had spent that amount of time. I just lost interest in that game and that sub-genre as a result.
Some of the best online experiences I've had was playing Call of Duty 4 at the time it was released. Playing it during my early Uni years, in the summer with and against my friends. Those were some good times.
C15. Least favorite videogame ever.
Myst. As I got older I thought I had been too harsh on it from when I first played it. I was 11, not interested in adventure/puzzle games in the slightest, so a few years ago I was curious and booted it up again to give it another chance. It didn't last long. Basically the game is a series of screenshots with a point and click mechanic, and you need to click everything on there to make sure you haven't missed any item to pick up or action to commit. But even then the 'puzzles' are notoriously difficult, so much so that you don't know if that lever you just switched does anything, or if it needs to be flipped in sequence, or even if it needs to be switced on at all. No music, graphics ugly, no story. I just gave up on it. The fact I played a point and click game on the PS1 didn't help either.

C17. Your favourite videogame moment.
I'm gonna cheat and say all the boss fights in the MGS. Actually the MGS games have a large portion of my favorite moments.

I thought silent hill was well done.
C19. A music-related game (Guitar Hero, DDR, etc).
There were a couple PS2 games Harmonix did before Guitar Hero called Frequency and Amplitude that I really loved.

And Rez of course.
C20. Favorite Zelda game.

C21. Your favourite Final Fantasy game.
Personally FF12 is my favorite. I thought it was a step in the right direction for the series.
C22. Favorite car combat game.
Super Mario Kart and Burnout 3 :thumbsup
C23. Favorite Pokemon game.
Believe it or not I've never played a Pokemon game. :sweatdrop:
C24. Favorite Pokemon.
Gotta go with Missingno :P
C25. Your favourite FPS and why.
Half Life 2 Ep: 2. IMO the most Immersive, well paced, varied and fun fps ever made by a long shot. Bioshock is up there too. Goldeneye for nostalgia purposes. ;D
C26. Game that you played longer than any other.
Hmmm hard to say. Minecraft has to be up there. XD
-
C17. Your favourite videogame moment.
They all seem to come from Bethesda games  I mention quite a few of them in the Elder Scrolls thread and in the Fallout thread if you're curious. For me though, I think the most memorable comes from Bastion. I daren't post a video because it would spoil a key scene in the story, but needless to say, when that moment happened, I'm not ashamed to admit I was feeling pretty emotional. I was so affected by watching the events unfold and no other game before or since has made me feel that way. Anyone who's played it might have an idea of what I'm talking about. If you haven't played Bastion yet, then do. One of the best games this generation.
C18. Favorite videogame related movie.
I really struggled with this one  I guess Silent Hill was alright to watch. And Resident Evil is ok too.

C1. Favourite videogame and why.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
There are several games that I can put in here with different reasons why, but off the top of my head I'm going with this one. The huge sense of exploration of different locales from modern urban to dusty desert to mountainous forest; the customization aspect with cars and character appearance; a pretty cool plot with the most likeable of the GTA protagonists (despite the player being able to do all sorts of crimes, the character's still generally portrayed as a "good" guy compared to his predecessors), and just being able to do all sorts of crazy crap like swim, drive boats, fight with swords and martial "marital" arts, fly planes, go parachuting/base jumping...and on a more personal note, the early '90s "gangsta" theme and California-inspired setting, which was like re-living my childhood/teen years' pop culture exposure. Also, minor things like a basketball mini-game, jetpacks, and the harrier jet mission were like the icing on the cake.
C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
PC
I've been reluctant to openly say it, but I've been part of the "glorious master race" for the past couple of years now. The convenience of Steam and its sales, and being able to start up a game with only a few mouse clicks...compare that to my only current-gen console, the Wii, which requires booting up and actually moving my arms a bit more to play. Yeah, I'm lazy. :P Plus there's the general flexibility that comes with hardware upgrades and software mods, as well as what I once pegged as the console world's greatest strength--the games themselves--becoming a moot point with well-done PC ports showing up over the years.
C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
Nintendo Gamecube
Underrated platform with tons of classics. Super Smash Bros. Melee, the Metroid Prime series, Wrestlemania XIX (possibly my favorite WWE game of all time), F-Zero GX...plus I liked the small size of the machine itself. The controller was decent and I liked the intentions of its design, but quirks such as a painfully small d-pad, lack of another shoulder button opposite of the Z, non-clickable analog sticks, and poorly-placed/shaped B button all add up to prevent it from being truly awesome.
C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
Sonic the Hedgehog because in some of his games normally mundane settings were converted into crazy obstacle courses for his levels and I feel like the same would happen to the rides if he showed up. :P Cammy White (Street Fighter) because walking around next to that sexy leotard and set of legs would be awesome. Plus she could kick ass if someone messes with me or lines get too long. And Sora (Kingdom Hearts) because, hey, video game characters in a Disney setting? If something goes down we're gonna need someone to save us from those Heartless forces.
C5. The best song from any videogame.
Damizza, N.U.N.E. - 06 - I'll Do Anything (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGW3tJMKCqM#)
It really captures the essence of both SoCal hip hop and the game's theme of cruising through the streets of Los Angeles as a rogue cop on the look out for thugs. I tried to avoid going with licensed music for this question but I do believe this is a game/soundtrack exclusive.
-
C27. Your favourite console generation and why.
Damn... well this one is pretty great and isn't even over yet. So many great new big series like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Portal, Batman AA/AC, Saints Row, Assassins Creed, Gears of War, Uncharted, Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, The Witcher etc etc (probably forgetting quite a few) I got a lot more into WRPGs this gen with Fallout 3, NV and Skyrim. Some great games in old favorite series Mario Galaxy, HL2/Orange Box, Call of Duty, SSF4. An explosion of great downloadable and indie games, DS and PSP games, iPhone/iPad games.
The only disappointments for me are maybe Kojima Pro and Rockstar haven't been as good for me as last generation but with GTA5, MGS: GZ and rising that could change quick.
Second would probably be SNES/Genesis. I got into gaming that gen and my friends and I used to plan our gaming purchases so we could share and get the most games possible.
C28. The videogame character you would take to a Haunted House.

C29. Your favourite developer (Valve, Bioware, Blizzard) and why.
Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Star Fox. I don't think anyone can beat Nintendo. Especially now that Sega is not even a shell of it's former self. :( Before 2003 or so it was Sega.
C30. Your favorite publisher (EA, Activision) and why.
SquareEnix has been struggling a bit as a developer but doing great as a publisher especially since they acquired Edios.
C31. Your least favorite developer.
I can't really hate on anyone off the top of my head.
C32. Your least favorite publisher.
Activision kinda seem like dicks. XD
-
C19. A music-related game (Guitar Hero, DDR, etc).
I think Guitar Hero because of how new it felt at the time. I was super into that game and it had the best soundtrack IMO. When you hit that final tier of songs, you knew you were in for a challenge. Bark At The Moon was a challenge from beginning to end. And you can't beat a bit of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Course these songs were extra difficult cause hammer ons and pull offs were less forgiving to do as well. Still, fun times.

C20. Favorite Zelda game.
Gotta be Ocarina of Time. One of the best games ever, Water Temple and all.

C10. Your favorite videogame character.
Kirby. I love the games, the anime... he has a copy ability!! How can you beat that! + He can fly and swim without the help of additional power ups!
-
C21. Your favourite Final Fantasy game.
No FF game is perfect but FFXII came pretty damn close. FFVII had the nostalgia of my first FF game and FFVIII has the best story. But XII was special in that it was the most fun game to play out of all of them. Loved the combat and the 'monster hunting' aspect of the game. On top of that, I adore the setting of Ivalice and it's faux-Shakespearean dialogue. The sheer scale of the environments made it feel like a massive world that I couldn't get enough of exploring it. It could be better, the story doesn't maintain interest after the halfway mark and Vaan and Penelo are completely useless characters who don't contribute to the story after that point. And perhaps some mini-games in there would provide another distraction and more reasons to play that other FF games did so well with Triple Triad and Blitzball. But still, there's a reason I've put in more hours with this game than any other main FF title.
C22. Favorite car combat game.
I'll have to pass on this one and say the only thing I've played that comes close to this is Super Mario Kart
-
C16. Game that most needs a sequel.
I'll take the fall and say Half-Life 2    (Ok not really a sequel since it'd be part 3, but...)
I HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED THIS GAME (yet, I do own it). But everyone's always making jokes/hopeless predictions about a Half-Life 3 release and if one actually came out, it'd be hilarious and a mindfuck and would create a ton of hype AND most importantly, would probably give us another badass game (again, I haven't finished any HL games yet because I suck, but their reputation speaks for itself).
...I really need to get to re-installing Half-Life so I can give it another try. Maybe I'll suck less
Anyway, basically, a 3rd part to Half-Life would be entertaining not only to those playing it, but anyone into gaming watching the release and after party unfold, too.
I can't really comment on whether the game NEEDS follow-up or not because I haven't played it, durrr.
-
It definately needs something. HL2:Episode 3 or an outright sequel in HL3 because let's say that Episode 2 sets things up on what to expect....and we're still waiting XD
...I really need to get to re-installing Half-Life so I can give it another try. Maybe I'll suck less
You might want to take a look at Black Mesa Source. It's a free HL1 mod out now, a revamped version of HL1 with updated graphics and a physics engine more closer to HL2. Though you'll need a Source engine game installed (I think L4D2 should be sufficient) to begin with and the mod (apparently) isn't quite finished and will only take you so far. Here's more detail (http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/09/14/black-mesa-source-finally-released-download-it-now/)
-
^ I've heard of it, yeah... I dunno, I think it's easier for me to dl the old one via Steam as before. Old graphics don't really bother me, either. I know Black Mesa is coming for Steam, too, but I might not have the patience to wait :P
-
C23. Favorite Pokemon game.
Uhhh pass. I'll say Pokemon Black for the craic
C24. Favorite Pokemon.
Charizard. Cause you don't mess with Charizard.
C25. Your favourite FPS and why.
COD4 easily had the best multiplayer experiences for me, playing with friends at Uni for all of first year and throughout the summer. Though I gotta say, Unreal Tournament holds a soft spot in my heart. Fast, frantic and a lot of fun to play, even against bots. And the map where you're fighting in an asteroid hovering around the Earth was epic.

C26. Game that you played longer than any other.
I think my save file in Dissidia Duodecim says it all. 197 hrs. And counting.
C27. Your favourite console generation and why.
I think it's this one in all honesty. There's just been so many good games released this gen. Plus when you take into consideration stuff like online play, downloadable games etc, it means more games are accessible than ever.
C28. The videogame character you would take to a Haunted House.
Jill Valentine. She's done it before and she's the master of unlocking after all.
