*Prologue*
Kizaki Yuria, ever since young, never did experience staying in a school for even just a whole year. Actually, the longest she’s even been in the same school was within a month, not long ever since she transferred in, she was forced to move into another house again, in another city and transfer into a new school. And it was all thanks to her parents who, as always, were too busy dealing with their work to even realize that they’ve been putting their daughter into trouble way too much. Sometimes, Yuria couldn’t help but wish that she could live alone in an apartment. Be it a crappy mere LDK or not, just as long as she doesn’t have to move away anymore, she’s fine with it.
And then, on her 14th birthday, as though the Gods from above had finally heeded her call, her parents gave her an apartment as a present. Apparently, they were moving away somewhere abroad, and since they somehow realized (finally) that taking her everywhere they go to would do no good regarding with her education at all, they’ve decided to finally set her free, letting her live on her own despite being in such a young age. Yuria assured them though, that she could at least fend herself with the self-defense moves her father taught her. And with that, she was free.
It’s kind of a surprise, really, that she managed to pass and end up in high school even though she was always transferring from one place to another- although, her grades isn’t really something she should be proud of… As they barely passed the average grade needed for her to graduate. Nonetheless! She managed to graduate from middle school, and for her first year in high school, she finally transferred to a new school- an all-girls school, to which she promised to continue at least a whole year in.
On her first day in Sakae Girl’s Academy, despite knowing no one at all in the class she ended up in, everyone welcomed her warmly. One Kimoto Kanon, who sat right in front of her, greeted her good morning just as soon as she sat down on her seat. And as it was the first day of school, and not in the middle of the school term, Yuria didn’t have to stand in front of a whole class for the first time to introduce herself, so receiving a good morning in the same fashion as the girl before her did- it was a new experience to her.
With Kanon ending up as the person she depends on the most in terms of getting to know the school better, Yuria slowly came to know some of Kanon’s group of friends, including the senpais who pamper her way too much. From Ogiso Shiori who, despite being three to four years older than the two of them, is also in the same class as they are due to her health, to Matsui Jurina- the girl who everyone seems to praise a lot, up to Kinoshita Yukiko who is a senpai to them, and dubbed as one of the school’s ace dancer.
Not long after, Yuria ended up being close friends with them too, with Ogiso Shiori as her so called partner-in-crime in terms of teasing poor Yukiko.
It was almost like a dream to her- finally gaining friends who she could spend the whole day with. And then she met another friend of Kanon, who is also a classmate of Yukiko- Yagami Kumi.
They got along well too, of course. The girl was on the same level as her or even worse in terms of educational things, after all (Actually, Kumi is better than her but she just refuses to accept it). But then all of the sudden,
“YURIAAAA~! I LOVE YOU! I’LL WATCH OVER YOU FOREVER! DO YOUR BEST!”
Kumi began on declaring her love to her oh so openly.
Of course, she doesn’t hate Kumi. She’s a great senpai after all, but it’s also because she’s a senpai that Yuria found it hard to respond to her sudden confessions- as a result, she would just reply with a mere “Kuu-chan~” to her. Sometimes, she would just ignore her as well, as Kumi would often go overboard if ever she pays attention to her.
She doesn’t hate Kumi, yes. She’s been saying that to everyone a whole lot already. But she doesn’t like her the way the seemingly thick-headed senpai does either. It’s more like… A friendly-like like?
Or at least she believes that it is.
