Title: Misuse of 9-1-1 charge lands woman in jail, growing trend

Giving thanks to Brevard County Sheriff Jack Parker for bologna sandwiches at the jail may be considered a sign of gratitude, but repeatedly calling 9-1-1 operators to do it...not such a good idea, say Palm Bay police.

Christine Lee Brown, 51, was charged with six felony counts of misuse of 9-1-1 communications after dispatchers alerted police to half a dozen calls placed Saturday.

“The last time I was arrested, the sheriff gave me his bologna sandwiches...I remember them,” Brown said, occasionally slurring her words as she talked with dispatchers at Palm Bay Police Department.

“Do you have an emergency,” an operator asked at one point.

“No...” she said, asking about cooking facilities at the jail, baked beans and rice and other items. (http://www.floridatoday.com/article/20121016/NEWS01/121016002/9-1-1-calls-thank-sheriff-jail-food-lands-woman-back-lunch-line%3Fodyssey=tab|topnews|text|Home?gcheck=1&nclick_check=1)
