What My Heart Wants To Say
“Bakamina, are you sure about this? You do know that Acchan’s going to kill me if something ever happen to you right?” asked Yuko, worried.
Takamina chuckled, “That’s exactly why she must not know, I want it to be a surprise.”.
Yuko was looking deeply into Takamina’s eyes, trying to find some hints to prove that her bestfriend might be just joking when she told her about her plan. As much as she wanted to further dig in the information from Takamina’s eyes, she couldn’t stare at the brunette girl any longer, because she might just burst into tears. The sight of Takamina was just heartbreaking. Yuko still remembered clearly in her mind how her bestfriend used to be. Takamina, as most people knew of, used to be a lively girl, dorky some might say, she always made everyone smile with her failed acts. Now, that Takahashi Minami had long gone. This Takahashi Minami who was in front of her had lost all the hints suggesting that she’s just a normal girl. Takamina was sick, very sick, to the point that the doctor had dropped the ultimatum on how long she’d got left on earth. She’s very pale, and skinny to the point that there were only skin and bones left of her. Needles were pinned through her skin and tubes were all over her body. It amazed Yuko that Takamina was still able to laugh in that condition.
“But your conditi….” Before Yuko finished, Takamina cut her off.
“I’m fine Yuko. Can’t you see?” Takamina wiggled her hands and made some dorky expressions with her face.
Yuko wanted to laugh but she couldn’t. For a moment there she thought the Takamina she used to know was back, but the reality hit her and she knew Takamina did that just to convince her. She didn’t know how much pain Takamina had been through, but if she could, she would gladly share it with her so that she could have her bestfriend back.
“But the doctor said….”
“please Yuko.” Again Takamina cut her off. “I don’t want to spend the remaining time I’ve got left just lying on this bed. I want to do something worthwhile, and it’s with Atsuko.” Takamina gave a weak smile. “I don’t know how much time I’ve got left. Which I’m sure it’s pretty soon…”
“Don’t you ever, EVER, say that again Minami!!!” snapped Yuko.
Takamina was startled by the way Yuko called her real name. Yuko had never called her real name for ages. Even though her other friends called her ‘Takamina’ Yuko had always stuck with ‘Bakamina’ the nickname she’d proudly given to her. From the way Yuko called her real name, the shorter girl knew that she was being serious.
“I just… when I’m gone I don’t want her to grieve over me. I want her to never change because of me. She has a lovable personality, and that’s why people adore her, “ just by talking about Atsuko brought smile to Takamina’s face. It was sincere and full of love. “It was the reason why I fell in love with her, and I don’t want to be the reason she change.”
“You know that’s impossible right? Atsuko loves you very much, I don’t think she will ever be the same.”
“I know! You have no idea how much I love her, that’s why I want to do this.” Takamina’s head hung low.
Seeing Takamina’s determination, Yuko sighed in defeat, “Fine, fine, how can I help?”
Takamina’s head lifted up and smile spread across her face. “Really?”
Yuko could actually see sparkles on Takamina’s eyes. “Yeah, yeah, what should I do?” asked Yuko, pretending to roll her eyes.
“Okay, here’s the plan…” just as Takamina was about to share her plan with Yuko, the door opened and walked in a tall, cat-liked girl.
“Oh, hey NyanNyan! I was just about to tell my plan to Yuko. Now that you’re here I can also get some reference from a girl’s point of view” said Takamina at the sight of Haruna coming to the room.
“Hey! I’m a girl too! And watch the language Bakamina! It’s only me who can call my NyanNyan, NyanNyan!” retorted Yuko, pushing Takamina lightly on her shoulder.
“What? Why?” asked Takamina with a hurt expression.
“Because you used to have a huge crush on my NyanNyan back in high school.” replied Yuko, squinting her eyes with a suspicious look to Takamina.
“it was like ages ago! And beside, I have my Atsuko! She’s way, waaayyyyyy more beautiful than your NyanNyan!” exclaimed Takamina, poking her index finger on Yuko’s forehead. Takamina then quickly turned to the tall beauty who was still standing near the entrance door, “Please don’t take that seriously NyanNyan, of course you’re beautiful. You’re just as beautiful as Atsuko.”
“I said stop calling her NyanNyan!” yelled Yuko. She quickly stood up from the bed and went in front of her girlfriend, raising both of her hands, pretending to be the great wall of china if possible to hide her precious girlfriend from Takamina's sight. “I now forbid you to call her NyanNyan ever again!” Yuko suddenly turned around and wrapped her arms around Haruna's waist, placing her head between the soft mounds Haruna possessed which is Yuko's favorite ‘hangout’ place.
it wasn't too long for Yuko's comfort until she heard a loud smack ringing over her ears and pain soon followed from the top of her head.
"i..itai" murmured Yuko.
"How many times have I told you not to do that in public?" asked Haruna, annoyed. She pushed the smaller girl away, and crossed her hands accross her chest.
"But there's only Bakamina here." answered Yuko, slightly pouting as she rubbed the spot on her head that her girlfriend just mercilessly hit.
"And she is sick, shouldn't you be taking care of her instead?" demanded Haruna. "I bet you were planting some perverted ideas on Takamina's head like you always do before I came in right?"
Before Yuko was able to retort back, Takamina has cut in, "No, believe me, this time she's not." chuckled Takamina, amused by the sight of the mini-quarrel the couple just had. "I'm actually the one who have some ideas here, but it's not perverted, so don't worry."
“What plan?” asked Haruna as she settled herself on Takamina's bed.
“Takamina want to give Acchan some kind of a-night-to-remember.” Answered Yuko.
“But the doctor said you cant leave the hospital. Acchan will kill us if she finds out. You know how scary she got toward something that is related to you. Do you even know how she looks at me when she sees us do just much as talking alone? it's like she wants to mutilate me!" explained Haruna in horror.
"Yup, yup, been there, saw that" agreed Yuko, raising her hand. "Even I don't have the guts to be around her when she turns into hulk-mode. Kinda wondered how you survive after all these years."
"So anyway, no, I think it's a bad idea." stated Haruna.
“That’s exactly what I said to her! But this shorty here wouldn’t listen.” Yuko pointed her finger to Takamina’s forehead and poked it continuously.
“Hey cut it out!” scolded Takamina. She slapped yuko’s finger from her forehead. Takamina then turned to Haruna.
“I know you care so much about me and Atsuko, but when I’m gone I want to…” before Takamina even finished, Yuko cut her off.
“Don’t even start on the dying thing again Bakamina.” Warned Yuko. Haruna knew that this was about the sensitive topic. She couldn’t imagine what’s going to happen to Acchan after Takamina’s gone. Even when Takamina was treated in the hospital, Haruna could hear Acchan cried herself to sleep in the apartment that they shared. Acchan often awoken from a nightmare of Takamina dying and cried her eyes out and Haruna would always be there to console her. It broke her heart to see the sight of her friend like that. So, if Takamina was trying to make Acchan a bit happier, or return the old Acchan if it’s possible, Haruna would definitely say yes to it.
“Okay, what’s the plan?” asked Haruna after much consideration.
“But first, you got to make a promise to me.”
Yuko and Haruna looked at each other confused.
“Take care of Atsuko will you? maybe I wouldn’t be there to protect her anymore but she still has you guys. She’s fragile, despite all of her efforts to show how strong she is. I hope you can be her source of support.” Takamina flashed a weak smile.
Yuko and Haruna both smiled sincerely. “We will.” Said Haruna.
“Now lets move on to the plan, shall we?” said Takamina averting the topic.
“Takamina has got to pay us back!! She basically drained out our wallet.” Complained Haruna while carrying a huge roll of wire. Yuko on the other hand was pushing a cart with gigantic speaker on it with one hand and her other hand was carrying a huge tube of fireworks. Being a gentlewomen that she was, she carried heavier things, not to mention double amount, than her girlfriend. They made their way to the city park, where Takamina would carry out her plan.
“Correction, MY wallet." said Yuko, "Thanks to God up there in heaven that shorty didn't ask us to prepare anything balloon-related."
Yuko then smiled, "I guess she’s just trying to cheer Acchan up.” Said Yuko. “But…”
“But what?” asked Haruna.
Yuko hang her head low. “I don’t know, it’s just, I have a bad feeling.”
“What do you mean?”
Trying to think positive, Yuko shrugged the thoughts out of her head. “Never mind. Whatever Takamina has got in her mind for Acchan I hope it’ll turn out well. Let’s go, we’re late already”
Sensing that something is wrong with Yuko, Haruna stopped on her track. Realizing that her girlfriend wasn’t beside her anymore, Yuko stopped and looked back.
“Yuu-chan, you don’t have any disease that you hide from me right?” asked Haruna.
“Eh?! No!!” replied Yuko. she was taken back by Haruna's question.
“Promise me something will you?” asked Haruna. Tears were on the corner of her eyes.
Yuko made her way to Haruna and dropped everything that she carried in her hands. She tiptoed on her feet and cupped Haruna's face with her hands, as she looked deeply into the brunette's eyes.
“Anything.” Said Yuko.
“Never ever leave me. don’t ever leave me alone Yuu-chan” Haruna's face now drenched with tears. She hugged Yuko tightly and buried her face on the crook of yuko's neck. “ I’m scared, I’m scared that I’m going to lose you just like what happened to Takamina and Acchan. I’m not strong yuu-chan. I cant, I just cant..”
“Shush shush,,, it’s going to be okay. I won’t go anywhere. I’ll always be here with you.” Said Yuko while stroking Haruna's back, calming her. But Haruna's sob was even louder. Yuko pulled away from the hug and cupped Haruna's cheeks with her hands.
“Hey, hey look at me.” said Yuko. Their eyes were now on the same level.“You still have a long, long, long way to go to get rid of me. I wont leave you, I promise. I’ll always be with you NyanNyan, because I love you. I love you so much.” Yuko tiptoed and pressed her lips on Haruna's cheek, kissed away the tears. Then she move downward and brought her lips to Haruna's.
“What took them so long? Atsuko could be here any minutes now.” said Takamina to herself. She was waiting for Yuko's signal to sign her that everything was prepared. Suddenly her phone on the desk next to her hospital bed vibrated. It’s Yuko calling.
“Hello, what took you so long?!!” answered Takamina right away without giving the caller a chance to speak.
“Sorry midget, something came up. Everything’s ready here.”
“The music?”
“yup.”
“The speaker”
“yup”
“The firework?”
“All set, all you have to do Is bring her here.”
Takamina paused for a moment. “Hello?? Bakamina, you there??” called Yuko.
“Thanks Yuko. for everything. Thanks for being the best bestfriend anyone could ask for. I’m glad I sat next to you on our first day of elementary school.” Takamina smiled as she recalled the memory. “I know I don’t say this often because it’s kinda gross but, I love you Yuko.”
There’s a long silence between the two. On the other line, Yuko's face was already drenched with tears.
“Yuko?” called Takamina.
“Dude that’s totally gay.” Said Yuko to lighten up the mood.
“Hey!!! I am gay!!” laughed Takamina. “But seriously, thanks.”
“Anytime kid. Now you better get your and Acchan's asses down here A.S.A.P, because my NyanNyan is freezing to death!!!” with that, Yuko hung her phone.
“Damn squirrel” chuckled Takamina. As she was about to put her phone on the desk, there was this throbbing pain on her chest. She clutched her eyes shut and bit her lips to hold the pain. The pain was blinding, her eyes became blurry.
“Oh no, not now, please not now.. at least give me a chance to say what I want to say to her…” she held on the railing of her bed. She held it very tightly that she could feel her hands became numb.
“oh god,, oh god,,, think of her… think of her… her smiles… her voice… her pouts… her lips… her kiss… her hugs.. Atsuko… Atsuko…”
As if on cue, the certain girl peeked her head from the door. “Mi.na.mi ??” she called.
“At..Atsuko..” didn’t want to worry the girl, she tried to hold back all of her pains. Takamina found it really strange that just by looking at the brown haired girl smiling at her, all of her pains were all gone. If she could, she’d want to see that smile forever, but she knew she couldn’t. she knew all along that her time was short and that’s why she planned all of this. She didn’t want to be the cause of Atsuko's tears, she wanted to be make the girl happy in any ways that she could.
Atsuko could literally hear her heart breaking at the sight of Takamina in front of her. Why did everytime she visit her, Takamina always looked skinnier and paler? She wanted to cry right there right now, but she couldn’t. She didn’t want Takamina to see her cry for it would pain Takamina even more than she already did. Maeda Atsuko made her way to Takamina and kissed the girl’s forehead. “I miss you Minami.” She looked lovingly into Takamina's eyes.
“I miss you too.” Takamina smiled, showing her pearly white teeth. Not long after, she pouted. “Not on the lips?”
“Awww, you’re cute, why you have to be so cute??” said Atsuko while pinching Takamina's cheek.
“Ouch… it hurts.” Said Takamina rubbing her cheek with her hand.
“Awww I’m sorry.” Atsuko leaned forward and kissed Takamina on the place where she pinched earlier.
“These kinda hurt too.” Grinned Takamina, pointing at her lips.
Atsuko leaned forward and brushed her lips against Takamina. Atsuko's lips tasted so soft and warm, Takamina wanted to taste them forever if she could. Takamina deepened the kiss, being afraid of the fact that that could be the last time she kissed her Atsuko. Their lips parted when air became necessary. They gazed through each other eyes. no words were needed, their eyes said it all.
“I want to show you something.” Takamina broke the silence. Without warning Takamina pulled out the needles on the back of her hand.
Atsuko gasped in surprise, “MINAMI?!!! What are you doing?”
Takamina got off from the bed and changed her patient robe to her casual outfits. She didn’t even bother to answer Atsuko's question as she changing her clothes. When she’s done, she offered her hand to Atsuko.
“Just come with me will you? I want to show you something. Please.”
Atsuko hesitated for a moment but seeing Takamina's eyes, she knew she couldn’t do or say anything to change her girlfriend’s mind. So, she took her hand and walked outside the hospital room.
In some part of the park, Haruna and Yuko were hiding behind the bushes, waiting for Takamina and Atsuko to arrive. Yuko had her hands around Haruna's shoulder to warm her up from the cold weather, rubbing her hand with the side of Haruna's hand.
“Takamina is very romantic, you know?” whispered Haruna so that no one could hear and find where they were.
Yuko pouted at the statement, "what are you implying NyanNyan? Am I not romantic enough to you?"
Haruna smiled, and poked Yuko's dimple, her favorite feature of her girlfriend, "no silly, I'm just saying."
Yuko chuckled weakly, “Yes she is. But don’t you think it’s going to break Acchan's heart even more is she’s doing this?”
Haruna lowered her head. Yuko was right, what’s the point of making Acchan all happy and smiley when she knew eventually Takamina's gonna leave her and left the girl crushed. Haruna didn’t even want to imagine what’s gonna happen to Acchan next, for Takamina is the girl’s whole life. Takamina had change Acchan into who she was today, If she’s all bubbly and smiley that’s all because of Takamina.
“yuu-chan, whatever happens next, we have to be strong for Acchan.” Haruna broke the silence. “it’s going to break her.”
“yeah I know.” Replied Yuko looking at Haruna's eyes. She could tell that her girlfriend was about to cry. So she held her into her arms. “that stupid midget. She’s really good at making everyone’s crying.”
They stayed at that position for some time, until they heard the familiar voice approaching.
“Minami we should just go back to the hospital...”.
That was Acchan's. They peeked through the bushes and saw the couple coming toward the intended area.
“it’s on baby.” smirked Yuko to Haruna. “turn everything on.” Instructed Yuko
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Minami, what are we doing here?” asked Atsuko as they got off the cab.
“just wait and see.” Teased Takamina.
The park was quiet, only few people spotted walking or just sitting in the park because it was almost midnight now. They walked further to the center of the park. Takamina could feel the pain in her chest striking in every steps that she took, but she chose to ignore it. She put on her brightest smile for the girl next to her so that she wont be worried over her.
“we should just get back to the hospital, I’m afraid something might be..”
Takamina stopped her track and cut Atsuko off with her finger on her girlfriend’s lips.
“Just please,” Takamina brought her forehead to Atsuko's “pretend that I’m the old-healthy-Minami. Okay?”
Atsuko slowly nodded and Takamina pulled away. She stared into Atsuko's eyes to assure the girl that she’s fine. They continued walking hand in hand with Takamina's leading. As they got closer to the centre of the park, from the distance they could see a microphone standing there at the middle of the grass field. A huge smile spread across Takamina's face, knowing that her bestfriend had settled everything in place. Takamina headed to the microphone and reached it. She placed the mic in front of her mouth.
“Ehm, check, check.” Takamina's voice blasted from the gigantic speaker that was placed just a few feet away from the microphone. Atsuko was taken aback. Before she could even say anything, Takamina brought her to sit on the bench just in front of where the mic’s standing and gestured Atsuko to be quiet by putting her finger in front of her lips.
“Let me do the talking.” Whispered Takamina to Atsuko ear. She walked back to the microphone.
“Hey there the most amazing lady I’ve ever met.” Waved Takamina to Atsuko. Atsuko waved back and flashed her smile. The smile that could make Takamina’s heart beat two times faster, and make her forget all of her pains.
“You have no idea how lucky I am to have you in my life. you’ve made these past five years worthwhile Atsuko. If I haven’t met you I’m sure I must’ve died years ago. Even when sometimes I troubled you with my illness, never at once you left me alone. You’re always by my side through everything. I thank you for that, thank you for having faith in me.” Atsuko was about to stand up to go to Takamina but she stopped her by motioning her to sit still.
“But I’m defeated Atsuko, I don’t think I can hold on for too long. I wish I could grow old with you. I wish I could have you by my side everytime I opened my eyes in the morning and everynight when I’m going to sleep, but I know I couldn’t. I love you Atsuko, any words cannot describe how I feel about you. But tonight I’m gonna try my best to describe it to you and I want the whole world to hear it” Smiled Takamina to Atsuko. She could see that her girlfriend’s face was already glistening with tears. Then she clapped her hands giving signal to Yuko and Haruna to turn on the music. The music blasted through the speaker.

You're amazing
So amazing
Have I told you
Enough
You're my angel
Guardian angel
God knows I've been blessed with love
Atsuko covered her mouth with her hand to hold back the overflowing tears. She couldn’t believe Takamina has prepared all of this for her. Takamina's got the most amazing voice, even in her unhealthy condition she could bring out powerful voice. Atsuko remembered how Takamina's voice always lulled to sleep.
But if I been gone tomorrow
Would you know how deep my loves goes
Have I ever told you
You're the one
If the words don't come my way
Hope its still love
Hope it still shows
If the words don't come my way
Hope you still know what my heart wants to say
A love so tender
I surrender
To this feeling
So true
My affirmation
My inspiration
Darling I have been blessed with you
If the words don't come my way
Hope you still know
Hope it still shows
If the words don't come my way
I hope you still know what my heart wants to say
But if I be gone tomorrow
Would you know how deep my loves goes
If I was gone forever
Would you know how much I care
You make me feel like flying
I'm sailing on your ocean
That everytime you look at me
You see it in my eyes
If the words don't come my way
I hope you still know
If the words don't come my way
I hope you still know
I hope it still shows
If the words don't come my way
I hope you still know
What my heart wants to say
Takamina clapped her hands one more time. As if on cue, colorful fireworks shot to the sky, decorating the dark sky which was already covered with sparkling stars.
If the words don't come my way
I hope you still know
Hope it still shows
If the worst don't come my way
I hope you still know
I hope it still shows
I hope still you know
What my heart wants to say
When the music had stopped, she made her way to Atsuko who sat on the bench. Takamina kneeled before her and cupped Atsuko's cheek with her hand. Takamina thumbs wiped away the tears from Atsuko's face. “Hey, don’t cry.” pleaded Takamina. “Please. I want you to promise me that tonight you wont be crying. Can you do that?”
Atsuko shook her head. She couldn’t do it, how could she possibly do that. Fear of losing Takamina had scared the living out of her.
“Please?” Takamina pleaded once again. “It’s not like I’m dying Atsuko.” joked Takamina. Takamina cursed herself in her mind. How could she say that? Because the fact was she knew she really was dying. She’s already dying when she saw tears on Acchan's face and knowing that it was her who caused it, pained her even more. “I’m not worth your tears.” That did it. Atsuko stood up from the bench, she’s mad. Takamina was taken aback,
“You’re worth it Minami.” Sobbed Atsuko. “You’re worth everything, you’re worth my life! how could you say that? Don’t you know how I feel?”
Takamina hugged Atsuko tightly. Atsuko's scent hit her nostril. She’s gonna miss this, the smell of Atsuko's scent, the feel of Atsuko in her arms, she’s gonna miss her. “I’m sorry.” Was all Takamina could say. Atsuko was trying so hard not to cry, but she failed.
“Hey, you promised not to cry.” Said Takamina. She pulled away from the hug and wiped Atsuko's tears with her thumb. “I have one last thing to ask.”
Atsuko could only stay silent. She hated the way Takamina talked because it felt like she’s saying her goodbyes.
“When I’m gone..” Takamina was stopped by Atsuko's finger pressed on her lips. Takamina grabbed a hold on Atsuko's hand and brought it down. “When I’m gone, please be the way you used to be. Don’t change for me. Keep smiling and move on. I know you’ll find someone who’s better than me” Takamina flashed a weak smile, stroking Atsuko's long, brown hair with her fingers.
“How can I be smiling when you’re gone?“
Takamina stayed silent. She didn’t know how to answer it, so she thought of the best way she could do to calm the love of her life. She leaned forward to capture Atsuko's lips. They kissed like never kissed before, as if it’s the last kiss they shared. Takamina ignored the pain in her chest that was erupting when she kissed Atsuko. She wanted to savor the moment, wanted to feel Atsuko's lips on hers for the last time. Takamina let out a cough while they’re kissing. She pulled back and lowered her hand.
Atsuko felt something wet on her lips, it didn’t taste the same like they kissed before. It tasted like copper,,,, blood. Atsuko lifted up Takamina's head with her finger on her girlfriend's chin. Takamina quickly wiped away the blood on her lips with the back of her hand and swallowed the rest of the blood in her mouth.
“Minami? Are you okay? Lets get back to the hospital now.” said Atsuko. Before she could pulled Takamina's hand to start walking, but Takamina held her.
“Look at you, all smudged with my blood.” Takamina let out a chuckle. With her thumb she wiped away her blood which all over Atsuko's lips.
“It’s not funny! Come on lets go back to the hospital!"
“Could we just stay here Atsuko? Please.” Takamina gave out that look, the look that Atsuko couldn’t resist.
“But…”
“Please. Come, let's lay on that ground.” Takamina intertwined her fingers with Atsuko and brought her to the field of soft grass. They laid on the soft grass with Takamina's hand wrapped around Atsuko and Atsuko's head rested on Takamina's chest. Atsuko could hear Takamina's heart beat weakly in her chest. They looked up at the starry sky. They stayed still for couple of minutes till Takamina broke the silence.
“I’m going to be one of the stars above and watching over you.” Said Takamina pointing at the sky. Atsuko reached Takamina's hand in the air and intertwined their fingers.
"Minami?"
"hm?"
"Thank you."
"what for"
"Thank you for loving me"
Hearing her girlfriend's statement brought a weak smile on Takamina's face.
"Have you ever regretted loving me?" asked Takamina.
"No. Never. Not for a day, not for an hour, not for a minute, even not for a second." answered Atsuko. She looked up to takamina's face and locked her gaze with her tiny girlfriend. "Why would you think so?"
"Because I'm a bad girlfriend." Answered Takamina. "I was never around, I rarely take you out to movies, romantic dinner, pick you up from the office, or all other activities that can be sum up into what they call a perfect date. Most of my times I spent was in the hospital or curled up in my bed because I was so weak. What's even worse is that i can' t protect you, I cant take care of you the way i should be, the way i wanted it to be. It's always you who's patiently taking care of me. i'm qualified as the worst girlfriend ever don't you think? Sometimes I even wondered whether you stay with me out of pity."
Atsuko placed her free hand on Takamina's cheek and caressed it lovingly, "I love you. I love everything about you. You're still the same person i fell in love with back in high school, you've never changed. Though there's time when you tried to push me away, I would never let you do that because... " Atsuko inhaled a large amount of air as she found a difficulty in breathing for holding back her sobs. "Because I realized being with you completes me. You make me a better person, and I love who I am when I'm with you."
Takamina displayed her widest smile that night, " you don't know how happy I am to hear that." Takamina tightened her hold around Atsuko, trying to engulf herself in the warmth that the latter provided.
"Atsuko, I'm cold." Said Takamina.
"Please don't leave me Minami," sobbed the taller girl.
"I'll try, I've tried hard"
"Promise me you have to continue living, fulfill your dreams even it's not with me. Promise me to not be afraid to fall in love again, find one that's healthy and won't leave you like I do. You're gonna die an old lady and surrounded by the people who love you. And until that day comes, I will be waiting for you patiently."
Atsuko bit her lips hard to hold back the tears. Somehow Atsuko felt that this was the last time she’d ever hear Takamina's voice. She’s gonna miss Takamina's voice which lulled her to sleep, her voice when she whispered sweet nothing to her ear, her voice when she said “I love you” , her voice when she scolded Atsuko if she’s not taking care of herself, she’s going to miss Takamina for the rest of her life.
“I love you Minami.” Said Atsuko looking up to Takamina's face.
Takamina flashed a weak smile. “I love you too, very much.” Takamina snuggled closer to Atsuko. “I’m a bit tired Atsuko, is it okay if I sleep here? It’s so comfortable being in your arms.”
Atsuko nodded. She stroked the brunette hair with her fingers to lull her to sleep.
"I'm scared that i will never feel the rest of my whole life the way i feel when i'm with you" stated Atsuko. At that moment, she couldn’t hear takamina's heartbeat anymore. Takamina's gone, the love of her life’s gone in her arms. She knew she had promised Takamina not to cry, but she couldn’t. “I’m sorry Minami. It hurts, it hurts so much” Said Atsuko before she bursted out to tears. She hugged Takamina's body tightly in her arms. Her sob could be heard all over the park.
Not to far from where Takamina and Atsuko laid, stood two figures witnessing the whole heartbreaking scene. Both were crying hard. Yuko dropped herself to her knees. Her bestfriend was gone, the bestfriend who she pulled prank on someone with, the bestfriend who she skipped class with back at school, the bestfriend who she often mocked for being 5cm shorter than her, the bestfriend who loved to fail so much, the very bestfriend that Yuko could ask for was now gone. Haruna was not any better, she covered her mouth with her hand to avoid letting out her sobbing. Four of them had been very good friends for more than 5 years. And she gotta admit that Takamina had a good heart, she didn’t deserve to have such a short age. That’s why Haruna often thought that the world was unfair. She kneeled beside Yuko and hugged her girlfriend. Yuko was now crying hard on Haruna's embrace.
Trying to hold back her tears, Haruna said “Remember what Takamina said to us, we promised to take care of Acchan, we have to be strong for her yuu-chan.”
Yuko tried to stop her tears from coming and wipe away the tears on her face with her hands. “You’re right. It’s the least that we can do for her.” They both could hear Atsuko's sobs getting louder and louder, so they decided to approach the girl. The sight in front of them pained their heart. Atsuko was clutching to Takamina's shirt crying her eyes out while Takamina laid there motionless. Haruna laid beside Atsuko and hugged her from behind, trying to console the girl like she always did whenever she had a nightmare about Takamina and now Atsuko's worst nightmare had come true. Haruna stroked Atsuko's hair trying to calm the girl.
“She’s gone now, Minami's gone. I dont think I could carry on without her, I’m not that strong.” Sobbed atsuko.
“We shouldn’t be grieving for her, acchan, she’s in a better place now and at least she’s no longer in pain. Isn’t that what you want for her? ” Haruna couldn’t even imagine if she’s in Atsuko state now. the pain must be unbearable.
Yuko followed suit and laid beside Takamina's body. She looked up to the sky and said “wait for us up there midget, don’t you dare have all the fun without us.” Atsuko tried to stop her crying and looked above. She remembered Takamina said that she’s going to watch over her from above.
So the three bestfriends laid there looking up to sky, hoping that somehow there was a sign from Takamina saying yes to them. As if a miracle, one star twinkled brighter than the others.

Well hello people!!! :cow: I'm back with another fic at last! Well actually it's not "me" who's back, it's actually my sister.. She's been writing this fic and I'm just helping her to post it, so basically I'm just a messenger. get it? 8)
This time it will be Atsumina because who doesn't love Atsumina really? and partly because they've been missed  enough with my rambling, so this fic tells pretty much a chronology of what had happened during Acchan's post-graduation period up until now (at least that's what my sister's imagined to have happened), because of that probably some past events at that time will be brought up as the story goes.. Yup yup, so she had her imagination going haywire and she ended conjuring up this fic :nervous
Without further ado, enjoy the prologue!!!
A comment from you will be really well appreciated

Prologue
“The moment you walk out of the door, we’re over!” Her chest heaved up and down, out of breath, from all the yelling she’d been doing.
The other girl, the shorter one by figure, stopped on her track just as she turned the doorknob open. Takahashi Minami chuckled bitterly before turning around to face the brunette haired girl. She could see dried tears had made trails down the latter’s cheeks, and she couldn’t help but to spend a few seconds to study her girlfriend’s facial features. Her eyes finally made a stop on the taller girl’s eyes and locked her gaze with hers. Takamina could read everything from her girlfriend’s eyes, just like an open book. Her eyes were emitting anger, determination, and seriousness. Takamina let out a sigh before responding to what she had said.
“Look at what we have become. We’re not us anymore. It’s just you, and then there’s me” reasoned Takamina calmly. “face it, this is not working out.”
“And in case you haven’t realized it, I think we’re already over.” Added Takamina before stepping out of the door and slamming the door closed with a loud bang.
Maeda Atsuko was taken aback by the loud sound of her apartment door being closed. Anger rose within her. Before she realized it, she had reached for the vase placed by the table near her and threw it against the entrance door.
“Minami I hate you! Just go! I don’t ever want to see your face again!” shouted Atsuko as the glass from the vase was shattered into pieces and scattered all over the floor.
Her lips parted, gasping for air to enter her lung. She was startled by a sudden drop of water hit her hand. She looked up to ceiling, trying to find the source only to apprehend that it was coming from her eyes. Realization struck her that she had been crying. She quickly wiped them away with her hands, wanting to rid of that sign of weakness, sign of regret. After all the fights they’d been having the past few months, Atsuko thought that she’d had enough. Her girlfriend had changed, or so she thought. She’d become overly possessive, overly sensitive, and when they started yelling at each other eventually Minami would always bring up her selfishness to graduate from the group, putting the blame on her. If ending things with Minami was what she really wanted, she should be relieved that they finally broke up, right? Then why did her heart feel like it’d been pricked by hundreds of needles?
Atsuko covered her face with the palms of her hands and sobbed against them. She broke down and let herself drop onto the floor. She bawled her eyes out as she called for Minami’s name repeatedly.
“Minami please come back.”
