Shukan Bunshun reports that Yuppai has (had?) an affair with singer ISSA, head of hip hop group DA PUMP, who had announced his engagement to actress Fukumoto Sachiko only last year. He performed alongside Masuda in "The Wiz".
Bunshun says the photos Angelii posted above were shot November 7th - the day of Yuka's return to the AKB theater. We see her arriving at ISSA's apartment (which is thought to be a second place he's renting for his stays in Tokyo, considering he lives with his fiancé in Okinawa) at 10:40 p.m. and it appears none of the two left the place before next evening/twenty hours later.
Office 48 told Bunshun that Masuda along with other fellow musical actors did indeed visit ISSA's apartment, but that it was all on a purely professional level.
Interesting is the statement of ISSA's office. According to them, ISSA and Fukumoto have broken off their engagement. But they deny any private involvement with Masuda.
Oh heck no, I know they're not targeting Masuda Yuka, now :angry:

To everyone,
I am sorry that i wasn't able to update this blog for some time.
It is kind of sudden but,
tomorrow an article about me will be published in a weekly magazine.
The topic of that is about me staying in the house of ISSA-san from DA PAMP.
There are parts of the article that are not true, but it is a fact that I had stayed in his house.
Because I have caused worry to a lot of people because of my actions, and I have disappointed the people who have been supporting me, my team members, my juniors, staff and family.
After this, what should I do? I thought about various alternatives, to take responsibility, this is really sudden, but I think I will hand over my resignation from AKB48.
The fans who have been supporting me all the way from the beginning, I feel really regretful that my resignation had to come in such a way.
Because my article has caused worries to a lot of people, I wanted to convey my apologies directly using my own words, that is why
I am writing this in my blog.

She has her musical stuff going on and I think she wants to focus on that. It's what makes her happy, right.
Yuka isn't stupid, she known very well what she can and cannot do and what the consequences are.
It sucks though, because when you resign you don't get a graduation concert/ceremony.
She's been with the group since April 2006, so that's around 6.5 years!
It's a shame to "throw it away" like this. A proper ending would have been nicer.
At least she has a good career going now, unlike some of the other girls who have dropped out over the years.
DiVa was already on thin ice with Sae going to China, but now it'll be even harder for them.
I wouldn't want to be the girl who has to fill Yuka's position. I guess we'll see how that turns out.
But yeah, suck to see her go, that's for sure.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way but I don't think it comes as too much of a surprise.
Whether anything happened between her and ISSA is almost irrelevant.
Others have been in similar positions or worse and still chose to continue with AKB, albeit with sacrifices.
The fact that she decided to not perform at the Tokyo Dome, AKB's dream, because of "WIZ" showed to me that she was prepared to give up AKB to chase her dreams.
Also I agree with SomethingWild-san it is a shame that it is resignation instead of graduation since she is a 2nd gen member and really deserved a proper sending off.
Hopefully this sort of ending to her time at AKB doesn't have a bad effect on the rest of her career.
Really sad about this news, since she was a huge reason for me being interested in AKB, and I seriously wish her success in whatever she chooses to do.

Damn. Definitely feels sad if Yuka leaves AKB like this without a proper grad event.
Reading the details, it's just like Sayaka's scandal 2 years ago. If Yuka wanted to stay I think she'd honestly have a good fighting chance. Maybe recently all the older members have been discussing graduation more seriously, after Acchan leaving. That and getting an experience starring in Wiz probably pushed her to give such a quick decision/response.
I have never seen an idol announce a grad then take it back, so I won't be waiting for a miracle to happen. Like SW said, DiVA... and basically all the sub-units have been in a stand-still this year (WH7 hurt from grads/shuffles and an imbalance in members, FK has Yuki going solo and Akicha in JKT, and NY kinda has 4 members in 4 teams... :P). Yuttan is probably one of the only members I feel confident can work solo. Purely with her talent, and not using any of her popularity from AKB. So I hope it all turns out well.
Still sucks for the team to lose one of their best singers/performers.

I can see her wanting to graduate after getting her role in the Wiz, but if I were in her place, I would definitely prefer graduation to resignation. So unless I am understanding you incorrectly, I don't see why this would be purposeful. If you mean that she made a conscious decision to resign as a result of the scandal, which was not deliberate, than I can understand.

I always thought there's exist a lot of similarities between the two nations acutally. :nervous
This include the way they drive, both are island nations just off the continent, both are constitutional monarchy, both have a Liberal Democratic Party, love for Yaoi (not sure about yuri lol), their love for genre of detective/suspense entertainment, & the high percentage of people watching tv in both nations. Now I guess we just need to add a notorious tabloid press. :nervous

I think alot of people feel this way, but are denying it. I think that's what I'm doing anyway :cry:
The announcement was so immediate, that it feels like she was looking for an excuse—almost. You're
right that AKB48 doesn't have much to offer her anymore, with all the new member pushes. But, I still
don't like to see her go, not this way.

Not a happy turn of events for anyone involved.Yuka has had a great year, and sad to see a resignation, rather than a graduation.
She has a wonderful voice, and a smile that could melt icebergs. Those weekly magazines are part of the entertainment scene, but wish that they did not have so much influence.
Will continue to follow and support Yuka, she has been a great joy to watch over the years.Ganbatte!

I don't think she did this "on purpose", but from how quick her decision came she doesn't seem that resolute about AKB48. That's been obvious for a while. Skipping TOKYO DOME of all things was a big clue. And really, if that's how she or anyone else feels, then they should go. There's plenty of girls out there that being in AKB is their whole dream. Not that I want to see her gone so quickly, but yeah..
I hate to see her bow out on such a low note, though. Japan's entertainment industry doesn't like shit like this so it will stain her name a bit in some circles. However, given her talent and interest, she's going into an industry that may not care as much about silly tabloid "omg you like boiz" scandals. I mean, without the idol mark it means pretty much nothing. I think she understands she's gotten what she needed from AKB48. She's getting out there and getting work, it'll get to a point (if it hadn't already) that AKB was more in the way than anything else. This isn't a situation like Sashihara where it's worth her effort to fight and stay in AKB48 post-scandal, or for management to fight to keep her. I don't mean that as an insult towards Yuka, that's just... how it is. I think she knows that, too.
I hope she finds the success she wants. She's definitely got the talent, way too much talent to be only an AKB theater girl.

I think this is a little too selfish on her part. We're all well aware that she's got her own ambitions for her talent, and we should let her pursue those, but all of a sudden announcing a resignation which can shake the "great singers of AKB" aspect? She could've made it a bit gentler. I do agree on SomethingWild that she prolly did this on purpose, it almost looks like she really set the scandal and timed it with the release so she's set free from the strict "no love or relations" rule of idols. But then...
At least graduate instead! At least let your fans see you on the stage perform on the last day and say a proper goodbye!
Sigh, not that we can do anything about this. She's got everyone's support and everyone's gonna keep up that support. :)

After reading the article and all the related reports, as well as messages from everyone, I feel that my blog post yesterday was written poorly and did not say everything I wanted to say, which made more people worry about me.
The article used words like "passionate love" and "adultery", which really shocked me because these are really not true.
I was able to build many relationships with other performers, which includes ISSA-san.
We talked about our dreams, futures, acting and singing.
Every day we talked about various things. ISSA-san, as one of the performers, is like a brother to me and there are no romantic feelings whatsoever.
However, it was true that I acted inconsiderately, so it is not surprising this incident was written up that way. I am very very sorry.

I'm not surprised at her graduating, especially as she has been withdrawing from big AKB events like Janken and Tokyo Dome. She seems to have carved out a future career for herself so I wish her all the best.
Btw, why do people say she won't get a goodbye performance? There has been no mention of that, and the AKB48 staff blog even said that they are still scheduling her final arrangements (see two posts above).

I feel it coming. Skipping TOKYO DOME & withdrawal from Janken Tournament indicates she "dumps" AKB to pursue her dream. But it's just......too soon :banghead:
Well, AKB suffers a great loss since Yuka is such a good singer (the best in the group IMO). I don't know who could replace her. Wasamin, maybe? But she's more interested with her enka career and sure it took time to be the same level as Yuka.
Dang....this such a heart-breaking year :cry:. But I wish her good luck for her future career. I know Takoyaki Musume gonna make it.

She won the competition to be Dorothy so it's not like she was going to put in half the effort into being Dorothy in order to go to Tokyo Dome and/or the janken taikai... i think she made the right decision to put 100% into the Wiz musical, it's just a shame the Dome concert was on at the same time

It's faster and it immediately clears her of the idol image. IIRC, artists like Matsuura Aya struggled to get a new career going because she was still seen as "the idol."

Hmm, good point. I automatically assumed that people who are forced to quit due to a scandal don't get a graduation ceremony. However, Yuka sorta falls in between because she resigned on her own accord even though a "scandal" triggered it.

THIS. Tokyo Dome is an epitome of succes and this was/is the group's dream. Her decision to not attending Tokyo Dome means she put aside the group's dream and pursue her own.
Anyway the picture from the performance above, does it mean she's graduated?

I highly doubt that the scandal itself was done on purpose. My guess is that she was already contemplating graduation as early as when she won the Dorothy role. The scandal was simply the catalyst for her to make that decision. The final straw so to speak.

On November 29th, AKB48’s Masuda Yuka performed with Team K at AKB48 Theater in Akihabara.
Masuda recently confirmed that she had spent the night at DA PUMP member ISSA’s place and
announced her withdrawal from the group. She appeared on stage with a smile and introduced herself as
usual, but turned serious as she started, “I have something to apologize to everybody about.”
“What appeared on today’s weekly magazine has caused trouble and concern to many people including
the fans who have supported me, and the members, staff, family and friends who are close to me. I am
very sorry,” she said and lowered her head. She added, “How I’m feeling now is written in my blog.”
Masuda also revealed, “I started a musical called ‘WIZ ~Oz no Mahoutsukai~’, and I learned many
things about singing and acting from all points of view. I wanted to learn more and more new things. For
me, it was a period when I was thinking about graduating.”
“To take responsibility for disappointing and troubling my important friends, I will withdraw from AKB48,”
she apologized and continued by expressing, “Honestly, right now in this theater, I didn’t think I would
get encouragement from everyone. Although I have mixed feelings, I will take each and every word to
heart, and would like to enjoy this performance together with everyone.”
Masuda’s graduation date will be announced once its been decided.

the handshaking session. Our General Manager Mr. Togasaki announced that it
has been confirmed that my final event as an AKB member will be the “AKB

It’s been announced that Masuda Yuka’s final day of activities as an AKB48 member will be on
December 17th’s ‘AKB48 Kohaku Taikou Uta Gassen‘.
As previously reported, Masuda admitted that she had spent the night at DA PUMP member ISSA’s
place, and announced her withdrawal from AKB48. Masuda once again apologized to her fans during a
handshake event for “Gingham Check” on December 1st. She then revealed that she will continue her
activities until the upcoming ‘AKB48 Kohaku Taikou Uta Gassen’ on the 17th.
This will be the group’s 2nd time to hold ‘AKB48 Kohaku Taikou Uta Gassen’. The members will be split
up into to two teams (red and white) and will challenge each other in a singing battle.

I gotta say that teacher really impressed me
I have never had any interest in musicals but the whole show was practically for Yuka ^_^, felt so happy that people immediately realise what an amazing talent Yuka is even though it's in America and Yuka's english was pretty bad (although she did get better quickly through the training that only Yuka seemed to receive XD)
