Few seconds of song still sounds kinda bland. ;)That was my first impression when only hearing the chorus preview at first, but just like the recent Berryz single I'm liking this more after hearing the whole thing. My comparison to certain past singles wasn't meant to be completely negative, especially considering I liked the songs in question, but the string patterns just sounded a bit too familiar for me. But hearing the rest of the song and all of the pieces come together left a better impression on me.

Very nice beat, and liking it much more after a few listens.
The whole PV had around 4-5 cuts though. Normal PVs they only need 1-2 cuts. Making me wonder if a perfect run of this dance is even humanly possible. :nervous

Is it just me or do they always put Zukki in the most unflattering costumes? The designers are either trolling her or they just have no idea how to design something for someone with a larger figure than the rest of the girls. :(They have no idea how to design something for a larger figure. See: shit that Makoto and Yossi used to wear during their larger periods, what Risako sometimes wears... It's like their idea of a dressing someone that isn't skinny is to HIDE IT WITH A PILE OF FABRIC... But that just makes it worse.. -_-

Lmao the first day sales basically outdid some of the entire week's sales for some of the Platinum era singles.Even better: "Help Me" sold more in its first day than the first week sales of singles 28 through 49--that's everything from "Chokkan 2" to "Renai Hunter"! And that first day outsold the total sales of almost everything since 2005, the exceptions being "Wakuteka", "One Two Three", "Nanchatte Renai", "Kanashimi Twilight", "Iroppoi Jirettai", and "The Manpower"...and a few of those will definitely be surpassed within the next day or two if they haven't already.
love the single but while I was humming the chorus I caught myself thinking of Eminem's My Salsa part at the end of d-12's My Band single.I can't believe I never made that connection myself before! XD Yeah, I can definitely hear the resemblance. Maybe something to consider sampling if I ever decide to go through with my own remix of "Help Me"...

This single also allowed Morning Musume to be the 3rd female artist to have topped the chart in each of the past 3 decades.
They accomplished this in the 1990s (with “Daite HOLD ON ME!” & “LOVE Machine”), in 2000s (with “Happy Summer Wedding” & “I WISH”), and 2010s (with “Help me!!”).
The only other 2 female artists to accomplish this are Nakajima Miyuki and Hamasaki Ayumi.

^Riho revealed on her blog that her throat has been having issues for the first half of January. Can't remember which post it was, but her voice has gotten back to normal only this week. The recording for Happy Music was a couple of weeks ago, so her voice was...probably not the best then. Then again, she isn't that good at singing though she tries. Fortunately, if you want to hear a better version of her singing Help Me, the Ikeburo release event does show that she has improved. XDI didn't know that. She sounds like she's recovering though because her Music Japan performance was pretty good :)
