Did they give the dates for this yet? Hipsters let's go? lol

It's so BIG!
Imagine people filling all seats up, and in the center, the group performs. My, it'll be great for sure.
-
I feel like i am stupid but I heard the rumours about possible graduation
on June 2013 in Nissan Stadium...
and I also heard that some people expected Yuko
will be graduating on June 2013... O_O!!
-
During the encore of the final night of Request Hour Setlist Best 100 2013 it was announced that AKB48 will be holding a concert this June in the Nissan Stadium!
Although the group has performed in many outdoor venues and various domes/arenas, this will be their first true stadium performance. This announcement also makes them the first female group to ever perform in the stadium!
Nissan Stadium is also known as International Stadium Yokohama and it holds 72,327 people! It’s well known for hosting football (soccer) events and was in the running for the Japanese bid for the 2008 Summer Olympics (though it was later beat out by Osaka’s bid and, ultimately, Beijing, China’s.) The large size of the venue is likely to provide unique challenges for a group that is used to performing in a traditional setting but it’s not likely to stop AKB. Aside from the upcoming AKB performance, the only artists to perform in Nissan Stadium since it’s opening in 1998 are B’z, Yazawa Eikichi, SMAP, Southern All Stars, Mr. Children, Yuzu, GLAY, EXILE, X Japan and L’arc en Ciel.
The announcement took many fans by surprise as there was much agreement that there would be either graduation announcements or a surprise appearance by former member Maeda Atsuko. Neither of those events took place, of course, but many are left wonder what sorts of announcements await them in the coming year. Speculators have said that we’re likely to see graduation announcements at the group’s recently announced 4-day Budokan live, AKB48 Fair. AKB’s management is well known for keeping fans on their toes and we can assure you that we’ll have all the biggest news as it breaks here on NihonBeat!
Congratulations to AKB48 on their success!

So excited!!! :panic: :panic:
I'm definitely going to this one but I need the dates to book time off work :)
But I need to ask, anyone know a friend or is from Japan? :P
-
^ you have my avatar... :banghead:
Anyway, even though I wish Yuko-sama could stay in AKB forever, I want her graduation to be grand as she deserves it. So if it happens, let it happen at this stadium...
-
The news mentioned it.
Fans surely need to embrace themselves prior to watching these two concerts since announcements await them.
So if it happens, let it happen at this stadium...
And I would like Acchan to come there and congratulate her, that'd be a sweet AtsuYuu moment. :thumbup

Momoiro Clover Z will also be holding a concert at Nissan Stadium this year with AKB48!
I just heard this.... If you are a fan of Momoclo, then you are probably excited huh...
I'm not sure where you heard this, Momoclo are indeed holding a concert at Nissan Stadium - but nowhere does it say anything about with AKB48.

No ticket details have been released yet. The only information is the official blog post announcing the concert: http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48/entry-11498806889.html (http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48/entry-11498806889.html)
Which just states tickets will be 7800 yen and the event will be held both rain and shine.
I'm assuming, as is standard, there will be multiple rounds of sales for the concert starting say a month or so beforehand. Mobile fanclub and then fanclub application rounds. Do note that for their previous biggest concert, Tokyo Dome, the general admission tickets were sold through http://t.pia.jp/ (http://t.pia.jp/) which crashed a lot and all tickets sold out within 6 mins of going on sale - and they only went on sale about a week before the actual concert.
Anyway, keep your eye on the official blog http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48 (http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48) for ticket details.

thank you for answering my question and also for your information Jul3-san :twothumbs

:yossi: This is gonna be BIG! One of their best!! :otomerika:
-
Would this mean that, after buying a ticket, it would include both the concert and the seating for the election? or would they be sold separately?
-
I don't get it, why is this just a one day event?
Open stadium during summer afternoon, concert starts at 3pm local, then 530pm election? The production of the concert can't be that grand because it'll have to accommodate the seating for the girls during the election.
-
For those wondering about ticketing information, details have now been revealed about the first round of sales:
7,800 yen
Lottery application period for AKB Twin Pillars fanclub members, or AKB/SKE/NMB/HKT mobile fanclub members:
23rd April - 29th April
Winners announced 5th May
Waiting list winners announced 11th May
http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48/entry-11516336280.html (http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48/entry-11516336280.html)
Family area seats: http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48/entry-11516341353.html (http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48/entry-11516341353.html)
Further rounds of sales haven't been announced yet..
-
I want so much see this concert!
I'll be in Tokyo from June 6 at July 19,
you know if I can buy a ticket somewhere in Tokyo?
thank you for your answer.
-
^ Also note that officially tickets are name-tagged and the official website always states that they ID check... how rigorous this is depends on the event itself... but if you do buy from a re-seller, you should keep this in mind...
They haven't even announced general admission ticket sales yet anyway...
Only the "blind spot" tickets, in addition to the fanclub sales as I detailed a few posts above...
Blind spot seats costs 3,900 yen
Application period: 14-16 May
Winners announced: 17 May
(so this is now closed, too)

Sales are already over, but I just wanted to post the timeframes here for future reference of when they sell general admission tickets in reference to a big concert.
Application period: 24th May 10:00 - 25th May 10:00
Results: 26th May 20:00
Waiting list results: 31st May 20:00
http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48/entry-11536496717.html (http://ameblo.jp/akihabara48/entry-11536496717.html)
They are some tight timescales but seems they went for the lottery approach on the new joint AKB48 group ticket centre rather from "first-come first served" like they did for Tokyo Dome last year. And applications were two weeks before the date, but still only one day only.

well, of course I'm a "no-one" but I would like to share some impressions.
direct to the point, the concert sucked. hardly. maybe when you see it in a dvd it turns out ok, but being there and facing 1-that hotness 2-the huge lanes 3-sitting twenty kilometers from the stage, where I could barely identify the members (though I could identify that during "Tengoku Yarou" a girl dressed like soldier was holding an H&K MP5A5. I think this shows how much of a fan I am nowadays LOL) 4-since the stadium is freaking huge and the wind was very strong sometimes, the sound was terrible. looked like it was coming from inside a box and looping 5-terrible seats are terrible. I think my ass will be hurting for a week.
on top of that, get a below average setlist and girls that can't dance at all (kenkyuseis? have no idea who they were. and why the hell give microphones to all those girls dancing around the pathway? we all know they aren't singing and are there just to do some extras anyways). having seen so many big concerts (AKB ones included) it's difficult to be impressed by something now. all looks just like a deja vu... when I heard "Pajama Drive" with a girl named Meru (who the fuck is this girl? kenkyusei? oh please, show some mercy on me) I started really to ask myself "what the hell I'm doing here?".
but at end of the concert the graduated girls appeared to sing "Skirt, Hirari" as a surprise. Meetan, Nonchi, Nacchan, Kohara and Cindy. ok, the concert wasn't a waste of life after all.
and so came the sousenkyo, right after. couldn't even check my emails LOL. as an overview, it's funny in the beginning, starts to get repetitive in the middle and is the most boring thing ever in the ending, during the senbatsu (Yuko' speech apart). simply because the girls talk about ten minutes all those blablabla we always hear and then comes that annoying announcer to inquire the girl exactly about the same shit she already told and forcing to see if they cry. (when they don't naturally) Paruru's blankness during her speech is IMO the proof how she is not prepared to be what Akimoto wants. she simply is not ready to it (maybe never will). her poker face soon became a joke with the audience laughing everytime a girl was there overreacting and then the camera switched to Paruru and she was there :huhuh
but I liked the event. why? because I just had the most incredible experience I ever managed to get with this group (handshaking events apart). it was the starting of the sousenkyo, where they call all the girls one by one. there was a rule (disrespected by some morons, of course. aka ME) to not shout disturbing people around. but when Nacchan was called, it was a no-brainer to me. she was one the girls I like more back in the days, I helped some guys to make a huge letter to her when she was kicked graduated, already saw two of her theatrical plays after AKB... I shouted like a real desperate wota and some people around me gave me a stare. ok. here I have to admit I didn't place a single vote in her, put them in my beloved Abiru and Nonaka. but since they never ranked and would most likely not rank once again, I decided to play the "Nacchan wota" role, staying quiet during other announcements and so.
the 62nd spot came and... it was her. I wished she would rank higher, but hey. it's a historic deed anyways. first and only non-member girl to rank. as soon as I stood up, all the people around turned to me. a fucking whole block of the stands all looking at me instead of the stage. I started to shout again, going even with "Nacchan aishiteru yo!!!" and so the people start applauding. ME. some guys laughed, others were just staring in admiration, the guys in front row went "hey hey look at the smile in his face", two guys even left their seats and came to congratulate me. :nervous it was like she only ranked because of me. that moment I felt what is it to be THE wota. (even though it was a lie but hey, no one needs to know, right?) and I'll have to admit to you: it felt good.
