Lillian Gertrud Asplund, the last American survivor of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, has died, a funeral home said Sunday. She was 99. (http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/05/07/titanic.survivor.ap/index.html)

It's sad, but I can't really bring myself to care more than 'oh, someone died'. She lived for a long time though.

I thought every survivor was dead by now.

99 years old? wow. but at least she lived a very long life after that tragedy...whether it be a good life or not, I can't say though.

Well, the article says she was 5 years old so I don't think so. :D

She was the last one to remember what happened too with the last survivors now only being infants at the time. RIP

lol i guess not then. but i remember the watching the making of titanic they interviewed an old lady who was a survivor. that must've been her! or is my memory playing tricks on me again :(
