Announced during Day 2 of the Gaishi Hall (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=35431.0) concerts, official lifetime SKE48 kenkyuusei Matusumura Kaori will be getting a solo debut single - the first from SKE48.
This will be released on an independent label with the first pressing limited to 1000 copies, with more pressings made if the first press sells out.
No, it's not a late April Fools, but felt like one when writing this.
And credit to @bilingual48 for being the first one I saw to tweet this in English when twitter exploded.

Crazy shit they're pulling with Kaotan. Hope she does well, always funny when a girl gets famous through unconventional means. Also, 1000 copies for first press? Might as well stick it on vinyl and call it a day. :lol:

Sashihara Rino to produce SKE48 Matsumura Kaori’s solo debut

It was announced that HKT48 member Sashihara Rino would produce SKE48’s “lifetime honorary Kenkyuusei”, Matsumura Kaori’s solo debut. The announcement was made by Sashihara herself during the live broadcast of late-night variety show “AKB video center” which Sashihara serves as the MC.
According to Sashihara, she received a message from Akimoto Yasushi that says, “Business correspondence. SKE48’s lifetime honorary Kenkyuusei, Matsumura Kaori is making her solo debut, so you produce her. You, as an idol lover, enhance Matsumura’s charm. You decide the song, order for the song arrangements, and write the lyrics.”
Back in June last year, Sashihara produced a live event “Dai 1-kai Yubi Matsuri ~Idol Rinji Soukai~” which 10 idol groups, such as Momoiro Clover Z, Idoling!!!, and Nogizaka46, attended. She has also written the lyrics for two of her own solo songs.
After the live broadcasting of “AKB video center”, Sashihara updated her Google+, “It will be a very precious song for both Matsumura and her fans, so I will try my hardest!! I seriously have to do my best-.” She also wrote, “By the way, it was decided 5 minutes before the broadcast for real. I wish everybody could see how all of us panicked behind the scene…! (laughs)”
Matsumura also updated her Google+, “It seems like there are various opinions, but I am very happy personally. I was able to be in the news, thanks to Sashihara-san. No.4 (in the general election) is incredible after all-.”
As we reported earlier, Matsumura’s debut will be under a mysterious indie label called “Nishiki Dori Records”, and a limited number of 1000 copies will be released. (when all the 1,000 copies are sold out, additional pressed copies will be made).

The song is very moe/anime like so it suits Kaotan perfectly. :thumbup
If they add a nice first press bonus, I think this single could become highly collectible with only a thousand copies!

MatsumuLove PV director revealed
According to both Sashihara Rino and Matsumura Kaori, the director for the PV of MatsumuLove is Kitagawa Kenji.
