Title: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2013 Thread
Post by: tsutomo on April 28, 2013, 01:49:02 AM
well, since I just saw in another thread that there was a topic for the 2011 edition, I guess it`s okay to have a new for this year, right?

go go go people, share your thoughts about the materialization of paradise that since 2010 grows year after year turning into one the most important summer festivals in Japan!

when the time comes, Shurastriker will post the videos here, so no worries for the folks that can`t attend it.  ;)

when= july 27th and 28th
where= odaiba, tokyo
how= tickets will be available next month
website= http://www.idolfes.com/2013/ (http://www.idolfes.com/2013/)
already confirmed= AeLL., Idoling!!!, Sakura Gakuin, The Possible, Negicco, Vanilla Beans, Tokyo Joshiryu.

last year they got SKE48 to perform at TIF, so maybe this year we have another "big surprise name"?? dreaming about Perfume...

Last year I can stream it live on nico, I hope this year they will do something like that again. I will upload it on youtube.

Thanks tsutomo. It's our job to hype TIF... because the website sure isn't XD

I hope GEM is there. That's all I need. That and Mano Erina to unretire and perform a special live just for me.

Hopefully the weather is as nice as it was last year.

So excited for this year because I WILL BE THERE! First time going to Japan, and I'll get to be at this, so excited!

I really hope to see GEM, Fairies, Dancing Dolls and Cheeky Parade there above all else. (I have high expectations that GEM and Cheeky Parade will be there considering all of idol street, even trainees, appearing last year. However, I don't know what the chances are of my other two. Fairies I expected to see on the list last year but it did not happen. Dancing Dolls is new so it's hard to say, I suppose it could go either way.)

I can hardly believe I'll actually be there! I wish they'd hurry up and announce more groups!! I'm going nuts!  :panic:

I wrote a little blog post on ALL the groups I'd like to see, if anyone is interested :P (www.machis-world.blogspot.com (http://www.machis-world.blogspot.com))

I'm hoping for some Streetsei to be there. Tebasaki iDOL NAGOYA perhaps.
It'd be interesting to see them work without Maaya and Chisami (provided they both land in GEM).

I'd be really surprised (and sad) if 9Nine doesn't show up either.

one thing that let me down last year is that I made a time table with all the groups I like and some new groups (to me) but forgot to add diferent stages, specially that one on the top of the building.

this year, going two days, I hope I can stalk follow my favorite groups one day and enjoy more the festival in the other.

and of course I hope we have a good weather too.

Based on when it was all announced last year, I am willing to bet they announce it at this event and then update their website. I expect it that day or that night. Hope I'm right.

yeah let's hope. the thing that bugs me is that last year around this time we had already a lot of fuzz concerning about the SKE participation. this time we have nothing. instead, the first group to pass the festival is Team Shachihoko, since they'll do a live at Hibiya in the same day. exactly one that I would like to see the most.  :(

Ebichu probably wont participate as well, they'll hold a concert on 7/28. So practically no Stardust idols this year (Minitia Bears, takoyaki rainbow, etc might participate tho)

I don't think having an external LIVE would prevent a group from being in the TIF, at least AeLL. had shows somewhere else during the previous 2 TIFs iirc, and also during the "Young Animal Fest", in which Ai was (is) the Miss Young Animal and one would think she would be involved in the fest (being the magazine's pet/ambassador and all that), but AeLL. arrived like at 11 am, performed at 12 and by 1 pm were on their way to another show somewhere else and never came back to the YAfest  :nervous

^ That's true. Last year PASSPO was scheduled for just 1 day at TIF (Sunday) since they had a concert on Saturday at Summerland (a waterpark in Tokyo). They ended up doing one stage at TIF on Saturday night, after they finished their other live.

I actually think it would be cool if your favorite group is doing a "real" concert the day of TIF. I don't expect SUPER GiRLS at TIF this year, but if they had a concert in Tokyo that weekend, I would leave TIF for a while and go to the concert, and then come back once it was over.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2013 Thread
Post by: tsutomo on May 07, 2013, 01:47:47 AM
well, if it's a campaign event or participation in another festival, the show is shorter and don't take so much preparations, so the group can perform elsewhere and still go to TIF. but if it's an one-man, a special concert, a tour stop outside the city... I find it difficult to believe that the group still go to the festival. being optimistic they may perform in one of the days only.

if things go like last year we're getting the first list of groups in the next few days. since this year the festival happens earlier, let's expect they go a little faster with the announcements.

edit: great! Denpa Gumi and Cheeky Parade have other appointments too. Denpa will be in Hokkaido July 28th. some guys at 2ch are concerned that at this pace, we will have JK21 in the main stage as one the headliners.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2013 Thread
Post by: qwiksXnd on May 07, 2013, 02:57:49 AM
Is the Cheeky Parade concert another "Grand Prix" like they did with Afilia Saga East and Up Up Girls? That would tie up some other groups as well.

I hope the next TIF update impresses. I'm interested in Idol Yokocho on 7/7 because GEM, HimeKyun, and Houkago Princess will be attending, but I still prefer TIF because the format is so much better.

dunno, people at 2ch are commenting about a show in July 27th, but didn't find the info about it.

hey! I wasn't aware of this new Idol Yokocho festival! maybe I go there, since it has several groups that I don't know. (but to tell the truth, only Hime Kyun attracts me...)

now 53 groups already announced.  :) if they at least equal last year event, we can expect more or less 60 other groups to be announced in the next weeks.

the ones added today that I think could be highlighted:

-Up Up Girls Kakkokari
-Allover (now Asfi participation is closer to becoming reality  )
-Super Girls
-Takokusekigun
-Cheeky Parade (the wotas at 2ch were wrong, they`ll participate. at least in one of the days)
-Tokyo Cheer 2 Party
-Dorothy Little Happy
-Passpo
-Bump.y
-BiS
-Fuudanjuku
-Predia
-Lovely Doll
-Baby Raids
-Houkago Princess

the price for the tickets will be 4,800 yens for each day and 8,500 yens for both.

---------------------
seriously, can you pass a chance to see BiS + Passpo + Up Up Girls?? gotta be crazy to do that.  ;)

I love the lineup so far.

With the exception of GEM and HimeKyun all of my favorite groups were announced in that update.

SUPER GiRLS, spiral groups (takokusekigun, negaigoto, PowerSpot), Houkago Princess, predia, DLH, Cheeky Parade, BiS.

some major absences till now: Afilia Saga, 9nine, LinQ, Denpa Gumi.inc, Tomato`n Pine, Hime Kyun Fruits Can, Lyrical School, Rhymeberry, Shizukaze & Kizuna, Alice Juban, Mai Kotone, Doki Doki Dream Campus, Naaboudoufu@Nana, hy4_4yh, Party Rockets, Ebichuu...

and we still didn`t have a "surprise name". I`m praying they do it again. Even if the name is Nogizaka46, still better than nothing.

I'm so hyped for TIF. But in a cool way, not a nerdy way.

^ Tomapai disbanded... or did they recently get back together?

My pick for "surprise name" would be your original pick: Perfume. Other non-idol groups I would like are Scandal and Silent Siren. Not expecting or predicting them, but I would see them if they were there.

There are literally hundreds of groups they could still add, but I'm waiting for street-sei, E-Girls (or just Dream), 9Nine, ANNA☆S, EXILE, Chimo, and Apple Tale. Honestly I am extremely satisfied with the lineup so far... once they add GEM. I am going to keep writing that until they are added. But it looks like the next update isn't until June. I'm going to try to buy my tickets this week. I can't lie, I'm worried the negicco fans are going to buy all the tickets.

fuck. I didn't know that Tomapai disbanded.  :sweatdrop: my bad.

I like what we have so far. but it can be better. I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if Afilia Saga, Hime Kyun, 9nine and other "medium profile" groups aren't added in the next updates. if they follow last year, the next three will be the decisive. in the late announcements just "low profile" groups to add in quantity not quality.

as for the "surprise big name"...

my dream >> Perfume
very unlikely possibilities >> xxx48, H!P, Momokuro, Kyary Pamyu
more realistic possibilities >> Nogizaka46, Silent Siren, Risa Yoshiki
my bet (judging from what I'm seeing) >> none  :(

I'm not too worried about the tickets. last year they sold out the first day just because SKE was there.

Well i hope they avoid inviting another ***48/46 because they should focus in more new talent... so i'll be ok if there's no passpo or afilia or fudanjuku but then again if many bigf names aren't there there won't be good sales.

Afilia Saga can skip the festival this year if they are going to have so few time like last year. In exchange the backstage crew should hit and do like 3 or 4 shows in different stages all at the same time with the same songs and all XD i was thinking that and would be interesting despite is barely impossible it can happen like that.

Niigata is taking over TIF this year? don't know but i do know some people from there trying to assist in big numbers

GEM will perform both days!
http://ameblo.jp/idolstreet-gem/entry-11533807333.html (http://ameblo.jp/idolstreet-gem/entry-11533807333.html)

Unfortunately HimeKyun Fruit Can and nanoCUNE are doing two concerts together on 7.28 so they are at least out for that day. Still hoping they attend on Saturday.

The interesting thing about the GEM announcement is they didn't wait for a TIF update, so I guess it's possible that other groups can do the same and just randomly reveal their participation at their blog or website. I think the next official update is the first week of June and on June 6 those that entered the presale lottery will be notified if they got a ticket.

Yeah I'm really disappointed in the T-shirt design too. I thought last years was really cute, and was hoping for a similar one this year since I'm definitely gonna wanna grab one as a souvenir. It's not awful or anything, though They made a smiley face- it's kinda cute. My biggest thing I liked about last year was the colors and it being really busy while this one is more plain xD
I hope you can buy the shirts there, because I can't really grab it beforehand xD

I was thinking I wonder if people wear the TIF shirt there, their fave idols shirt, or normal clothes? Also wonder if they have glowsticks, and again....their oshis, even if they only see them once? huh. xD
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2013 Thread
Post by: tsutomo on May 25, 2013, 06:39:51 PM
yep it`s too plain. they may create models with color variations but still...

well, use what you feel comfortable with. remember you`ll have to walk a lot from one stage to another and that in this season it`s hot like hell. I would like to use my Asfi t-shirt signed by Sakichan (there`s nothing more hardcore wota than a signed t-shirt oh yeah) but I think I`ll go with some basketball or football uniform to help the body transpiration.  :)

ICT lovelies!!
Afilia Saga
usa usa girls club
Especia
Erepyon
Kaiketsu Tropical Maru
Gal Doll
KNU
Mai Kotone
Shizukaze & Kizuna
Naaboudoufu@Nana
9Nine
hy4_4yh
Band ja nai mon!
Rhymeberry
lyrical school

*still missing Alice Juban, Hime Kyun, LinQ, Denpa Gumi, Doki Doki, Party Rockets... and GEM is confirmed but still wasn`t added.

My prediction of Erena Ono came true. But my prediction of Yui Matsushita didn't. 50% is pretty good though, that would be like an F... nothing wrong with that.

Glad 9nine and Afilia Saga will be there but still waiting for a surprise performer. Tsutomo promised Perfume and AKB48.

I remember Kaiketsu Tropical Maru from last year. I went to a stage to watch Party Rockets, but the schedule was off and they were there instead. They spent 10 minutes talking about how they begged to be invited to TIF. It was amusing.

^ I didn't notice GEM wasn't included in todays update until you mentioned it. *freaks out* I better call Yuki or Ranachin to confirm.

And Takokusekigun has a new logo, kawaaaiiiiiiiiiiii.

Shizukaze & Kizuna also has a new logo and new website. I didn't even recognize them in that pic.

They'll spend another 10 minutes this year too since they only have like 4 songs  :nervous

Some of them were there in the 2011 edition back when they're still the "AeLL.'s SUB Girls"... hmmm... maybe they sing AeLL's songs to fill up their set??

-whatthe... they have a bunch of members now   :O2

Guess CLEAR'S has not and likely, won't be invited,  :( too bad, but at least they didn't invite Nagoya CLEAR'S :p

if they follow last year pattern, we shall see more announcements in the next few days. they added Ebichuu in the 4th announcement in 2012 so we may still see some "big" names added. I just realized that they are probably having some problems with certain agencies, since till now no sign of Alice Project groups or Finolia Factory groups...

and for the "surprise name" I`m fearing that Erepyon was that one.  :smhid damn, they could at least add someone like Aya Hirano to be the icing on the cake.

4th announcement is out, guys! more 15 groups (91 in total):

HR
Otome Corporation
Kawasaki Junjou Komachi
Caramel Ribbon
Southern Cross
SIR
Supre Power
Diamond
Hime carat
Tsuribit
ManaMinoRisa
MelodyLien
Blue Chee's
Minami Momochi
Seiko Omori

yep, just a bunch of irrelevant groups.  :P (MelodyLien is nice, I must admit)

*edit: spelled wrong a name, sorry

Otome Corporation and Caramel☆Ribbon have some nice stuff, I'd be interested in seeing them. (Depending who is performing at the same time, of course.)

I'd still really like an announcement of Party Rockets, Prizmmy☆, Fairies, Ebichu, Team Syachihoko, Chimo, Kamen Rider Girls, i☆Ris, Osaka BB Wave, and Osaka Show Gangs.

Don't expect one for Fairies, Ebichu, or Team Syachihoko. Ebichu and Syachihoko do have some other stuff going on, maybe stardust is trying to pull them out now :/ Fairies I think has the issue that, though they are considered idols, some tv shows and places they go announce them as "idols" but others call them a "dance and vocal group". Since TIF only wants 100% idols, this really messes with Fairies' chances ><

Really surprised to see no Party Rockets. REally hope it changes. I honestly just completely expected them.

Prizmmy☆, i☆Ris, and Kamen Rider Girls still hopefully have achance. Losing hope on Prizmmy, but here's to hoping. I want to see i☆Ris soooo bad.

Chimo, Osaka BB Wave, and Osaka Show Gangs are pretty indie, I think they could be announced up until pretty close to the festival.

HR
Otome Corporation
Southern Cross
SIR
ManaMinoRisa
MelodyLien

Ans tsuribit are barely new, they have like 2 songs only but seems are winning fans pretty fast

ps: irrelevant today, major acts tomorrow... let me know when QunQun is added, i still have hopes

for the Stardust groups, the chances of them appearing is slim to none. the producers of the festival are having issues with some agencies and Stardust is one of them.

since they already started adding only "low profile" groups, chances of seeing more famous ones (like Hime Kyun, Denpa Gumi and Fairies) are minimal too. unless they are holding their names to announce later as a "surprise".

the thing that bugs me is that they STILL didn't add Gem to the list, despite the group already confirmed presence weeks ago. they may have other groups in the same situation, confirmed but not announced. and HERE resides my hope to still see some famous group added. if they don't, I'll have to join the japs at 2ch and start calling this year edition a "owacon".  clearly a big drop of contents from last year.

Quote
Since TIF only wants 100% idols

don't think this is true since they have for this year edition Mariko Gotou who is not an idol (never was. she was the vocalist of the rock band Midori in the past). also Band ja nai mon! is very borderline.

if they go adding in the next announcements only unknown groups, I really hope that at least they call Asfi, Chi Mamire Romantic, Natsuaki, Feam, Nato Kan and HachaMecha.

first festival lacked of relevant names, now there are too many... but what i like from TIF is that they promote smaller groups... what i don't like is that is too short lol, too many groups and so little time

I hope update #5 includes some of the missing mid tier groups (E-Girls also please). I'm an eternal optimist though, so Nogizaka46 and SDN48 revival are definitely going to happen. I have a really good feeling about update #7 (female intuition). TIF just seems like it's missing something right now... pinkey maybe? Jk, I personally really want Chimo and please invite asfi - for tsutomo.

I think the GEM update will be resolved after 6.11 because that is when the group will be officially announced and the final lineup will be revealed. Not to sound like a nerd, but I'm super worried about my oshimen because she isn't the most popular GEMber (GEM member). I'm retiring from the internet if she doesn't make the final lineup.

^ After last year, I really hoped they would add Friday, so TIF would be 3 days long... but didn't happen.

LOL I would like to have a little of your optimism. actually, I think that since the one who has started the festival thread is ME, this year edition is doomed.  :panic:

I doubt they add a third day. unless they move the event to the summer holiday week, it would not be viable. but by doing so they would risk competing with other big festivals like Summersonic and A-nation (specially this one and it's special day, Idolnation). and if this year edition prove a commercial failure (that may happen, seeing how the wotas are bashing the producers, festival, lineup... plus that without a big name...), I think that even a new edition next year becomes in doubt. we have too many idol festivals nowadays (Idol Yokocho and Uta Musume ones being the more prominent), not everyone will survive.

I'm bias to stardust groups, so the absence of Ebichu and Syachi (according to tsutomo) has dropped my interest level to 80%, then no LinQ, no dempagumi and no Party Rockets, it's down to 70%
Not as good as last year, but good enough to buy nico live streaming

You're a good fan eyeless. If most of my top ten and #1 group was missing, my interest would be like 20%.

^ Lol, it's totally your fault! Although 13 is an unlucky number (at least where I'm from) so it's partly the universe's fault. Are you still in Japan? I've been reading your blog for a while and you are the most hardcore overseas fan ever.

IDOL Street just confirmed GEM will be there as well as all of the street-sei groups (Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Nagoya). I figured they would be added, but its nice to see it confirmed. Definitely want to see all five of the groups and the new members.

http://idolstreet.jp/live/20130727.html (http://idolstreet.jp/live/20130727.html)

But I am starting to feel guilty because it seems like iDOL Street/avex has a really good relationship with the producers which happens to work out perfectly for me. And most of the indie groups I like have already been added. I just really wish tsutomo would stop messing everything else up. NMB48 would have been added by now if I started the thread.

my insterest has decreased too. I`m only going cuz... I already bought the fucking ticket. ROFL really, I could use that weekend to travel to Nagoya and see SKE there. no Denpa, Alice 10 and Hime Kyun... "That pisses me right off!"

^^ Yeah, that was a compliment. I want to be the most hardcore 8) I paid for my ticket also and I think its really cool they are sending the wristband directly this time.

I didn't mean to give the impression I was disappointed in the lineup. I keep bringing up "surprise" groups because I think its fun to predict these kind of things. Personally I'm not even a fan of the "surprise" groups, but it would still be cool because even though I'm not, others are.

TIF is going to be fine. There's still 7 weeks left and more groups will be added. And if not, this will be a great opportunity for everyone to be converted to iDOL Street fanboyism.

Cool, there was another update and GEM was officially anounced (sorry that all my posts in this thread are about GEM, but can't stop, won't stop). Although they used an old photo with members who ultimately didn't make the final lineup.  (Here is the final lineup if anyone is interested: http://idolstreet.jp/member/gem.html (http://idolstreet.jp/member/gem.html) . My favorite member Sara made the cut so I won't be retiring from the internet afterall)

Yumemiru Adolescence was also added in addition to all the street-sei teams.

edit #1: They corrected the GEM photo.
edit #2: Since there are 99 groups right now, I wonder if #100 will be a surprise group. If not, I will never talk about surprise groups ever again. (until next year)

in the 5th announcement, added:

GEM
LinQ
Yumemiru Adolescence
w-Street FUKUOKA
w-Street NAGOYA
w-Street OSAKA
e-Street TOKYO
e-Street SAPPORO

surprisingly they added LinQ. this means we can still hope for Hime Kyun, at least??? time will tell.

now 99 groups. they`ll add more twenty groups maybe... if they don`t add Feam, Asfi, Natokan and Abunai Onna no Ko Sisters, a terrorist attack will happen. warning is done. :pimp:

and so, in order to make Shura happy:

6th announcement added

Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome
Through Skills
Izukoneko
7cm (ex-SDN48 girls!!!)
G☆Girls
X21

now 105 groups confirmed. next announcement may be the last one, seeing that last year we had 111 groups...
since they added two "famous" names, we can still see something interesting added.

and I was surprised to discover this 7cm group. never heard of it before abd... IT HAS HARUKA UMEDA, one of my favorite SDN girls back in the days.

three days have passed, another announcement!

7th announcement. now 108 groups.

Barbee
Linda Sansei
Ayaman Japan

(my opinion: crap)

and maybe someone is not aware yet but Kadosawa (one of the main producers behind the festival) left Idoling!!!`s staff. TIF will be his last time working with the group. of course this has opened the door to much speculation. strong rumors that this year edition will be last one are floating around...

yes, no problem with it. 5000 yens for one day, 9000 yens for two days pass.

unless the tickets sell out, which is VERY unlikely to happen at this stage... (well, maybe they add Perfume in the final lineup announcement, who knows  )

and so, guess what? the "SURPRISE BIG NAME" came!

8th announcement, now 110 groups. just one more to go.

HKT48
RYUTist

they bragged about making an idol festival without -48 groups but... it was a bluff. they surrended and called Sasshi and co.

HOLLY SHIT I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. I won't see Denpa Gumi, Hime kyun, FEAM, Alice 10, Asfi, Nato kan...

I'll only forgive them if in the last announcement they make an even greater surprise calling Kasai or Mayuyu solo. or, of course, Perfume.  :P
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2013 Thread

Never heard of HKT48. The more groups the better though... theoretically.

^ Are you going to the Cheeky Parade x BiS x SteamGirls show on the 26th? I wanted to go to the Cheeky Parade x AeLL. show but it's at 12 and I don't arrive in Tokyo until 4.

Some of those groups may still attend... HimeKyun and nanoCUNE are definitely out though. Chimo is out too (for those interested in them).

never heard about HKT48? you are a lucky person.

we never know. some people are talking that the last group (they'll probably add just one more to equal last year event number of participants) may be another "big name". let's wait.

no, I won't go there cuz: it's in a week day. gotta work. and I'll already be seeing my BiS a lot in this near future so no need to go there and have to endure a Cheeky Parade concert.  :P

HKT are least poplar of the 48 family (despite sasshi) and the girls are actually really cute with loads of great personalities.
I mean, chances are I won't see them unless they are performing at the same time as absolutely NO groups I like...but really, they aren't bad.

At least in my opinion xD
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2013 Thread
Post by: tsutomo on July 06, 2013, 12:53:34 AM
I`m cursed. there`s no other explanation. I was hoping to see Nocchi. or at least Eitaso. but no, all I received was Saseko.  and it can still get worst. imagine as the last attraction, to top the cake: Sasshi solo.  :panic:

we have to wait for the final announcement and the time table (both will probably come soon), but as of now... I would bet that HKT makes a one-day appearance like SKE last year and by doing so, the tickets of this day will most likely sell out. HKT may be the least popular of -48 franchise but with sales around 300000, they are far ahead any other group attending the festival. I expect a relevant increase in public interest with them around.

Hey guys I have some questions for those of you who have been or know people who have gone.

Where are goods sold? Like, can you get group/member goods by where they perform, or is there like a specific area with ALL merchandise?

Also, I heard some groups have things for if you buy a certain amount of goods. Everything from handshakes to pictures with them and random things, depending on how 'indie' they still are, I guess.
Where do you find out what each group is offering, and how much you gotta buy to get this?

Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2013 Thread
Post by: tsutomo on July 06, 2013, 09:33:24 AM
they have a specific area where the groups sell stuff, the so called "Grand Market". all the groups have a space in the big tent mounted there. each one is free to make their regulations, regarding activities and cost. it will be available in the group's space, generally a board explaining all. groups that are a little organized will post the regulations in their official blog too, prior to the event.

different activities can be made just like everywhere, but most of it will take place in another specific area, the "Greeting Square". the festival will make available a time table containing the specific hour which group will be there. they happen during the shows, so expect to lose some performances if you go there wanting to meet some groups.

this was the way it happened last year, of course this year can be different. (probably not)

Now my only worry will have to be that I can't really read Japanese xD Was hoping that stuff would all show up beforehand and i could have someone translate for me ahahaha ah well, I can recognize the names of my favorite groups, and I'll memorize things like "2shot" "picture" "handshake" etc I suppose~

it will be your first time in an idol concert? cuz I don't think you need to worry so much about the activities there, they'll happen just like... always. nothing really different... well, some groups may sell special goods made for this event only (for example, Afilia always has a new set of trading photos just for the festival). no need to understand a lot of moonspeak too, most of the times you have to buy a cd or spend something like 1000 yens in goods to get a handshake ticket. 2 shots are generally a little more expensive... depends on the group. since the festival attracts a lot of people, the most famous groups will most likely do only a group handshake or high touch. you'll get more fanservice only with the unknown groups. (as I said before, nothing really new here. it's always this way, everywhere)

so they announced the groups that will appear in only one of the days. time to select what is the day of your preference, folks. I foresee tickets selling out in the second day

day 27 only:

Ono Erena
Super Girls
Naaboudoufu@Nana
Passpo
Bellring Shoujo Heart
Lyrical School
Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome
Yumemiru Adolescence

day 28 only:

HKT48
9nine
Tokyo Cheer2 Party
Houkago Princess
RYUTist
Dream5

and I foresee Erepyon and HKT closing the festival each day. you can call me "The Oracle" if I get it right.  :P

Would say PASSPO, and if I  can see them I will for sure, but I am going to their live on the 3rd of August, anyways, so I can survive without them if needed xD

^^ Idoling closed TIF 2010, 2011, and 2012. We can still call you the oracle if Perfume gets added 8). Saturday is a possibility though. Although if they are going to use Zepp Tokyo until 11PM on Saturday, that would mean Erepyon is performing after 10pm. Seems unlikely to me, but it's possible. She probably gets sleepy after 8.

The dates seem weird for some of the groups. TIF has Houkago Princess scheduled for only the 28th. But at the Houpri homepage their schedule has them for both days. I'm kind of fanatical about them, so I hope they attend both days. It messes up your flexibility if you have to see a certain group on a certain day.

Only relevant to iDOL Street fans, but several members graduated this week, so that may impact which street-sei group you want to check out.

Also got my wristband yesterday morning:

lol Perfume are way beyond the "idols" tag and i don't see what force in the world can prevent that Idoling!!! close the event this year too.

on the good side i'm so happy that Afilia and Negicco are performing both days, that means i have 100% more chances to catch them on stream... that if they are going to stream it

yep you got it right. I totally forgot the late hours/age factor. HKT has a bunch of lolis that won`t be able to stay till the end. and it makes more sense to Idoling!!! make a special show to close not only the event but the Kadosawa`s guidance. thinking better about it... they may even perform a longer show, with like two hours...

hey, the last performance in the main stage last year was that crap Fudanjuku. I have a chance with my Erepyon call, c`mon.  will they make that "Idol Club Night" through the late hours once again? I don`t think it attracts so many people. I know I won`t see it, cuz staying for two days without a shower after seeing so many shows under that freaking sun is  :smhid

don't worry, they'll release it in the next few days. and of course, during the festival you'll see lots of delays so your planned schedule will sink deeply.  (don't wory in reality, I'm exaggerating it. a little)

and Shura, they are too... manly!  :bleed eyes: I don't understand how you can like all the groups known. is there some group that you actually dislike? at least a single bit??? c'mon you can't be this DD.

Also I'm with you on Fudanjuku's image. I can not get into it at all ;-; However, I discovered somewhat-recently most of their album songs are RELALY good. Left me feeling so conflicted.

Time table is up...  :thumbup  AeLL. is gonna perform at 18:00 on Saturday at the Hot Stage, which is probably the one that has them streamed, so it is all well for now  :on GJ:  and they are also at one of the Sunday "encores"... :nervous

Are we allowed to leave while a group is performing, or is that not allowed/super rude? Most of the schedule works REALLY well for me, but there is this one area Day 1 with a LOT of groups I like, but all slightly overlapping to the point where I'd have to pick one and then have nothing to do lol

Similarly, during those performances with multiple groups, am I able to go in after one group finishes but it's technically still one live going?

leaving while group is performing is kinda rude for me but hey is a festival so try to enjoy a bit of everything, i would do that if i was there... OK NO i would check Negicco, LinQ and Afilia lives completely then move around to whatever XD and that sounds even more rude.

Well thing is i don't really dislike a group but have no interest... the group i really i really consider a fan (a bad one but a fan anyways) is afilia saga (obviously) and Negicco too... and group relevant for me are LinQ and Passpo and Dempa and BiS and maybe QunQun... the rest not that much for now

Shura, take Negicco off your list and we can become "best friends forever".

I only try to avoid leaving during a song is playing, cuz well... it sucks for the people trying to watch it, you know. but after that, I see no problem. unless of course you play a rat and stay in the first line right in front of the stage and try to get out passing through the whole audience.

I`ll put my feelings about the time table and all later. (rage post incoming. take the kids out of the room, please)  :P

Already received my 2-day bracelet last week. I don't know that you're not allowed to remove the bracelet after wearing it and what's worse is that they made it pink. I'd hate to be wearing something pink on my hand for two days without being able to remove it. Anyone knows whether the staff really checks whether if we are wearing the bracelet properly?

Been shying away going to TIF for three straight years since I hate being outside during Japanese summer so this is going to be my first TIF.

I would probably be watching Idoling!!! along with Sakura Gakuin with a little bit of Tokyo Joshiryuu and their collaboration. I'll avoid the main stage since they will probably be aired on either Nicovideo or CS, so I'll get to see them either way when I get home.

You are definitely NOT supposed to take them off. I mean, you can go ahead and try and then try to tie it back on somehow, but I would suggest just not doing it. xD

^^ Last year I took the wristband off after the first day. I tried to reattach it the next day but it kept falling off and I almost lost it several times. If the staff was smart they would give each wristband a slight pull every time you enter a venue, just to make sure it's on properly. Fortunately for me they never did. The most scrutiny you'll get is at the main stage where they check a little closer. I'm sure you would be fine if you removed it, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's possible they smartened up this year and realized that during day two people could easily swap them out.

yeah man, better stay with it. c`mon, it`s not such a big deal, is it? since it`s plastic you can easily take a shower with it and so on...

[rant]
about the stages and time table, I just HATED it. even if I try to go through the absences of this year festival, the time table does nothing to help it. the Idol Club Night which was supposed to give the option to stay the whole night there, is pointless now that it ends at ten o`clock. why bother making it? they continue having those group slots like "Fresh girls", "Colorful idols"... why not give them separate appearances? there's time slot for it! and they continue using very badly the time, like making shows one right after another, without time to let people come in or out, while some stages stop being used way before the others (look at the Church stage. it stops being used almost FOUR HOURS before the others!) and while some groups are performing only once a day (Afilia at 28th) there are groups appearing like FOUR times! WTF! of course as expected they put several groups that I liked to see in the same hours, as well.  :banghead:

and the stages... they changed from DiverCity to the old Zepp. I have no real problem with the place, but it`s considerably more distant than the previous one. you could easily access the Gundam stage and have a great sight there, but the Church stage on the other hand... not only you`ll have to enter the shopping mall and walk through its labyrinth of paths, but the Church stage is really tiny and unless you get there way before to guarantee a place, you`ll stay back the portal and will have a shitty view (I know well cuz I already saw a Smileage event there). don`t get me wrong, the church is beautiful and all but in a crowded event like this, your experience won`t probably be the best one. I see no reason to make these changes unless they are counting with a rainy weekend, so it would make sense to have shows in a protected area. either way, I fail to understand why they are not using the MegaWeb stage, since it would give more reasoning to leave the Fuji TV area if there were more attractions around Zepp. it really sucks having to walk ten minutes or more just to see a single performance and walk all the way back.

i totally agree with that they should give a break between each performance... Also Afilia show should be 45 mins at least lol so they can do a decent MC lol the best part of their introductions is when Shukure gets mad

I have 2 questions for anyone who thinks they could help ><;

1. Someone said they think the Info Centre is just for talk, not performances....is that true?? O.O

2. For Enjoy Studium, Info Centre, and Doll Factory...they are on floors 2 and 3 of that building, it looks like? It won't be a one-elevator thing like the Sky Stage last year do you think, will it? I mean, will there be more elevators or escalators or stairs?

3. When do you think they will announce when each group is at the greeting square? i know you usually find out what's available for each group day of (whether they are offering handshakes or chekis or whatever it may be) but shouldn't they put who is there when so we can plan it into our schedules?

4. If I want to see GEM at Hot Stage, how much beforehand do you think I'd need to arrive to get a decent spot?

Also, considering the location of Venus Church, I'm feeling pretty glad I don't really have anything i wanna see there much xD
Also gotta say I'm with you on the Venus Church thing...in general, I just wish the filled spaces with more groups. I want more chances to see everyone I like xD

THIS. with so little time, they have two options: do the introductions and sing like four songs or go without a proper introduction and sing one more. if they plan an MC to talk about releases and incoming shows, its done. no more time for anything.

hey Daydreamer, you asked four questions not two.  :P where you heard about the Info Centre thing? I know they'll do some talk shows there, but ALL the performances will be only talking? I really hope not. about the stages in the Fuji TV building, last year Doll Factory was located in a studio in the first floor, that you had to access by going through the backside of the building. dunno if it will be different this year. I'm guessing the "enjoy stadium" is the new "fantastic theater"? if so, it will be located in a corridor in the first floor.

about GEM... well it's not a so hyped group... it depends on what you consider a "decent spot". I'm pretty sure even if arrive after it started you'll be able to walk till the middle of the floor. if you want to grab a spot near the stage, come a few minutes before, like before the previous act finishes. but if you're talking about being in the first lane, well... it will cost you seeing one or two previous performances to steal the place, probably.

Don't get me wrong, I just don't want to be seen with a pink bracelet on my hand on the train back home.
I guess I'll just wear a wristwatch or wristband over it then

This year's Info Centre will probably be similar to last year's Welcome Marquee where they did short interviews with lesser known idol groups.
I just noticed it really is spelled Enjoy Studium

Yeah...it WAS two, but then I thought of more XDDD Anyway, I'm hoping not, too. I think they are probably wrong, since groups like Weather Girls have one or two performances and one is listed there....so I feel like it's gotta be a perf, not a talk session? I hope, at least.
Thanks for all the info ^_^ The day I arrive or maybe on the 26th I think I'm just gonna go explore and try to find where everything is going to be xD

Thanks for the GEM info. My main worry is that I'd like to be at Sunmyu's performance at the Azure Stage before GEM. It ends an hour before GEM starts, but I hear getting up and down from the stage can be rough... :/ Then again, Sunmyu doesn't seem all that popular, and after them is RYUist who I never hear a ton about, so I'm hoping the elevator isn't gonna have a big line. I don't need to be front row, but I'd like to be able to see the girls well enough ^_^ Anyway, worst comes to worse, I don't even mind leaving Sunmyu a bit early, despite it being a short-ish performance. I'm not hardcore about the group, but I AM getting pretty interested at a kind of fast rate, so more than anything I wanna see them a bit, and I just don't want them to become one of my favorite idol groups some time and regret having not see them perform while I had the chance.

Anyway, so long as last-minute changes and such aren't drastic and delays aren't awful and I can keep to my schedule pretty well, it seems I'm going to see everyone I was interested in except for one at LEAST once. So, I'm feeling pretty dang happy xD

This year's Info Centre will probably be similar to last year's Welcome Marquee where they did short interviews with lesser known idol groups.
I just noticed it really is spelled Enjoy Studium

Agh, so you really think it's going to be interviews and stuff, not performances? D: That's going to seriously mess with my schedule if so....hm...
Seems strange for a group like Weather Girls to be there, then, just for an interview. They are only there one day, and I can only even see them listed on the schedule one time...and that's for the Info Centre. Would they really go just for a interview and not perform at all?? D:

If groups are actually performing there, I have 6 scheduled to go see, two of which I REALLY wanna go to. It's gonna suck if you're right >< Though if they had something like it last year, I suppose that's likely how it'll be.... :/

I do that a lot :P xD I'm awful with Japanese so all the names in Romaji I gotta really focus to recognize xD Not surprising I missed some xD

Well thank you ^_^ I messed with my schedule a bit. Due to some decisions I made yesterday, taking out the Info Centre stuff that I thought were performances didn't actually mess with anything, really. So I'm really happy. I feel like I have a really good schedule *__* Only acts I'd like to see that it seems I won't catch are Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome (Will probably visit their cafe a lot during my trip though, anyway xD), Predia, and Weather Girls. And none of those were at all "must sees", just very much "their music is kinda cool, wouldn't mind catching them."

So things turned out very well  :D Now just gotta pray for not minimal schedule changes and no delays that mess with my plans ;-;

hmmm makes sense, cuz this year we don`t have the "Welcome Marquee"... damn, my schedule is turning even worse.

saw some guys at 2ch talking that the Church stage will have free attendance, like the Gundam one last year. if it's true, that stage must REALLY be skipped, folks. it'll be crowded all day and you'll see nothing. well, either way it's not that bad since the only group that I would like to see there was Up Up but there'll be other opportunities. the group that should perform there is Afilia. it would fit perfectly, the scenario and their uniforms (the original ones). I hope someday they make an release event there...

Daydreamer, only stay aware that RYUTist has considerably more fans than those other groups you named. after two editions, this year will hopefully be my first time in that sky stage. I so fucking want to see how it is to watch a concert there... I'll try to see Lucky Color's and Pre-dia there.  :twothumbs

How realistic is it to expect to be able to see two shows in a row at the Hot Stage? I really want to see Sakura Gakuin after Dream5 on 7/28 and I don't really mind seeing from the back row. We have to re-queue after a show had finished right?

You can camp out at any stage for as long as you want. With each change in performers you should be able to get a lot closer to the front as other fans leave. I plan on being at the main stage most of the day during day 1 in order to achieve my lifelong dream of being in the front row of a SUPER GiRLS concert.

I did just notice that they already made a change in the lineup: Dorothy Little Happy and Tokyo Girls Style swapped time-slots. I can't get upset because I knew they would make updates (it was obvious with all the gaps in some of the stages), but I figured the main stage would be set. Although the Main Stage changed a lot last year a few days before. So I guess everything that is currently listed on the timetable can potentially change. Good thing I haven't spent 30+ hours planning my schedule, that would be lame XD

I guess they made this so they can allocate some shows from the outdoor venues there, if needed. just hope we don`t have some strong rain cuz the Garden stage would turn into a pond of mud.

for those who are attending it, finally the handshaking time table is out. some groups will appear only once, while others have two time slots. and this is caused by the fact that some groups (including BiS, Up Up and Passpo) will be attending another event in Odaiba, the "Odaiba Gashuukoku". for those going to the TIF, if you show your wristband at the counter, you get a 700 yens discount in the ticket for the Gashuukoku (originally 1700 yens). ps: the groups will appear using yukata in this festival.

and now my schedule becomes even more fucked up.  :panic:

For me today:

Linda 3sei (HOT STAGE) --> bump.y (HOT STAGE) --> Idol College (Smile Garden) --> Idol Summer Jamboree (Smile Garden) --> Babyraids (Smile Garden) --> Idoling!!! handshake event (Greeting Square) --> PASSPO (HOT STAGE) --> Dorothy Little Happy (HOT STAGE) --> SUPER GIRLS (HOT STAGE) --> TGS (HOT STAGE) --> AeLL (HOT STAGE) --> Snack Umeko (Info Centre)

I waited for the rain to stop inside Wangan studio where only the staffs are allowed and get to see Babyraids, SUPER GIRLS Amita and Ruka and Shizukaze Kizuna in their regular cloth going home :D

I pretty much gave up on Azure Stage and DOll Factory since the lines are too long. Kadosawa-P said that the number is people are 1.5 times larger compared to last year and since there is less stages this time, getting inside smaller stage is pretty hellish.

managed to see in the first day: passpo (at odaiba gasshukoku event), lyrical school, otome shindou, lynx, yumemiru adolescence, passpo, afilia saga, erepyon, naaboudoufu, lucky color`s, passpo (again), 7cm (great surprise. it is actually a lot better than SDN), up up girls kakkokari and idol club night (short performances of ayaman japan, seiko omori, izukoneko, vanilla beans with an old man, hy4_4yh and BiS).

basically had to redo my schedule from time to time because of delays, difficulty to reach some stages (as I said earlier in this thread, this year the stages are too far away. on top of that, the lanes to enter are bigger than ever) and cancellations (mai kotone and pre-dia cancelled due to rain). my frustration was not being able to see pre-dia, bump.y and especia. only saw for the first time 7cm (great), lyrical school (great) and hy4_4yh (I regret the lifetime lost seeing this. in fact, the whole idol club night was terrible. even BiS performance was uninspired). akushukai with afilia only (handshaking. I plan on taking 2 shots in the second day).

let`s see how the second day will work out.

Someone stole my SUPER GiRLS towel during their Hot Stage performance :smhid 2nd row was totally not worth it. And it was their cool summer 2012 one, not the weird 2013 one.

I Hope it doesn't rain again... But it looks like it is XD

edit: The predia cancellation due to rain was tragic. I was in perfect position for front row, and sacrificed seeing GEM and Takokusekigun in order to stand in the 40 minute line up the lift. It was rough for predia too though. They were tweeting about it and they were on standby for close to an hour before the call was made to close the stages for the night. And they looked hot in the photos they took XD

second day: linQ; shizukaze & kizuna; shizukaze & kizuna (yes, again); pre-dia (these last two shows were added today to compensate the cancelled performances from yesterday); afilia saga; hkt48 (at smile garden. saw a part of it to tell the truth, since I had to see right after...); bump.y (hell yeah. I did most of the "kiss" coreography. take off your hats in awe, ok?  :P ); BiS; up up girls kakkokari; 7cm; mai kotone and a little part of the special encore live (with aell., up up girls, BiS and afilia).

you know, I'm already an oldie so I couldn't keep with the frenetic schedule of yesterday. saw considerably less performances this day and since the time table was horrible, couldn't take part of the akushukais (of any group that I like). pre-dia is not in my list of favorite groups (don't have a single mp3 of them) but I find it somewhat cool and had a good experience in the past so I was wanting to see them again. it turned that this performance at Azure stage was the highlight of the festival for me. really, no kidding. it was simply magical. I really hope a video of it pops out in the web. on the other hand...

despite being a long time BiS fan (my first show was at a small live house with no more than twenty wotas. so you can see how unknown they were back then. it less than a week after UK's graduation), I'm now seriously considering about stop following the group.  :( their shows are not like it once was. Tenten is a gem of an idol but the whole group looks so blasé nowadays. after some shows with the new BiS without Yuffie, I can assure you: it's not the same thing. BiS has lost a big part of its SOUL. and their shows are turning REALLY annoying, with a group of wotas "occupying the territory". they do always that silly "elect an top wota and carry him so he can say some things to his oshimen" (it is a new trend. never saw it happen before some months ago. nowadays, as far as I'm concerned, Bis, Shizukaze and Sanmyu~ wotas do this thing. maybe some few more fanbases) and look down on you if you try to stay near the stage in "their" area. I've never experienced this kind of thing before and if in the one-man next September such things happen again, it's over for me. I've other interesting (and unknown) groups knocking on the door, so...

^ I understand what your saying about fanbases killing the experience. A small percent of the SUPER GiRLS fanbase are some of the worst idol fans and totally ruined the experience for all of the girl fans (and most of the guys) in the front rows when they were at Hot Stage. TIF staff needs to stop looking the other way on stuff like this. On the other hand I thought AeLL's fanbase was the best. They respect each other and just have fun. And one guy was giving directions to the casual fans on what to do during their songs.

I'm glad you liked predia. I missed their make-up Sky Stage performance because I thought it would be too hot and after two years of being unable to see Houkago Princess I had to see them. But I was front row when predia was at Enjoy Stadium. Easily my favorite performance of this years TIF. And their Sky Stage night performance last year is my all-time favorite TIF moment. A lot of them recognized me (Reiko, Akane, and Maimai). Even though I've been to more than 10 of their lives I never got the impression that they remembered me despite being American (although I'm a halfie I still look completely non-Japanese), but several did this time.

Day 1 was a bust for me (SUPER GiRLS Hot Stage was really disappointing, predia and DLH were rained out, there were long lines everywhere all day, and I was lame and didn't have the patience to wait for BiS at the Club Night stage), but Day 2 completely made up for it. Also met Daydreamer0Fly during GEM's Hot Stage performance. All the cool people like GEM 8). I think I saw 28 groups on Day 2 and I'm not counting the "Jamboree Encore" with Idoling, Fudanjuku, etc and only counting the 5 street-sei groups as one group.

We are so lucky it rained today and not yesterday.

Well, they're saying they had 30,000 fans this year - which is funny since last years was supposed to be sold out and now they had 50% more)

It probably should be called "Tokyo Idol Con" because it doesn't really look like a fest with many groups performing at the same time, and therefore, in competition for people's attention and or cash...  The Jamboree was kinda interesting, for it being a true Fest should probably be in a huge open space with two stages with non stop performers and a bit of Jams here and there...

Post by: tsutomo on July 30, 2013, 04:29:03 PM
no way it had really 30000 people there. it seemed that the lanes were bigger and all, but it can easily be explained by their poor organization and less options of stages to see this year. such an increase would result in the Zepp stage completely crowded all the day, for example. and it didn`t happen. even the HKT48 show at the Garden (where people without tickets could watch too) wasn`t so freaking crowded, I expected way more people there. maybe they`re counting the people at Odaiba Gasshukoku too.  :P

qwiksXnd, I`m pretty aware that if you saw me you would call me a "bad idol fan" since I do a lot of things that may annoy people around me like wotagei moves, screams, oshi jumps, diving, moshing... so I won't be hypocrite and ask for more rigid rules. (in fact I'm always doing the opposite, asking for looser rules at Passpo shows) but imo everything has a limit. I (and most of the people) do such things just for fun. we don't make it to show off or try to be the center of attention. when your antics start affecting the whole show, I thing it's time to stop and rethink a little bit. they're not simply annoying some people around, but messing with the whole progression of the show, obligating the girls to stop their introductions and making the MC last like forever. at some point, I saw Mitchel starting to get annoyed with it, but I thought it was fake and part of her new character. but nowadays you can easily see that not only her but all the girls are getting fed up handling with this. but when someone like Nonchan comes and say angrily "can I say my catchphrase? will you calm down a little?!" instead of stopping with it, they laugh an go even further.  the wotas should be a part of the show, but not the MAIN one.

and on top of that there's the "get out of our turf" attitude. (that I'm here trying to avoid thinking of a xenophobic act, which would be even worse) I never saw it before, in any kind of show. they own the space in front of the stage? do they pay more for it? the ironic thing is that I'm probably a fan of the group for a longer time then they. the first time I remember seeing some of their faces was at the Akasaka Blitz one-man, after the group already signed with Avex and all. I'm used to see people having fun together, not this oligarchic thing. just to show how things are nowadays: during the performance at the main stage, a guy fell during one the songs. no one other than me helped him to get back on his feet. go to a punk rock show and see if this kind of thing happens... there's always at least four people helping you to get back and asking the people around to make space. I really fail to comprehend what the hell is going on with these people and from where they came. I miss BiS in the underground concerts...

the opposite of this is the Afilia fanbase, for example. it's always so friendship and funny to see their shows...

The fans I don't like are the ones who are in groups of 5 or 6 and wait until 30 seconds before a performance begins before crashing their way from the back all the way to the front. I've only really noticed this at SUPER GiRLS concerts and it's like clockwork for this to happen. One on one they would never act that way, but when they are with their friends they do. For the song "Everybody Jump!!" you're supposed to be jumping throughout, but there were so many people in the front that it was a struggle just to lift your arm to wave your glowstick. No one had any room to move a cm and it was a struggle just to remain standing. It was frustrating for all the fans who had to endure Vanilla Beans (no offense XD) and then get settled comfortably for SG, only for the experience to be messed up. And I knew it was going to happen, and I'm sure others knew also, but even though you are expecting it and prepared for it, it's still impossible to prevent. There were four girl fans in front of me and I knew something was going to happen to them, just based on experience. The members of SG also noticed what was happening at several points during their concert but there is nothing they can do about it. It's just annoying how selfish a very small number of fans are. I'm fine with moshing for some groups and thought it was a mistake for PASSPO's staff to enforce rules, but the issue with SG is a little different. The lame fans don't mosh they just knock over anyone in their way as they move toward the front. It would be very easy to have a few staff on the stage before they begin and ID the 10 or so fans who do this and kick them out.

well, in the case you're talking about, I think a "girl's area" would solve the problem, no? SG doesn't have one? like Passpo and some other groups... and yep, these guys that go and act in group are the worst. they may be the biggest losers on daily life, but when they get there with their fellows, they act like gangs and think everyone else is irrelevant and should just get off the way so they can be center of attention.

hey it's not fair to count groups you only heard one song! in this case my list would be a lot longer...  :P damn, I wanted to use this festival to know some new groups but in the end it turned that I almost only heard the ones I like or already knew from other festivals... at this point I'm really thinking that Idol Yokocho ones are better simply because the stages are closer...

someone from here is attending Summersonic this year or will I be the only wota going there to see idols in a rock fes?  :shakeit:

I actually mentioned to Daydreamer0Fly that there should be a girls section at Hot Stage, although technically I said something like "there should be a girls section and I should be allowed in it." SG has a girl section for their free-standing shows.

^ Has there been any word on whether there will be a TIF next year? Last year after the festival was over an "insider" on 2ch claimed there wouldn't be a TIF 2013. Obviously that person was wrong. This year wasn't as good as last year but despite the complaints it is still an amazing experience.

I thought the stages were a big improvement over last years. There just wasn't enough of them and the Venus Fort stage was a complete waste. I think Zepp Tokyo is a little better than DiverCity (although the walk is a few minutes longer), Doll Factory was much better this year, and obviously Enjoy Stadium was waaay better than Wonder Future Planet. They should have kept Secret Court and Fantastic Theater though just so the stages weren't so congested. And if they really want to take it to the next level, use both Zepp Tokyo and DiverCity.

Now....I've been watching the footage of TIF2013 "Fuji TV NEXT" Videos (Day 1 and 2) recently, and i couldn't find any Idol College footages at all lol...what's up with that?  :/ I just found it kinda strange, for an artist who manage to perform at the Hot Stage, but has ZERO coverage from any of the videos footage (i checked the 2 days digest also, can't seem to find anything either)

I agree that fanbases can totally kill the experience and spoil the mood.

Went for the passpo performance at hotstage with my friend from Singapore. We managed to squeeze in the middle (around 3-4 rows from the front) and once they started to perform, we keep getting pushed and squeezed like crazy, sometimes got hit also. Yeah i know you suppose to "prepare" for this kind of stuffs, since passpo quite famous for its moshing during flights and stuffs, but i actually felt bad with my friend.  After the performance....well he seems kinda dissapoined and wanted to "stop" following them (not sure if he meant it or not lol). This is really not my intention, as both of us wanted to enjoy the live as much as possible. sigh.

I also saw 2 passpo fans fight with each other, cuz one of them apparently keep pushing this dude. And the dude hits back at his head (quite hard too) and the dude almost cried (lol) and then gave up, got out from the hotstage (i think)

Another incident i saw one passpo fan accidentally hit one dude with a lightstick, then both of them fight also lol.

There's more of these i can recall...during Cheeky Parade at HoT stage.

Got this group of chikipa fans, quite wild, and just next to me there is this old lady (why an old lady here i also don't know) and i think his husband. so once the performance starts, as expected these group of fans keep moshing and do all kind of crazy things- until one of them actually bumped into the old lady. The (husband) seems fine at one or two occasion. But after three times, he couldn't take it and told the youngsters to "becareful" because there's an old lady there.

The young dude apologized. He was silenced for less than 3 minutes...before starts going crazy again LOL. Almost hit the old  lady again, but he saw the (husband) stare back at him so he moved away. Lol.

And during BIS performance at the hotstage....you can easily see some fans fighting at 4:01 lol (see below)

BiS - Nerve @ Hot Stage TIF 2013 Day 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTPf1KCxuGY#ws)

Well....awesome performance if you see from the video POV....but at the scene....things might not be so great lol.

Quite agree....been following AeLL for quite a while, and everytime i see their fans... they're all quite alright. Same thing can be said to Idol College and Dorothy Little Happy fans  8) Well...from my experience anyways

Quote
This year wasn't as good as last year but despite the complaints it is still an amazing experience.

Right on.  :D

PS:
The heavy rain one day 1 is quite an experience....me and my 3 other friends ran all the way from the smile garden to Hot Stage (then it starts to rain quite heavily outside Venus fort) so we got inside the venus fort, took the shortcut to the Zepp Tokyo (but still need to pass some non-sheltered areas). Got quite soaked up once we reach there (luckily not so bad) and inside the hotstage, we took cover at the 2nd Level - all the way at the back side.

We sit down for quite a while while waiting for BiS to perform at the Idol Club Night segment - and left after they finished performing lol. When they announced the Smile garden performance was cancelled (Dorothy Little Happy) and i was quite sad...but then later on i found out that its only posponed (to the next day) and not cancelled, so in the end i am quite happy lol....Watched the Dorothy Little Happy performance at the Smile Garden on the last day with a bunch of friends and it was awesome.  :twothumbs Thank god its not cancelled

Left after the Dorothy Little Happy performance - saw AeLL board their own mini van - then went to the train station. Once we reached Shimbashi Station, we bumped into some chikipa members hahaha. :w00t:  But we don't want to disturb them so we went to have dinner instead. :smhid

Anyways....that's some of my experience from this year TIF lol  :P2

So, I haven't posted yet despite this being the best experience of my life. Been really busy since coming home as well as REALLY jetlagged. xD My body without a doubt wants to live in Japan, because witching to their time was easy- switching back is proving impossible xD

Anyway, I plan to make a biiiiggg blog post this weekend about my TIF experiences (and then another about the rest of my Japan trip) but for now, jsut wanna say some things:

Being a young, foreign, female fan is the best weapon there is when it comes to idols. Fans are so interested in you and try talking to you and help you with anything if you're confused. I even had an experience where a guy got me from i don't even know what row into front row in time to see Dancing Dolls. (My fave group there, and the group I am with in my avatar picture.) He wasn't rude or anything, he just saw me constantly checking the schedule when a new group came out (trying to figure out how long I had to get close) and then squeezing and peeking around everyone. He called me up to him and slowly helped me get closer, and when Dancing Dolls were coming out I guess I made a noise and freaked and he asked if they were the group I liked and I nodded furiously and he said something to people (lots of Japanese I didn't understand) and they moved and suddenly I'm in front lmao.

Next...you know how lots of lesser-known idols were walking from stages to the goods area and such? Well I had SO MANY stop and try to talk to ME like I was the celebrity lmao. I couldn't understand mostly but we tried, and they seemed impressed I was there xD I got called cute BY IDOLS more times than I could ever count, and the number of times I heard idols say "Sugoi" after seeing/talking to me.....xD I got pictures of LinQ and Sunmyu when they were walking by, and one of the LinQ girls grabbed another girl and made her pose for me lmao it was cute.

I ended up RIGHT next to one of my favorite groups, GEM, when watching their sister group, Cheeky Parade. Chikipa's crowds are a bit intimidating and it was smile stage so I figured I'd watch from a far-off but high (so I could still see) place with shade. Suddenly, ALL OF GEM walks by and decides to watch while standing RIGHT NEXT TO ME. They didn't seem to really notice me (they came in from behind) but when BUNBUN NINE9' came on, I got really excited and did the chants and most of them turned and looked so surprised and started smiling so big and cute. From then on, they all started doing all the chants too!! xD From then on, Yuu also kept looking over at me and smiling the biggest smile ever. It was real cute, but she kept doing it and I kept smiling back and wasn't sure what else to do. I got kinda flustered xD I started like blushing and looking down some lmao.
A lot of the members kept peeking here and there at me and smiling and giving little waves. My favorite, Maho, still hadn't turned once. Dunno if she knew I was even there. She was crazy focused on the performance. She was mouthing all the words and doing all the moves (although obviously just small and in place) but she totally looked like she wanted to be up on that stage performing haha.
Suddenly one of the members next to her smiled at me and then whispered in Maho's ear. Maho turned to her a bit, then did a total 180 and looked right at me. She gave me the most perfect smile ever and waved really big with both hands. I waved back and smiled and died inside. (Still wondering what caused this. I had a Maho uchiwa in my bag that didn't quite fit, so I wonder if when I was dancing my bag spun some and they noticed it was Maho?? Or the girl may have just been like "Hey foreign girl, look Maho" lmao idk. But regardless, it was unbelievably amazing.

I went to Dancing Dolls' handshake event and they were all perfect and amazing and were calling me cute and asking if I came to Japan for Tokyo Idol Festival and they were just great. When I got to my favorite member, Mii, she instantly tries speaking English with me. She says "Hello! I...saw you....yesterday. Yes??" (She meant when I went to their event for the cheki) I nodded furiously and then she goes "A..and today...Dolls Factory." which is where I got to the front row to see them. I hadn't thought any of them noticed me there (they get REALLY focused on their dancing) but it seems like she did. I got so happy ;____; I nodded and said I love Dancing Dolls (in Japanese) and she goes "Thank you!!!" in English. (It was funny because throguh the whole conversation, we were both struggling to try and answer in the others' language xDDD) Before leaving I said "Mii daisuki!!!" and she goes "Ah!" and she points to herself and says "Me too" and then points to me and says "you!" and it was pretty much the cutest and best thing in the universe.

Other cool things were me getting in front 4 rows for everything I attended, including first row and very center for Super Girls. <33333

All in all......best experience of my life by far.

first of all, I`m relieved to see that I`m not the only one that was disturbed with some people in the crowd. it`s not just me being too picky after all. and I`m even more relieved that there are still some nice people around (as the guy who helped Daydreamer).

He left idoling!!! but is there any word on him leaving fujitv or something?? Maybe he left to make several TIFs next year...

well, according to people at 2ch (ok, not the best source but better than nothing) he will not take part of any idol related stuff anymore, will work in a different area/program.

sorry dude, I would like to help if I understood the question... you`re talking about who, to be exact? the host that talked about the festival on TV in some kind of program? if you tell the name of it I can do a search for you.

it`s cool that you have some nice stories to tell, Daydreamer. don`t forget to post a link here when your posts are done.  ;)  I wish I had more stories too but I think I`m too accustomed to all of this already that usually pass by the groups and don`t even look at them.  :nervous I only shared some some smiles and waved to a girl from a group (don`t remember anymore... it was one of those "unknown groups") that was staring at me like if I was an alien, super-hero or something. rofl
