Inspired by a brief discussion in the jphip chatroom,
What are the sites that are always open on your browser?
How many tabs do you normally have open?
I have on average 10 tabs open:
- My two gmails
- this forum
- my LJ
- poupeegirl (I imagine I'll stop keeping this open once the site closes, though...)
- ER episode guide to remind me which episode I watched last (it's a long process)
The rest are tabs that are temporarily relevant, like a link to an anime I'm watching right now, links that remind me of jobs I should apply for or fan projects I've yet to finish, etc. I basically keep those open until I get the related things done which may vary from days to weeks to months (lol)

On my desktop I usually have 20-40 tabs open
I don't really have my pages that I always have open ( I guess the only one is Facebook), but I have a lot of tabs that are open for weeks/months until I have to close them due to performance issues.. :P
But this is what i usually have open:
-- YouTube (with both music and cool/fun clips)
-- Pictures/gifs
-- Twitter/Tweetdeck
-- Tutorials/Articles for stuff I've read that I've read and I want to reread, or articles I've opened and intend or reading later
-- Things I don't want to lose (can be everything above)
-- Episodes of anime/dramas
On my laptop which is a lot newer than my desktop computer I usually have 200+ tabs open before I decide to go through everything and figure out which tabs I can close. The reason why I get so many tabs is because I usually don't close stuff, so it just keeps piling up ^^;;
Edit: Oh, and to my fellow tab hoarders:

7-10 tabs open average:
- Jph!p forum
- 2 local toy/figure forums
- 1-2 foreign toy/figure review blogs
- blog!project
- Youtube
- 1-2 anime and/or toku subbers
+1 tab of our local intranet portal at work so I can switch to it whenever I feel like someone is approaching or going to ask me to do something
-
Only 4 tabs that are kept protected (locked):
- JPH!P forum
- Photobucket
- Outlook Webmail
- Pulse (browser version, showing AKB fan rss feeds)
Other stuff to keep tabs as low as possible:
Firefox "RSS Ticker add-on" - All those H!P and AKB blog feeds, rolling at the bottom of the screen
Firefox "My Weekly Browsing Schedule" add-on - Opening jap dramas/anime subber's pages (set on the day they normally post them). And regular daily reading (e.g. the weather page in the morning, CAD comics in the afternoon)
Rainmeter program - Showing an rss feed with gaming/jdrama news feeds. With Kotaku's rss as main

My tabs are relatively minimal, possibly due to memory crash paranoia from a different era.
-- GMail
-- Asian DVD Club tracker
-- Tweetdeck (if the old classic desktop version is wonky)
-- Yahoo Mail (yep, I use Y!M extensively)
-- Mixi, sometimes (anyone still use this?)

^ I just get updates from your mixi to my email, but I haven't logged in in years and so I only ever see the topic lines.
