Title: Satellite radio in recordings row
Post by: Foxy Brown on May 18, 2006, 10:32:37 PM
US satellite radio firm XM is being sued by record labels over a gadget that lets listeners record songs.

The recording industry said XM's Inno device, which stores music and divides it into tracks, infringes copyright.

The lawsuit seeks $150,000 (£79,537) in damages for every song copied by XM customers to an Inno gadget.  (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4989498.stm)

Record labels don't seem to realize that if music is played somewhere in some medium, someone will find a way to copy it. :sweatdrop:
