Cambodia's prime minister, Hun Sen, yesterday banned the latest generation of mobile phone services in Cambodia to curb the spread of pornography, heeding a request from his wife. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,,1784216,00.html)

I guess they've an election soon in Cambodja. Popularity tricks like this always take the focus from more serious issues.

I don't know if there's democracy in Cambodja though :P

Yes, she was quite good-looking and I imagine it was pictures of her. No face in the pictures so I am not sure.

I found it all very amusing.

there's no black market for cell phones that won't work - no 3G network means the handsets would be useless. watch, instead for either a: a reversal of this policy following the upcoming election; or b: the awarding of a 3G contract to a network with closer 'contacts' to Hun Sen.
