Good Morning Everyone.

This is my first fanfic. PLease tell me your honest opinions.  :welcome :dozing: :dozing: :dozing:


Chapter ONE.

The alarm goes off and disturbs my sleep. I open my eyes and see that it’s still dark. The sun hasn’t risen yet. I groan as I see the time on my side table.

“Ugh it’s only 5am” I say aloud talking to myself. Reluctantly, I get out of bed and prepare for the day ahead.

After spending too much time in the shower I realize that I am now running late for work. In a rush, I grab my stuff and a slice of bread from the kitchen and head of the door.

To free a hand, I place the toast in my mouth to lock the door. As I was doing so, someone from a couple of doors down the hall is also about to leave their condo.
 
A girl looks at me and gives me a smile as an acknowledgement. I’m not going to lie, I think she’s beautiful. Her long black hair fits her face nicely, she has a nice figure. What I remember the most about are a couple of things. First are her eyes, they’re not blue or green like what others would mostly admire but big brown beautiful eyes, the type that are inviting and the type that can put anyone at ease. Second would be her million dollar smile. She smile would make anyone even in their bad mood sincerely smile back. I also noticed a small wrinkle on the nose which I find dangerously cute. One thing is though, she looks extremely familiar but for the life of me I can’t put a finger on it.

I wave at her with a key in my hand. I’ve only been in this building for a couple of months and I’ve seen her a couple of times.

We’ve never talked to each other. Every time we cross paths the only thing exchanged is a smile to each other.

I quickly finish my toast. It seems like we are both headed for the elevator. My place being closer to it, I arrive there first. The elevator opens and she hasn’t arrived it. Since it was empty I held it open and waited for her.

“Thank you so much “she says slightly bowing with gratitude.

“Don’t mention it “I say to her with a smile.

Standing there looking at the ceiling, an awkward silence engulfs the elevator. This is going to be a long elevator ride I think to myself. We are from the 48th floor after all. I decide to break the silence and turn to her.

“I’m Taka..”
“I’m Maed..”

We both say in unison. We can help but laugh at little at the timing.

“Oh sorry go ahead” I motion my hand for her to go first.

“My name is Maeda Atsuko “she says to me with a small giggle as she hands out her hand.

Even her name sounds familiar I think so myself.

“Nice to meet you Maeda-san. I’m Takahashi Minami” I take her hand in mine and shake it. I noticed how soft her hands are as I shook it.

The elevator comes to a stop as we let go of our handshake.

We arrive at the first floor and head out to the lobby.

“ Ah, my ride is here. See you around Takahashi-san” she waves bye as she gets into the car waiting for her.
She was gone before I could say anything, so I waved bye hoping she’d see it as a reply.

“ Maeda Atsuko “ I mutter to myself. As I get into the car awaiting for me as well.

With my mind occupied trying to figure out where I’ve see my neighbor before, I her my phone ring.

Knowing who it is, I press answer and place the phone on my ear.

“ Takamina, where are you!? The architects are here for the meeting you’re late. “ says my business partner Minegishi Minami. Takamina has been my nickname since we were young. We always called each other by our nicknames because we are both
Minamis to avoid confusion.

“ Relax Mii-chan. I just arrived. I’ll be up in a minute” I reply getting out of the car.

The perks of being the boss is that you’re never late. Everyone is just simply early.

Mii-chan and I started our own real estate business right out of grad school. We began by selling houses, then to buying old beat up houses, fixing them to sell for a higher profit. It eventually evolved to building apartment buildings to shopping malls. You can say that we’ve built our own empire and have stapled our reputation in the business world.

We’ve built our own office building in Tokyo and the conceded side of us decided to name it MINAMIS. Mainly because we thought it’d be hilarious.

Entering the building to head for the meeting, I am greeted by every employee that passes me. I’d like to think that my employees like me. Mii-chan and I have given the approachable atmosphere at work. But when it comes to business we can be seen a lions.

Passing by the reception desk, I glance at the news and stop right on my tracks.

I see a familiar face on T.V. It’s Maeda Atsuko. Kicking myself in the head I cannot believe I did not realize it sooner. I let out an audible laugh. Maeda Atsuko the famous actress in Japan is my neighbor. Maeda Atsuko the actress had small talk with me this morning.

I head to the meeting with my business face on and start begin my day at work.

Honestly?

I really like it. It's really refreshing and new. Of course Atsuko would be the famous actress, but I didn't think Minami was gonna be a head Business person. I thought she would be a famous Soloist instead. It's also really interesting that both Minami and Atsuko live in the same apartment? condo?

I very much looking for to the next chapter, and since this is AtsuMina (hopefully it'll stay that way!!!) more KUDOS to you  :heart:

Chapter 2

The meeting is finally over. And I am exhausted. Running a multi-million dollar company is tiring. Lucky Mii-chan and I have each other. I love my job. Knowing that the company was built from the ground by my best friend and I makes it a whole lot more rewarding.

I decided to get out of the car early tonight and have my driver take the rest of the night off. I head to the grocery store near my condo. I am starving. Since I don’t cook much mainly because I am too tired from work, I mostly just buy readymade bentos.

Upon entering the grocery store, I head straight for the bentos. This is a routine for me. Same thing every night after work. Lucky it wasn’t too busy, I was the first in line and was able to pay for my food right away.

I arrive at the lobby and get in the elevator. As the doors were closing I hear a familiar voice.

“Hold the door please “

I stop the door from closing and see Maeda-san standing in front of me trying to balance a ton of grocery bags in her arms.

She sees me and a big smile appears from her face.

“ Ah Takahashi-san Thank y—“ she was cut off mid-sentence tripping as she enters the elevator.

Lucky I was already in front of her catching her before she falls.

For a second, it felt like the world has stopped. My arms are on her to prevent her from falling. As I look up I could see her big brown eyes looking back into mine it was as if none of us wanted to look away..we could feel each other’s’ breaths. The sound of her grocery hitting the elevator floor brought us back to our senses.

Snapping back to reality we pull away from each other.

“ Are you okay? “ I ask her worriedly

“ I am thanks to you Takahashi-san “ she says as we both bend down to pick up her stuff.

Helping her put her things back into their bags, I say to her “ Call me Minami “

Blushing, she says “ thank you so much again Minami. Please call me Atsuko. “

“ Don’t mention it Atsuko” I flash her a smile. Once I said her name, I noticed her turn her head away slightly embarrassed.

“Here let me help you carry some of your stuff” I take a couple of bags from her hand before she could refuse.

“ Arigatou “ she bows expressing her gratitude.

Noticing the bento I previous purchased, she asks “Are you about to have dinner?”

Completely forgetting about the bento I look as my other hand seeing the bento there, I nod and reply

 “ Yea. I’m too tired to cook to I always just end up with a store bought bento. “ laughing a bit just thinking of how pathetic I just sounded.

Flashing me her smile once again she says  “Ano..How about you come over to my place. I’m about to cook dinner and I’d like it if you joined me”

“ Oh no no. It’s okay I don’t want to intrude” I say waving my hand side to side in front of my face.

“ Please? Think of it as a thank you so holding the elevator for me this morning and for just now. “ she says looking at me with I could have sworn to be puppy dog eyes.

Giving up to the temptation, I reply “ oh alright. You talked me into it “

We arrive at her apartment. She opens the door and let me in. Standing by the entry way I take in the first sight of her place. I was
a big apartment. Open space, the kitchen living room and dining room in one. Her television is surrounded by what seemed like hundreds of movies and shows. It’s to be expected of a movie star. Her furniture’s are tastily picked and suited her perfectly. Modern with a hint of contemporary.  Did I mention the size? It’s a big place. That’s a given though, we do live in a very upscale building.

“ Welcome to my home “ Atsuko says as she enters the kitchen.

“ You have a very nice place. It is okay if I help you? “ I say as I follow her in the kitchen placing the bags on the table.

“ Sure that’s be great thank you. “ she replies laughing as I’m already washing my hands on the sink getting ready to help her.

“ What are we making “ I ask her taking the stuff out of their bags.

“ Katsudon. “ she tilts her head to the side as she sees my face light up upon hearing the word. Giggling, “ I take you like
Katsudon? “ she asks.

“ It’s my favorite! “ I immediately reply back unable to contain my excitement.

2 hours later..

“ I am stuffed! Thank you so much for the food!” I say as I lightly pat my now full stomach

“ Im glad you enjoyed it. You did help you know “ she says as she begins to place our dishes in the dishwasher.

I help her by bringing mine over to the machine. I quickly turn around and here a loud thud the glass shattering on the floor. Oh
NO! I accidently bumped into her.

“ Atsuko! are you okay? “ I help her up quickly. Checking her out if she was harmed in away way. Thankfully she was fine.

“ Oh NO! Minami! You’re bleeding.” She screams looking as my arm. There is a shard of glass sticking out of it. I didn’t even notice.

I was more worried about her.

She pulls me to the living room and motions me to sit on the couch. I obey without a question.

“ I’m okay. Don’t worry. It’s just a small scratch.” I say watching her bring a first aid kit from the washroom.

She sits on the couch and pulls my arm making her face towards her.

She begins tending to my wound with her gentle and soft touches.

Silence fills the room as I watch her cover up my fresh cut.

“ I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault” she says her voice cracking as she apologized.

“ No, not at all. I should have watched where I was going. I’m fine see? All thanks to you. ” lifting my arm to show her I’m fine.

Still not over it, Atsuko still has her head facing the ground sobbing a little.

I take my hand and place it on her chin lifting her head up to look at me. Looking into her eyes, I smile at her. I then place my hand
on her cheek wiping her tears away with my thumb.

I then pull a funny face making her smile. “ Now there’s the million dollar smile I’ve been looking for”

“ Ano.. Did you want to stay for a bit and watch a movie?” She asks me.

At this point I did not want to go home yet. “ Sure. Why not. You pick though, I’m no good at picking movies”

Atsuko places a movie in the player. It looks like a Romantic Comedy.

When the movie began, we were sitting on opposite ends of the couch. We gradually began inching closer and closer to each other.

By the time we reached the middle of the movie, I notice that Atsuko and I are already sitting beside each other.

Without thinking, not knowing that came over me, I placed my arm around her shoulder as we watched. I was pleasantly surprised

when I did so, she rested her head on shoulder and her hand on my waist as we continued to watch the rest of the movie.

By the time the movie ended, we were both exhausted. It was time for me to go home. Atsuko walks me to the door.

“ Thank you so much for the dinner and having me over at your place Atsuko.”

“ Don’t mention it. It was all I could do” she says looking at my arm again.

I pull her into a hug. Slowing pulling away, my arms still around her.. I look into her eyes another time. She’s so close. We can feel
each others breathing.. I can see her biting her lower lip…and within that second she inches closer having her soft lush lips touch mine. It was brief but it felt like forever.

She pulls away and says “ Goodnight Minami” as she closes her door.

I stood there dumbfounded at what just happened.

“ G..Goodnight Atsuko”

MY ATSUMINA IS SOOO CUTE!!! I can't believe they already got so close to each other (physically) and Atsuko kissed Minami!!! KYAAA!!!  :shy2:

I wonder what will happen next morning. They will probably meet in the elevator again, but it probably awkward hahaha  :hiakhiakhiak:

XCHAPTER 3



I wake up the next morning with what happened yesterday still vivid in my mind. Her sweet smell still seems to linger around me and the feel of her soft lips on mine are still present as if they were just still there.

As usual I get up and do my normal routine. Leaving my place, I head for the elevator my eyes down the hall hoping to see her smile this morning. The elevator arrives and still no sign of her. Disappointed, I reluctantly, enter the elevator and head for work.

“ Takamina. Hey Takamina! Are you listening or what” Mii-chan says waving her hand in front of her friend’s face to get her attention.

Snapping out of my daze, “ Yes, Mii-chan I’m listening.”

“ Alright. What was I saying then” she replies as she across her arms on her chest looking at me with on eyebrow up.

“ Okay Okay. You caught me. I wasn’t.” knowing full well that I can’t lie to her

“ What is wrong with you anways. You seem off today. “ she looks at me with concern

I let out a sigh and tell her everything that happened last night. Yes, Everything. Even down to the kiss. I tell Mii-chan everything. One thing I’ve learned is that Mii-chan has always been there for me whenever I’m troubled.

I look at Mii-chan pleading for any form of reaction.

“ WOW! WOOOWWWW!”  Were the first things that came from her mouth

“ What??” I say with a confused look

“ You know Takamina. You’re like a sister to me and I will be honest with you. Personally, I think this might be going a little too fast for you. I don’t know what Maeda-san or Atsuko as you call her is thinking but I think you’ll need to take it slow. I mean, you’ve just met her and hardly know much about each other. I remember when you and your You-Know-Who broke up, you were a mess. It took a while for me to have the normal you back. But THE MAEDA ATSUKO. WOWWWW “ she says with concern and intrigue in her eyes

“ I know I know “ I say sighing as I place my head in my arms resting it on my desk.

“ Get your butt up. We are going to lunch. We’re having lunch with Mariko today. “ Mii-chan says excitedly as we make our way out of the building

We head over to small café not too far from our building. We arrive there first and requested for a patio seating since it was a beautiful day out. Mii-chan and I order our coffees as we wait for Mariko.

We met Mariko while we were in business school. She’s been one of my best friends since then. She’s more like an older sister to me. Her and Mii-chan had been dating since we graduated. Way before we became successful. And no one can say she’s only after Mii-chan’s money because Mariko runs her own thriving fashion line.
Mariko arrives and heads straight for us. She gives me a peck on the cheek as a greeting and a quick peck on her girlfriend’s lips.

“ What’s wrong Takamina? You’re not your normal Baka self” Mariko says trolling as she sits beside Mii-chan.
Before I could say anything Mii-chan chimes in. “ She has a thing for Maeda Atsuko”

Sighing. “ I don’t know what it is “

Mii-chan knowing I don’t want to repeat myself again, tells my story to Mariko.

“ Well, you’re not going to hear anything from me that my Mii-chan hasn’t told you yet. But I’m sure you already know to take it
easy. I’m surprised to hear you’ve kissed already. You’re always shy and always took your time. I remember with You-Know-Who, you’ve taken a liking to her because she helped you break out of your shell and thought you to be more assertive. Mii-chan and I don’t want you to be hurt again. Both of us know that you can make your own decisions and you know what’s best for you. We just want you to be happy. ” Mariko says as she eats her salad

“ I know. Thanks for worrying about me guys. I’ll be fine.” I smile at them thankfully

“ What makes me wonder though. What does a movie star like her see in a midget like you “ Mariko says in her usual trolling voice
Mariko and Mii-chan giggle at the comment. The day isn’t complete without picking on Takamina first. I scoff at the thought. To be honest, I’ve gotten so used to it that sometimes I’m actually grateful of them.

“ You know, Takamina. I have a lot of beautiful models who work for me. You’re sound just come meet them they’re all nice and interesting girls. “ Mariko says in a half teasing, half serious tone in her voice.

We continue to eat lunch updating each other about our companies. We always valued each other’s opinions when it comes to our businesses.

As lunch ends, Mariko and I do our usual kiss on the cheek while saying bye to each other. Her and Mii-chan share a hug and a kiss.

“ See you at home Mii-chan. See you later Takamina.” Mariko waves bye to us as we head in separate directions.
Towards the end of the day, Mii-chan and I leave the office together and head to our respected homes. We both have service cars each waiting on us to drive us anywhere we please.

“ Bye Mii-chan. Say Hi to Mariko for me” I wave at her as I get in the car.

“ See you tomorrow “ she replies as she too gets in her ride.

As the car pulls up at my building, I see Atsuko walking to towards the lobby. I arrive at the doorway a couple of steps before her. Watching her, look at me she flashes a smile. Her smile is slightly different this time though. While still beautiful as always, it wasn’t a full smile that makes her nose wrinkle and her eyes smaller. I know right away that something was bothering her. Without even thinking about it, I stand in front of it and block her way. Before she could say anything I cut her off.

“ It’s my turn to provide you dinner today” I look at her putting my best effort to show puppy dog eyes. Taking a chance hoping she’s free this evening

“ Hello to you too Minami. You’re adorable you know that. Sure I don’t see why not” she says giggling a little

Blushing a little with her “adorable” comment, I feel a tinge of accomplishment that she agreed to go grab dinner with me.

“ Yatta! I know a restaurant around the corner. It’s not too far from here” I say leading the way as we walk side by side

“How was work today? “ I say starting a conversation

“Eh. It was tiring. I had to leave for work earlier than usual this morning”  Atsuko replies with a sigh

“AH! I shouldn’t have come over last night! I’m sorry for keeping you up “ I say bowing slightly

“Oh no don’t be. I had a lot of fun last night “ she says as I see her blushing slightly and biting her lower lip from the corner of my eye.

While walking I feel her arm wrap around mine pulling us closer as we head over our destination.

“Yea, me too.” I reply as the kiss from last night makes an appearance in my mind

“Ano.. Atsuko, you seemed a little down earlier. Everything okay? I ask while we continue walking side by side

“It’s nothing big really. You’ll probably think it’s stupid “ Atsuko replies

“You’ll feel better once you’ve talked about it. I like to think of myself a good listener. You can use me as an outlet. But only if you feel comfortable enough of course. “ I say to her with a reassuring smile

Before she could reply, we arrive outside the restaurant and I hold the door open for her.

“ We’re here! “ as I hold the door with a smile

We step inside and the hostess seats us on a table for two near the window overlooking the now crowded street of people probably heading home for the end of the day

The waitress greets us giving me an acknowledging smile.

“ Good Evening Takahashi-san. Looks like you brought company with you today.” Says Kuramochi-san the restaurant owner

“ Ah Yes, this is my friend Maeda Atsuko. Atsuko, this Kuramochi Asuka the owner of this lovely resaurant “ I reply introducing the two

“ Silly Takahashi-san. I thought I told you to call me Asuka.” Kuramochi-san looks at me with a smirk and then extends her hand out to shake Atsuko’s hand “ It’s an honor to have a famous celebrity like to in my restaurant Maeda-san. I am a fan “

Atsuko shakes the girls hand “ Thank you. It’s a lovely place you have here. Minami was kind enough to invite me to dinner and brought me here tonight” smiling in my direction as she mentions my name

A hint of disappointment or maybe jealousy come across Kuramochi-san’s face upon hearing Atsuko say my name with a sense of closeness between the two of us.

I’m a frequent customer at SHONICHI. I often come here alone though, never really brought anyone with me before. I’ve become familiar with the staff there and somehow always had the owner Kuramochi-san serve me. If I didn’t know any better I’d think she likes me. Mii-chan always says I’m oblivious to these kind of things. I can’t even tell if Atsuko likes me. All I know is that I really like seeing her. Despite being a girl, I’ve been told that I am a natural Ikemen and that I’m the long term boyfriend/girlfriend material.

Once taking our order, Kuramochi-san walks away to get our food ready

“ She’s awfully friendly isn’t she? And make sure to call her Asuka“ Atsuko says with a hint of teasing in her voice as she get her utensil and napkin ready

“ I only call people by their names if I find myself at ease or comfortable with them. And only those who are close to me call me Minami” I reply as I drink my water

She slightly tilts her head and says “ You’re comfortable enough with me to be okay calling me Atsuko then? And it’s really okay for
me to call you Minami?

“ mmHmm” I say nodding my head “ I don’t know how to explain it but I really do feel at ease with you. Despite the fact that we’ve
just started talking yesterday. I don’t know how to explain it really.

Our food arrives and I continue to rumble on trying my best to keep our conversations going. I don’t really need to try hard since
she’s so easy to talk to.

I tell her about my work and the kind of job that I do. While talking, I can see that she actually is sincerely interested.

“ Wow. So you’re pretty much a big shot in the real estate business” she says while see continues to devour her dessert.

“ It’s nothing compared to being the most sought after movie star in Japan” I say to her not as a tease but with admiration

“ I love my job. I do but it really does take a toll on me sometimes. Today for example, when you asked if something was wrong it was because of work. “ Atsuko says to me with a hint of disappointment

“ What happened?” I ask with concern

“it’s nothing big really. I was shooting for a drama today and it just didn’t feel like I was giving it my all. We had to do a bunch of retakes because of me.“ she says with a sigh

“ Don’t beat yourself up over it. Everyone gets an off day every once in awhile. It’s completely understandable. You are amazing at
what you do. And I’m sure they only did those extra retakes to make sure to get the best angles. But I’m sure every shot is perfect because I know for a fact that you’ll look great in any shot” I smile at her reassuringly.

“ Thank you.” Atsuko says flashing me a grateful smile

“ Anytime” I say with a smug look on my face knowing I’ve made her feel better

After dinner Atsuko and I take a leisure stroll back to our building. The walk took longer than on our way to the restaurant because we stopped along the way for Atsuko to pet some cute dogs that passed us. i’m more of a cat person myself but I’ve grown to like dogs. They’re fun.

When we arrived at our building, I decided to walk Atsuko to her door. When we finally reach her door she turns around and hugs me.

“ Thank you for everything today. I had a lot of fun” she says as we pull away

“ It’s only fair since you made me dinner last night.” I reply

We exchange mobile numbers before I head home.

“ I have fun today too. Good night Atsuko.” I wave at her as I begin to take steps towards my apartment

“ Ano.. You forgot something” I hear her say

I turn around and feel her soft lips on mine once again. This time, unlike the last I kiss her back. After what felt like hours, she pulls away and says “Good Night Minami”

In a daze, I somehow managed to find my way home and get myself ready for bed. I check my phone to set my alarm tomorrow morning I see a message.

“ Thank you for inviting me to dinner, listening to me about my silly work issue today and most of all thank so much for making my day better.

I can’t wait for see you at the event tomorrow”

sorry for the wait guys! been busy with work. and I am writing it out as I go. please don't hesitate to give some of our ideas. I appreciate the comments!!!


Chapter 4

“Atsuko,

Do your best at work today. Please don’t forget to just enjoy it and have fun.

Minami”


I place my phone in my pocket as I get up and leave my office and head for Mii-chan’s office. It’s a short walk seeing it’s just right next door to mine.

I barged into her office without knocking and I find her napping on the couch near her window.

Quietly, I walk over to my sleeping friend and I just couldn’t resists the temptation. Holding my laughter, I pinch her nose to prevent her from breathing.

“ MOU!” Mii-chan jumps awake from her slumber.

Finally unable to hold it in, I let out my laughter. “ OHAYO! Mii-channnnnn”

“Ugh, you’re a jerk Takamina” Mii-chan says throwing a small pillow at me.

Catching it the pillow before hitting my face I ask “What’s got you so tired anyways?”

“It’s Mariko’s fashion show tonight and she’s been up all night getting everything together. You know how much of a perfectionist she is. Everything has to be down to the tee. And of course being the best girlfriend that I am, stayed up with her to help and make sure she doesn’t lose her mind” Mii-chan explains sitting up on the couch rubbing her eyes awake.

“AH!” I shout with a terrified expression on my face. “I completely forgot about the show tonight! I forgot Mariko asks us to be there
for support” I say while giving myself a face palm. I can already she Mariko’s face had I forgotten about it. It gives me the shivers

“Lucky you remembered. She would have killed you. “ Mii-chan laughs at the thought “You’ve been too occupied with your Atsuko lately. It’s no surprise you forgot. What’s going on with you guys anyways?” she continues

“I really like her” I reply taking a seat beside her on the couch. “I can hardly understand it myself. I find it hard to explain. I really like spending time with her. But somehow whatever this is, I fell very optimistic about it.”

 “As long as you’re happy. Actually, do you want to go Shibuya with me? We’re pretty much done work for today and the show isn’t till later this evening.” She getting off the couch.

I check my phone to look at the time. Mostly to check if Atsuko replied. Still no reply though. She’s probably busy with work.

“Sure why not. I need to buy some mangas anyways.” I say following her out the door.


Upon arriving in Shibuya, we head straight to Mugiwara’s One Piece store. I love this place. They have everything you can think of in regards to One Piece.  After spending sometime at the store, Mii-chan and I head to the arcade.  The two of us frequently visit the arcade not just because it’s fun, but also because it is a great stress reliever for us.

While playing a new popular zombie game side by side, we both receive a hug from the back. Surprised, we both turn around and see a familiar face.

“Hi guys!!!!” says the ever energetic squirrel, exposing her dimples

“Yatta! Yuko! What are you doing here?  I ask as we both hug our little friend

“I got sick of work so I left early and headed here to relax.” Yuko says laughing “I’m so happy to see you guys! I’ve missed you”

“We saw you a couple of weeks ago. But yes I missed you too” Mii-chan replies pinching Yuko’s cheeks

“I’m not gonna lie, I missed you a little bit” I say to my friend

“I’m craving crepes. Let’s go get some” Yuko says rubbing her stomach

“Alright” Mii-chan and I say in unison. We are hungry too

Yuko, like Mariko is one of our best friends. Mii-chan and I also met her in business school. We all might seem like easy go lucky people but we are all hard workers who now have very successful blooming businesses. Yuko is one of the founders of a recording company called Team K. They have a lot of upcoming and current stars signed in Team K. Yuko just has the eye for spotting talent.

“Ne. Yuko. Are you going to the show tonight too?” asks Mii-chan eyeing the squirrel

“Duh! Of course. Mariko would have killed me otherwise. Plus, I can’t wait to see my girlfriend.” Yuko replies with a perverted look on her face

“Just make sure you don’t bother her too much. She’ll be working you know.” I say to Yuko

“I know I know. Oh by the way. How’s your girlfriend??” Yuko ask with a mischievous smile

I look at Mii-chan “Did you tell her too?”

“Nah uh. I didn’t” she replies as she takes a bite of her crepe

I roll my eyes “Sure you didn’t. And no Yuko, she is not my girlfriend. We are just friends. Besides, similar to what I told Mari-chan and Mii-chan. I don’t know what it is either.

“I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Why don’t you just try talking to her about it? At least that way you’ll know where her head is at too. I’m glad you have someone especially after the aftermath with You-Know-Who.” Yuko says while finishing her snack

“Ugh, you guys need to stop bringing her up you know. It’s been two years. I am utterly and completely over her.” I say to them trying to reassure my friends

“We know you are Takamina. We’re just saying we’re happy you’re back to normal.” Mii-chan throws her crumpled up napkin at me

“Hey. Since we are all going to the show tonight, why don’t we all go together? I’ll have my driver and I pick you two up at 7pm?” Yuko says getting ready to leave

“That sounds like a good idea. We probably should head home too.” nodding my head in agreement with Yuko

“Alright, See you later” Mii-chan says as we begin to head the opposite direction as Yuko

We arrive at the venue half an hour before the show starts. The outside is filled with paparazzi trying to snap shots of celebrities that are attending. As Yuko, Mii-chan and I get out of the car to head inside we were immediately bombarded by the media taking pictures of us. We might not be celebrities but our businesses have made us known all over Japan. It doesn’t hurt to know that the other two are dating a fashion designer and a super model.

We head to the back stage to wish Mariko good luck.
Spotting her girlfriend, Yuko runs to her shouting “Nyan-Nyan!!” immediately straddling her giving her a kiss.

“Kya!” Nyan-Nyan screams trying to get Yuko off her “You’re messing up my clothes!!”
Yuko’s girlfriend is Kojima Haruna. She is one of Japan’s most sought after models. Her and Mariko are also best friends and are inseparable. She is beautiful. Sexy plump lips, tall, long black hair, nice full figure that fills her up in all the right places. I understand what makes Yuko the way she is around her.

“She’s wearing those to the runway squirrel!” Mari-chan giving Yuko a deadly look while pulling her off the model
Yuko gets on her feet and bows “Gomen Mari-chan”

I laugh inside seeing the look on her face. Yuko always respected Mariko but is extremely scared of her wrath when angry. She’s been on the receiving end of it when she ruined one of the dresses Mariko made Nyan-Nyan at the past show. We’ve asked her what happened but refuses to talk about it and gets shivers every time the subject is brought up.

Knowing how Mariko is during these times, Mii-chan quickly interjects. “We’re just here to wish you good luck”

“Thank you.” Mariko says giving Mii-chan a quick kiss and immediately tries rushing us out of the back stage

Getting the hint, I quickly give her an encouraging hug and say “Good Luck Mariko. Everything looks great as always”

I grab Yuko and Mii-chan from their girlfriends and drag them out with me towards the seats

While being dragged, Yuko gives Nyan-Nyan flying kisses wishing her good luck. Mii-chan on the other hand was a lot more cooperative, only looking back saying “Break a leg Mariko”


The three of us have amazing seats for the show. Perks of being friends with the organizer.

The show begins with impressing clothes. I wouldn’t expect less from Mariko. This is her life. And she is excellent at it.

One by one each of the model proudly walks out to the runway wearing Ricori. Then it was Nyan-Nyan’s turn. We looks great. Haruna just oozes sex appeal and as usual, my perverted friend could hardly contain herself. I have to hold her down just so she
can stay put and not jump on the model while working.

Then it was the next model’s turn to face the run way.. I knew right away who she was the instant she stepped out. It was like time just stopped. All I could hear was the crowd going nuts and the sound of cameras flashing.

 First thing came to mind is how beautiful she looks right now up on that stage. Wearing her bright smile lighting up the whole place.

Finally our eyes meet…it felt like her smile…her smile was just for me. Like it was just the two of us in a room full of people. Then I instantly snap out of my trance.

“EH!?!?!?!?!?! NANI!?!?!? ATSUKO?????”

I find it weird that Atsuko knows that Minami will be at the event, and what really surprises me is Atsuko models for Mariko too!

Chapter 5


With the show being a success, Mariko, Mii-chan, Haruna, Yuko, Atsuko and I decide to go to a restaurant nearby to grab food and
to celebrate.

Once seated and ordered our food, everyone’s settled down and continued conversing about the fashion show.

Looking around, the others are all enjoying their drinks and I am so confused as to why Atsuko was part of the show. And she is
talking to the others like she’s known them before. A bit frustrated for feeling like I am missing out on something, I interrupt
everyone’s conversation. 

“Alright, alright. Hold on everyone!” I say looking at each and every one of them

They stop talking and turn to look at me with a mischievous smile on their faces

“Oh it’s coming” Mii-chan says to Mariko

Knowing that they have an idea of what I’m talking about I say “Explain. All of you explain.” Looking at everyone then at Atsuko
who is sitting right beside me

“Hmm. How should we start this..” Yuko says rubbing her chin with a grin on her face

Then in unison, Yuko, Nyan-Nyan, Mii-chan and Atsuko point at Mariko “It’s her fault!”

“Traitors!” Mariko replies seeing the fingers pointed at her

“I’m waitingggggg” I say demandingly slightly pleading

“Okay, Okay” Mariko begins looking at me as the others lean in to listen for her explanation. Taking a sip of her drink “When Mii-
chan first told me about your meeting with Acchan, I already knew about it.”


Nodding, “Un. Just like how you tell Mii-chan everything, Acchan tells Mariko and I everything too” Nyan-Nyan says

“Acchan?” with a confused look on my face

“Acchan is my nickname from when we were younger” Atsuko says looking a bit nervous

“Not many people gets the privilege to call her Atsuko. You should be honored that you get to call her that despite just having met”
Mariko says with a giggle

“Acchan, Nyan-Nyan and I were childhood friends. We’ve been trying to introduce the two of your but the chance just never
presented itself.” Marichan continues

“When you first told me about meeting Acchan, I wasn’t sure who you were talking about at that moment. But when I talked to
Mariko about it, I finally remembered who Atsuko was.” Mii-chan says “We’ve met a couple of times in some of Mariko’s shows. You
weren’t there because you were still in your black out period after You-Know-Who”

 “And I knew about you and Atsuko not because Mii-chan told me, she actually didn’t tell me anything so she didn’t lie when you
asked her. My Nyan-Nyan told me. Any it also doesn’t hurt that Acchan is the top talent we have in Team K production” Yuko says
clinging to her girlfriend

“We all know Acchan” Nyan-Nyan says nonchalantly

Then once more the four of them point at Mariko and say “She told us not to tell you” in unison

“I just had to Takamina. I just can’t help but troll you around. I only do it because I love you. And I love seeing the surprised and
confused look on your face.” Mariko says unable to hold her laughter

“It’s because we all love you Takamina” Mii-chan says smiling at me with a hint of an apologetic look

“Yea Yea.” I reply shaking my head. Turning to Atsuko I asked “How come you were part of the show? What’s an actress doing as a
model?”

“Mariko asked me to model for her line. Till recently, I began endorsing Ricori. I love their clothes plus, how could I say no to Mari-
chan” Atsuko replies back as she devours her food

Watching her, I wonder how someone can eat so much food. Laughing to myself thinking how adorable she looks enjoying the
sustenance in front of her

“With Acchan being one of the biggest stars in Japan, it only makes sense for her to work with one of the biggest fashion lines here.

It was a no brainer in a business point of view” Yuko chimes in

“It also doesn’t hurt that the three of us are friends. It makes working a lot of fun. We get to see each other more instead of having
to catch each other on our free time” Nyan-Nyan says smiling at the other two

Mariko and Atsuko nod their heads in agreement

Mii-chan stands up with a cup in her hand “I just want to propose a toast to Mariko for all her hard work that resulted in a very
successful show. And to you Nyan-Nyan and Acchan who made Mariko’s wonderful clothes even more beautiful. Kanpai!!!”

“Kanpai!!!” we all raise our glass for Mariko

“Omedeto!!” We each congratulate our friend give her a hug

A little teary eyed Mari-chan says “Thank you guys!” then hugging Mii-chan she says “I wouldn’t have made it without your help”

“Anything for you, my Mariko” Mii-chan replies and gives the taller girl a kiss

“Bleh! Get a room guys!” Yuko says with a gagging noise

The rest of us laughs and then see a baguette fly across the table to hit Yuko square in the face

“EH! Nani?” Yuko says dumbfounded looking at us as if asking who threw the bread

I shake my head putting my hand in the air to let her know it wasn’t me.

“You shouldn’t be the one to talk perverted squirrel” Mii-chan says laughing

“How’s the baguette taste?” Mariko asks Yuko unable to contain her laughter

“Mouuuuuu! Mari-chan you’re such a bully!” Yuko pouts looking at Nyan-Nyan for help

“Nah-uh. Don’t look at me. You did this to yourself” Haruna says shaking her head at Yuko

Towards the end of the night, we decided to call it a day. We all still do have work the next day.

We bid goodbye to each other outside the restaurant. With a full round of hugs, we finally set off on different directions to head
home.

Atsuko and I decide to head home together since we live in the same building.

It was getting late so I have my driver pick us up

Once in the car, Atsuko and I sit beside each other and make our way home

“Minami” She says looking down at the floor

I turn to her and say “Yea?”

“You’re not mad are you?” she asks with a hint of worry in her voice

“Mad at what?” I ask

“You know, about listening to Mari-chan in not telling you that I knew your friends too” Atsuko continues

“Oh no, no. of course not. It was all good fun. Besides I am used to it. Everyone means well. And I do know that they would never
do anything to intentionally hurt me.” Reassuring her

Lifting her head up, she looks at me with a smile showing the famous wrinkle on her nose and says “I’m so relieved. I was worried
you’d be angry at me”

Shaking my head a little “I could never be angry at you Atsuko. Besides, I was pleasantly surprised to see you up there. You were
stunningly beautiful.”

Unable to hide her embarrassment at my remark, she says “Thank you. Minami. It means a lot coming from you.”

“You’re welcome. Just stating the obvious is all” I reply smiling to myself knowing I can get this kind of reaction from her

The car has stopped in from of our building. Getting out of the car we bid my driver goodnight thanking him for the ride.

Walking towards our building side by side, I felt Atsuko’s hand brush mine. And in that instant felt shivers down my spine.

To test the waters, link my pinky with hers. Knowing she didn’t pull away, I feel encouraged and I slowly manage to intertwine my
fingers with hers


We look at each other and smile. We silently rode the elevator up to our floor. It was a comfortable silence.

We then, once again find ourselves in front of her door. Where a very familiar scene plays in my head. Telling myself not to let it
happen again this time.

About to enter her door Atsuko begins to say “I had a lot of f—“ cutting her off mid-sentence as I quickly pull her towards me and
kiss her lips.

This time it is I who surprise her.

Feeling her kiss me back, I gently cup her cheek kissing her eagerly and tenderly taking my time not like one of those quick pecks
she’s given me

Breathing heavily, I pull away and rest my forehead on hers. Looking at each other’s eyes I smile at her and whisper “Goodnight
Atsuko” then make my way home

“G-goodnight Minami” I hear her stutter back as I head home

Smiling to myself thinking “Oh how the tables have turned”

Chapter 6

Atsuko and I have been seeing each other for a couple of months now. Time went by so quickly and I didn’t even realize it.


Every day, I now look forward to going home after work. It is no longer the typical store bought bento box for dinner. If I get home early, I cook dinner and Atsuko comes over. On days where I have to work late, I head to Atsuko’s place and already have hot food made waiting for me. If we finish dinner a bit early, we usually go out and take a stroll outside. I like seeing Atsuko interact with her fans, we get stopped by them quite often and she is always grateful for their support. She apologizes because she thinks we are being interrupted but I actually don’t mind. I like seeing her in her element. Sometimes if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we stay in and watch movies. As much as I like going out for walks with her, I also love just staying in snuggling on the couch. The hardest part of our days is when we have to say goodbye and head to our own place. 


Our busy schedules have not permitted us to actually spend a whole day together though. With her being such a famous actress, it is hard for her to have days off. If she’s not busy filming a movie or a show, she’s out doing photo shoot, interviews or commercials. All of which I understand completely. Atsuko loves her job and I will not hinder her from doing something she loves.


On my days off from the office, I travel around Tokyo and Japan doing site visits for me and Mii-chan’s company. This is the one downside to being a successful entrepreneur. The amount of work and effort that needs to be put in to make a business blossom is inhumane. And similar to Atsuko’s work, I also love mine. 


Sitting here in my office, I close my laptop and call it a day. I check my phone for the time and see that it is only 12pm.


Mii-chan is out of town on a business trip. She didn’t want to go but since only one of us was needed, and neither wanted to attend.


We played janken for it. You can guess who won since I’m still on Tokyo. =D

With the rest of the day ahead of me, I decide to surprise Atsuko.

Stopping by a flower shop, I pick up a bouquet of sunflowers for her.

She is currently, at Ueno Park filming a new drama. My driver drops me off at the park and heads to look for a parking spot to wait for us.

With the production crew all set up, she wasn’t very hard to miss. I stood there with the rest of the staff watching Atsuko shoot her scene.

Amazed at how her eyes change completely as she plays her character. I watched mesmerized at the scene before me. If I didn’t know any better, I would think she was someone else. But I know that it is my Atsuko up there. Just being extraordinary at what
she does.

This drama is called Ikiru Koto. It is about a girl named Miya (Maeda Atsuko) who has lost her way after her parents passed away. She then becomes friends with a strange girl named Sora (Matsui Rena). Sora who is suffering from a terminal disease helps Atsuko realize that there is more to life than the current path she is now on.

“Miya wait!” Sora screams after the girl running ahead of her

The other girl stops on her tracks giving Sora time to catch up. Finally near Miya, Sora places her hands on her knees trying to catch her breath

Panting Sora says “Please. Please Miya s.stop r.running away from everything” still trying to catch her breath

Her friend turns around with tears and anger in her eyes.

Sounding calm, Miya says “Run away?” her voice slightly getting louder “YOU THINK I’M RUNNING AWAY!?”

“IT IS HOW I’VE GOTTEN THROUGH EVERYTHING! WHEN MY PARENTS DIED, WHEN I LOST EVERYTHING. I DIDN’T RUN AWAY. I WAS SHUTTING OUT THE PAIN!” Miya screams at her friend

“Miya I –“ Sora begins

“NO!” Miya interrupts “How dare you!? How dare you come into my life and put me back together. How dare you show me that I can
live and be happy again?

Tears begin to flow from Sora’s eyes

“Then just to tell me you are dying!” Miya continues and the anger in her eyes fade suddenly filled with sadness and desperation

“You are going to leave me all alone just like my parents did” Miya falls to her knees sobbing “You gave me hope. And now you’re going to leave me” she says once more

Crying, Sora gets on her knees and pulls Miya into a hug. “I’m still here aren’t I? I haven’t gone anywhere. You still have me with
you. I haven’t left you alone. I’m not dead yet.” She says rubbing her sobbing friends back while holding her

Sora pulls away from the hug. With her hands still on Miya’s shoulders, she wipes tears from her friend’s face. “I will fight it.

Whatever this is. You and I will fight it together. I will show you that this life, not just mine but yours too are worth living”

“AND CUT!” the director says as I snap out of the trance I didn’t even know I was in while watching the scene.

I laugh a little as the see another girl a couple of feet away from me crying from what we just witnessed. Just I realize that I too had tears on my eyes. I do have a glass heart after all. I cry at everything.

“That is all for today everyone. Good Work!” the director says dismissing everybody

I quickly clean myself up and look for Atsuko. She’s already out of her broken character and is back to my happy smiling Atsuko.

I walk up behind her and quickly tickle her sides. Jumping from surprise, she turns around and sees me.

“MINAMI!” she says quickly pulling me into a hug “What are you doing here?

“I got out of work early today so I came to visit you. And these are for you” I reply handing her the sunflowers

Looking delighted, she takes the flowers and smells them “Arigatou, Minami. I love them.”

The girl playing Sora comes near us with the other girl that was crying while we watched the scene

“Those are beautiful flowers Maeda-san” she says looking at the bouquet in Atsuko’s hands

“Ah. Thank you Rena. They’re from Minami. Ah! Gomen. I haven’t introduced you two yet. Minami, meet Matsui Rena. She is an up and comer who also works for Yuko in Team K Productions. Rena, meet Takahashi Minami. She is my friend that’s a girl.” Atsuko
giggles at the way she introduced me

Laughing, Rena says “Nice to meet you Takahashi-san” bowing slightly then shaking my hand.” Pointing to her right “This is Matsui Jurina. No relation. She’s my girl that’s a friend” she continues

Shaking our hands “Nice to meet both of you. Please call me Jurina”

Atsuko and I says in unison “Nice to meet you too Jurina”

“I am a big fan Maeda-san. And there is no one in Tokyo who doesn’t know a thriving business woman like you Takahashi-san” Jurina says in admiration

“Thank you Jurina.” I say for both Atsuko and I

“I knew you looked familiar!” Atsuko says to Jurina. “You’re the center and leader of that popular idol group AKB48!”

“Hai! Yes I am. Maeda-san” Jurina replies with a smile

“Gomen. Jurina and I have to go now. We have a photo shoot to attend to in an hour so we have to get going.” Rena apologizes

“That’s okay. Nice to meet you Rena and you too Jurina” I say bidding farewell to the two

“Bye. Maeda-san and Takahashi-san.” Rena waves as they both leave

“They were nice” I say to Atsuko

“I know they are. That reminds me. I have to head out for another job. Sorry Minami but I have to go now. See you later?” She looks at me pouting

Her pouting face always gets me. Laughing a bit I say “How about I drop you off? My driver is waiting for my call. We can leave no and you won’t be late”

“Hai. Arigatou Minami” Atsuko gives me a peck as thanks

We get into the car and I ask “Where to Maeda-san?” laughing

Atsuko punches my arm “Tokyo Skytree please”

“Skytree it is! Please drive us to the Skytree Driver-san” I say pointing forward

Taking my hand and points it to the right, Atsuko says “The Skytree Minami, is on the right” laughing

“Pfft. I knew that. Just checking if you did” I reply back

“Sure you did” Atsuko says rolling her eyes

The car begins to move as we head to our destination

“Ne Atsuko” I say

“Yea?” she says looking at me frowning her eyebrows

“You were great out there. Like your scene with Rena was captivating. It was really touching” I say as I recall what I just witnessed

“I really hope it was. Plus it made you cry so I think mission accomplished” Atsuko says giggling

“What are you talking about? I wasn’t crying” countering defensively

“You so were. Rena and I saw you and Jurina crying. We starting giggling to each other after the director yelled cut” replies Atsuko

“Yea Yea Yea” I say caught red handed

Looking outside my window, Atsuko says “Nani? We already missed the Skytree! Driver-san you missed the Skytree!”

“Minami where are we going!?!? I am going to be late!!” she says shaking me

“Relax Atsuko. We’re going the right way. Just a couple more minutes.” I say calming her down

With a worried look in her eyes she calls her manager:

“Hello? Manager san? I’m going to be late for my next job. Please apologize to them for me. I’ll be there shortly.”

“What do you mean my schedule is clear for the rest of the day?” she says looking at her agenda

“You told Minami last night that the shoot was cancelled? She said I was in the shower and took a message?” Atsuko says as she
looks at me with a death stare

As we continues to look at me with a deadly look she hangs up the phone.

Unable to hold my contain myself any longer, I burst out laughing

“I. AM. GOING. TO. KILL. YOU. MINAMI” she says about to jump at me aiming to strangle my neck

‘Hold on Atsuko, Hold on.” I say about to start fearing for my life “Look outside” pointing out the window “We’re here”

Atsuko looks out and steps out of the car

“Surprise!” I say behind her

“We’re at DISNEYLAND!?!?” she says. The anger has faded away in an instant and has been replaced with amusement

“Yes we are! When Manager-san told me you were going to have some time off today, I thought I’d make it a surprise.” I say
looking smug

“Oh you surprised me alright.” She says pulling me closer

I winch expecting her to punch me but instead pulled me into a hug “Thank you Minami”

“Anything for you Atsuko.” I say smiling at her. “So where should we start?”

Atsuko and I spent the whole afternoon enjoying every ride in they have in Disneyland. And when I say every ride. I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE.

She was like a child in Christmas morning. Enjoying herself. So did I. Mainly because I got to see the carefree and childish Atsuko that makes me like her more and more

I swear she has an endless appetite. We ate so much junk food. Chips, Candies, Chocolate, Cotton Candies, Crepes all of it and I am stuffed

We are exhausted. Taking a seat at one of the available benches, we wait for the fireworks to start. The fireworks were always my favorite part of Disneyland.

Watching the show in the sky, while sitting down I put my arm around Atsuko. She looks at me at rest her head on my shoulder. We watch the show in amazement enjoying the comfortable silence that we share from time to time.

It was already late and I walk Atsuko to her door.

“Thank you so much for today Minami. It’s been awhile since I got to have so much fun” She says holding my hand

“You’re welcome Atsuko. Everything is a million times more fun with you” I reply back

And just like how our days end, we kiss each other goodnight.

Our kisses that I can’t get enough of. The sweet taste of her lips and the softness they feel against me is what completes my day.

“Goodnight Atsuko”

“Goodnight Minami. Hold the elevator for me in the morning will you.” She replies with a big smile on her face showing her nose
wrinkle

“Always Atsuko” I wave bye and walk toward my apartment

I open my door and head straight to the dark living room to leave my coat

Then I hear “ Hi. Minami”

Even with the dark room, instantly I knew who that voice belongs to. My pulse begins to race, turning on the light and I knew my
assumption was right. I felt my heart drop to the floor

“T.Tomochin. What are you doing here”

Chapter 7

*FLASHBACK*

Looking over Tokyo through my office window, I can’t help but admire this beautiful city. Seeing it usually calms my nerves whenever I’m about to do something important concerning work and everything else. This time though, it’s different. I can’t help but keep pacing back and forth

“You look like a mess” Mii-chan says observing me

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I retort back as I continue pacing

“What’s bugging you? Why do you look so restless?” she says looking at me with arched eyebrows

“I think I’m ready do to it Mii-chan” I say taking a seat beside her on the couch

“Do what?” she replies looking confused

“I love her Mii-chan. I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I can’t imagine myself being with someone else but her.” Taking a deep breath I continue “I am going to ask Tomochin to marry me”

“EH!?” she says practically shouting in surprise

“What? What?” I reply looking at her

“Are you sure you’re ready for it? Are you two ready for a commitment like that? It’s till death do you apart you know.” She continues

Laughing a little “Of course I know it’s till death do us apart.” Sighing, I continue “That is what a marriage is about. I know I am ready for it. Our company has just passed the difficult part of just starting up and have now established our names in the business industry of Japan. Being financial stable is a big plus. Tomochin has just broken into the entertainment industry and is on her way to being a pop idol. We are both in a good place right now”

“Oh, I know you’re ready to commit but what about Tomochin? Is she ready to take such a big step?” Mii-chan says looking a little worried

“I think she is. I mean I wouldn’t know till I asked her to marry me right? We’ve been living together for almost a year now. And we’ve been together for a couple more before that. I think it is time.” I say putting my friend at ease

“Wow. I guess there’s no changing your mind now. I am happy for you Takamina. If any of us were ready to take this next step into their lives it would be you first.” Mii-chan says with tears in her eyes pulling me into a hug

“Thanks Mii-chan. You really are my best friend. Thank you for always supporting my decisions regardless of how crazy you think it is. ” hugging my friend as I reply

“It’s because you are like a sister to me and I’d do anything for you too. Have you bought a ring yet?” she asks pulling away from our hug

“Nope not yet. Want to go look for one with me?” I say asking my best friend

“You should have told me Mariko was coming” I say to both of them as we get out of the car

Pinching my cheek Mariko replies “Aw come on Takamina. I can totally help you find a good ring. After all, I have a good taste in
fashion” Looking at me up and down “But yours on the other hand is questionable” she continues

Laughing Mii-chan says “You know I tell Mariko everything. How can I not tell her this news” defending Mariko

“I really am happy for you Takamina” Mariko says with a sincere smile

“Thank you Mari-chan. But she hasn’t said yes yet” I say laughing nervously

“I’m sure it’ll be fine. Who wouldn’t want a midget to spend the rest of their lives with” Mariko says trolling me as usual while Mii-chan giggles in the background

Sighing, “Alright let’s go find this ring” I say

A couple of hours later…

“Ugh Takamina. I’m tired. Choose a ring already!” Mii-chan complains walking behind me

“Me too Takamina. We saw a lot of beautiful rings and you were interested in none of them” Mari-chan adds

“I have a feeling we’ll find it soon. The perfect ring for Tomochin. My future wife” I smile back at them full of excitement

“The things we do for you Takamina” Mariko says rolling her eyes

“Let’s go there” Mii-chan says as we past an extravagant looking jewelry store. It says they specialize in making engagement rings and it seems quite popular in Japan and in American

“All the celebrities shop here Takamina. It’ll cost you an arm and a leg” Mariko says as we walk in the door

We are greeted by friendly associate. Taking our time, she shows us their engagement ring line that they have. The store has thousands of gorgeous rings.   

Then I found it. “That’s it! That’s the one!” I say pointing at the glass shelf

“Wow” Mariko and Mii-chan say in unison

“That’s is one fancy ring Takamina” Mariko says

“I think Tomochin will love it. It screams Tomochin. It suits her well. She likes flashy things. With an expensive taste. This is a no
brainer for her.” I reply

Smiling at the associate, I say “I’ll take this one”

I managed to get time off work the next day.

Thanks to Mari-chan, Mii-chan, Yuko and Nyan-Nyan, all everything has been set for my proposal. All I need now is to ask Tomochin.

In the afternoon, I pick Tomochin up from the recording studio. Waiting outside the building, I see her step out with a female colleague and I walk up to her.

Holding a bouquet of long stemmed red roses, I hold it up to cover my face and say “Itano-san. These are for you” trying to disguise my voice

“AH. Arigatou! They are beautiful” taking the roses from my hand not noticing me as she continues her conversation with the other girl and begins to walk away

“Ahem” I say trying to catch their attention

They stop on their tracks and look back at me

Looking surprised Tomochin looks at me and says “Minami! What are you doing here?” stepping away from the other girl to stand beside me

I might just be seeing things but I think I just saw the other girl frown

“I wanted to surprise you. Since you said you’d be off work early today I’m here to pick you up. Who’s your friend?” I reply putting an arm around her waist

“Erm. This is Kasai Tomomi. She’s an artist like me. Striving to be a singer too.” Tomochin says gesturing towards the other girl

“Nice to meet you Kasai-san. I’m Takahashi Minami. Tomochin’s girlfriend” I extend my hand out to greet her

Reluctantly, she shakes my hand “Pleasure to meet you Takahashi-san. I hate to be rude but I have to head for my next job or I’ll be late”

Giving an awkward smile, she waves bye to the both of us and heads to the other direction

I turn to Tomochin and see her watching Kasai-san walking away from us

“Shall we go?” I say to her

Snapping out of her thoughts she replies “Y-yea”

We get in the car and we begin to head for our destination

“Where are we going?” she asks looking at me confused

“It’s a surprise you’ll see” I reply back excitedly

“Aw come on. You know I hate surprises” Tomochin says crossing her arms

I take her hand and say “Just hold on a little longer please”

“Okay Okay” she replies impatiently

“So Kasai-san is a friend of yours too?” I ask

“Yea. A good friend actually. She’s new to Tokyo trying to pursue her dream just like me” Tomochin replies

“It’s good that you met a friend a work. I’m happy for you” I say smiling at her

Looking out the window “We’re here!” I reply unable to hold in the excitement

“eh? Nani? What are we doing in an open field?” Tomochin asks looking confused as we get out of the car

“Look there” I say pointing to our left

Her eyes widening “WE’RE GOING ON A HOT AIR BALLON!?!?!?!”

Laughing a bit I say “YUP!” I take her hand and lead her inside the balloon basket

“We’re ready to go up Mister” I say to the older man controlling the balloon

He doesn’t say much but nods to acknowledge me

Slowly, we go up in the air and I can feel Tomochin tense up because of the height. I hold her hand tightly and it relaxes her a bit.

We look out and take in the beautiful scenery before it. The sunset illuminates the field with and orange glow making everything calming and breathtaking

“It’s beautiful” Tomochin sighs admiring everything

Looking at her I say “I know.” Appreciating her silhouette against the orange sun

I take a glance down on the ground and see my ant sized friends getting in position

Tomochin and I lean on the basket enjoying the ride

“Tomochin” I call her name

“Yes Minami?” and we look at each other

“You are beautiful and I am the luckiest person in the world to have you in my life. I love you so much and I don’t see myself ever being with someone else. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So I want to ask you” I say pointing at ground.

We both see four signs flip up reading

“WILL YOU MARRY ME?”

Once I see her read the sign, I get down on one knee and repeat what the signs said

“Tomochin, Will you marry me?” I ask opening the ring box looking up at her

“I’m sorry” barely a whisper was all I could hear from here

She picks me up of the ground making me stand up

“I’m sorry Minami.” She says with tears in her eyes “I can’t marry you. It would be unfair to you if I said yes when I no longer love you as much as I used”

With those words I hear my heart shatter into a million pieces. I look away. I just can’t bring myself to look at her.

I turn to the guy controlling the balloon. I see him ignoring the scene as if saying he doesn’t want to be a part of it. Which I
understand completely. “Take us down please mister”

Crying, Tomochin continues to apologize “I’m so sorry Minami. Please say something”

I want to talk to her. I really do. I have so much questions that needs to be answered but no words would come out of my mouth.

I want to. I want to cry my eyes out. But I know myself. I never showed my weakness to anyone no matter how much I’m hurting

I can hear her pleading for me to say something. The sound is inaudible. I seemed to have tuned everything out.

We’re almost in the ground. I can see my friends waiting anxiously for us. To congratulate us with the biggest smiles on their faces.

And I feel sorry for them. For putting them through this just to be disappointed. “I’m sorry everyone” was all I could think.

Once on the ground I see my friends running towards us.

I open the door trying to escape. When opened, I ran. Stopping my friends dead on their tracks. I see them looking at Tomochin as if asking what happened.

I didn’t care what happened anymore.

I ran.

I ran as fast as I can.

Running from my world that is now falling apart.

Just then I realize my tears running down my face and had no way of making them stop.

So sorry for the late update :kneelbow:. I was having a hard time trying to figure out what to write, Plus I had work so I could really find time

Like I said before, I am writing this as I go.

Chapter 8


I open my door and head straight to the dark living room to leave my coat

Then I hear “Hi. Minami”

Even with the dark room, instantly I knew who that voice belongs to. My pulse begins to race, turning on the light and I knew my
assumption was right. I felt my heart drop to the floor

“T.Tomochin. What are you doing here” I say looking at her dumbstruck

She walks up to me and gives me a hug. “I missed you”

Still unable to comprehend the situation I stay rooted on my spot.

“What are you doing here?” I ask once more as I watch her sit on my couch

“I just arrived from my tour in America. And I really wanted to see you. You never replied to any of my messages whenever I tried to contact you. It’s been too long Minami. I figured it’s about time.” She says

Unmoving, I say “How did you find out where I live?”   

“I’m a very persuasive person. Being one of Yuko’s talent, she’s the easiest to get information out off. Trust me. It wasn’t easy. She’s probably told the others by now. And I’m sure she’s tried to give you a heads up too” she says as if reminiscing how she got Yuko to talk

“How did you get in my apartment?” I continue to question her

Sighing, “We used to live together Minami. You used to hide the spare key under the fire extinguisher in the hallway. When I got here, I figured you’d do the same. I was delighted to see I was right.” She replies

Giving up I sit down on the opposite end of the couch. “Go home Tomochin” I say to her.

“It’s been too long Minami. I’ve stayed away from you, from our friends for too long. You can’t run away forever” she replies looking at me

“Tomochin go home..Please” I look at her pleading

“No! We still have a lot to talk about.” She replies

“We will talk.. Just.. not now. I’m tired and I am not ready. So please.. Go home” I say with a hint of desperation in my voice

“I am staying. This has gone on for too long. If you won’t talk then I will” she says getting off the couch to stand in front of me

I stay silent and continue to look at the ground

“It was perfect Minami. You did everything perfectly. The proposal was beautiful. The ring you picked was like a counterpart of me.” She continues

Biting my tongue I let her continue

“We were perfect for each other. Supported each other till we’ve reached our dreams. Dotted our I’s and crossed our T’s. Others
were jealous of us. Of what we had. We were living a dream. You were and still are the best thing that happened in my life. You showed me that my dreams weren’t out of reach. With you the impossible became possible.” She says as I hear her begin to lose composure.

Looking at the ground, I unknowingly see my tears drop to the floor. Each reminder of the past was like a knife stabbing my heart.

Unable to stay silent much longer, I say “Not perfect enough I guess”

“What happened with Tomomi was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. It was stupid and rash. I forgot about us.” she gets on her knees and takes my hand

I look at her. I can see the pain in her eyes. Tears are streaming down her face

“I forgot that I had the most amazing person in the world at home waiting for me. The person who loves me over everything else. The biggest regret I had this past couple of years was not the fact that I made a mistake. But the fact that I broke your heart
Minami.” Tomochin says sobbing

Shaking my head I say “I was bitter and angry Tomochin. Not at you but at myself for being too blind to see that I was losing you. I got too comfortable with our relationship. I was a fool. I’m not going to lie and say I was okay. I wasn’t. And I know I did a poor job at keeping myself together.”

“I. Am. So. Sorry” she says between sobs

Wiping the tears off her face, “It’s okay. I’ve forgiven you a long time ago. I just didn’t know how to handle myself around you. What happened with us made me a stronger person. I know now that I am capable of loving a person more than life itself. I concentrated on making myself good enough for you, to make you love me that I forgot to think about me. But now, I’ve learned to love myself first. To be satisfied with how I am. I can now stand on my own two feet. It was painful. All of it was. But I am a better person because of it. I didn’t get back up on my own. I have our friends to thank for that. So please don’t be sorry. I thank you for it. The hard part is over for the both us. I have been a coward. You’ve given me courage to face my problems. I think this is a new beginning for the both of us. We can be great friends” I finish saying as I pull her into a hug

Sobbing in my arms, she finally pulls away and looks at me “I love you Minami” she says as she leans in to kiss me. I look away and have her lips land with my cheek instead

Looking at me with a confusion in her eyes

“I love you too Tomochin. I always have and I always will. You are a big part of my life and I don’t want to lose you again. But I am in love with someone else.” I give her my usual dumb smile. I feel my heart beat faster. Realizing that I am in love with Atsuko. I need to see her. I need to tell her..

“O-Oh.” Tomochin says looking defeated. “I’m sorry. It’s time to me to leave.”

She quickly grabs her stuff and head for the door.

I follow her outside my door as she walks out.

She turns around and gives me a hug. She then looks at me with a smile, shocking me at how her mood changed so quickly.
“I am going to win you back Minami” she says with a determined look on her face as she walks to the elevator.

Just then.. I realize Atsuko standing a couple of doors away from my apartment. Looking glum, she watches Tomochin get on the elevator.

She then looks at me and says “Yuko called me and told me to check up on you to see if you were okay.” Then tilting her head as if pointing at the elevator that just left, “But looks like you’ve been taken care of”

She then turns around and walks away

“Nani!. Atsuko. Hold on Hold on. Let me explain” I chase after her

Problem kept coming whether she wants it or not.

How Minami is going to handle Atsuko's jealousy?

Must have been awkward working at Yuko's agency (more so in the beginning, less with time, and yet still awkward now)...
Though I'm not surprised that she stayed since it sounds like an insanely good agency...

Tomochin's been touring in America, huh? Has she been overseas since that time?

What happened with Tomo~mi? Did they grow distant because confusion caused by Tomochin's guilt over what happened and her touring overseas have anything to do with it?

Chapter 9

“Nani!. Atsuko. Hold on Hold on. Let me explain” I chase after her

Ignoring my calls, she continues to walk in a fast pace to her place.

“There’s nothing to explain Minami.” She replies getting into her apartment

Just as she was about to close the door, I put my foot in front of the door “itai!” I say to myself since I ran barefooted after her

“Please Atsuko. Let me in” pleading as I hold the open

“Fine” she finally gives up trying to close the door and lets me into her place

“Thank you” I say catching my breath

Once walking into her place I see her head straight for her bedroom closes the door

“EH!” I run to her bedroom door and turn the knob to follow her in but then I hear a “click”

Knocking on her door “Atsuko! I can explain everything!”

“I said I’d let you in. I didn’t say I’d sit around and listen to your excuses” I hear her say from inside

Getting a little frustrated I snap back “What excuses!? When had I ever had to makes excuses Atsuko.”

It was silence on the other side

Sighing, I lean my back on her door and sit on the floor. Hoping she’s still listening to me I start talking

“Tomochin was my past. You know that. I’m sure you’ve already heard from Mariko and Nyan Nyan about what happened. I’m sorry we never really got a chance to talk about it yet. But now is just as good as any I think” chuckling to myself a bit

“Everything was perfect with us. Well at least I thought it was. My business with Mii-chan was thriving and Tomochin was on her way to become the pop star she’s always wanted to be. I did everything and anything to make her happy. Supported every decision she made. Of course, I loved her. She was my first love. I thought that we would be spending the rest of our lives together. So I decided it was time for us to take that next step. I planned this elaborate proposal. And what a fool I was when she said no. I was blind for not seeing she was unhappy with me. Well, it’s not that she wasn’t happy..it was more like she isn’t love me as much as I loved her. I was suffocating in that balloon Atsuko. It took every fiber of my being not to jump. I was breaking inside. It felt as though, my whole world was breaking apart. Then I realized, that she has been seeing someone else from work behind my back. And I was hurting even more. Once the balloon landed, I was too ashamed to face our friends. Too worried about seeing the disappointment look on their faces. The coward that I was ran away. I ran away from everything. I wanted to just leave everything behind. To run away from the pain I was feeling, from everything I’ve worked for, Tomochin and even my friends” I stop to take a breath slightly surprised at myself for being able to talk about it and no longer be in aching

Still no response from Atsuko so I continue

“I was broken. It was a very dark time for me. I became a shut in. I thought to myself, if I wasn’t good enough for Tomochin, I was never going to be good enough for anyone. I didn’t care about anything anymore. Tomochin moved out of our place and moved to America for her career which happened to be good for her. She came back often for holidays. I didn’t make an effort to meet her half way. She always tried to reach out to me but I ignored her. She still got to see the others though. Even after what happened with us, they are her friends too. They weren’t happy with her at first but never shut her out. They however became over protective of me when it comes to her. I love our friends. They gave me the space I needed at that time. They knew one day I’d wake up and stop being a fool. They had faith in me when I didn’t in myself. So once I was ready to pick myself up off the ground, they were there to help me put myself together. Gradually, I went back to my normal life. Learning to live without Tomochin. I was healing. Very slowly but I was. I see everything in a different light now. I have become a better person. A stronger one. And I have Tomochin to thank for that. I’ve learned a lot from it. I am the Minami you know now because of what I’ve gone through. And I hope you like me enough to take me as I am.”

Knowing that I am probably just mumbling to myself I keep going

“Then I met you. You took me by surprise Atsuko. I didn’t think I’d care for anyone this much so fast. You have the most amazing smile in the world. I swear you could take away any pain or fear or fatigue that I have with that smile of yours. I like how carefree you are and how you allow yourself to enjoy the little things around you. It is impressive how you love you job so much. Seeing you interact with your fans like they are your friends amazes me. You are wonderful at what you do. Everyone sees you as this super multi-talented Maeda Atsuko. But I see you as you. The Atsuko who will eat anything that is given her. I can’t even catch up to your appetite. The Atsuko who loves going on EVERY ride in Disneyland. The Atsuko who I think is beautiful even without all her make up. The Atsuko who would go with the plan her friends put together just to troll me. You are wonderful Atsuko.” I finish tired from my very long exhausting day.

“And. I..” Yawning “Love “ Still yawning “You Maeda Atsuko.”

I fall asleep outside her bedroom door wondering if she was listening to all my grumblings.

Chapter 10

I jolt awake realizing that I had fallen asleep on Atsuko’s floor. Flashbacks from the events of last night fills my mind.

Sitting up, I look around searching for her. I see that I had been covered with a blanket. She must have covered me with it while I slept. Looking into her open door, and see no sign of Atsuko in her room.

Quickly getting up, I run around her place calling her name.

“Atsuko?” I call out hoping to hear her voice

Looking into her living room and no luck.

No Atsuko in the kitchen either.

The bathroom, similar to the other rooms remain empty.

Taking my phone out of my pocket, I automatically send a text to Atsuko.

“Atsuko,

Where are you?

I hope you understand.

Talk to me please. “

I put away my phone and look at the empty room around me.

Here I stand alone at her place, without Atsuko. All by myself.

Half of the day have gone by and I finally manage to get myself to work. As always, my employees greet me with their usual smile. The professional that I am, smile back politely hiding my current state of mind.

Finally reaching my office door knowing that I’m about to reach my own space once again, the façade fades and I can no longer fool myself and hide the worry and fear that I feel.

Opening the door, I look up immediately see Mii-chan and Yuko waiting for me in my office sitting on the couch.

“Takamina! Gomen!” Yuko quickly stands up and follows me as I head to sit on my chair

I already know why they’re here. So I just look at them.

Automatically, Mii-chan and Yuko, take the seats across my desk.

Eyeing me, “Talk to us Takamina” Mii-chan finally talks

Forcing a smile, I look at my friends I say “Everything is okay guys. Really”

“Don’t lie to us Takamina” Mii-chan says sighing as she says so

“Gomen Takamina! Tomochin is very persuasive. I ended up telling her your address” Yuko continues looking apologetic

“It’s okay Yuko. Thank you actually. Seeing Tomochin turned out to be beneficial.” Giving my friend a reassuring smile

“Beneficial how?” Mii-chan still concerned about Tomochin. Which I completely understand. She usually worries the most about me

“Yes Mii-chan believe it or not it was. We talked about everything.” I begin telling my friends about last night’s events. And they sit there intently listening

“She apologized about everything. And I know I was at fault too for hiding for so long. I didn’t want to talk at first. But just like you said Yuko, she’s persistent.” Motioning to Yuko

“Continue” Mii-chan says sitting with her arms crossed

“I thanked her. I mentioned that I had been a coward because of not knowing what to say. I told her that of course everything was hard. But if it weren’t for what happened, I wouldn’t be the same person I am now. That I am a stronger and better Minami because of that I went through. She apologized profusely. I told her that I’ve forgiven her. And the she told me she still loves me. And that she made a huge mistake” I pause catching my breath waiting for a reaction from my friends

They look at each other, then at me waiting for me to continue

“Then I told her I love her. That I’ve always loved her and I never stopped caring for her. Nor did I ever hate her because of the past.” I stop to look at my friend’s shocked expressions. But before they could say anything, I cut them off and continue.

“I told her that she is an important person to me and nothing will ever change that. I will always cherish her as a friend. But I am now in love with someone else.”

“This is like a soap opera” Yuko says sitting on the edge of her seat

“How did she take it? When you told her that you love someone else?” Mii-chan says looking at me with curiosity in her eyes

“Well, she seemed to take it pretty hard at first. Then rushed out of my place. But just once we get to my door she hugs me and tells me that she’s going to try and win me back.” I wait for my friend to say something

“Well, it doesn’t sound that bad right??” Yuko says looking at both me and Mii-chan

“She’s not done Yuko, I know Takamina well enough to know that there’s more to it. I could tell by the look on her face once she
stepped into the office. Right?” Mii-chan says looking at me

“I love Atsuko” I say

“Once Tomochin left, I wanted to go and tell her. But just as when Tomochin was about to leave, Atsuko saw her hugging me and took it the wrong way. I tried to explain everything. I really did. Then she locks herself in her room and I had no choice but to sit outside her bedroom door and try to clear things up. I wasn’t sure if she was even listening but I talked about everything. I told to her I love her just as I was about to fall asleep.” I finish

”Did Acchan say anything?” Mii-chan asks

Sighing, “Sadly no. Not a word came from the other side of the door. I woke up this morning still in the same spot I was last night covered in a blanket that I’m sure she placed on me at some point. I’m not sure if she heard me tell her I love her. It was a pathetic way to say it but I wanted her to know. But she wasn’t there when I woke up. I messaged her and still no reply. I called her and no luck”

“Maybe she just needs time to process everything” Yuko gives me a reassuring smile

“I hope so” I reply back

Meanwhile…

“How did yesterday go Acchan?” Nyan Nyan asks her friend slightly fishing for info

Mariko pauses eating her salad as her and Nyan Nyan look at the other girl

“It was a great day at first. Minami surprised me at work and brought me flowers. She then took me to Disneyland afterwards.” Atsuko can’t help but smile thinking about how much fun she had with the other girl

“Takamina really is the romantic type isn’t she” Mariko says plainly stating the fact

Sighing “Yea she is. I wish Yuko would learn a couple of things from her. All she wants is skinship all the time” says Nyan Nyan

Atsuko suspiciously eyeing the other two, “Alright, Alirght. I know you already heard from your other halves about Tomochin being back. Stop fishing for information already. Just ask.”

Laughing, Mariko says “We’re just waiting for you to be ready to talk about it. It’ll come naturally”

“You know, Minami and I haven’t talked about her past with Tomochin. I mean I know what happened. You’ve told me and gave me your warnings about not hurting your beloved friend. I guess the subject never really came up when we’re together.” Atsuko says

“I can’t make excuses for Takamina on that one. You probably should talk to her.” Nyan Nyan says

“Last night when I got home from my date with Minami, I got a call a bit afterwards from Yuko asking me to check on Minami. I was worried of course I immediately made my way to her place. But as I was walking down the hall, her door opened and I saw
Tomochin leaving her place and hugging Minami.” Atsuko says pausing as she replays the last night in her mind

The other two watches Atsuko listening intently

“Right away questions filled my mind. Why is she there? What was she doing in Minami’s place? Are they back together? It was like the beautiful date we just had never happened. Once Tomochin was gone, Takamina saw me and tried to chase after me trying to explain. I was too jealous angry and confused to even listen so I headed straight home. Minami followed me to my place of course.

But the stubborn me locked myself up in my room.” Atsuko takes a deep breath before continuing

“Minami didn’t leave though, she stayed outside my bedroom door explaining everything. She didn’t even know if I was listening or not. She explained everything about her and Tomochin’s past. Apologized to me for not talking about it before. I could tell she was tired. It was a long day after all. Then I heard it from her. She told me she loves me. I was too shocked, happy and confused at the same time. I didn’t know how to respond. I had to collect my thoughts for a couple of minutes. But once I was ready to see her eye to eye, she was asleep on my floor outside my bedroom. She looked to peaceful while she slept. I didn’t have the heart to wake her.

So I just covered her with a blanket.” Atsuko finally finishes

“So, how did it go this morning? Did you get to talk to her?” Mariko asks curiously

“We didn’t talk. I had to leave early for a shoot and she was still asleep. So I left.” Astuko replies feeling ashamed

“Oh Boy.” Nyan Nyan says shaking her head slightly

“What? What?” Atsuko looks at the other too worriedly

“Just imagine how Takamina felt this morning Acchan. Waking up to an empty apartment. Your apartment too to be exact. Not knowing if we heard everything she said. Not knowing if you feel the same way. Must me a terrible morning she’s having” Mariko says

“Minami..” was all Atsuko could say feeling guilty

“Go fight for your girl. We all know how you feel about her. It’s about time you tell Takamina before Tomochin takes her away.” Nyan Nyan says

“Go fight for your girl” encourages the actress

“I will” Atsuko replies nodding her head looking determined

By the end of the day, Atsuko hasn’t replied back or answer any of my calls. Worked finished at the usual time today so I head home.

Upon exiting the elevator on my floor, I look up and stop on my tracks shocked.

I see both Atsuko and Tomochin waiting for me outside my apartment.

“EH!?” was all I could think of in my head

What would happen with them?

Would Minami be more straightforward toward Tomochin to ask her to back off?

Would Minami try to be a middle person in this case?

Would Atsuko confess her feeling for Minami since she already heard Minami's confession?

What kind of drama would the situation where three of them together in the same time and place?

Sorry for the super late update. I've been occupied with work and other stuff. So sorry to keep you waiting. I did hit a ton of writers block and some laziness but here is the updateeeee

As always I love your comments. They make me want to write more.

So please my silent readers, give me your input and comments too!



Chapter 11


Thinking about what Mariko brought up during lunch today, I can’t help but feel horrible about how I handled things with Minami last night.
She was perfect. I can’t stop replaying her voice in my head over and over again. I was a coward. I should have gone out of my room right away. All I could think about now is how she must have felt waking up alone in my place. Checking my phone, I see countless of missed called from Minami and a couple of text messages asking me to let her explain. Looking at my phone, I really do want to call her or message her back but I have no clue on what to say.

“Ugh. I’m terrible at this” I say to myself sighing as I plop on the couch in my changing room.

Startled almost dropping my phone, I hear a knock on my dressing room door. I open it and surprised to see Matsui Rena my co-star.

“Rena!, hi!” I greet her letting her in

“Meada-san, since we both have free time, I figured I’d come and share some melon pan with you” she says handing me one

“Thank you Rena. Have a seat” motioning on the couch

Sitting down she looks at me and says “Maeda-san, you look at bit stressed. Everything alright?”

Smiling, “You can call me Acchan you know, I think you and I are good friends. Don’t you?

Nodding her head, “I do. Thank you A-Acchan. So what’s wrong? You seem a bit out of it today.”

I sit down beside Rena and make myself comfortable while she eats her favorite food as I tell her what’s going on with Minami and myself.

I finish briefing Rena about my love life and the recent happenings within it. Sitting on the couch next to her, I watch her finish the melon pan in her hand eagerly waiting for her two cents.

“Your life is like a dorama ne?” she says as she gulps down the last bit of her snack

“It’s never a dull moment that’s for sure” I reply stretching my arms in the air

“If I tell you my opinion but be sure to take it with a grain of salt okay? Since I don’t really know Takahashi-san very well. Only from the brief moment I saw her last time and the things you’ve told me.”  Rena says looking at me

I sit quietly eagerly waiting for her to begin.

“Takahashi-san has gone through a lot. I think it’s amazing that she’s manage to pull herself back together after such heartbreak. Because if Jurina were to do the same thing to me like what Itano-san did, I wouldn’t even know what to do. You know, to feel like having to start over again, it takes a toll on a person. As far as I can see Takahashi-san is thoughtful, generous, loving, smart, funny and has a good head on her shoulders with a good heart. She’s pretty much perfect. She’s always trying to make everyone around her happy. Did everything for Itano-san then, without even thinking about herself. And I know she would do anything for you. Go to hell and back for you. She doesn’t want to lose you Acchan. She’s already told you she loves you. And I’m sure she’s not the type to just throw such an important phrase around. I already know she won’t but don’t you think she’ll get tired of having to chase you all the time? Takahashi-san is a great catch and I’m sure Itano-san has realized that, thats why shes back. It seems to me like she’s always been chasing after the person she loves. But this time, I think it’s your turn to fight for her. Because Itano-san already has her goal in sight and she knows that Takahashi-san is worth fighting for. Do you?” Rena finishes and looks at me

I walk towards my place sorting out my thoughts as I take a step closer to my home. I am relieved to see Atsuko I haven’t seen her since last night when she locked herself up in her room. What is Tomochin doing here? What are they both doing here?

Upon reaching them both, “T-Tadaima” I say greeting them

“Okaeri Minami” Atsuko says showing me her bright smile

“Okaeri Takamina” Tomochin steps forward and pulls me into a hug

As she does so, I look at Atsuko silently saying “She’s doing it not me”

She gives me a reassuring smile as if to say she understands

Atsuko grabs my hand and leads me to the door as if Tomochin wasn’t even there. “I brought you your favorite Minami. Katsudon. I figured you haven’t eaten yet.”

I let all three of us in.

“Ahem.” Tomochin says holding up at bag. “I brought you Katsudon too Takamina. I never forgot what your favorite food is”

“Thank you.” I look at them both bowing slightly

Laughing nervously I say “I’ll be right back. I’m just going to change out of my work clothes.” And run straight to my room making sure to lock the door

I take my phone out of my pocket and speed dial my best friend.

Placing my phone against my ear listening to it ring “Come on Mii-chan. Come on. Pick-up”

After a couple of rings a familiar voice answers. “Takamina!!! HELLO!”

“EH! Marichan. Hello. Can I speak to Mii-chan please” I reply I haste

“Ah. Sorry Takamina. But Mii-chan is uh a bit tied down right now” Mariko says with a hint of a giggle as I hear a faint “Takaminaaaaaa” in the background then the sound of scuffle on the other line

“Takamina!” I finally hear Mii-chan who is slightly out of breath on the phone

“Mii-chan, Mii-chan. What do I do? What do I do?” I say in a panic

“Slow down. What’s wrong?” Mii-chan says trying to calm me down

“AtsukoandTomochinarehere!” I fumble with my words trying to keep it low so that my guests can’t hear me

“What!? I can’t understand you if you’re mumbling. Slow down” she says with confusion

Taking a deep breath “Atsuko and Tomochin are here. At my place!”

“EH!?!? What are they doing there?” Mii-chan says sounding surprised

“I have no idea they brought me dinner. Katsudon! Each of them! What do I do!?!?!? HELP ME!” still panicking stumbling on my words

"Eat all of it"Marichan interrupts

“They clearly both have feelings for you Takamina” Mii-chan adds in her two cents

Raising an eyebrow as if they can see me “You guys, Am I on speaker again???”

“Why are you so surprised? You should be used to it by now. We do it every time. We count as one you know.” Mii-chan says defensively

“But we can’t help you Takamina. We have our own agenda tonight. Just have fun!!!” says a laughing Mari-chan as she hangs up

Sighing heavily, I look at my phone. “Those two” I say shaking my head

I quickly dial another number

“Mosh Mosh?” I hear my friend’s voice on the other line

“Yuko! Help me Yuko” I blurt out

“Nani? Takamina? What’s wrong??” she replies partly distracted

I hear a familiar shriek in the background “Kyaa! Yuko! Hentai!”

I hear another scuffle on the other end of the line, sighing I hang up.

There's no stopping Yuko when she's got "skinship" in mind.

Meanwhile...

Atsuko and Tomochin both head the the kitchen to set the table up while Minami heads to her room.

The deadly silence is broken as Tomochin speaks up.

"Acchan. You can go home. I'll take care of Minami's dinner"

The offended Atsuko shoots a glare at the other girl. "You know what, I think I'll stay. We are neighbors after all." She replies as she bites her tongue

Tomochin let's out a scoff. "Just give up Maeda. Takamina loved me. You're just a phase. I was her first love"

"LOVED. Is the word. And you did a damn fine job reciprocating her feelings for you." Atsuko replies holding her ground.

"Tsk. I'm here now aren't I? I'm not going anywhere" Tomochin bares her fangs defending herself determined to put the pass behind her

"Well, you've got a fight ahead of you. I am not going to lose Minami" Atsuko replies with fire in her eyes.

Confused and panicked, I hesitantly leave my room and head to the kitchen. I quietly enter the dining room and see the girls sitting by the dining table waiting for me.

The atmosphere seems a little bit different from when I first got home. I can’t think too much about it though as my eyes find two plates of Katsudon waiting for me to
consume them. 

Rubbing the back of my head I take a seat and say “Sorry to keep you waiting”

“It’s okay Takamina, here have dinner” Tomochin says pushing her plate of food in front of me.

“Hai. Thank you Tomochin” I grab her plate and Atsuko’s plate towards me.

“Itadakimasu” I put my hands together and begin to alternately eating a spoonful off each plate.

Atsuko gently places a hand on my free arm to get my attention and says “Thanks for not forgetting about my Katsudon Minami” as she flashes me her smile. I swear that smile always knocks the wind out of me.

All I could do as a reply was give her an awkward smile with my mouth full, nodding a bit in acknowledgement.

 “Oh look, there a piece on rice on your cheek Takamina” Tomochin says picking the grain of rice off my face and places it in the mouth eating it. Showing me her mischievous smile in the process

As she does so, I gulp down all the food in my mouth causing me to choke on the food.

Coughing, I see a glass water appear in front of me. I take it and gulp it down. Looking up to my left, I see it was Atsuko who got me water.

“Thank you Atsuko” I say catching my breath thanking her gratefully

“Just slow down okay?” she says rubbing my back before seating back down on her chair

For quite some time, we sat around the dining table. Mainly consisted of the two watching me as I eat. Also talking about recent entertainment news. Secretly watching them as I eat, I’m glad to see them get along so well.

Finally finishing all the food, I push the plates away from me. Leaning back on the chair, I rub my stomach unable to move much.

“Thank you for the food you two” I smile at them in appreciation

“You’re welcome Minami” Atsuko says getting up to clean the table.

“Anything for you Takamina” Tomochin quickly gets off her chair and proceed to clean up too.

“Eh! No, no, I’ll clean up” I say trying to take the plates from them.

Ignored by the two, they continue to clean and I head to the living room.

I sit on the couch, turning on the tv and I begin to flip through the channels waiting for them to finish.

A couple of minutes after that, I hear plates shatter and I jump off the couch running into the kitchen.

Once in the kitchen and out of Minami’s vision, Tomochin speaks up and says “Looks like you’re not going to make this easy Maeda”

“I already told you, I am not going to lose Minami” Atsuko retorts back

“We’ll see about that” the pop star says taking a knife and giving herself a small cut on her finger causing a small amount of blood to come out

“OH MY GOD! Are you insane!?!?” Atsuko says in a harsh whisper looking at the other girl in disbelief

Tomochin then takes a plate from the sink and shatters it on the floor.
Crouching down on the floor, the singer begins to pick up pieces of the plate.

Upon entering the kitchen, Minami sees Tomochin on the floor picking up the mess and Atsuko with what she thinks a concerned look on her face.


"Are you two okay? What happened?" Bending down to help Tomochin clean up.
Looking at the shorter girl, Tomochin replies " I'm sorry Takamina. I'm so clumsy. I dropped the plate that Acchan was handing to me. I'm so sorry."


"Its okay. Accidents happen all the time." Takamina reassures her. Looking up at the actress, she asks with concern "Atsuko, are you alright?"

Snapping out of her daze, Acchan could only reply with a nod.

While in the process of picking up the shattered pieces, Takamina grabs Tomochin's wrist and says "You're bleeding" as she examines the wound.

Takamina finally lets go and gets up from the floor. "I'll go get the first aid kit" she says with concern in her voice.

With Minami out is sight another time, Tomochin looks at Atsuko with a grin slightly exposing her fang.

Unable to reply, Atsuko shakes her head and finishes cleaning up the kitchen.

With the first aid kit in hand, the three of them head to the living room.

Takamina begins tending to Tomochin's wound.

With all her undivided attention, Tomochin can't help but look smug at the situation.

Atsuko on the other hand is flooded with jealousy as she watches the other two interact. With her jealousy aside, she can't help but admire how caring and gentle Minami is.

With a satisfied look on her face, Takamina says "There you go! All bandaged up"

"Thank you Takamina!" Tomochin says pulling the smaller girl into a hug.

The quick change of emotion on Minamis face made Atsuko giggle to herself. First, from her satisfied look for helping Tomochin to the look of panic she gave Atsuko when pulled into a hug.

Atsuko knows that she would have lost it due to jealousy if it weren't for all of Takamina's reassuring looks all night.

After everything has settled down, the three proceeded to watch some romantic comedy movie that's on TV. Grateful of the movie, Takamina doesn't really have to
worry much about having to entertain the other two. They seen quite occupied with the movie.

About halfway through the film, the trio are startled to hear a phone ring. To see who it is, they all check their phone.
A huge sigh escapes Tomochin as she gets up from the couch. "Sorry. I have to get this." She then heads to the balcony as she answers her phone.

Seeing Tomochin out on the balcony occupied with her phone conversation, Takamina turns to Atsuko.

"Atsuko. We n--" Takamina was quickly stopped by the actress

"It's okay Minami. You and I are okay" Acchan says flashing Minami her smile.

Tomochin enters the apartment looking frustrated.

"I have to go. The guest for a morning show tomorrow canceled and I was asked to make an appearance." Tomochin says sounding frustrated

" Ah okay." Takamina says getting off the couch to walk Tomochin to the door.

"That's a shame" Atsuko replies staying on the couch

"Oh I bet you think it is." Tomochin rolls her eyes knowing Takamina has her back towards her.

Tomochin then walks ahead and grabs Takamina's hand to make their way to the door.

"I had fun tonight Takamina. Thank you so taking care of me" she says holding up her bandaged finger

"You're welcome Tomochin." Takamina says holding the door open as the singer steps out of the apartment.

Pulling Takamina into another hug, Tomochin places a kiss in Takamina’s cheek.  “Goodnight Takamina”

“G-Goodnight Tomochin”

After closing the door, Takamina lets out a sigh of relief. She’s finally alone with Atsuko.

This chapter was downright hilarious with the emergency phone calls and the whole "perfect angel" act AtsuTomo were putting up in front of Takamina (not to mention the "little devil" act behind the scenes... go Tomochin, that was seriously smart... incredibly happy that they're playing fair and not trying to bash on the other...).

Also liked that Atsuko got two opinions on her problem (two since Mariko and Haruna are both old friends she shares with Minami and Rena is a relatively new friend of Atsuko's); sometimes you need more perspectives to truly make a good decision.

So many questions that need to be asked!

How did Tomochin come to realize she still wants Takamina?

What happened to Tomo~mi?

Will Takamina be okay after eating so much katsudon?

Where will Tomochin show up next?

What will Acchan do to counterattack?

What exactly did Mariko mean by "tied up"?

Did Yuko get her skinship?

Will Atsuko take this chance to talk to Minami?

Will she tell her how she feels?!

a great scheme there, Tomochin injured herself to get Minami to take care of her...

But it seemed Minami just cared about Tomochin and no longer had any romantic feeling for her...

Since she kept re-ensuring Atsuko all night about her feeling when Tomochin was hugging her.

What's going to happen to minami and Atsuko after Tomochin left?

Would Minami and Atsuko be together?

Would Atsuko confess her feeling for Minami...?

Does Atsuko love Minami?

So sorry for the extremely late and short update. I figured I owed my readers an update. I've been so busy lately and haven't had time. But I will continue writing my FanFic regardless of how long it'll take. So Have No Fear lol.

It's really short but I  hope you'll enjoy it.

Chapter 12

With Tomochin finally out the door, I let out a huge sigh of relief. After locking the door behind me, I make my way to Atsuko in the living room eager to finally talk to

her about my impromptu confession last night and tonight's fiasco.

Upon reaching the living room however, I stop on my tracks as I see Atsuko peacefully sleeping on the couch. The disappointment of not getting to talk quickly faded

away with the satisfaction of how at ease and beautiful she looks.

Quietly, I grab a blanket from my room and gently drape it over the tired actress. I lean in slowly brushing a loose strand of hair covering her face. Tracing my fingers

across her soft cheek, I place a quick kiss on her forehead. I finally settle down on the floor leaning on the couch not leaving her side as I catch some shut eye for

work in the morning.

Feeling content, I close my eyes and I quickly drift away to sleep.

Waking up, I realize that I've fallen asleep in Minami's living room. I look around me and I see her sitting on the floor, fast asleep as she leans on the couch near my

head. Smiling to myself at the sound of her soft snores. Silently, I get off the couch and place the blanket over the sleeping Minami. Tippy toeing out of her apartment,

I close the door behind me.

Startled by my alarm, I jolt awake. I look to the side to look at Atsuko just to see and empty space. Disappointed, I hastily get up and prepare to leave for work.

While taking a shower, I can't help but think about what I could possibly be doing wrong?

I don't know what to do or think about Atsuko. Does she feel the same way? She came last night. She does right? But if she does.. Why did she leave again without

saying anything? Am I just being a fool? My feels for her are so strong that giving up haven’t even crossed my mind.

I let out an exasperated sigh as I step out of the shower.

“Great. Just great” I say to myself realizing I do not have a towel

Still soaking in my birthday suit, I open the bathroom door to head for my room.

Petrified at the sight before me, I see Atsuko holding a tray of coffees.

Rooted on the spot, unable to move Atsuko looks at me then quickly turns around.

“O-Ohayo Minami” stutters the actress

I let out a yelp as I put two and two together and run towards my bedroom. Slamming the door behind me, I scramble to dry myself and get changed.

Before forgetting my manners I shout my reply to the other side of the door “Ohayo Atsuko!”

Chapter 13 FLASHBACK Sitting on her seat, Tomochin can’t help but fidget waiting for the company president to speak.   “It’s quite a mess you made, Tomochin“says Yuko letting out a sympathetic sigh “I know” was all Tomochin could say looking at the floor with blood shot eyes Finally mustering up the courage, Tomochin looks at Yuko. “Are you going to fire me?“ Yuko scoffs at the question “Fire you? Why would I do such a thing?” “You know what I mean. Because of what happened.” Tomochin continues “From a business stand point, no one in their right mind would ever fire a star like you. You’re an asset to Team K productions I’d be an idiot to let you go. But first and foremost –“ Yuko looks up at her office door “You are our friend too” Mariko and Nyan Nyan say in unison as they enter Yuko’s office Tomochin turns around and looks at the other two with tears streaming down her face. Mariko and Nyan Nyan head towards the singer and engulf her into a comforting hug. Tomochin sobs into the arms of her friends letting out all her feelings. “T-han-k Y-o-u y-ou gu-ys” Tomochin says in between hiccups at her three friends “It’ll be okay.” Nyan Nyan says rubbing the crying girls’ back “Takamina will be fine. Just give her time” Yuko gives her friend a reassuring smile “I had to say no. I love her. I still do. But I’d be lying to myself if I said yes. Takamina deserves better than a one sided marriage. I can’t be with her if I no longer feel the same way. I never cheated on Takamina. Not physically anyways. But what I did is worse. I didn’t end it with Takamina sooner knowing full well I was leading her on. Takamina is an amazing person. She’s perfect. Everything about her is. I’m a horrible person. It's just.. I'm no longer in love with her.” Tomochin finishes hanging her head in shame. “As your friend, I’m not going to sugar coat things for you. Takamina is hurt. She feels like her life had just fallen apart. It will take a while for her to get back on her feet. She'll need all us. But you need to give her space. Space is what you both need right now. It hurts too much for both of you.” Mariko says as if stating a fact “It will take time for her to recover. I’m not sure for how long, but she will be fine.” Yuko adds “You also need time to move on. Just don't forget that we're here for you too. I know we'll all be helping Takamina back on her feet but that doesn't mean we'll neglect you. You're important to us too. ” Nyan Nyan squeezes Tomochin’s shoulder “I can help you with that.” Yuko says -------------------------------------------------------- " How's your North American tour going? " asks a friendly voice on the other end of the phone.   " It's going great. Everyone here is so llively. I didn't know that I already had fans here before I even got on stage. " replies the singer. " That's good. I always knew you were meant to do bigger things than just in Japan. You're a star. Like what Yuko said last time, she'd be a fool to remove you from Team K productions. You're fantastic at what you do." the other replies praising her friend. " How is everyone? " Tomochin asks " Knowing that you still keep in touch with all of us. By everyone you mean Takamina right? " The older girl answers the question. Albeit evading the truth " Well? How is she? " curiosity and worry in the singer's voice " She'll be fine. Takamina is tough " reassures Mariko Sounding guilty, " You say she'll be fine. But that means she's still not okay" sighs Tomochin " You shouldn't feel guilty. I know you feel like this is all your fault. It's not. It takes two to tango you know. Love really is blind. Takamina was too blind to see that you were no longer in love with her. Its better now than later. Its like ripping off a bandaid. She'll come to realize that it's for the best for both of you to be truly happy in the future." Says Mariko " I hope so " wishes Tomochin. Lounging around on the couch resting on her day off, catching up with Mariko on what's happening in Japan. *Knock Knock* " Oh. I have a visitor. I'll talk to you later Mari-Chan " Tomochin opens the door, shocked by the surprise. She sees Tomomi nervously standing outside her apartment. " H-hi Tomochin " says the girl with an unsure smile on her face.

Chapter 14
The blasting noise of her alarm clock jolts Takamina awake. Feeling the empty presence beside her, let's out a sigh. Looks like Atsuko had to leave early for work again.

Since the Tomochin and Katsudon incident, Takamina and Atsuko had finally managed to talk and clear any misunderstandings. Although Atsuko is reserved when it comes to talking about her feelings, Takamina understood.  Ever since then, they would spend time at each others places to watch a movie and have dinner together. Their busy work schedules had been a hindrance when trying to plan dates.  And every night, oblivious to the time they miraculously end up having unplanned sleepovers.

"Kya! I overslept again." Grabbing her things, she rushes to prepare to leave for work.

In haste, Takamina finally manages to leave for work.

Fumbling in her purse, Minami searches for her keys only to find a neatly folded piece of paper.

Full of curiosity,  she unfolds the paper to find a message. It seems to have been ripped off a book.

"I always think of you before I fall asleep. The words you say, the way you look. The things we laugh about, the things we share. And when I dream, I'll dream of you. Because its about you. It is and will always be about you."

Looking at the message, Takamina can feel the butterflies fluttering around in her stomach. Biting her lower lip as she smiles. Carefully, tucking the page into her purse Takamina begins her day with an extra bounce to her step.

"Takaminaaaaaaa" The ever so energetic Gachapin enters Takamina's office.

Still preoccupied with her thoughts and smiling to herself from the surprise she got this morning, Takamina fails to hear her partner

"Oi! Takamina!" Miichan says waving her hand infront of the smaller girls face.

Snapping back to reality "Eh? Nande?" Minami says looking at the other girl.

"You've got a stupid look on your face" Miichan says laughing as she plunges on the chair on the other side of the CEO's desk.

"You and Yuko say that to me alllll the time" says the defensive Minami

Shaking her head. "Its different today. What's got you so giddy?"

"He he. This." Takamina takes out the page and gently hands it to Miichan

Taking the paper Miichan hears "Oi. Be careful with it"

"Yea Yea" the other CEO says reading the paper

Smiling, Takamina waits till her friend finishes. "Well?"

Miichan releases gagging noises before bursting into laughter.

"Give it back" Takamina says taking the paper and puts it back safely in her purse with a frown

"Gomen. Gomen." Miichan says in between breaths

Finally composing herself. "I'm happy for your Takamina. Like really happy."

"Hai. Arigatou" Minami says to her friend.

"You know what's funny? Miichan asks

" What?" Takamina asks with an arched eyebrow

"Looks like you've found someone as cheesy as you" Miichan says as she sniffles a giggle.

"Shut up" Takamina throws a pen at her friend

"Mariko says Acchan will be out of town for a couple of days for a show. Aren't you sad?" Miichan inquires.

Sighing, "Of course I'll miss her. But it's for her work and as much as we love spending time together, we still need to live our own lives" says Takamina

"You've always been so mature. About work, life and everything" Miichan praises her friend.

Her face turning into a shade of red, Takamina shakes her head.

"Yadda! I'm late! I'm supposed to meet up with Mariko" Miichan gets up to leave.

"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow." Takamina says as she watches her friend leave the office closing the door behind her.

Just as was about to continue her work, the door opens again. Miichan peeks her head in and says "Before I forget, I was told to tell you to check the drawer. See you tomorrow. Quickly closing the door behind her before Takamina could say anything.

Minami opens her drawer only and to her amusement, she find another piece of gently folded paper similar to the one from this morning.

"My mind keeps wandering back to you and I don't know how to stop myself from constantly thinking about you and us and everything. I don't think I want to."

Placing her hand on her chest, Her heart sees to be trying to hammer itself out.

"Yabai" Minami whispers to herself.

The day flew by as Minami recalls all the work she did. Probably would have overwhelmed her if it weren't for the pages she received. Atsuko's resonated in her head as she read the messages word for word.

Checking her mail, Takamina comes across another folded piece of paper. This one however was slightly from the other two. It wasn't printed. Unlike the other two that were excerpts off a book, this one is special. It was handwritten.

"I have completely fallen for you. Everything you do, everything you say, everything you are. You are my first thought in the morning, you are my last thought before I fall asleep and you are almost all the thoughts in between.

Love,
Atsuko


PS. I miss you already. I can't wait till my shooting in Osaka is over"

"Yatta. I can finally go home and see Minami tomorrow" Atsuko says to herself stretching her arms as she walks to her hotel room.

Opening her room, she stops on her track as she sees a small figure laying on her bed.

"Hmm?" Atsuko let's out a confused sound as she walks over the sleeping girl

A huge smile comes across her face as she sees Minami sleeping peacefully.

Acchan whispers "Kawaii" crouching down near the latter

Brushing a loose strand of hair off her face, Atsuko leans in a kisses the smaller girl.

Atsuko pulls away watching Takamina stir awake.

"Atsuko!" Minami almost shouts seeing the actress as she open her eyes.

"Ohayo Minami" Acchan flashes the wrinkle on her nose.

"Yabai! I was supposed to surprise you!" Takamina sits up on the bed face palming.

Acchan sits on the bed near Takamina's leg. "I am surprised. Plus I like seeing you sleep. Kawaii!" She giggles pinching Minami's cheek.

"Ano..about these.." The smaller girl takes three neatly folded pieces of paper out of her pocket.

Atsuko immediately turns a couple of shades redder at the sight of them. "Hmm?? What about them?" She asks unable to the the embarrassment on her voice

Taking Atsuko's hand Minami looks at the actress and says " I love them. I will treasure them for ever. And I love you. I will love you forever."

Acchan bites her lower lip as she looks at Takamina both leaning in at kisses each other.

"I couldn't wait till tomorrow. I had to see you. So I came straight here after I got the third message" Takamina rubs the back of her neck

"Thank you" was all the actress could say

"There you go. Reserved as always." Laughs Minami

Punching the smaller girl, the actress says "I may not be the perfect girlfriend. I'll yell at you, get jealous and trust i do get jealous, be stubborn, I'll over think and get insecure. But know that I will love you better than anyone."

Chapter 15

Takamina had been busy with work the last couple of weeks. She misses the presence of her best friend. The company had been hectic due to its expansion and the two of them decided it'd be more productive to split the work. Takamina stays in Tokyo, while Miichan is out of town taking care of other matters.  Sighing, Takamina looks the clock in her office. It's already 12pm and she hasn't eaten yet. Not to mention missing breakfast as a punishment for waking up late. But she wouldn’t trade watching late night movies with Atsuko for the world. With their striving careers, the only escape they have from the world is their late night movies and dinners in each other’s homes. Though the actress hasn’t verbally express her feelings for Minami, the small CEO hopes that with the amount of time they’ve been spending together is taking them into the right direction. Ignoring the hungry noises her stomach was making, she continues her work. Only putting her pen down as she hears the office phone ring.

"You know I'm busy Yui-han" she answers the phone frowning at her assistant even though she knows the younger girl can't see.

 "Gomen Takamina-san. But the guards in the lobby said that there's someone looking for you" says the apologetic assistant

"Tell whoever it is to leave a message. I have my hands full” replies the boss sounding a bit irritated.

"erm.. That's the thing. We did. But she insists for you to see her at the lobby. Says it's extremely important" Yuihan informs her boss

"Ugh. Fine. I'll head down "Takamina says hanging up

Minami leaves her office muttering to herself about people just texting her or calling her personal phone if it’s important.
Passing Yui-han’s desk stationed outside her office, she sees the younger girl with an apologetic look on her face.

“Gomen, Takamina-san” says Yui bowing to her boss.

Waving it off, Takamina smiles at her employee “Don’t worry about it Yui. It’s not your fault. In the meantime, you should go grab lunch for yourself. It’s on me. Use the company card.”

“H-hai. Arigatou Takamina-san. I’ll get your favorite for your lunch too.” Yui sounding grateful.

“I’m not hungry. Just treat yourself.” Takamina replies as she closes the elevator door. Reaching the lobby, Takamina feels a familiar arm wrap around hers once setting a step outside the elevator. Looking to her left, "Atsuko?" The smaller girl looks at the actress in confusion.

“Hello. Mi.Na.Mi” the actress greets Takamina teasingly

Blushing at Acchan’s playfulness, “H-hello Atsuko. What are you doing here?” she asks still confused.

“I have some free time so I thought I’d come surprise you. Plus, knowing how busy you are lately and seeing how hungry you are when we have dinner I can only assume that you’ve been missing meals. So I’m here to make sure you get to eat lunch today.” She replies shooting Takamina a knowing look

“He~” Was all Minami could say as she uses her free arm to rub the back of her neck acknowledging her guilt.

Changing the subject Takamina asks “So where do you want to go eat”

“A friend told me there’s a nice restaurant in this area. I’d like to try it.” Acchan replies

Making their way to a nearby restaurant, Atsuko finally releases Minami’s arm as they walk while she animatedly talks about her work. Instantly missing the warmth of the actress, Takamina feels a slight disappointment in her heart.

Knowing that their walk will take another 10 minutes, she watches the actress with a smile listening to every word. Finally mustering up the courage, Minami uses her pinky to catch Atsuko’s. With her heart hammering out of her chest due to nervousness, she finally grabs Atsuko’s hand entwining fingers with her.

The actress suddenly stops talking and walking at the act. Lifting their entwined hands to look at it then at Takamina who is now a deep shade of red. Slightly embarrassed, Acchan who is also showing some redness on her cheeks flashes Takamina her smile showing the ever so famous wrinkle on her nose and continues to walk.

“I’ve been doing all the talking. How’s work going?” Atsuko inquires hoping to ease Minami’s nervousness

“Busier than it’s ever been.” She replies in her professional mode

“That’s good though right? Busy always means good” Acchan asks relieved that Takamina is getting over her nervousness and is comfortable enough to talk about work with her

“It is actually. It’s just I get carried away with work sometimes. I bury myself in it and forget about taking care of myself. If you haven’t come today I probably would have skipped lunch again.” Confesses the CEO

“Ah. It is good thing I did then. So I am NOT sorry for disturbing you at work” Giggles the actress

“I’m glad you did” Takamina laughs

“What’s so funny???” Acchan tilts her head looking at Takamina

“I’m surprised you managed to convince the lobby guards to call up the office. Yui-han thought I was about to kill someone when I picked up the phone” Snorts Minami
Laughing, “I’m stubborn remember? Plus it doesn’t hurt that your guards are Maeda Atsuko fans” Atsuko continues

“Oh I bet they are. Who wouldn’t want to be your fan you’re amazing” Minami replies giving the actress a soft smile making her blush

“Who’s Yui-han?” asks Acchan

“She’s my secretary. Like a little sister more like. She’s worked for Mii-chan and I for a couple of years now. She works really hard and I always have the urge to look over her” Minami says talking about her junior

“You’re always thinking about others. So thoughtful. But..mouuu. Should I be jealous of Yui-han” Acchan pouts at Takamina.
Laughing, Minami lifts their entwined hand to her lips giving the back of Atsuko’s hand a peck. “No Atsuko. She’s like a SISTER remember”

Her pout disappearing, the actress looks into a restaurant. "We're here"

"Eh?" Minami laughs

Looking at the smaller girl "What's so funny?"

"I come here with Miichan and the others all the time" replies Takamina

"Really?? Mariko actually was the one who suggested this place to me" Atsuko informs the other girl

"Speak of the devil" Takamina points at the back corner of the restaurant near a glass window.

Acchan sees Yuko and Nyan Nyan waving excitedly at them while Mariko on the other hand is occupied on her phone.

The couple head to join their friends and sit with them.

"Ohhh Takamina has a girlfriendddddd" the squirrel greets them

A blush appears on both Atsuko and Minami's faces at the comment.

"S-shut it Yuko. What are you guys doing here anyways?" counters the shorter girl

"Well Ms. Work is my life, we your friends would actually like to see if you're alive once in awhile" Mariko says finally putting her phone down.

"Acchan mentioned she was going to bring you here for lunch so we figured why not invite ourselves" giggles Nyan Nyan

Atsuko looking at Minami, "I didn't know they were here. I swear"

"Miichan did say you'd drown yourself with work while she's away" Mariko interjects

"Sorry I haven't been around much lately. And I really do appreciate that you guys worry about me." Apologizes Takamina

"There there Takamidget. At least we know you're okay and taken care of" Yuko says glancing at Atsuko

"Plus we know how you get about work. Just don't forget to take a load off every once in awhile" reassures Nyan Nyan

"Yea. All this work makes all your forehead wrinkles more visible" chirps in Mariko earning a laugh from the others.

Frowning, Takamina covers her forehead with her hand and looks at Acchan "Do I have wrinkles Atsuko?"

Giggling, Acchan removes Takamina's hand and looks at her forehead as if to inspect it. "Just a small line" she says making the others laugh harder

The waiter then comes with their food which they've completely forgotten that they already ordered making them catch their breathes from laughing too hard.

Engrossed with their food, Mariko breaks the silence and asks "What's got your company so busy anyways Takamina"

Swallowing the food in her mouth Takamina replies "As you guys already all know, Miichan and I own quite a number of properties and hotels in Tokyo and a bit in
other parts of Japan. So we decided to expand our horizons and open a hotel in Hawaii that's why Miichan is there."

The word Hawaii seemed to have caught the attention of all her friends.

"Ahem. So Vacation in your new hotel then???" Blurts out Nyan Nyan with light on her eyes

"Mmm Bikinis" was all the squirrel could say imagining the scene with her eyes closed earning a punch from Haruna

"Itai!" Yuko yelps with tears in her eyes "I meant you in bikini. My Nyan Nyan in a bikini" says Yuko wiping a drool off her face.

"That sounds fun! It's been awhile since I've gone on a vacation" adds Acchan as she laughs at Yuko

"And Miichan haven't told me about this why!?!?" Probes Mariko

"This is exactly why" defends Takamina pointing at the other three. “It’s not ready yet. Not for a couple more months.”

“Aw” the other three say in unison pouting at the news

“Don’t worry. After it’s ready we’ll be the first to go there and try the place out. You’re also all welcome to stay there whenever you want and for as long as you want.

By the way. Enough about me. What have you all been up to?” Takamina asks her friends

“Nothing much really. I’ve just been busy promoting a new line of lingerie for Peach John.” Nyan Nyan replies

“In addition to my clothing line, I am in the process of opening a new store in Shibuya.” Marichan informs Takamina

“Mine is the same as always. Always acquiring promising new talents for our agency. Not to mention more work since Acchan is in high demand and Tomochin too now that she’s back to Japan from her tour.” Yuko states oblivious to the stares she’s receiving from the other three girls for mentioning a certain pop star

Although Atsuko has accepted the past between Tomochin and Minami, she shifts uncomfortably in the seat upon hearing the her name

No longer surprised by their reaction, Minami laughs “It is okay guys. Tomochin and I have put the past behind us. So you don’t need to tippy toe around me when it comes to her” grabbing Atsuko’s hand and squeezing it as if to reassure the actress.

“Oi! Takamina. I almost forgot. Miichan told me to remind you that you have some interview thing to go to tomorrow.” Mariko says looking at her phone

A light bulb turns on in Minami’s head. “YABAI! I completely forgot!”

“BAKAMINA!” Yuko points at Takamina laughing

Haruna hits Yuko on the head with the restaurant menu. “Be nice Yuuchan” she says shaking her head

“Eh?? You have an interview tomorrow?!? What for?” says the surprised Acchan

“Yea Takamina. Who would want to interview you?” the squirrel covers her head in fear of getting hit again by Nyan Nyan

“Tell us Takamina” Nyan Nyan looks at her curiously

“Might as well tell them” Mariko says crossing her arms with a smirk

“It’s nothing big really.” Takamina says with a small smile “Miichan and I won Japan’s Most Successful Entrepreneurs of the Year award by some business magazine”

“That’s amazing!” says the other three in unison

“Why haven’t you said anything?” Atsuko asks

With a clueless look on her face, Takamina replies “Well, it’s not much of a big deal really. Miichan and I just do what we love.”

“Being modest as always” Mariko chimes in

“And also, I completely forgot about it,” Takamina adds with a stupid smile on her face

“EH!?!?” the others say in unison

"Thank you for joining us tonight Takahashi-san despite your busy schedule" says Asuka as she greets Minami

"Its not bother at all. Its an honor for me to be invited to your show." Takamina replies bowing slightly

Facing the camera, Asuka says "Takahashi-san here was a frequent visitor to my restaurant but haven't seen much of her lately" with a slight frown.

"Shonichi does have great food." Minami smiles at the restauranteur/host. "But lately, I've been indulging in homemade food" smiling brighter knowing that she's been enjoying it with her Atsuko.

"I see. But do visit me soon. I-i mean my restaurant soon" the host winks at Takamina as she reaches to pat her hand.

Takamina pulls her hand away and rubs the back of her neck. "I will definitely visit soon. I'm sure my friends would like to try the delicious food your restaurant serves" she says with an awkward smile on her face.

Oblivious to Takamina awkwardness, Asuka continues "Let get to the real reason why we invited you here today"

"Ah yes." Takamina nods with relief.

"You and your business partner Minegishi Minami-san had recently been awarded the Top Female Entrepreneurs Award here in Japan. Congratulations!" The host claps for her guest.

"Arigatou!" Minami smiles proudly in gratitude

"We've asked for both you and Minegishi-san to come but she couldn't make it today. Is that right?"

"Yes. Miichan would like me to extend her apology for being unable to be here. She is currently away on a business trip. She really is sad. We all know how she loves to get screentime. "  Minami laughs at her last statement

"I guess its what makes you two so successful. The amount of work is divided among you." Observes Asuka

"Yes. You're right. But that's not the only reason so our success."

Tilting her head the restauranteur says "Please enlighten us"

"I think the biggest reason we've gotten this far is because we are friends. We trust each other. Believe it or not, we think so differently that we are constantly butting heads. We have our difference in opinions on how things should be done. But because of our friendship, we've come to compromise on things. And lucky for us, our compromises always end up being better than our individual ideas. We balance each other out. We keep each other in check. Like me who is a workaholic, Miichan always manages to keep me on my toes and balance life with work. Her on the other hand is the opposite. She loves to have fun. So its my job to keep her head in the game so to speak. We will have each others support no matter what. And are not afraid to wake the other up if they're being decisional. Most of all, we are the bestest of friends."

"Amazing" Asuka stares at Minami "I'm sure some of our viewers wishes they could have a friendship like that you two have."

"I am very lucky to have Miichan. She's my oldest friend we've been friends since we were very young. I'm grateful for her" replies Takamina talking fondly of her friend

"With your recent award and success, what is next for you and Minegishi-san?" Asks Asuka

"Well right now, we are in the process of expanding our business" hints Takamina

"That's interesting. What do you two have in mind" the curious host inquiries

"We're still working on it so it'll be a surprise" Takamina flashes a mischievous grin making Asuka blush

"Not even a hint?" Pokes the host

"Nope. My lips are sealed" Takamina says playfully

Giggling, "You're adorable Takahashi-san." Asuka says reaching out to pat Minami's shoulder and continues "We will all definitely be looking forward to what the Minamis venture into next"

"Hai. Arigatou" bows Takamina one more time.

Stepping out of her dressing room, Takamina stretches her arms up relieved that its all over.


Walking down the hall towards the elevator, Takamina's driver is waiting for his boss.
As she passes another dressing room, with the door slightly ajar she hears a familiar voice. Takamina stops in her tracks

"Senpai, What are you doing here?"  Says the girl

"I came to visit you" says a man's voice.

"Is there anything I can help you with" the girl asks

"I just wanted to give you my greeting" says the mans voice sounding malicious

"No! the off me!" Screams the girl as the sound of things falling on the ground fills the room.

Takamina burst into the room, seeing the man holding the small girl down on the table

This sight causes Minami to see red. Rushing to the guy, she pulls him off the struggling girl. And with an unimaginable strength, we punches the man on the face causing him to fall on the floor.

Grabbing the crying girls' hand, Takamina leads her out the door.

They quickly run down the stairs. Arriving in the lobby Takamina spots her ride and they get into the car.

Angry at what just happened, Takamina tells her driver to drive.

Trying to hold in her anger and to stop her from turning around to kill the man she takes a deep breath and looks at the singer with worried and gentle eyes.
Hugging the crying girl, Takamina says "I've got you Tomochin. You're safe now."

As the singer sobs in Minami's arms, all Takamina could do at this moment is to whisper comforting words.
Driver-san. "Take us to my place please"

Here's the update. Sorry it's short.

Chapter 16

Stepping out of the kitchen, Takamina hands Tomochin a cup of freshly made hot chocolate. "Here drink this. It'll help you feel better." she says with worried eyes

The blanket wrapped singer sitting on the couch takes a sip of the drink and instantly feels the warmth spread through her body comforting her.  "Arigatou"

Noticing that her friend had finally stopped crying, a small wave of relief flows through Takamina. Though a hint of anger still lingers at the fact that a man tried to take advantage of the singer. Takamina knows that she must stay calm and collected. She can't let her anger take over. She needs to take care of her friend first.

"Are you comfortable? Do you need more blankets?" Takamina asks but before Tomochin could reply Minami continues "Oh I know! You need more pillows. Hugging soft pillows always cheered you up"

Takamina returns from her room with what seemed like all the pillows she had in her apartment. Tomochin watches as Takamina lays of the pillows on the floor patting them one by one. A small smile forms at the corner of her lips at the sight of her former lover.

"Aha! This is the one!" Takamina triumphantly hands Tomochin the said pillow.

The popstar tilts her head in confusion. Noticing this, Takamina says "It's the softest one!"

"Arigatou" Tomochin says hugging the pillow as she buries her face in it. 

"Hai! Don't mention it." The smaller girl says getting off the floor to sit  on the opposite side of the couch.

"No, really. Thank you. For saving me. For taking care of me" Tomochin looks at Takamina

"Really, you don't need to thank me. You are my friend. I will always protect and care for my friends." Takamina replies 

"That man will no longer find work in the entertainment industry again. I'll make sure of it" Takamina says to herself in a whisper unheard by Tomochin

Hugging her pillow tighter, Tomochin repeats "Friends.." with a sigh

The pain in her voice sends a ping into Takamina's heart. "I'm sorry" says the CEO

"No no. Don't be" Tomochin shoots her head up regretting her reply. The feel of regret hitting her for making her savoir feel guilty.

"But you know.. You'll always be one of the most important people in my life" Takamina reassures the popstar.

Hugging the pillow tighter Tomochin says "I know.. And you will always be one of mine. The only regret I have is all the pain I've caused you."

Takamina shakes her head "The past is what makes us who we are. I do remember crying over you and I don't mean just a couple of tears and I'm blue. I'm talking about collapsing and screaming at the moon."

Sighing "What I was most afraid of was that you would hate me forever" Tomochin recalls

"Hate you?" Takamina scoffs "That thought never even crossed my mind. I admired you. You were always the stronger one out of the two of us. You were brave enough to let me go. You weren't a coward. You had the courage to help us both take a new step in our lives. I will always love you. I never stopped. But not the kind of love as before. I love you to the point that I can't see myself not having you in my life. You are a big part of me and who I've become. But now, now I'm in love with someone else. And I am happy."

"With you, I've learned what love is. With you I know what if feels like to be loved and love unconditionally. You really are an amazing person Takamina. Even the things you say. You don't notice it but your words are the world. Not just to me. But to all of us. Your friends. And I'm sure Acchan knows this very well. I don't see myself living a life that doesn't have you in it either. I'm sorry for all the troubles I've caused since I came back. I was just envious. I guess you could say I was jealous. Now someone else will be spoiled and loved by you.I want to be your friend Takamina. I can see that Acchan is that one person who can and will make you the happiest person in the world. She is lucky and any girl would be jealous. So she better make sure to hold on to such a great catch" Tomochin smiles at Minami with tears in her eyes

Blushing as her last couple of statements, Takamina rubs the back of her neck "Thank you Tomochin. It means the world to me for you to say that. But friends is not something we can do." Minami pauses

The popstar's chest tightens at the last statement.

Takamina flashes a big smile "We'll be the bestest of friends"

"Baka!" Tomochin throws the pillow at the smiling girl letting out a giggle

"You should take a rest. Its been a long day for you. You can use my room and sleep. I'll call Yuko and tell her where you are" Takamina tells the singer.

Yawning "Okay. Thank you." Tomochin says without putting up a fight. Taking the pillow and blanket she heads to the bedroom.

Before entering the room, she looks back at Takamina " Thank you again.. For everything. "

"That's what friends are for" Takamina looks at the girl showing her reassuring smile.

Deciding to step out of the balcony to get fresh air, Minami calls Yuko.

"Oi! Where is she?!" Yuko answers the phone

"I have her here. She's fine." Replies Takamina leaning on the balcony rubbing her temple

"I know she's fine. She's with you" the other girl replies

Sighing "I could have killed that man" Takamina says expressing her frustration at the incident

"Good thing you didn't. I'll take care of him and his so called career as my part" Yuko replies



"Just the thought of him trying to lay his filthy hands on her makes me want to rip his throat out." Takamina clenches her fist

"She's okay. You made it just in time before anything bad could happen. I understand how you feel. Any of us would feel and would have done the same too. " Yuko trying to calm her friend down.

"I guess you're right" Takamina calming down

"Really though, thanks for taking care of her. I'll send Tomochin's manager there to take her home" Yuko begins to make arrangements

"No, she's just went to sleep. Let her rest here till she's ready to do anything. I'll watch over her and take her home in the morning" Takamina interjects not wanting to disturb Tomochin now that she's finally asleep

"Alright." Yuko heeds to her friends decision. "You're so caring Takamina. No wonder Acchan and Tomochin are gaga over you"

"I'm just taking care of my friends. I wouldn't do different for anyone of you" Takamina rolls her eyes

"You don't see what we see. If I wasn't in love with Nyan Nyan I swear I'd jump your bones." laughs Yuko

"Shut up. Stupid. We'll I have to go now. Just in case Tomochin wakes up and needs anything. I'll update you if anything comes up" Minami brushes off Yuko's comment

After talking to Yuko, Takamina feels slightly relieved.

She looks at her phone to call Atsuko and update her with what's happening as she enters her apartment.

Startled at a noise, she looks up and sees the actress silently close her bedroom door with disappointment and hurt in her eyes.

"Ah! Ano! It's not what you thi--" Takamina blurts out flabbergasted as the latter leaves her place

Chasing after her girlfriend, Takamina finds an empty hallway.

Atsuko misunderstood the situation

It was just friend comfort only...

some more Tomochin already told Minami she wanted Minami to be happy with Atsuko

What would Minami do about Atsuko?

Would Atsuko be able to calm herself a bit to actually listen to Minami's explanation?

Or would Tomochin be the one that save Minami and Atsuko relationship?

Can't wait to find out

Chapter 17

Atsuko sits in her dressing room waiting to be called for her photoshoot. Letting out a big sigh as she recalls the previous night. Excited to see Takamina after a long day of work, that high quickly faded as she sees another woman in Takamina's bed. Not just any other woman, it was no other than Tomochin, Takamina's first love.

Just then, she is hears a knock on her door. "Coming." She says as she opens the door only to be surprised to see who it was.

Speechless, Atsuko just stood there looking at her girlfriend.

"I know you're at work, but I'm on borrowed time and I'd like to talk to you. I won't take long I promise" Takamina says to the other girl

Atsuko gave a small nod letting Takamina in, confused at the unreadable expression the shorter girl is wearing on her face.

Acchan sits down on the couch looking up at Takamina waiting for her to talk.

Takamina closes her eyes and let's out a sigh before looking at Atsuko.

"About last night. What Tomochin was doing in my apartment is not my story to tell. And I know exactly what it looked like for you. I understand what you are going through right now. Believe me. But you need to know that there is nothing going on with Tomochin and I. That is over. That was the past. You are my present Atsuko. I do not want anybody else but you."

"Bu-" Acchan tries to respond only to be cut off by Minami shaking her head.

"But us... Right now does not seem like something you are ready for. I have done nothing but to show you how much you mean to me. But time and time again when something goes wrong you'd run away. Of course I'd always chase after you Atsuko." Takamina pauses showing a crooked smile. "I think however, I think that it's best to give you space to figure out what you really want. Or that if you are ready for me..for us. I'll alwa--"

Another knock on the door interrupts Minami. "Come in" they both say

Takamina's driver peaks through the door. "I'm really sorry for this Takahashi- san. But we really need to go"

"I'll be right out. Thank you" Takamina nods at her driver.

He then closes the door.

"I have to go. But the ball is in your court now Atsuko. You know where to find me when you're ready"

Takamina rushes out the door in a rush before the actress could say anything.

Acchan simply stays seated on the couch dumbfounded and speechless.

Shocked and surprised faces surround Acchan after telling her friends about Takamina's visit hours before.

"Wow." Was all Mariko could say

"Takamina really did that?" Nyan Nyan says in disbelief.

"Mhmm" Atsuko looks at the other two.

"Have you talked to her since then?" Mariko inquires

"No." Acchan shakes her head. "I could barely get a word in. She was in a hurry. I've even tried calling her but it goes straight to voicemail."

"I didn't know Takamina had the "balls" to do something like that" the fashion designer adds

"But I think its a good thing Acchan. Takamina has grown so much that she was able to do something like this." Nyan-Nyan states admiringly

"What do you mean? She's left me!? How are you admiring what just happened" Atsuko tilts her head in confusion and slight anger

"No. You're taking it the wrong way. What Kojiharu means is that Takamina is doing this for you. Giving you space and have you figure out what you want. Its a really mature thing to do." Mariko explains

"And to be honest, I think she's right in giving you space." The model continues. "I'm your friend Acchan. So I will tell you as it is. How many times have you ran away? Haven't Takamina always ran after you? Is she lacking in the affectionate department? Cause we all definitely know she isn't. She's always proving herself to you. She told you she'll always come after you. But I'm sure she means she's waiting for you to finally let her catch you."

Mariko let's out a giggle. "Nyan-Nyan so observant. You're not as air headed as you let us all believe"

Slapping Mariko's arm "Mouu. Shut up"

"So what do I do?" Acchan looks at her friends with pleading eyes.

Mariko takes a sip of her drink. "I think you already know what to do. You just don't know how to do it."b

"Sort your feelings out. And when you are ready, we'll take you to Takamina" Nyan-Nyan says

"Eh?!" Atsuko looks at the other two. "You two knew where she was this whole time?"

"Of course we do" the two tall girls say in unison.

But Atsuko better quickly sort out her feeling...

Minami might not be there...

Sorry for the late update. Had my hands full lately.

Chapter 18

"Gomen Takamina" says a pouting Mii-chan

Looking up from her paperwork "eh? What for?" Takamina asks with an arched eyebrow

"For having you come all the way to Hawaii and help me finish up processing our new hotel" sighs Mii-chan sitting across Takamina's desk

"Don't be silly Mii-chan. It's our company for a reason. Plus I could use some down time away from home." Smiles the smaller girl

"Arigatouuuuuuuuu" says Mii-chan jumping out of her seat and heads to Takamina smothering her with a hug

"I can't breathe" Takamina mumbles with her face burried in Mii-chan's arms

"Hm? Did you say something?" Mii-chan finally releases her friend who now seem to be trying to catch her breath.

"I said I couldn't breathe" Takamina lets out a small laugh

"Ay. Gomen gomen." Mii-chan rubs the back of her head sticking out her  tongue.

"Hows everything at home?" Mii-chan takes her seat once again across Takamina

"Eh you know. The usual." Takamina looks at the paperwork in front of her.

"I know if I wait, you'll end up telling me anyways. But I'll make it easy for you Mari-chan tells me everything. Now spill" Mii-chan crosses her arms

Takamina lets out a sigh.

Mii-chan continues. "For the record, I think you did the right thing. And I'm not just saying it because we're best friends. I think that it's great you are being so mature about this."

Takamina finally looks at Mii-chan. "You think so?"

"I definitely do" Mii-chan replies with a nod.

"It was hard you know. To say all that and leave her hanging. But I think I'm not just doing it for her. I'm doing it for myself also. We all know I'd always chase after her. That's the type of person I am. But I want to know that it's not just a one sided love you know.. I want to know if she's willing to fight for me too." Takamina says with a frown

"She'd be crazy not to. Mariko and Nyan Nyan always said, that you make girls crazy for you and you're just too naive to notice. Their words not mine. And that Yuko and I could learn a thing or two from you. Again, their words not mine" Mii-chan says trying to cheer up her friend.

"And yet, I'm all alone" Takamina says releasing yet another sigh

"Shut up" Mii-chan throws a pen at Takamina

"Itai?" Takamina rubs her forehead "what was that for?"

"Youre not alone. You have all of us. Let's get out of here. Let's go fishing" Mii-chan gets up from her seat

"But we still have to prepare for the grand opening" Takamina says still rooted on her seat

"Don't worry about it. I have your assistant Yui-han coming to help take care of the minor details. Now let's go fishing!!!" Mii-chan grabs Takamina's arm.

"Fine. I could use some fresh air anyways" Takamina lets out a smile.

Stretching her arms out breathing in some fresh air. "Ahhhh. A much needed break" Mii-chan shows Takamina a toothy smile.

"We could have stayed in our boat and fished there. I don't see why we need to stay on a small island" Takamina says covering herself from the sun with her sweater.

"I hear there's a lot of fish around this island." Retorts Mii-chan

"It's an inhabited island there's nothing here except for a small cave. Its small and I can pretty much see from one end to another. If there was a lot of fish around here, why isn't there others fishing" Takamina whines

"Yea yea. Stop complaining. And why are you wearing a sweater. You're in Hawaii and it's I'm not sure if you've noticed it's summer" Mii-chan says shooting Takamina with stink eye

"I don't want to get tanned" Takamina snaps back

"Oh. I forgot our fishing gear. I'll go grab them from the boat." Mii-chan runs away before Takamina could say anything

"Always on the run." Takamina shakes her  head watching her friend get on the boat.

And just then, the vessel seems to get smaller.

"What the.." Takamina says to herself hoping her eyes aren't playing tricks on her.

Running to the shore. "Oi! Oi! Mii-chan!"

Mii-chan shows herself waving at Takamina with a mischievous smile. "I'll be back later Takamina! Have fun!!"

"Have fun!?!?! You're telling me to have fun!?!?? Get back here now!!!!" Takamina angrily shouts at the disappearing boat.

Takamina paces back and forth uttering angry words at her friend. "Ugh. I. Am. Going. To. Kill. Her."

Walking around the island, knowing the hopeless case she is in Takamina heads to the cave convinced that it is a waiting game and Mii-chan will be back after a while.

Takamina relaxs in the cave finally dozing off to kill time.

After a couple of hours Takamina snaps awake to a faint sound of someone shouting.

"Wait" was all she could hear from a distance

"Eh? Nani?" Now fully awake from her nap, Takamina steps out of the cave to see yet another boat distancing away from the island.

"Eh?" Her eyes still fixated on the boat, "EH!!!!! Chotto Matte!!!!!" The runs to shore seeing two familiar figures appear from the boat.

"E-eh!!!!!!! Mariko-sama??? Nyan-Nyan!?!?!" Takamina screams in surprise.

"You two have fun!!!!!" The two giggle as they float away.

"Two? It's just me." Takamina says to herself losing hope.

"Minami?" Says a familiar voice sending chills down Takamina's spine causing her to freeze on the spot.

Turning to her left, the winded Takamina manages to utter. "A-atsu-ko"

"Hi" smiles the actress causing Takamina to momentarily loose her breath.

"H-hey" Takamina says with confusion in her voice.

"Some friends we have eh" Atsuko says eyeing Takamina who is still processing the current events.

"Yea.. Some friends.." A slight hint of panic visible in Takamina's voice. "MARIKO SAMA! NYAN NYAN! Get back here NOW!!!" She screams after the boat at the distance

"I don't think they'll be coming back anytime soon" Atsuko says sitting on the sand

Takamina releases a frustrated sigh. " I am going to kill all three of them"

"Do you really not want to be alone with me that much.." The actress looks at the smaller girl

Takamina's facial features soften at the statement. Completely oblivious at what the other girl felt. "No no. I'm sorry. It's not that."

Atsuko averts eye contact from Takamina.

Minami takes a seat beside Atsuko. Trying to ease the currently awkward situation. "So what brings you here?"

"To see you. I didn't expect to be stranded in an island though. But Mariko and Nyan Nyan brought me here to Hawaii because they said its where you are." Explains the actress

"Oh." Takamina laughs at the island part.

The two girls watch the main island on the other side of the water silently.

"Minami" Atsuko breaks the silence.

"Hmm?" The midget tilts her head looking at Acchan

"I hate you" Atsuko says punching Takamina's shoulder catching her off guard.

A confused and surprised look occupies Takamina's face. "EH!?!"

Pouting, Acchan continues "I hate you so much for making me feel this way"

Speechless, Takamina just watches and listens as she draws blanks in her mind

"I had been a pain to you Minami. Making you do all the work in our relationship. I have always been horrible at expressing my emotions. But, I just didn't know how it felt like to be loved unconditionally by someone. Then you came along and showed me what it was like. I was overcome with this new and strong emotion that I had no idea how to handle myself, us. I was constantly afraid of losing you. I was afraid of how I would be like if you were to leave me. Because if you were, I knew I would never be whole again.  So I kept running every time something came up. I kept looking for an excuse to go. Each time I spent with you are memorable ones. Wether it be an amazing date you've planned or just us staying in doing nothing but lounging on the couch watching TV."

Acchan pauses now gazing at the waves in front of them letting out a sigh.

"I was reluctant to go in too deep with us. But I was naive to think I had the choice. I was too blind to see that I am and was already at the point of no return with you. So if you're still willing to have me.." Atsuko turns to Takamina and gazes into her eyes "I am ready for us. I always have been. I'm sorry for taking too long to realize it "

Takamina smiles at Atsuko, pursing her lips like she always does as if trying to prevent herself from crying. She pats Acchan's head leaning her forehead on the other girls'. "I would have waited forever Atsuko" Takamina says in a whisper loud enough just for the two of them to hear. As if not waiting to share this moment to the world.

Takamina pulls the actress into a hug and in that instant, the taller girl begins to cry in her arms. "It's okay Atsuko. I'm here." Minami continues to pat Acchan's back as she cries.

Finally calming down, they separate from their embrace. "It was so embarrassing" Atsuko says in-between small sobs.

Couldn't help herself, Takamina let's out a small laugh. "Well since we're already here. Let's enjoy this mini island we're in." Takamina stands up brushing the sand off her butt before handing her hand to Acchan helping her get up. "I still would like to go fishing"

"Eh? Fishing?" Acchan shows a confused look

"Yea. Fishing. I love fishing." Takamina replies and within a second realizes something. "Don't tell me you haven't gone fishing before"

"Never.." Pouts the actress.

"GREAT!" Takamina says excitedly. "First times are always good!"

"I guess" Atsuko replies with uncertainty

Minami grabs Atsuko's hand leading the way muttering "Let's go! I think I saw the fishing gear Mii-chan supposedly left in the boat earlier"

Looking at her hand being pulled and lead my Takamina, Atsuko can't help but smile to herself looking at the excited Mimani in front of her.

"It's been hours. Should we go get them now?" Mii-chan asks the two girls in front of her

Checking her watch, "What do you think Mari-chan." Nyan Nyan turns to the other girl.

"I guess those love birds have had more than enough alone time together to short their issues out." Mariko says with a smirk.

After a couple of the minutes, the three girls arrive to the island docking the boat as they get off to meet their friends.

"Hmm?" Mii-chan let's out scarthing her head.

"Nani?" Nyan Nyan tilts her head looking at the gachapin.

"That's odd" Mariko says

"Nya~~. What is it??" Haruna whines

Looks at the confused model. "We can't see them anywhere." Says Mii-chan.

"It's a small island. We can usually see from end to end." Adds Mariko

"Oh no!" Yelps Mii-chan bursting into a sprint.

"What?!" The two taller girls say in unison

"Get back to the boat ASAP!" Mii-chan runs.

Mii-chan stops on her tracks horrified that her hunch was true. As she watched the boat slowly drift farther away.

A laughing Minami and Atsuko waves at the three girls.

"You three have fun!" Minami shouts

"Yuko will come get you when she arrives!" Adds Acchan

Shaking their heads admitting defeat knowing they deserved it.

Mariko and Mii-chan turns to Nyan Nyan "So when will Yuko get here?"

Haruna puts a finger on her chin, looking up the sky trying to remember. "Tomorrow"

"EHHHHH!!!!!?!?!?!" A horrified look emerges from Mariko and Mii-chan's face

"ACCHAN!!" Mariko yells after the boat

"Oi!!!! TAKAMINA!!!" Screams Mii-chan hopelessly after the boat
