Title: Lion Kills Man Who Went Into Kiev Zoo Cage

A lion killed a man who climbed into its enclosure at the Kiev zoo, police said Monday.

The lion attacked the 45-year-old Ukrainian late Sunday after he used a rope to climb down into an enclosure with four lions, said police spokesman Volodymyr Polishchuk.

Ukrainian TV channel NTN broadcast interviews with witnesses who said the man told them that he believed God would not allow the lions to hurt him. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/05/AR2006060500394.html)

Isn't it a sin to put your God to the test?

Isn't it also stupid to climb into a Lion's den for no other reason?

why would God make him an exception and tell the lions not eat food (him) that brought itself to them? i think i saw a vid of a chinese guy trying the same thing somewhere..

I don't think it was because he was testing god, more that he had that much faith in god he believed it. There's a story in the bible about someone who was stuck in a lion's den, which is probably what influenced him to do it.

well he didn't just go in there. he provoked the poor hungry lions too..

The same thing has happened a few times.  There was an almost identical story in the news a couple of years ago, and they even had camcorder clips of the incident.

this reminds me of one of the stories i read in the Darwin Awards: a priest who slipped and died in a bathtub while attempting to walk on water

Why the lion kill him? Did he hurt it?
If I were him I'll stay away from that kind of animals.
