Well, looks like they faked us out with the "no new members" thing. The new lineup will consist of Yamaki Risa and Inaba Manaka from Hello Pro Kenshuusei along with newcomers Morito Chisaki, Shimamura Uta, and Ozeki Mai. Joining them are Satoda Mai (as their general manager) and shockingly, Tsugunaga Momoko! Momoko will act as their "Playing manager" (I guess for when Satoda Mai isn't available) as well as a sub-member up until Berryz goes on hiatus, at which point she will become a full member of Country・Girls
So... thoughts? I personally did not see this coming, especially the Momoko thing.

Well he's got his hands full dealing with the cancer. I don't mean to be depressing but I almost feel like this could be management's way of seeing if a Hello Project group can work without Tsunku if the worst happens.

I don't see anything saying Momo will be in the group, just that she'll be their "playing manager" for a few years to help nurture and develop them. I could be reading it wrong though. (Not gonna lie I'm happy either way cause I wasn't ready to see her leave H!P completely)

So is just a bunch of girls un-connected to the Country Musume of old other than being managed by Satoda? Then what makes them the new incarnation of Country Musume?
Is like picking 4 random British dudes & calling them the 'New Beatles'
Then again Up-front do own the Country Musume/Girls IP, so who am I to say what should 'real Country Musume' be?

I think Chisaki is my favorite so far. I'm excited to see them grow as a unit.
Yamaki Risa looks a lot like former AKB48 member Katayama Haruka :lol:

November 5, 2014
Country Musume have changed their name to 'Country Girls'. The group will start their activities with six members who are Berryz Kobo's Tsugunaga Momoko, Hello Pro Kenshuusei's Inaba Manaka and Yamaki Risa, and Morning Musume 12th generation audition participants Ozeki Mai, Shimamura Uta, and Morito Chisa.
Tsugunaga, who joined Country Girls as playing manager, commented, "Using the experience I gained in Berryz Kobo, I will do my best not to dye Country Girls with Momochi color." Country Girls is currently in preparation to participate in Hello! Project's concert tour, which will be held this winter. Tsugunaga will officially begin her activities in Country Musume after Berryz Kobo's activities come to a halt.
Satoda Mai, who will be the supervisor for Country Girls, said, "I am proud to have always called myself Country Musume even after I became the only member. Thinking of myself as a member of the group, I want to continue to watch over them from New York."
More details on Country Girls will be revealed soon.

Shimamura Uta is super cute, I couldn't take my eyes off her when I watched Itoshikute Gomen ne... I think that's what they call love at first sight, right?
